I am joined by my friend Everett (they/them) to answer this week's question, using it as an excuse to talk about gender, queering, and heterosexualizing. Question from Mohera: I was watching TikTok and there’s a trans man I follow who put up a video about girls asking him if they are still straight if they date him. He said, “of course you are, I’m a man! Trans men are men!” I totally get what he’s saying but after everything you’ve talked about with queerness, I had some questions about this. I don’t want to be problematic so I’d like to hear what you think. While I 100% agree that trans men are men, it seems weird to me to act like a relationship with a trans man would be exactly the same as with a cis man. I think it would be a lot different to date someone who had had some of the same experiences as me and could relate to me better on those levels, and who had different life experiences from that of a cis man. It seems weird to just brush that off as the same exact thing and move on. Today I am flying solo for my first Pynk Spots advice episode! I answer a question from Anonymous (she/her):My depression and anxiety have been exacerbated by quarantine. I’ve heard disassociating and disassociation in mental health communities but haven’t researched it much. In a conversation with a friend, I mentioned that I have been having a hard time and feel like I’ve been disassociating. She immediately told me that is not a term I should use for ‘zoning out’ (not what I said) because it’s a mental health condition that her sister has and it’s really serious and scary.I thought it was a broader term than the symptoms she described that her sister has so now I’m confused, and I’m also hurt that she felt the need to jump in and focus on that instead of being with me in a vulnerable moment. I often feel like a ghost when I’m alone for an extended period of time, or when I’m feeling very depressed I find myself disconnecting from how my body feels.I know you have talked about disassociating before and was wondering if you would be comfortable talking about your experiences and help me to understand if this is what is happening to me, as I don’t want to appropriate the term if it’s not. Thursday here on the Dr. Greenthumb Podcast we got GF aka The godfather in the house and Bobo. The crew goes over Tony A being a guest yesterday and reflect on his impact again. B-Real talks about Bobo's first times coming around the Cypress Hill crew and initiating him in. The Dr. and Bobo remember smashing the dj equipment after set after set when touring in the early years before cell phone cameras and every show being captured. The Godfather asks if anyone has been caught smoking boot before and Bobo mentions a time back in the days where they found boof in Brazil but the Dr assures us all that now a days it is better. GF tells the story of Delo of the WWF days got him some boof sent to him instead of the GOOD GOOD they promised that was coming. Well Delo promised GF that Chronic but it wasn't good and GF was not having it and took him wrestlers court. B-Real goes on about a time he's performing and he smelled a horrible smell coming from Bobo's area and he thought it was a stink bomb. After the set and Dougie tells B-Real it was their tour manager was farting into an industrial fan that was pointing to them on stage. These were very powerful farts and both Bobo and the Dr. were beyond confused during the show so they took him to homie court and had all the paper work actual printed and sent to his hotel room. Bobo was his lawyer and of course he lost that case being it was so hard and B-Real was the prosecutor and really went after it. A plea bargain was placed and he was not allowed to be on stage for a few weeks and when he came back everyone was terrified of him being near a fan after that. The shots of mezcal get poured and Gf felt like Bobo started taking digs at him and the dogs got sicked on Bobo. B-Real tells GF the story of his hollywood neighbors hating him but he had a rottweiler that did NOT like Bobo and caught him lacking in the jacuzzi one time he got out when B was busy in the house. The art requests were made to resident artist Teeny Mane. The magic curtain produced some Valaso Salsa for the crew to enjoy and the doors to the Insane Asylum open up for crazy questions from the 5150's. The Dr. and podcast in tow with Eric Bobo in the house welcomes legend Bishop Magic Don Juan to sit in on this Monday. The guys go over a legendary fight night with Mike Tyson facing off with Roy Jones Jr over the weekend. The fight lived up to the hype in the guys eyes also with B-Real pointing out Mike was motivated for the humanitarian aspect of fighting again for charity and not for a champion belt. Everyone agreed the real moment of the night unfortunately was Nate Robinson getting knocked out by Jake Paul, famously hated YouTube who just plained out performed Nate. Snoop Dogg commentating the fight was a true master piece making it a more entertaining event and with Snoop performing the Dr. notes that him and Wiz both were able to perform on PPV while smoking weed. The Internet is undefeated non the less with the memes that followed destroying Nate Robinson really. Mike and legends like him remind us of the Big 3 League for basket ball players put on by Ice Cube. C-Minus asks The Don about his first time smoking weed and how it has changed from when he was younger. Bishop details how he would help out with work growing up and that weed be the brick kind off swag back then but a pound was fairly cheap. He smoked and went on a trip his first time that had him praying he would never smoke again if he survived it. The Bishop also talks about quarantine effecting lovers and teenagers in 2020 that is destroying relationships and making it tough times for younger people with the pressures of dating online. The young rappers are also not able to enjoy this success Don Juan goes into today because the game isn't set up to help them make good decisions. B-Real gives advice to the younger rappers to avoid being involved in street politics when you do end up becoming successful due to envy and jealousy from the streets that you made it. Bishop gives a final advice to not bring gang banging mentality into entrepreneurship because you can't put your team into that when it is more of a problem than a corporate business.
