What is it that you guys think is the appropriate number of mags to have for your rifle and pistol? Do I really need to have 10 mags minimum? For myself, I think open emitter red dots on concealed carry guns will be looked at as weird and genX level fuddery and anyone who uses one will always feel like explaining it away like Jeremy does with iron sights. I have (only) a few dozen guns, and have been using "NMCollector" since about 2005, and it meets my needs. It is now $15/year which is very reasonable, and a "lifetime" activation is less than 85-bucks. A quick search on the interwebs for alternatives reveals "ArmoryBook" which is $200/yr for up to 50 records, and "GunTrack" which is $100/yr for up to 100 records; both are way over budget for my needs. Are there other softwares I'm not aware of that you'd recommend? I don't keep pictures generally, and all I really need to track is make, model, caliber, description, year & country of manufacture, source, cost, appraised value, etc for insurance records and for my wife to cash in on this "401(G)uns" fund when I'm gone (hopefully not for several decades). I hear constantly about not being able to use red dots because of astigmatism, making the dot not a perfect circle, and some other shape. Just want to say that the projection on the glass for red dots won't be a perfect circle with the way they are designed/manufactured, and the “dot” has a weird shape because it is projecting a bunch of tiny dots to a general area on the glass to make up the dot. It does not create a perfect circle. And if you focus on the “dot,” then you will see “imperfection” vs looking at the target where the “imperfection” will be nonexistent, with the general dot shape being over the target. I'm just curious if everyone is mistaking this inherent design of the red dot projection for something that is wrong with their eyes. And when every host says they have an astigmatism, it just seems odd. If you think you've heard some wild shit from your quote-unquote radical friends then you better strap your ear pussies in for a ride. Upon hitting play you will be greeted by 5 cast members and while it will all seem normal for the first 15 seconds, you will soon find out that these dudes are cooler than your actual friends. Shawn, the head of the dick that is WLS, is always front and center, he runs the show and seemingly has seen it all and sometimes he gets drunk and that's when the real fun happens. Jeremy is likened to the shaft, keeps the cast together, is always the one to brag about his size and multiple times throughout the show he will uncontrollably engorge himself with rage. Aaron and Nick are both like the balls, Nick is the higher up one, closer to the head and friendly with the shaft. Seems to have lots of knowledge about the business but you would never know it. For the most part he is quiet and stays out of the way. But when he is needed, he generally has an answer. Aaron on the other hand, he is the lower one, he is the Ying to Nicks Yang, he always can't help himself with getting in the way, of easy conversation. And the rest of the cast always has fun at the expense of Aaron's well being. That being said these 5 guys will broaden your firearms and associated knowledge with true stories, industry news, first hand experience along with a lot of good laughs. Love the show guys. Shawn is Thyme because his hunting stories waste a lot of it. Nick is cream of tarter because hes a little 'tarded, but the good kind of 'tarded. Jeremy is white pepper because white pepper isnt black. Aaron is cumin because all the dudes that cum-in him. I put a Gideon Alpha on it and am very pleased. Thanks for the recommendation.   Kermit Thee Frog - Just wanted to follow up on my previous question about the Warhawk 3-15. A couple weeks before you guys got to my message I stumbled on an Athlon Helos BTR Gen2 4-20 for just over 500 doll hairs. It has locking turrets and zero stop while also decent weight for its class. I've been able to use it to shoot out to 900, 1100 and a 16x16 plate at 1300 yards with a 20” 6.5 Grendel AR. I'm really impressed with the glass quality and eye relief. The turrets also feel really good. The image gets a little dark at 20x as well as tight exit pupil but I don't think it's really that bad at all for this price point. I've been shooting the 16x16 plate at 1300 on 16x and can clearly see my hits without any purple fringing or other clarity issues. For the price of this optic I would highly recommend it.Also I have to say the Grendel has really surprised me. I was planning on switching out to 6 ARC but so far the Grendel has surpassed my expectations for what I use this rifle for."   Fuhh Q Shawn - Are there any companies that make a fixed stock, like Magpul, that fit over a standard carbine buffer tube?   Randy Randy - I got a rost martin rm1c. I realized, however, that we rarely see semiautomatic rifles that lack manual safeties. Is there a reason for this, or perhaps am I just ignorant of their existence? Thanks #blamecanada   Zac C:  I have had this question on my mind for sometime, and it recently came back to me during your recent show with Night Fision.   Why is it that so many gun companies and gun accessory companies reside in non gun friendly states?   I can somewhat understand the older company's like Remington and Ruger, and until recently Smith and Wesson, as I assume they were there before the state went stupid. But why are companies like Night Fision starting up companies in states that don't support what they do. I know it easy for me to say move, but I wouldn't want to have my company in a state that is actively trying to shut down the very thing that puts food on my table. So why are companies in very well known non gun friendly states.   Tom P:  I am moving and I sold my gun safe. I am looking to get something like secureit gunstorage. Multiple questions. I'd apologize for it, but you guys are like the Dr. Ruth of the gun world, minus the sex advice, thank god.  It's my understanding from listening over the years that possession of both full auto M16/M4 lower parts kit with the auto sear and M16-cut lower receivers is fully legal as long as the dreaded third hole is not drilled in the lowers. Do you guys know which manufacturers sell lowers with the M16-cut instead of the high shelf? Just curious (not bi-curious, A-Aron) for reasons... Jeremy, do the RET4RD lowers have the M-16 cut, and if so, do you have any left available?  I have a 6.5 Creedmoor AR10 that I pieced together using Aero M5 lower, upper and handguard, Spikes BCG and Criterion 18inch barrel. I have a Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 first focal plane scope that I want to mount on it. I know it's not an ideal scope, but I got it for free. Can you recommend a good 30mm tube mount or rings that won't break the bank, preferably 20 MOA for longer range.  Salma Hayek, Dame Helen Mirren, Jane Seymour (of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and Wedding Crashers fame). Pecker McPeckerson - If you had to start your journey into the gun cumunity over, How, in 2025, would you get into the industry? a gun store, a range, a podcast, etc.You cannot use any contacts you already have from the gun community. You are starting from scratch with just the guns you have purchased and basic knowledge of firearms. Ny(e)gerski - You guys talk down alot about shadow systems, but I'd like to be a bit contrarian. When I bought mine, I was looking for something g19 sized, reliable, safe, and a bit upgraded. I considered building one on a p80 or a faxon frame...but then I saw the cr920 elite. Metal mags, upgraded trigger, grip texture, optic cut, etc. All for 750 bucks. I'll admit they have gone up in price more than they should (i.e. kanik) and their marketing department with the wording....really guys.... my question is, have you guys looked at their optic cut? It's pretty neat, fits most all of the different cuts without plates. It uses little spacers that you have to shoehorn the optic in where the screws have almost no pressure on them. Maybe it would be a good option to license to other manufacturers? Ps. as a fuel driver in the Midwest, there are pretty much 2 grades of fuel...subgrade which is around 84 octane, and premium which is 91. Those 2 fuels get either blended together, blended with ethanol, or both to create all the different fuels you get at the station. 84 with 10% ethanol gets you to 87octane. 84 with 15% ethanol gets you 88octane. 84 with a little 91 gets you 87 with 0 ethanol...etc. we were hoping to see you guys at goals, but had to change our vacation days from an adoption finally having an end date right after, hope you guys had a blast! I like the look of the heavy 16” barrel, like on model 31197. Is the bull barrel of any practical use on a 22? I do plan to do some off hand shooting, but most will be from a bipod or front bag. Ruger makes a lite model that gives the look of the heavy barrel but is much less weight, however it costs significantly more. I have no plans to compete with this, just a fun shooter.

I think i want a metal frame hammer gun just as a change from all my striker pistols. As much as many of us in the 2A sphere hoped for it's demise in the BBB, the State level consequences could be detrimental. Let me explain: In the State of Oregon, and I believe there are twelve other States, with the full repeal of the NFA Federally, it would cost us the ability to own, possess, or purchase NFA items. As, at least here in Oregon, they are only able to be in existence, because the NFA is a de facto registry. At this time, Oregon does not have its own requirement to register firearms, but with the implementation of Measure 114 (still tied up in the courts) and the QUEEN Governor having just signed SB 243, the noose is tightening around the firearms owner's neck. Anyway, it is my belief, that the tax was dropped to zero dollars and the NFA maintained to allow these 13 +/- States the ability to keep those NFA items, as ATF maintains their de facto registry. I spend a lot of time in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. For the most part our wildlife is pretty easy to deal with. We have black bears but they tend to be small and for the most part they're more afraid of people than we are of them. The next biggest predators we have are coyotes, and bobcats, which I'm not particularly worried about, and fisher cats which, while creepy as fuck if you hear them at night, aren't really a threat (seriously look that shit up, they sound like screaming women). We also have timber rattlesnakes but they're rare enough to be a non-issue. Here's where it gets interesting, there is one animal in the woods of northern New England that scares me and it's the moose. When I say this people tend to say, “what's the big deal? It's just big deer, right?” Fuck no. I don't care how big you think a moose is, it's bigger than that. Picture a clydesdale with six foot antlers and cloven hooves and you'll have a rough approximation. They fear nothing and they move through the woods surprisingly quietly so it's pretty easy to startle one if you don't know it's there. In springtime the young bulls get all sex-nuts and retard-strong and occasionally decide to take out their sexual frustration by murdering the fuck out of whatever they can find. And god help you if you come across a cow with a baby. Mama moose will stomp your ass into jelly and go right back to munching on lake weed if you so much as look at her offspring cross-eyed. So my question is this, is 10mm hardcast enough to take down leftover ice-age megafauna too dumb to go extinct? Or should I be looking at something bigger?" Aaron Not Moses - Rebuilding a backyard range and I have a few different places to put it, no gas lines nearby. I am mostly surrounded by woods but there are some properties that have buildings on them or may be building on them in the future. Two questions, how high should a berm be in relation to the targets? When placing the berm and shooting direction how far should the closest building be away? 1 mile, 2 miles, or more We are shooting anything from 22-6.5 Creedmoor, but who knows when we will buy a cannon. It is the standard thinner profile barrel and heats up quick after my first few rounds. Is it worth swapping the barrel out to a bull? Should i leave this rifle as-is and invest in a new platform? I have seen everything from basic pistol courses where it appears they are indoors at a range to courses that are defensive/competition style classes. And when looking into defensive ar courses it runs the gamut from just getting into ar's to having “professional” training for wet work. What do I look for when trying to decipher the description of classes? However, I have also read that the ATF is no longer requiring a change of address form at all, as long as the new address is in the same state. Do you know if this is true? Urva Jinaswet - We Like Shooting Episode 611 starting at timestamp 01,07,33 you guys were talking about a video on the SIG P320 and someone making it fire with using parts from different P320 configurations. You guys brushed it off as something that doesn't prove anything because it was made/forced to work like the ATF making that Auto Keycard to work. But it is not like that at all, and you missed the point. The point is that the P320 is capable of firing without the trigger being pulled. It proves the P320 is capable of firing without the trigger being depressed. So with parts being out of spec or not functioning correctly, which is entirely possible with mass production and MIM and shitty QC, the P320 can fire without input from the user. I have been saying this for a while now and now this video proves it. The trigger is not mechanically linked to the striker safety lock. The trigger pushes the striker safety lock out of the way when the trigger is pulled, but it does not pull it back when the trigger returns to start. A tiny spring is what returns the striker safety lock to safe. That's it. Just FYI. Where is this video that shows this?
