Andy explains what Buttermilk Creative does and shares his thoughts on packaging trends The right time for emerging brands to invest in product packaging How Andy helps clients work through the required information for their product's packaging How Buttermilk Creative was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic Andy's favorite bourbon bottle design and his advice to emerging CPG brands In this episode… Branding and packaging are very important for a CPG brand because they act as the face of the business to the world. Your design says a lot about the type of products sold by your business and acts as a source of information to the public. Plus, your branding and packaging will ultimately provide an avenue for communication with your customers. After a few years in business, a brand may be forced to redesign its branding and packaging — at least, if the brand is hoping to evolve and meet the demands of its customers. Why? As the business grows, the brand gets to understand more about what appeals to its customers, which can then be incorporated into the packaging. Andy Kurtts, the Founder and Creative Director of Buttermilk Creative, is Steve Cleere's guest in this episode of the NexxtLevel Brands Podcast, where they discuss product design and packaging for CPG brands. They talk about the importance of product design, the right time to redesign packaging, and what emerging brands should consider when developing their product design. On this episode I ask the question what is the problem with violence? My guest today is experienced Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Instructor and trainer to the UK Forces and Police Service - Andy Roberts In the modern world we have lived in relative peace time for a number of years but that peace and the freedoms we enjoy today was achieved through extremely violent times within the last century alone. However the place of violence in society, whilst necessary has been demonised in recent times and conflated around a number of other issues. In my conversation with Andy we discuss: How Andy first got into martial arts as a child and why he has made a career from teaching others to defend themselves and others. The life skills that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Martial Arts teach us that are applicable to life in the real world and widely applicable The utopia some people are living in right now which is having a negative (and sometimes catastrophic) impact on basic situational awareness The transformational that occurs when adults and children learn the discipline, self responsibility and self accountability that comes with BJJ The manner in which the media is manipulating the message around violence that is both proportionate and necessary in law enforcement **To grab a FREE copy of my new e-book The Dad Blueprint https://www.thedadscircle.com/e-book (click here)** **To join my EXCLUSIVE Brotherhood for Dads - The Dads Circle https://www.thedadscircle.com/sales-page-21617942919924 (click here)** Get involved and find out more To get involved with the conversation on social media we are on https://www.facebook.com/guildofdads/?modal=admin_todo_tour (Facebook), https://www.instagram.com/guildofdads/ (Instagram) & https://twitter.com/guildofdads (Twitter) If you want to join the Guild of Dads you can do so via our https://www.facebook.com/pg/guildofdads/groups/ (Facebook Group) Episode show notes can be found on our https://guildofdads.com/ (website) If you like what we are doing, leave a rating and review https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/guild-of-dads-vision-action-meaning/id1489225209 (here)

Andy is one of the most talented musicians I know. Some people think of musical talent as a preternatural gift for shredding through neoclassical riffs on guitar or ripping through Chopin concertos as a pre-teen. In Andy’s case, this talent manifests itself as incredible taste and intuition for songwriting and audio production. When you hear a song written by Andy — whether it’s the, uh, powerviolence of Weekend Nachos or the alt rock throwback of Sourmouth — you know it’s an Andy song. Fortunately, Andy gets to share his gift with others not just with his own music but through his work as a producer and audio engineer at Bricktop Recording. I didn’t expect to make ill-founded quantum mechanics analogies with Andy in this conversation about songwriting, but that’s what happened. That will tell you he’s a smart guy, but Andy also understands the real world of training and nutrition and consults some of the world’s top athletes to elite performance levels. There are many reasons why I love the guy: he’s a great human, he loves strength and conditioning, he’s from Washington State and he loves hip-hop; which pretty much seals the deal for me. Andy’s also the co-author of the best-selling book, “Unplugged: Evolve From Technology To Upgrade Your Fitness, Performance, and Consciousness” and has been featured just about everywhere including on the Joe Rogan Podcast. In this episode we dive into the principles of training and nutrition that are based on science but also work in the real world, how to spot B.S. and fake guru’s, and many insights on how to become a great coach in the real world and gets results with your clients. I want to ask you a question real quick... how many people do you know could be diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor? Yet they go on to become a national level weightlifter, they're nominated for an Emmy, they've written their own book, they are a marketing director at their own business, and on top of all that they are a mother. Well that is exactly what today's guest, Andy Ptacek, has accomplished. Today is unlike any interview I've had in the past and that is no knock on any of our previous guests. This is an episode that is so special for so many different reasons. If there is any episode where it really talks about how the weight room transcends into the boardroom, life, and how strain can really amplify our ability as people and professionals in a myriad of different ways, this is it. If you have any questions after this episode, reach out to Andy as she is a tremendous resource. Enjoy! Topics Andy and I discuss today: Andy's introduction The earth-shattering news of receiving word that you have an inoperable brain tumor and how the fear of not being able to raise your own children kicks in The battles along the way after having a brain tumor surgically removed and learning how to overcome this adversity How Andy processed that her life was on a short clock and how her reality became a gift The challenges of continuing to train in weightlifting with a PICC line IV How Andy got to the good place she is in now by using perspective and being so aware of the journey she was on Reach out to Andy: Via Andy's personal website: andythenewgirl.com Via business website: liquisdigital.com Via Instagram & Twitter: @andythenewgirl Sign up for my course: https://courses.artofcoaching.com/signup Follow me on social media: Via Instagram: @coach_BrettB Via Twitter: @coach_BrettB Subscribe to my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChxkPJr4WMhAeQUlOu6ld-w Learn More About My Courses, Clinics, and Live Events At: artofcoaching.com
