She is a best-selling author and host of The Find Your Leadership Confidence Podcast.Show NotesLeaders have to coach, counsel, encourage and motivate. How we say what we say matters.By first writing down our thoughts we become better speakers, teachers, mentors, and coaches.Issues in speaking (and teaching, mentoring, and coaching) come from a lack of clear, concise communication. Our words, and tone, need to come from our gut. Before we respond it's critical to take time to listen to the other person. Actively listen to what is said. When speaking publicly in person arrive early enough so you can talk to people in the audience. Make sure your talk is going to resonate by asking what brought them today, what they hope to learn, what their experience has been, etc. When speaking on Zoom, arrive early and engage with people there. Use the chat. Invite people to answer your questions in the chat so you can hear from more people. Ask the same questions you would in a live event. During your talk, when telling your stories, do it in a way that makes the person who is listening see themselves in the story (i.e. the same thing happened to me! Or, I feel the same way). Be relatable. Be yourself and connect with the people who resonate with you and your story. You don't need to try to be anyone else (like a speaker you admire or who has trained you). Use your facial expression and gestures to connect with people. Vary your expression, your tone, and your energy.Make your talk like a song. Songs have hooks, verses, choruses, bridges, dynamics, intros, and outros. Listen to music and notice all the ways songs keep you engaged. Use the same ideas to make your talk engaging and keep people leaning in. Listen to the radio announcers to understand vocal variety.

It's critical to do our best to maintain our balance during unsettling times. One way to help ourselves is to watch what we allow into our lives (such as movies, media, and conversations). 2. Each of us has natural cycles. These cycles happen in all areas of our lives including our business & personal life. 3. It's very important to recharge yourself so you can give to your family, clients, and relationships. Recharging is doing what feels good to you like dancing, sleeping, walking, reading, exercising, etc...4. If we don't recharge, we eventually run out of juice. We become less effective. 5. When what you do during the day doesn't line up with your goals, the solution is to align your work with your values. Systems may work but aren't the solution to productivity. Systems don't adjust for the seasons of your life or for the actual day-to-day living and unexpected situations that happen. The idea of 'consistent output all the time' doesn't leave space for humanity.A question to ask is how do we FEEL about what we're focused on?We need to give ourselves permission and space to figure out what we want to focus on.It usually takes someone on the outside to help us to see what we value but we can also look at our calendar and our budget to help us see what we are valuing. When you deviate from your plan to be productive, it's good to notice how what you chose to do supported you and your goals and how it supported your boundaries. We thrive in community. The mouse represents our unspoken, unexpressed feelings, thoughts, and body sensations that have a real impact on our experiences and our relationships. They are unspoken because we spend so much time trying to get what we want and trying not to get in trouble at the same time. When we're willing to risk being more truthful in an artful way life gets better. The Mouse in the Room is more subtle. The mouse may be a disappointment you experienced; something that happened that you still have a feeling about. It may be something you need to confess to from years ago. It could be something you desire but have not had the courage to express. Speaking the truth about these mice frees up energy for me. We can not underestimate what it can do for the other person. She lives in Calgary, Alberta Canada with her partner and their curly, cuddly dog. Show NotesOne of the biggest challenges for parents today is being present and emotionally available. Distractions and sometimes relaxed or unclear boundaries with our children contribute to the difficulty in relationships. Social media tends to lead to less communication and fewer conversations between parents and their children. We can learn how to connect with our children no matter their age. We need to make time to be fully available. It is very helpful to be curious, interested and engaged when we're talking/listening to our children. When we come from curiosity, it gives our children space to express their ideas and an acknowledgment of them. It tells them that they can have an opinion, too. Tips for Communication from Elizabeth (these are all skills that can be learned):When communicating with our children listen from a place of wanting to understand, not judge. There are three things to base your college decision on:The right academic fitThe right social fitThe right financial fitSometimes, It's not where you graduate from, it's how well you do in college. It's important to help your kids make their college choice. It is a huge decision with many implications. You can begin the college conversation very early by planting the seed about going to college so you can have a bigger conversation with kids when they are in grade school. The process of preparing should really start when they graduate from eighth grade. These questions will help you and your child determine where they should go and what they may want to study. What are you passionate about? What are your core values? What are you good at?If you start early, getting college-ready can be gentle and fun….When they're older, it ends up feeling more like firehouse preparation….Colleges are not looking at what you're doing to impress them. Instead, they are looking at your passion that leads to a purpose that allows you to demonstrate your leadership.Colleges want to know how you will stand out….They want to see and want students to see their uniqueness. They want to see:Early community serviceEarly demonstration of a passionEarly demonstration of leadershipCollege Ready works with students one-on-one and creates a 'Standout Strategy' for each student. They work together to create their college-ready resume based on that strategy. She inspires families raising children on the autism spectrum to find hope, purpose, and clarity even amid the stress and chaos the atypical parenting journey brings. You can have the peace and calm you seek on the home front, the purposeful and intentional family relationship you desire, and claim back the life you thought is no longer yours. From living a life of reactive chaos at the homefront as a norm, it is time to get proactive and create the harmony and best possible life for our family by leveraging TODAY to support a better future for you and your family. Our transformation begins with our one purposeful step every day.Find Stephanie: https://beyond-special.com/Show Notes: Having a child who is on the Autism Spectrum can be completely overwhelming and all-consuming. It's very important to care for yourself so that you can have the energy to care for your family. If you're not feeling excited about life, if you dread the day knowing what is ahead, you can take small steps toward more happiness. The question Stephanie asks herself is: What can I do today to make tomorrow easier?Focus on just one thing. What is the ONE thing you can do today to make tomorrow easier? Those things compound. Those daily things add up over time and you'll see the progress. For Stephanie, it initially was waking up earlier. Having a quiet cup of tea. It eventually became spending 5 minutes each day teaching her daughter to get dressed. Our worries about our kids are valid but they do not help us move forward.Instead of worrying, ask the empowering question, what can I do today to make tomorrow easier. It gives us more hope, more courage, and encouragement to keep taking small steps forward toward thriving, not just surviving. ==============

Understanding the crucial role teenagers will play in the coming future, and influenced by her own story as a teenager, she has decided to help #parents improve their communications with their teenagers so they can better prepare them for adulthood. Pacale is the Founder of Parent Lead CoachingFind Robin: quitproofkids.comShow Notes: To be in communication with our teens, we must be willing and able to adapt our parenting style. The basis of communication is listening. No matter how the world changes (technology, challenges, concerns) at the end of the day, our kids are humans and humans basically stay the same with the same needs for love and acceptance. We have to be able to see the person in front of us and look at their heart and see the value in what they are bringing. Whatever your teenager reflects back to you, you can use it to adjust your parenting and be relevant to them.

Find Angelica (aka Sita Sadhana Kaur):Radiant Relationships www.angelicaisisazura.comAbout Angelica: I am a proud mother of two beautiful girls. 15 years ago, after a very bad conflict at work, I discovered personal development books for myself. I set on a journey to master the art of life, to understand who I was, to find my life purpose, and most of all to understand why my life was actually not the way I wanted it to be. I spent 15 years going through the dark sides of my soul. I was caught in the drama of an emotionally and physically abusive relationship for 10 years. After my marriage dissolved I had to face the consequences of the years of abuse and self-neglect. I was suffering from PTSD. The journey to healing was not an easy one, yet it had its profound gifts for me. I experienced true healing and found my passion to help women break free from the grip of toxic relationships. I use my own intuition, Inner child work, Akashic Records, and Kundalini Yoga technology to bring true transformation into women's lives.Find Robin www.QuittingCulture.com

We feel good and making a contribution is easy and natural. Get into flow by noticing how things make you feel. What foods make you feel good? What exercise/movement feels good? What activities feel good? What people make you feel good when you're with them?Pay attention to how you feel and chose things that feel good and make you happy. It takes awareness to stay in flow because we are wired to go off track. Being human means that we're inclined to go into a state of threat - meaning, there is something I need to control. It is human nature to live in the 'Drama Triangle' where we feel like we need to be right about something. It could be as simple as being 'right' that I don't have enough time or energy or resources. It could also be a judgment of self or of others (being right about someone). The Drama Triangle consists of these three 'people' (any one of these can be me):Victim - Powerless, 'he/she made me', I had no choice, it's someone else's faultVillain - Makes judgments about situations or people - right/wrong, good/bad, the criticHero - The one who must save, rescue, redeem, make problems go away, ends sufferingTo escape the 'Drama Triangle', one must surrender being 'right'. I may be right. I may be wrong. It doesn't matter. Can you be okay with saying, 'I don't know'?

The core of your purpose are found on your fingerprints. Although the lines on your hands change, your fingerprints are formed in utero and never change. Your hand analysis will tell you who you are and why you are here (how you are to make a difference in the world). It also reveals your blind spots. There are 'Master Paths' and 'Student Paths' in your markings. They indicated how you feel and operate when you are living into your purpose and when you are not (the 'student' path). After having checked all the boxes that she thought were going to lead her to the happiness she craved, something deep inside her was still missing. Purpose emerged through her most difficult time; an entangled divorce with two children, a very opinionated Italian family without much support. She developed tools and strategies to untie the knots of divorce that bound her and started living a life of freedom. In her coaching she guides women through untying the knots of divorce and teaches them how to emerge into their highest self. Show NotesWomen often make check lists of what they think they want when they're growing up and imagining their future. But, those lists are often incomplete (simply because we don't know everything!).Having a relationship with ourselves is often left off that list (cultivating love for ourselves and taking care not to lose ourselves in service to our family). When we divorce, we experience a crisis of identity. "I'm no longer someone's wife". It can feel like we've lost ourselves. If you are considering divorce, do NOT make a decision from a place of reaction. Get a coach who can be neutral (not a friend, not a family member) and who can give you tools and processes to work through it. Get into a place emotionally where you can make good decisions. It is normal to feel isolated when you're going through a divorce. You may feel numb but you have to be willing to really look at what's happening and feel your emotions. Just like a caterpillar, you are in a transition and you have to go through it to emerge. A coach can help you learn to dismantle stories, defuse triggers and through unconditional love for yourself and others, find a way to forgiveness and freedom. ====================If you're interested in being a guest on the Liberated Life, I'd love to hear from you:robin@quittingculture.com
