Haley Strack of National Review reports: “Republicans on the House Oversight Committee launched an investigation on Wednesday to determine if the Biden administration misused taxpayer dollars to fly Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the U.S. to benefit Kamala Harris's presidential campaign. In letters to top Biden administration officials, committee chairman James Comer wrote that then-president Donald Trump faced similar accusations from Democrats in 2019 of trying to use Zelensky to benefit is campaign ‘despite a lack of any evidence of wrongdoing. Now, the Biden-Harris Administration is flying the same foreign leader on an American-taxpayer-funded flight to Pennsylvania, a battleground state for Harris's campaign,' Comer wrote.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nationalreview.com/news/house-investigating-if-zelensky-trip-scheduled-to-benefit-kamala-harris-campaign/ 4:50pm- Union Members in Pennsylvania Prefer Trump. Layla A. Jones of The Philadelphia Inquirer writes: “While the Pennsylvania Conference of Teamsters endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president, the union's members who participated in an electronic survey overwhelmingly favored former President Donald Trump, according to data released by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Of Pennsylvania teamsters who participated in the informal survey, administered by BallotPoint Election Services from July 24 through Sept. 15, more than 65% supported endorsing Trump, compared with more than 31% who preferred Harris. This hews closely to the national results, which showed 60% of Teamsters choosing Trump, with 34% picking Harris.” You can read the full article here: https://www.inquirer.com/politics/election/international-brotherhood-teamsters-polling-data-trump-20240924.html

Gov. Ed Rendell returns to the Dom Giordano Program to lead off the second hour of today's show. First, Dom asks for Ed's thoughts on the Eagles, being that Rendell is a lifelong Eagles fan. Rendell, who served as the District Attorney and Mayor in Philadelphia, as well as the Governor of Pennsylvania, has a lot to say about what we're seeing by current leadership in Philadelphia. Rendell leads off by telling Giordano that he usually does not speak out about predecessors, but there is a pattern here, particularly by District Attorney Larry Krasner, that has led our city into despair. Rendell reads back his initial statement when he first spoke out against Krasner in endorsing Democratic opponent Carlos Vega, telling that he believes Krasner to be a good person who has lost his way in protecting the citizens of the city. Giordano asks Rendell if he takes personal offense when Krasner speaks out about the history of the DAs office and justice reform in the city, being a huge proponent himself for the cause, to which Rendell affirms and explains that reform is indeed necessary but the safety of citizens should be the primary goal. Then, Dom spends the remainder of the hour discussing issues surrounding crime, and Producer Dan reads back a statement by Krasner responding to the media criticism surrounding his words earlier this week in which he refused to call the crime situation in Philadelphia a ‘crisis.' Are people undervaluing your contribution? Do you feel like your expertise goes unnoticed or under appreciated? Despite being excellent at what you do, do you sometimes feel invisible while others get credit for your ideas? If you’re tired of being passed over for promotions, or people not perceiving you as the valuable strategic leader that you are, this is the episode for you.In this episode of The Career Rx we’ll discuss:What it means to “audition” for a role you already haveCharmaine McClarie and her Executive Success PrinciplesCommon mistakes you need to quit, and what to do insteadThree ways to transform how people perceive you as a leaderI recently had the opportunity to virtually attend the Pennsylvania Conference for Women and it was really enlightening. As I was listening to the speakers one in particular stood out to me because she got me to think about one of my favorite topics in an entirely new way. You know I’m all about professional branding - how others perceive you, and ultimately, promote you. This session was an excellent take on the same overall topic. The speaker was Charmaine McClarie, an executive coach focused on helping leaders get more visibility and get promoted. She was presenting her paradigm of 6 “Executive Success Principles” but there was one specifically that captured my attention. She said “stop auditioning for the role”. Essentially, she was making the case that lots of folks who get passed up for promotions and recognition at work aren’t fully owning their roles, and instead come across as if they are “auditioning” to be a leader. As I was listening I couldn’t help but think of ways that you could stop auditioning and start showing leadership in your role. If you want more responsibility, opportunity, and visibility for your contributions, you’ve got to show up in a different way. Listen in to hear three ways that you can show yourself as a leader in your role. I’m sharing why you need to stop waiting to share your opinions, why you need to stop apologizing for those opinions, and how you can take control of your opportunity universe and show that you are ready for more. “Do the thing that you are already charged to do and do it fully.” - Marjorie StieglerIn this Episode:[01:28] Why you should attend a variety of events that aren’t specific to your career (hello, Pennsylvania Conference for Women!).[02:25] What Charmaine McClarie means by “stop auditioning for the role”[04:00] Why it’s so important that you stop auditioning for the role you already have.[04:22] You’re the expert.
