Was bedeutet Sales Innovation wirklich?
Brainstormingmengandalkan energi kolektif tim untuk memicu ide-ide spontan melalui pertanyaan "How Might We", menciptakan efek bola salju di mana satu pemikiran memicu inspirasi lainnya.

Happy birthday, Lori! This week we celebrate our resident horse girl with three very Lori-centric stories. Lori shares the story of Hall of Fame barrel race horse Gills Bay Boy (aka Scamper), and Sheena covers Evelyn Estes, a young Memphis woman who traveled to California on her horse. Hannah covers mountaineer, author and teacher Junko Tabei, the first woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest and ascend the Seven Summits.
Summoned by a young woman, Falk returns to a mysterious estate in Shropshire that simultaneously exists in Parabellum Heights. Will Falk foil the royal kidnapping plot? How does the outcome of this adventure hinge on the undergarments of rodents? Listen to find out!On Her Majesty's Secret Scamper, episode 133 of This Gun in My Hand, was governed by Rob Northrup. Melinda challenged me: “The ultimate would be [an episode about] Hamster Panties brought to you by Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.”2. Yes, Penelope is named after the character from the animated series Hamtaro, released in the US in 2002. 3. Why does “Card Sense” Jimmy Barnes sound like a bad Ronald Coleman impression in episode 95, but like a bad Christopher Connelly impression in this episode? Because just like that other action hero known for his skill with cards, the character is sometimes British and other times American.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQJOAiukFkI4. Falk's earlier dalliance at Vulverwood Hall and the first appearance of Miss Carlotta Shaywood were in episode 108, “Zildjian's Away to Shropshire.” If you can't get enough hamster adventures, listen to episode 78, “Speed Detective.” Or “The Hamster Caper of Curtis Cleever,” a 1979 episode of Sears Radio Theater narrated by Cicely Tyson.https://archive.org/download/sears-radio-theatre_202008/790628%20104%20The%20Hamster%20Caper%20of%20Curtis%20Cleever.mp3According to Wikipedia, the anthology series had a different theme for each night of the week, and a different host. Tyson hosted “Love and Hate Nights” on Thursdays.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sears_Radio_Theater5. Shropshire borders Wales so I spent an extra few minutes finding bird call ambience recorded in Wales for the bit while they're in Shropshire, and North Devon bird calls for the bit talking about Hemsford pansies. Leslie Grandy, a seasoned executive with leadership roles at Apple, Amazon, Best Buy, and T-Mobile, discusses the underestimated nature of creative capability and how leaders can systematically cultivate it. Drawing from her early career in the film industry and later product leadership across Fortune 50 companies, she presents a grounded, practical perspective on how creativity functions in high-performance environments. She outlines three foundational skills transferable across domains: enduring ambiguity with resilience, sustaining momentum in the absence of external validation, and solving unfamiliar problems with resourcefulness rather than prescribed playbooks. These competencies, shaped by years in unpredictable contexts, later enabled her to thrive in zero-to-one product environments at scale. Grandy also offers insight into organizational enablers and constraints for creative velocity. She identifies cultures that treat creativity as the remit of all functions, not just design or strategy, as more adaptive and resilient. Conversely, she cautions against consensus-driven thinking and status quo bias, which she sees as systemic inhibitors. The most effective environments, she argues, reward structured risk-taking and integrate post-mortem learning with equal weight to successes. Reflecting on her time reporting to Steve Jobs, Grandy explains the discipline of brand stewardship and decisiveness under uncertainty. Jobs' intolerance for diluted brand signals, whether in product UX or retail merchandising, was less a quirk and more an intentional design principle. She recounts how even small misalignments, such as offering engraving suggestions on iPods, were swiftly reversed to preserve narrative clarity. The discussion also explores her recent book, Creative Velocity, and its guiding premise: creativity is not a fixed trait but a repeatable discipline. Through structured techniques like the generic parts technique and SCAMPER, she argues that anyone, including those outside “creative” job titles, can develop idea fluency and confidence. She emphasizes the role of generative AI as a tool for exploratory dialogue rather than one-shot answers, calling for greater patience and iterative engagement to unlock its full potential. For senior leaders, this episode surfaces a precise question: Are you designing your organization to perform or to invent? And are you personally equipped to model the latter? Mastering Divergent Thinking Skills Today marks the beginning of a series of episodes introducing you to five creative thinking skills. Future episodes will explore each skill's background, steps, application, and examples. In this episode, we'll explore how mastering divergent thinking skills can transform your life, turning obstacles into opportunities and making the impossible seem possible. Remember to subscribe so you don't miss out on any upcoming episodes. Let's get started. The Power of Divergent Thinking Harnessing the power of divergent thinking is essential in mastering creative thinking. Divergent thinking is the cornerstone of creativity. It enables individuals and teams to generate multiple solutions to a problem, diverging from linear thinking, which seeks to find one correct solution. You can break free from your usual patterns and tap into your creative potential by using divergent thinking. Today, we'll explore divergent thinking and how mastering it can unlock your creativity. Background of Divergent Thinking Divergent thinking involves generating many ideas or solutions to a single problem. Imagine opening your mind's toolbox when faced with a challenge and exploring every tool, idea, and approach rather than just reaching for the usual hammer or screwdriver. History and Development Psychologist J. P. Guilford first conceptualized divergent thinking in the 1950s. During this period, creativity and cognitive processes became central to psychological studies. Guilford distinguished between convergent and divergent thinking, highlighting the latter's role in creativity. While convergent thinking converges on a single, correct solution, divergent thinking generates multiple potential solutions, paving the way for innovative thinking and creativity. Over the decades, this concept has evolved and been embraced as a critical skill for problem-solving and generating novel ideas. Characteristics of Divergent Thinking Divergent thinking has several critical characteristics that drive its effectiveness: 1. Generates Multiple Solutions: It thrives on generating numerous possibilities without restriction. 2. Promotes Originality: It encourages creating unique and novel ideas, pushing thinkers to explore beyond conventional ideas. 3. Encourages Risk-Taking: It involves exploring the unknown and taking risks, seeing failure as part of the creative process. 4. Flexibility: This enables shifting approaches quickly and viewing problems from multiple perspectives. 5. Non-Linear Thinking: It allows for unexpected connections and conclusions to emerge. 6. Encourages Curiosity and Exploration: A divergent thinker enjoys exploring various possibilities, seeking understanding and multiple approaches. Comparisons with Convergent Thinking Divergent thinking thrives on quantity, encouraging open-ended exploration beyond traditional boundaries. In contrast, convergent thinking evaluates and chooses among the options generated by divergent thinking. Together, they encompass a full cycle of the creative process. Divergent thinking starts the cycle, while convergent thinking focuses on refining ideas into practical solutions. Each has its place in problem-solving and innovation. Importance of Divergent Thinking Divergent thinking is crucial in a rapidly changing world. It fosters adaptability, allowing individuals and organizations to thrive in uncertain environments. This approach encourages innovation and continuous improvement, which is particularly valuable in technology and other fields requiring constant advancements. Divergent thinking enhances learning and understanding by examining topics from multiple viewpoints, leading to comprehensive insights and greater empathy. Mastering divergent thinking equips individuals with flexibility, creativity, and resilience to tackle 21st-century challenges. How to Master Divergent Thinking Mastering divergent thinking involves developing a mindset and skill set that enables endless possibilities. Here are practical steps and exercises to cultivate this capability: Mindset Shift Adopting a mindset conducive to divergent thinking involves: 1. Fostering Curiosity: Cultivate an insatiable curiosity about the world. 2. Welcoming Failure: See failure as a stepping stone to innovation. 3. Practicing Open-mindedness: Challenge existing beliefs and be open to new ideas. 4. Encouraging Idea Generation without Immediate Judgment: Brainstorm freely without early critique. 5. Seeking Diverse Experiences: Immerse yourself in various environments, cultures, and fields. 6. Practicing Discomfort: Step out of your comfort zone regularly. Exercises and Practices Enhance your divergent thinking skills with these exercises: 1. Brainstorming Sessions: Regularly engage in brainstorming on various topics. 2. Daily Creativity Challenges: Set a daily creative challenge for yourself. 3. SCAMPER Technique: Use the SCAMPER technique to innovate everyday objects or problems. 4. Thought Experiments: Engage in thought experiments with unusual scenarios. 5. Ask Question: Use a set of questions, like the Killer Question Card Deck from Innovation. 6. Change Your Environment: Alter your surroundings to spark creativity. 7. Reverse Thinking: Start with the desired outcome and work backward. 8. Play and Experimentation: Dedicate time to play and experiment without specific goals. 9. Interdisciplinary Learning: Explore subjects outside your expertise. When to Use Divergent Thinking Divergent thinking is beneficial in various scenarios, such as: 1. Brainstorming and Ideation Phases 2. Problem-Solving Situations 3. Creative Endeavors 4. Strategic Planning 5. Conflict Resolution 6. Personal Growth When Not to Use Divergent Thinking However, divergent thinking may not be effective in: 1. Time-Sensitive Decisions 2. High-Risk Environments 3. When Clarity and Simplicity are Required 4. During the Implementation Phase 5. In Highly Regulated Industries Conclusion In the next episode, we'll focus on convergent thinking and its role in mastering creative thinking skills. Subscribe so you don't miss out on upcoming episodes. In the meantime, cultivate your divergent thinking skills to enhance innovation and unlock new possibilities. Remember, you can develop creativity with practice.
Before we get too much into discovering and defining Your ONE Thing, I want to preface this by saying that it isn't about only doing or having ONE thing.Even though that level of focus is pretty amazing (and is something I'm working towards, it's a process). This is about creating the ONE thing you're known for.Not a niche (swear I'm not anti-niche, I'm anti-ONLY-niche), but more of a brand philosophy and mantra that people associate with you and your business. And if you're a personal brand, ideally, people associate your ONE thing with YOU personally.I'm hosting a free workshop next week, so I thought I'd give you a little sneak peek and preview what we're going to cover and why this is crucial to differentiate yourself in a very noisy world filled with AI content. And for what it's worth, I LOVE AI and use it all the time. But what sets you apart is who you are.If you have even a little understanding and knowledge of copywriting, marketing, direct response, and content, you can use AI pretty easily and get decent output. What AI can't do is be YOU (and hopefully not in my lifetime because, let's face it, that's a little creepy to even think about). You can absolutely train it to sound like you, write in your voice, use the type of language you use, but you still have to train it.That's where Your ONE Thing comes in.I have a 6-step framework for “Your ONE Thing” – so let's jump into it.Be sure to register for the FREE workshop here. The LIVE Workshop is on Wednesday, May 15th at 11:00 PDT. It will be recorded, but you need to register. If you get this after the live workshop, you can register and watch the on-demand workshop for free with the same link (and my goal is to run this live more than once while I continue iterating and refining everything).Your ONE Thing FrameworkHere's the 6-step framework, with more detailed explanations below:Core Discovery DiveAudience AlchemyIdea IncubatorReality CheckIdentity ImprintLaunchpad Lift-OffLet's dive deeper into each one.Core Discovery Dive (self-assessment & reflection):This is the self-assessment and reflection step of the framework. You're going to want to dive deep into the core of your personal and business identity to uncover the unique elements that define you. Self-awareness is key here. This step also requires a certain level of courage and commitment to showing up genuinely as yourself and letting go of what people think.Understanding your strengths and passions will make creating more authentic and engaging content much easier.Audience Alchemy (market and audience analysis):This involves a combination of market research and analysis and knowing your ideal target audience, including psychographics (which are just as valuable, if not more valuable, than demographics). You want to hone in on what excites them, their desires, and the specific problems they have that you can solve uniquely.Understanding market trends and audience preferences can help refine your unique selling proposition to meet your audience where they're at.Idea Incubator (ideation & concept development):This is where we will start brainstorming potential “ONE Things” for you and your business. I love all the steps, but this is probably my favorite. There are a couple of different methodologies for doing this, including the SCAMPER method (which I just discovered) and my Umbrella method. The Umbrella method is an easier place to start, and then, as you get clearer, you can iterate and move on to the SCAMPER method if you want to go deeper.Reality Check (validation and testing):This is where the...

Tesla was an employee of Edison's, but became his rival when he took new ideas to a competitor, George Westinghouse, and found success there. While Edison had dominated the market with his DC-powered systems, eventually the war was won by Tesla and the new AC electricity. • Edison was a prolific and productive inventor who also manufactured and marketed his products across the country. His approach was to make gradual improvements to things that already existed, and he eventually amassed over 1000 patents to his name.• Tesla's approach was slightly different, in that he was less prolific but more innovative, and able to seize the AC technology wave where Edison could not. Returning to our best of Killer Innovations series, we dive into the importance of reading for the innovator and some stimulating books to stir up your creativity. Building a library of inspiration in your innovation studio ensures you have a ready source of ideas. This inspiration library can come in the form of a collection of innovative books. I am a visual learner, so reading books is where I often find my inspiration. I will walk you through some essential books and explain why I value them. My Design Innovation Books The first book is "Frank Lloyd Wright: A Visual Encyclopedia." I grew up in Chicago, where the author started and became famous. Personally, this book reminds me to create my style. Frank Lloyd Wright separated himself from others. He developed his style and put a different spin on the design of his buildings. The next book is called "A Pattern Language" by a professor at UC Berkeley, Christopher Alexander. Used by the original Sims game developers, the author breaks down patterns found by building houses, cities, and other buildings. While you can't apply what is in this book and apply it directly to a product or service, the book teaches an important idea. You can generate a certain feeling or experience through your patterns and designs. "Designing Interactions" by Bill Moggridge is the third innovation book in my library of inspiration. The author focuses on designing experiences and offers important insights into the origins of Google and others. The fourth book on my list touches on what to do with design, where problems can occur, and how to avoid them. It is "The Universal Principles of Design" by William Lidwell. My Creative Innovation Books The fifth book is "Thinker Toys: A Handbook of Creative-Thinking Techniques" by Michael Michalko. In my opinion, this is a book that every innovator should have. The book brings together tools, approaches, ways to brainstorm, uses of SCAMPER, etc., that are very useful for innovators. Pretty much anything that Michael puts out, I buy. Another book is "Six Thinking Hats" by Dr. Edward de Bono." His TV show on PBS introduced me to the innovation and creativity space when I was a kid. Over six or seven shows, Dr. de Bono, taught viewers about unleashing their creativity, which sparked something inside me. The book is a great reminder to change your perspective and keep a fresh mind and is a great piece to have in your library of inspiration. Fun Books I Keep Now I will share with you some fun books I keep that make me laugh. The first is "The World's Worst Inventions: The Craziest Gadgets and Machines Ever Made" by Jack Watkins. This book discusses some inventions that have been deemed stupid by many. Ironically, some of these inventions have gone on to be successful after this book was published. The next book is "Fail Harder: Ridiculous Illustrations of Epic Fails" by Failblog.org Community. This book humorously discusses human failings and reminds us of our human nature.

Where to Start Your Product Development Hello, this is Hall T. Martin with the Startup Funding Espresso -- your daily shot of startup funding and investing. It's important to have a product development process for your startup. Here's a list of what startups should do to get started: Focus on the customer's pain. Find that which is critically important and not just nice to have. Do it better than the competition. Don't be just slightly better, be way better. Use the SCAMPER model to ideate new product concepts as follows: Substitution -- use a different material, ingredient, or interface. Combine -- put multiple components together. Adapt -- make it easier for the user. Modify -- add one new feature to an existing product. Put to another use -- take an existing solution and apply to a new application. Eliminate -- remove unnecessary features or intermediaries. Reverse -- approach the problem from the other direction. It's important to know your customers and then spend time with them to validate the proposed solution. Thank you for joining us for the Startup Funding Espresso where we help startups and investors connect for funding.Let's go startup something today. _______________________________________________________ For more episodes from Investor Connect, please visit the site at: Check out our other podcasts here: For Investors check out: For Startups check out: For eGuides check out: For upcoming Events, check out For Feedback please contact info@tencapital.group Please , share, and leave a review. P: Put to other uses: (che utilizzo alternativo potrebbe avere la tua idea?)

This week's show covers an area that is critical to your innovation success. Ideation is the act of generating ideas, which is part of the FIRE (Focus, Ideation, Ranking, Execution) framework that we use to help discover ideas and lead to disruptive innovations. We will break down FIRE and discuss ideation and the process of our Disruptive Ideation Workshops. FIRE In the past, we have covered the four elements of the innovation framework, consisting of focus, ideation, ranking, and execution. Focus is the area that you set up processes and ways of collecting info that identifies problem areas. Ideation is where you create a funnel of ideas and collect them. The Ranking is where you take this collection and score the ideas based on their impact and importance. Execution is where you take the best ideas and experiment to see what your outcome can be. FIRE is a framework that is used by many organizations that tailor it to their specific wants and needs. We will discuss the ideation aspect of FIRE. Ideation Ideation needs to consist of a type of idea that is being targeted. There are killer ideas, which are breakthroughs and create an advantage that makes the entire marketplace react. These are giant leaps forward and will shock the existing market. Incremental ideas are improvements in product quality, new features, etc., and happen over time. You need to be clear with your team where your focus will be on the type of idea. I like to use tools that help trigger ideas. We use the Killer Questions Card Deck that focuses on questions based on the who (customer), the what (innovating product), and the how (organizational transitions that need to be made). Think about the questions you want to ask in ideation activities. You need to prepare for this and come to it from multiple different angles. There is feature versus function ideation. An example of a feature is to design a better cup. An example of a function is to design a better way to carry liquids. It would be best if you focus on coming up with complete ideas. Ideation Workshop Process Let's walk through the exact process I take people through during our ideation workshops. Firstly, we start with individual ideation. We use sticky notes and put one idea on each sticky note. We spend about twenty minutes working on this, and you want to get 20 good ideas. Next, we use a process called SCAMPER (Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to another use, Eliminate, Reverse). Search SCAMPER under Google for more info or check it out on Killerinnovations.com. At this point, it is still an individual activity. Done for about ten minutes, you will want to come up with five more ideas here. Now, you take your twenty-five ideas and briefly explain them to everyone else in your group or team. If there are two similar ideas, clump them together. If someone's idea triggers a new idea, add it to the group of ideas. Now we move on to team ideation. One at a time, someone chooses another's idea that they think is important and exciting. Then, they build upon that person's idea and help improve it. The process should be done quickly and without any form of criticism. Conclusion At this point, you should have a collection of good ideas grouped by similarity. When you combine a tool like SCAMPER (individual ideation) with team ideation, you will generate around 30% more ideas out of your ideation- as compared to doing team ideation and individual ideation separately.
