This week, Jake and Bob explore how inner healing is rooted within the tradition of the Catholic Church. Drawing from the Catechism, they discuss the three expressions of prayer—vocal, meditative, and contemplative—and how each form is incorporated within the inner healing process. He praises God for granting an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and reserved in heaven. Trials and suffering are depicted as means to refine faith, which is more precious than gold. Peter emphasizes that salvation has been foretold by the prophets and revealed through Christ. He urges believers to live holy lives, fully setting their hope on the grace to come. As obedient children, they are called to be distinct from the world and to live in reverent fear, knowing they were redeemed by the precious blood of Christ. Peter reminds them that the will of God endures forever and that they have been born again through the living Word.  We are reminded in this passage that our hope is not rooted in anything temporary but in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
