The Electricity Authority said market options were available to big power users during the winter price spike that some blamed for their closure. The closures prompted the EA – the regulator – to investigate the options available to big power users, and it found hedges available tended to be lower than the overlapping average ASX price at the time. Last month, a number of Kiwi businesses, including Pan Pac, Winstone Pulp and Oji were forced to close, citing surging electricity costs. ERANZ chief executive Bridget Abernethy says the prices were higher than usual - but the companies had alternative options to bring their costs down. A Malaysian environmentalist said she doesn't want New Zealand sending any more of its rubbish to her country, with some recycling plants allegedly already polluting local neighbourhoods and waterways. Oji is closing its Penrose Pulp and Paper Mill in December with the loss of 75 jobs. The closure means Aotearoa will be sending another hundred thousand tonnes a year of cleaned wastepaper to Malaysia for recycle; bringing the total shipped offshore to three hundred thousand tonnes per annum, Environmentalist Lay Peng Pua spoke to Lisa Owen.
This week on the Raw Politics podcast: Is the Minister of the Week, Paul Goldsmith, an ideologue? Plus, awkward business closures for the coalition and Chris Hipkins' leadership.Newsroom senior political reporter Marc Daalder, Newsroom Pro managing editor Jonathan Milne and co-editor Tim Murphy discuss the minister's harder line push this week on laws cracking down on gangs, changing his mind to allow police to search private homes for evidence of patches. We ask if he is a natural anti-crime hardman or if he's being egged on by the fringe parties in the coalition and is enjoying their approval. The Waitangi Tribunal report on the Government's planned amendments to the Marine and Coastal Areas (Takutai Moana) Act would have shamed any other minister at any other time, but its criticisms of Goldsmith for his motivation, facts, process, consultation and evidence have been ignored by the Government. The panel discusses the latest industrial closure, of the Oji mill at Penrose, and how these kinds of events can unfairly, or fairly, lie at the feet of an incumbent government. Could the coalition have done more to save jobs here and in earlier regional closures, and would a Labour government have done anything differently? Our reader question asks if Chris Hipkins is taking a risk heading to the UK for that country's Labour Party conference when a poll shows his personal rating plummeting for preferred Prime Minister. The panel is unmoved, despite Government MPs delighting in teasing Labour's caucus this week about a coup. Finally, the panelists recommend something to read, listen to or watch on the weekend ahead.--------------------This week's recommendations:Marc: Our own Jonathan Milne's piece at Newsroom delving into a major fisheries Treaty case brewing in the backgroundTim: Audrey Young's timely explainer on all the Government's law changes targeted at things MāoriJonathan: The Economist reports on a British Medical Journal study on why Australians live so long.--------------------Raw Politics will be available every Friday, and you can watch it on YouTube too.Read more on newsroom.co.nz.
Soaring power prices and rising labour costs have combined to force the closure of a third mill, taking 72 people's jobs with it. The Japanese owned Oji Fibre Solutions said it had no other option but to shut down its paper recycling plant in Auckland and lay off the staff. Many of those now feel they have no choice but to take their skills overseas. The closure comes just three weeks after 230 workers at Winstone Pulp International were told those two mills were closing for good. The Oji workers, some of whom have been there for decades, are left trying to figure out what to do next, Melanie Earley reports.
On the Heather du Plessis-Allan Drive Full Show Podcast for Wednesday, 18 September 2024, 9 people have been killed and almost 3000 killed after pagers made for Hezbollah were manipulated and exploded in Lebanon. Terrorism expert Greg Barton says it's almost certain Israel is behind the attack. Where will all our paper be recycled now that the Oji paper mill is set to shut? Nicki Nicol from the NZ Olympic Committee tells Heather she's sure we're not seeing the end of the Commonwealth Games, with Glasgow confirmed to host the games in 2026. Plus the Huddle debates whether we need to stop public servants working from home and make them return to the office five days a week.Get the Heather du Plessis-Allan Drive Full Show Podcast every weekday evening on iHeartRadio, or wherever you get your podcasts. This episode features a dynamic conversation with Oji and Ezinne Udezue, both Chief Product Officers at Typeform and WP Engine, respectively. The Udezue's draw from their extensive experience as product leaders to discuss the concept of customer listening and its role in full stack product management. They emphasize the shift from treating product releases as fixed-time projects to ongoing products that require continuous tracking, support, and market engagement. The discussion centers on the importance of balancing business demands with customer delight and the need to build a "listening machine" within organizations to continuously gather and integrate customer feedback into the product development process. Our conversation provides practical insights for product leaders on how to effectively listen to customers, drive product improvement, and enhance customer retention.A few highlights:Transition from Project to Product: The modern market expects products to be enduring concerns, rather than fixed-time projects. This shift necessitates continuous tracking, support, and market engagement for products, impacting the brand and its market approach.Importance of Customer Listening: Oji and Ezinne emphasize the importance of listening to customers to refine products and achieve customer delight. They argue that delight leads to customer loyalty and retention, which are crucial for profitable growth. They also distinguish between listening (tuning into existing feedback channels) and discovery (finding new opportunities).Building a Listening Machine: Product leaders should create systems within their organizations to continuously listen to customers and inform the product roadmap. This process involves collecting customer feedback, triaging it, and integrating it into the product development process. Our guests describe this as building a "listening machine" that operates continuously, much like a circulatory system in a body. We'd love to hear from you! Slave empires rule the largest continents -- bastions of technology from the machine age that stripped the planet millennia ago.Hidden at the edge of the world a more vibrant people are rising to challenge them: a lineage who grasped the power of life and death to transmute the human heart.Among them is Oji Anabasi -- podgy, hairy, sex-obsessed and terrified of death. In other words, a typical remnant sapiens on a planet long claimed by a new breed of people. But what could primitive Oji offer such astonishing people? His story, in four parts, is told through the eyes of his wilful mother, bittersweet nursemaid, steadfast wife and ardent advocate. One relic human cannot change the course of evolution, but a single mutation might.*****There's more from the Strange and Beautiful Network!Listen to Rachel, Kate, and Hannah discuss spicy books, serious books, and everything in between (but mostly spicy!). About Joshua Whitehead: Joshua Whitehead is an Oji-nêhiyaw, Two-Spirit member of Peguis First Nation (Treaty 1). He is author of the award-winning novel Jonny Appleseed and the poetry collection full-metal indigiqueer, and he is editor of Love after the End. He is assistant professor in the departments of English and international Indigenous studies at the University of Calgary. About Making Love with the Land: In Making Love with the Land, his first nonfiction book, Whitehead explores the relationships between body, language, and land through creative essay, memoir, and confession. In prose that is evocative and sensual, unabashedly queer and visceral, raw and autobiographical, Whitehead writes of an Indigenous body in pain, coping with trauma. Deeply rooted within, he reaches across the anguish to create a new form of storytelling he calls “biostory”—beyond genre, and entirely sovereign. Through this narrative perspective, Making Love with the Land recasts mental health struggles and our complex emotional landscapes from a nefarious parasite on his (and our) well-being to kin, even a relation, no matter what difficulties they present to us. Whitehead ruminates on loss and pain without shame or ridicule but rather highlights waypoints for personal transformation. Written in the aftermath of heartbreak, before and during the pandemic, Making Love with the Land illuminates this present moment in which both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people are rediscovering old ways and creating new ones about connection with and responsibility toward each other and the land. Intellectually audacious and emotionally compelling, Whitehead shares his devotion to the world in which we live and brilliantly—even joyfully—maps his experience on the land that has shaped stories, histories, and bodies from time immemorial.

Instagram is Rolling Out NFT Tools This Week, Letting Digital Collectors Clearly Show That They Own an Image Transcript: [00:00:00] Today on all about affordable NFTs. Can we stop saying blue chip NFT? We'll get into that at first, Andrew, what he's seen in the news? [00:00:10] Well, I think you know, this is maybe alluding to one of the things that I'm seeing in the news because ah, we saw this as Zuki has been. Maybe claim to be a blue chip and Ft who that has taken a big hit. The the founder came out and exposed himself to have been a pro Ben, the founder of three previous projects that, you know, you can debate the, the, how much of rugs they were, but he definitely took a lot of ease and didn't deliver everything. [00:00:42] Deleted socials, maybe impersonated a female persona in a, in a Twitter does account for one of the projects. So all these things, so. That's a Zuki project clearly fell out of the blue chip status quickly. The floor went from over 20 to under 10 fairly quickly. Although I believe it's still holding around 10, somewhat, surprisingly to me, I haven't looked at the last day or so. [00:01:10] But yeah, that's a, that's one that I think is maybe triggering the the title here is I think we've got to look at this. There's no such thing as a blue-chip in NMT because they are an FTS. Pictures, they're JPEGs. They are digital files. And we've only been doing this for how long there's the oldest ones are like six years old. [00:01:31] I mean, like the oldest, oldest, oldest, come on, you know, there's no such thing. We know that there's no value assigned to these are most of the time. So there's no such thing as blue chip. We got to get over that. Right. But that's what we were seeing out there in I don't know, other craziness that we didn't even get to talk about last episode [00:01:50] It was, it was a bombshell that this went off and like, it was like everywhere. And then suddenly it was just, we didn't even mention it last time. Cause it just like, you know, it would have been the entire focus of a whole episode, but you're like, ah, well, so it goes, you know, like what? [00:02:04] Yeah. Do you know what the floor actually is on a Suki now, did you [00:02:07] Yeah, it's a little over 10. I just peaked it. So it's, you know, the community is holding strong, but there's a lot of A lot of negative, a lot of negative pressure there. And also it's just, I can't get behind the impersonation elements. The, you know, I want to be careful because founders are allowed to fail. However, the way you fail is very important in crypto and rugging is just something that's gotta [00:02:31] mean, you could fail, but better disclose what your failures are, disclose your past projects. Say what you're doing now to learn from that. Not after the fact not this was, you know, and I listened to a Twitter spaces that he went on with. Andrew, Wing's a kind of social NFG, social media personality. [00:02:51] And, you know, it was really disappointing because he gave very run-around answers. Wasn't. As much as far as follow-ups and didn't seem to really understand why people were upset with the whole situation. So little unclear to me why he wrote the article. There were some rumors that others knew about this and were kind of forcing him to come out about it or else they were going to meet the news. [00:03:14] So I don't know about the veracity of that, but there's also the, I don't know maybe doing this when when there's. A lot of other negative news, you know, to hopefully have people sort of move on quickly. And I don't know. We'll see what happens here. You know, I'm looking at the sales right now and they are solid. [00:03:31] There's a lot of sales happening. So he is certainly taking in a lot in royalties as these 10 plus eats sales. Just roll in every, a few minutes here. [00:03:41] Yeah, well, it's like as, as they trade hands, he does well on volume. So, you know, okay. You know, not a project that I kind of ever got into around another title and you're going to be seeing, I think a lot of this is the, this from Bloomberg Bloomberg out of blue-chip NFT collections hit harder than Bitcoin in crypto. [00:04:02] And so it's, you know, it's definitely true where you're not down 30% or, you know, under a hundred EAs on board apes and punks have fallen as well. You know? I don't know. What do you see in this? [00:04:14] I mean, it's an attention grabbing headline. I'm not, it doesn't mean a whole lot. I don't know what blue chip means also. I mean, over what period, you know, if we want to say a year ago, Four dates have done pretty well compared to Bitcoin. If we want to go, you know, a week ago, it's different, you know, I mean, that's a sort of how, how it goes. [00:04:35] It really depends what you're measuring. So I don't know. And they're using the term blue chip, which I wouldn't. I [00:04:42] Yeah. that's, the blue and that's the blue chip use, right? That's why I had to include it. I had to include [00:04:46] as that is funny. And you know, they certainly, I don't know if you're going to look at the non Bluetooth. I would say gets a lot worse. [00:04:54] Yeah. Okay. Instagram rolling out and hefty tools this week. I guess it depends on when you're listening to this, but they're letting digital collectors show that they own a image. So there you go. Following the, you know, falling with Instagram what Facebook always does, which is copy and paste, ironically for NFTs in terms of features that Twitter has already rolled out. [00:05:17] So now that. Maybe I, you know what, there's no like, oh, this'll bring in everybody. It is another little sort of minor move of web two to web three that might interest seven people [00:05:29] Yeah, and it's not a real big move. I did notice that they're working with a few different chains, including polygon. I think that's what they were launching on initially. So I think that is interesting. That polygon is being used there. I think we'll see. [00:05:40] I can bring my horses. I can get my horses into play. [00:05:43] Well, yeah, and I think it's good for that, for that layer to start getting used or getting used by bigger, bigger customers that maybe need to roll up more of these transactions. So I think that's good to start seeing them actually realize that that could be a problem later on, rather than just going on a theory of only, and assuming that it will just work. [00:06:05] And I, you know, I don't think that's gonna work for Instagram users when the fee, when they see these. Are insane on the Ethereum network. So going into polygon sounds like the right move and it makes me a little more optimistic of a polygon as well. Not that I haven't been big on polygon to begin with. [00:06:22] Yep. Nah, I'm in long polygon, but been a little painful to be old in the old MADEC token, as of late [00:06:27] Yeah, absolutely. Right. Hey, you [00:06:29] bit. The interesting nuance here, just speaking from my own perspective and what I've, what I've seen is that, like I have an Instagram account. There's no way in the world. [00:06:39] Then I would change my picture to an NFT because I have a different personality there. My web two socials are very, very, very, very different. It's like, there's this like, you know, [00:06:52] nighttime, I'm mostly stable daddy during the day. I have to be a reputable human being and also a dad and also somebody on social who's posting pictures of the kids. [00:07:01] Like I'm not going to put up. You know, I'm joking. I'm not going to post my, my, my horse as my profile pics. So, okay. On the positive side though, I'm a little [00:07:12] Maybe that says more about your NMT collection then. [00:07:15] I've Hey, maybe I can, I'm still trying to get one of these nouns, like that might do it now. It's just, you know, I just don't like the signal unless it's like designed for that, but you're right. [00:07:25] Maybe I [00:07:26] Yeah. Well, I think that's something that we need, you know, that we'll need to be champ or overcome. That is a challenge. If people don't want it at all, they're into it. You know, what is the right way for Instagram to maybe come into this? And I don't know what it is. I don't know. I'm not sure if they're just trying to force their way in here, but you know, if we need people to come in to make this grow, you know, we're going to have to see some other adoption than, than what we have right now. [00:07:49] but the Domino's are there. Right? Because if you look at Oculus and that whole ecosystem, you know, pulling in NFTs is just one step to the left. Now they're beginning to go in that direction of allowing these these entities. And like that starts to get me interested if suddenly I can like bring in my skins or whatnot into, you know, moveable elements. [00:08:09] So we're seeing the beginning of the beginning. Something to be hopeful for, but again, I'm not holding the breath. All right. Any else? Anything else in the headlines before we move? Move into [00:08:19] No, nothing else from me. [00:08:21] Okay. So I have got an affordable project kind of. That's the funny thing is I've been talking about this prior to, you know, everything melting down and I still like it as a play. [00:08:33] The Bankless Dow. So Bankless is, I would say the number one most listened to crypto podcast or for certainly Ethereum based podcasts. They have, you know, guests like. You know, the metallic and they pretty much can get anybody on this. On this podcast. They have a tremendous listenership, a very active discord in the Bankwest stout essentially is by membership. [00:08:57] If you have a 35,000 of the Bankless token, and that then gets you access to you know, their community, their, their alpha, their conversations, and also just a ton of voting and a very impressive network. And so that. You know, it's a token, mind you and everything is a pretty volatile. I don't know if you've noticed, but their play here is coming back to NFTs in their conversation with Kevin Rose, who you remember is behind moon birds. [00:09:28] And their conversation there, they were kind of picking Kevin Rose's brain about, Hey, how would you do an NFT drop if you were us? And his first statement was just like, you've got to reward the people who were there at the beginning, the people who are your original holders and people that are downloaders would be potentially one of those groups. [00:09:47] So this is, as you can see speculation upon speculation, but at the very least, you know, I think you're, you're part of a community that has attention and has loyalty and has. And when we think about things, that'll survive a fire. I know that they are committed to continuing that podcast. They have survived previous bear markets, one of those indicators, and I think they might be around. [00:10:10] So I don't think an NFE is coming anytime soon, but when prices are low might be interesting. What is your hot take on this, Andrew? [00:10:18] I like it take, huh. Now these guys have been around building. They have been wiped out. They were around in 2018 and I listened to their podcast all the time. I think they produce some of the best content, really insightful. They know. The crypto industry. They like, I mean, as well as anybody that can talk about it. [00:10:38] And I really liked that they've been here when nobody was paying attention when they lost everything. When everybody left, if that did happen again, I'm pretty sure they would continue doing the same thing. So that makes me a very I don't know, I'm very bullish on, you know, being part of anything that they will do. [00:10:57] And I think that is a great way to get in just to any project that they may end up doing, you know, who knows what they, what they have planned. They definitely seemed interested in maybe launching something. They've got the bank west Dow, and I know they, they talk about building even more. They built quite a following. [00:11:15] And I think this is, this is worth getting into, if you, you know, if you're, if you believe in the Ethereum system at all, you know, they're going to be here. So I like it. [00:11:26] Awesome. And then I have a quick one from our community, actually. And this is one from Johnny. And this is I'm going to mess up the name of this one, for sure. AVS anime, AVS anime. And that the artist is basically created these generated images, which are very sort of uplifting pro-social and passionately. [00:11:52] They're supporting the LGBTQ. I am community and with part of this and they're you know, they're looking to, they have not disclosed how much they're giving, but they're getting a part of it away. But really, you know, just cool looking images and full disclosure. I don't own any I will say they mint it out. [00:12:12] I believe it. [00:12:12] was 10,000 and there are about 3,400 owners of is in the affordable range of 0.01, three. And they do have a discourse. [00:12:22] Yeah, I really like the art on these they're cool pieces and it sounds like a cool project to be a part of, if you just want to support this. Cause I don't know a ton more about it, but I'm glad someone was able to bring this to us. Thank you, Johnny. [00:12:35] Yeah, they stated that half of the mint profits will be donated. And I don't know about continued sales, but worth worth checking out a unique art. I will say that this is not like sort of, you know, lift and shift from a, another one. Seemingly hand drawn and then sort of again, generated cool stuff. [00:12:52] Thank you. All right. Can we, can we start over? I mean, can We stop saying blue chip? [00:12:59] We may be doing that right now. We may be in the process of that. Although I have a feeling we're just knocking them off one by one. [00:13:06] Yes until there's none left. Okay. So I thought it'd be fun maybe to start with like, you know, in like Bluechip parlance, right? Like when you're talking about blue chip, it was first described as high price stocks in 1926. remember that date, right? When an employee at Dow Jones observed that certain stocks trading at $200 or more per share were like, kind of like a poker chip that of, you know, blue, white, and red, where blue was simply more and, you know, kind of funny that it was coined in a period of time where the 1920s were pretty volatile with regard to stocks, but you know, it really refers to a blue chip. [00:13:47] That has been operation for this a generally a number of years, but you're thinking like Coca-Cola Disney, right? These are companies that have been in the game for 30 plus years. And so you're, you're sort of really thinking about what a company that has survived and up and down market. Maybe multiple times a history of execution has delivered on promises time and time. [00:14:12] Again, you know, has value in the. No, maybe even throws off a dividend. Like there's just, it has very clear characteristics. They're seen as less volatile investments highly liquid, a lot of these words I'm using and not [00:14:27] They don't describe the NFCS [00:14:29] I've been describing. [00:14:30] I mean, I think it'd be hard to, it's hard to even describe that too many stocks. In today's age because things are so volatile compared to them. And, you know, I know that it was quite volatile then, but that the, the day to day volatility and the way that things shift quickly now is, is quite different. [00:14:48] In much faster trading, we didn't have people that could just trade at at their fingertips at any point. So I think the idea that anything could be Bluechip especially. Such a ridiculously volatile and illiquid market, like NFTs is pretty preposterous. Really. [00:15:08] Y it kind of irks me though, is the false sense of stability. I think it imbues on things that just happen to be very expensive. There's a huge difference between something that is very expensive and something that is very. And I think that's like, let that sit for a second. And I get very uncomfortable when, you know, people start, you know, especially with people who maybe can't afford her, it's on the edge of what they can afford. [00:15:37] Start pining. After something that they had imagined would hold their value. You can even look at something like crypto punks, which is, you know, the, the OJI of OGs of, you know, what we look at for NFTs. Do you remember. The company got bought straight up. So that is just a different company now, Right. UGA labs now controls that asset. [00:16:01] And if they want to destroy, demolish change, whatever that brand, they can sure you own the asset. But I'm looking at these as like small companies that are running to drive the attention and value and utility. Of these assets and I, I, I don't think there's a single project. I could point to that even fits the following very base criteria, having survived a year or more, and also have lived through a bear market and crypto with the same team. There you go. If you, if you can check those boxes for me, go ahead and call it a blue chip. I'll give you a second. [00:16:42] Right. Yeah. We've definitely had an issue of people, conflating price with blue chip and we see over and over that high prices leave a long way to fall. And we're seeing, I mean, we are seeing them kind of be taken down and right now, you know, I guess people are still considering board apes and maybe punks. [00:17:01] Although, you know, you've got to think that punks over. We'll never be able to to challenge board apes as a brand in any way. I mean, they're owned by the same company that clearly wants board apes to be the king there. And, you know, they should, it would be wrong for them to let another brand challenge that, but, you know, what are the, what are the more tried and true brands? [00:17:24] There aren't any you know, larger labs probably had the longest Longest record, but I think they've done a lot to sort of tarnish their reputation and they've let go of the brand anyway. You know, I don't know that I, I'm not sure that, I mean, I certainly would not put board aids in a blue chip or even the team and the blue chip category at this point. [00:17:44] We've got to see, they've got a lot to prove. And at this point, the other side minting is you know, not looking great interns. How the energy market has fared since then. [00:17:56] Yeah. And just a week ago, had we been marching through the blue chips? We would have been a mentioning Zuki. [00:18:04] Exactly. Yeah. Zuki. I think the others that have been up there, I don't know, maybe a Clonex the, what have we had? And we've had a cool cats were up there at one point. I mean, right. Artifact. I mean, maybe because of the, you know, there's all these, all these. Priced are these, you know, these big collections that are priced high that are considered blue-chip. [00:18:26] And, you know, I think if people, especially when the price is, I want them to be blue-chip because you don't want to think that your 20 EPS could all of a sudden be worth for Eve and you know, the truth is that it can happen and we've seen, and we've seen what happens in when people run to get liquidity exchange, certain tokens for what they think it's worth. [00:18:48] And that there's not quite as much liquidity there as it was. As they believe, and it changes the value pretty quickly. And that can happen with your NFTs as well. [00:18:58] And, and in short order, because the market for the other side can, can vanish very, very quickly. All right. So again, I say it here, like if you've survived over a year and you've lived through a bear market, so it's like has to be over a year because bear markets come and go. With the same team, maybe you are a blue chip. [00:19:16] So right now there are no blue chips be very careful. And that's why we always like to make affordable small bets on what's. What's out there.

NFT News7 day market: https://cryptoslam.io/ External/Internal news: Crypto Friendly, Conservative Candidate Yoon Suk-Yeol Wins South Korea's Presidential Election Chris Dixon, Marc Andreessen back $30M fund exclusively investing in NFT art | TechCrunch Ukrainian Boxer Wladimir Klitschko Releases NFT Collection to Support Relief Effort Affordable projectChicken Derby - https://opensea.io/collection/chicken-derby Quick highlight on any past projects: Keep Us Honest Affordable Project Tracker Go through the AAA valuation checklist Theme discussion Transcipt: [00:00:00] Today on all about affordable NFTs. We're talking about the theme of NFTs are not anonymous. Anon. Why does the public seem to think that crypto and NFTs are well? We'll get into that topic, but first, Andrew, what do we highlight in the news? Is. [00:00:16] Yeah, so yeah, today. Yeah. Last week we talked a little bit about some somehow about politics and crypto seem to be coming together more and got news that this week a there are two crypto friendly presidential candidates in South Korea. [00:00:30] And I guess the more conservative candidate won out, but. In stark contrast to the current president there that has really tried to crack down on the crypto industry in Korea. So I think this is, I think this is a kind of, I don't know, big moment that crypto it will become a much bigger issue for politicians going forward. [00:00:51] We're already seeing Sort of being certainly not not shunned by the U S government. I think we're going to have this become a bigger issue for elections moving forward here in the U S just as it was in this election in Korea. So I think that's, it's just interesting to watch that. [00:01:07] And don't know. Did you, had you seen this at all, George? [00:01:09] I didn't see this one in particular, but I haven't seen Andrew Yang make a lot of rounds in the U S seen for his web three IO lobby group. And. You better believe the amount of politicians that are gonna wake up to the fact that wait a minute, if I have a pro crypto stance and a public facing wallet, I will get money. [00:01:29] It won't take too long for people to catch onto that. So I think the longterm ability for crypto to make its way positively into government and legislation is is [00:01:39] pretty bold. Yeah, absolutely. So the next newsletter I've got here, I just saw this as we were getting ready to record here was that some of the big partners from a 16 Z one of the big VC funds including Chris Dickson and mark Andreessen our IX or. [00:01:57] Backing a $30 million fund to invest in NFT art exclusively. So this is, these are art pieces. There's not a lot of detail on what type of art that will include yet, but that is a sizeable amount 30 million to go into NFTE art. As far as I do look at that market a lot and that is, that's a lot of art at this point. [00:02:18] There aren't a lot of pieces. That go for. The, even the six figure range in the art area you see some big sales on super air, but that is, we'll see where that, where they actually deploy that. I think that is that says a lot for the future of the crypto art market. I think [00:02:34] just focused on an empty art, mind you not like NFTs art. [00:02:39] I think that small extra three letters is so important because you're beginning to realize. As an, even an investment commodity or strategy here, it is being segmented based on the type of NFT and the utility. And we keep coming back to making it more of a larger platform, a concept like the internet and no, one's oh, you like that internet? [00:03:04] I third, only people that are weird or on the internet, okay, it's 1997. But we're starting to see. That type of nuance. So I was excited to see that also the other thought in my head for this is that I have it frequently also for certain Dows that collect a bunch of money to go buy super expensive stuff. [00:03:21] And I heard this mentioned on my first million podcasts, you should take a pause. Imagine if someone came to you with the investment opportunity to run around America and go buy the most expensive real estate you could possibly find that just happened to be pumping right now. You would maybe question that investment thesis, why would you run around buying the absolute most expensive homes? [00:03:44] And like you would question that, but you don't necessarily question [00:03:47] argue that the art market, the NFD art market has, is not exactly pumping right now and has been largely overlooked. In most of this activity that has focused so much on 10,000 character or, collections. So I think that, that there is a difference there. [00:04:03] I think that, we'll see what they, where they go with it. I imagine that my guess would be that there's going to be investment in some historical pieces because there, as we've done. About there were a whole lot of NFTs created in 2021, a lot more than we recreated ever before that. And I think that those are the ones that are often talked about in crypto OJI circles, as That's the proof that, you understood what was going on. [00:04:28] And so I think that those may be where they are. That would be my guess that they've looked to older pieces first that have more value as we are as more I'm sorry, less less supply than some of these later collections that. And as we know, there's a lot out there right now. And it's not hard to come by them, but to find the older pieces that you actually can see on the blockchain I speak minted at a certain time. [00:04:48] It's a little bit harder or a lot harder, I would say. So you read [00:04:52] that as like an intelligent approach to finding value in the market. I read it as, let me, let's let us go off by a whole bunch of apes and and. [00:05:00] We'll see what they do. These, they will say tend to, [00:05:03] Obviously we've drawn this point out, but I'm curious. [00:05:05] So if you were handed that sort of, that basket of money and an investment thesis, you would take it and say like, all right, let's start with this list of artists that have been overly. And look at a five-year horizon or 10 year horizon of saying like these people are just going to eventually be recognized as it, or even if they're not recognized, they simply have a place in glitch art or this style that came to pass between these years of ex. [00:05:31] Look, I, I certainly don't know what they're, what they are going to do, but yet if I were given that I would certainly look to invest in older pieces of NFT art and crypto art to people that were doing it before it was necessarily what we know it as now. Because one, like I said, the supply is so much lower in there is I think that there will be a lot more credibility given to this as to those people that were doing it before when, getting a $70 sale really meant something. [00:05:59] And now it costs $70 just to, to process the transaction. Maybe you're lucky right now that it's a little bit lower, it's like, It's really come a long way. So I think that there's going to be some importance given to that for the people that were doing it at that point, and that there's going to be more of a recognition that this is bigger, a bigger change. [00:06:17] Then the Naval we're giving it credit for there's an adoption of this new technology. And there's some proof that you maybe had that you were working on it at a certain time, and that it started to change things before it started to lead to what we are in right now. And, we may say that it's a cold market, but at the same time, as we said, it's 10 times the number of people that were doing this a year ago, [00:06:40] Yeah. [00:06:41] If you look at the history of sort of technology memorabilia, right? The first apple I iPod, like that has a value that first any S system and cartridge that has a value now, these are things you can no longer get these sort of min conditioned box items. And then that sense, like this is that, however, it doesn't degrade over time. [00:07:03] I would have. Would it be possible to create one of your dune analytics boards, like around like a handful of those artists tracking them back? Or is it like kinda tough? It sounds super rare, right? [00:07:13] Yeah. I, that one I thought about, I would like to get into that a little bit more than just looking at super rare. [00:07:20] Cause it's easy to look at super rare, but I'd like to know. Things across multiple in almost multiple platforms, they aren't always the easiest to identify. So it may make lewd actually looking at the specific token IDs, but and then grouping them together. But I think it would be nice to be able to get her an idea of what is actually out there, even in the, some of these older NFTs, because it's really, it's, I'd like to get a better idea of how many mints there were. [00:07:46] In 2018, 2019, or in 2017, that we know that punks were happening. Then, when there's a little bit of debate about some, which is what some of the first collections were in different areas, but it's still nothing compared to now when we've got dozens of projects launching every week and thousands of NFTs being minted, I don't know w we'll see what they do with this. [00:08:07] I am. I've thought about this a lot. Before this, that I think that some of those early pieces will hold historic value. We've seen this in different art movements as well, when there is a big shift some of the people that innovators that were doing it early, a couple of them will often rise to the top and be the people that. [00:08:24] Everyone looks to as some of the influential leaders that started the movement before it was popular. So we'll see if it happens here. It, it has played out like that in other art movements and technology movements before. And this is bringing them together. [00:08:39] I think there's anything affordable there or is it all like aggressively priced? [00:08:42] And then you're like saying like, all right, I'm going to drop, 10,000 in the hope that it becomes a million dollar. Sorry to use dirty Fiat [00:08:49] for, yeah, that's a good question. I think you have to think about it somewhat in Fiat because we always we've talked about, I think these are a longer term play for the most part than some of these collections. [00:09:01] It's relatively unusual that, in the traditional art market that you would buy it, buy and sell a piece within the same year. I would say it's very unusual, especially because of the capital gains that come with it in the the U S anyway or the Catholic kids don't come with it. I'm sorry until one year you'd be paying just regular taxes, but anyway They move a lot faster in this market than the old markets, but it's still a lot slower than I've been in an empty collection where you can literally just list it the same day and maybe sell it. [00:09:30] I don't know. I think there is maybe some value there it's I haven't looked closely at the market recently. I am curious to maybe find what wallets, some of these buyers may be using, and then start looking at those a little bit more closely as they maybe start to deploy this. [00:09:46] Yeah, [00:09:47] that's a good plan. If we find any funny, good affordable projects We'll we'll bring it to y'all here. One more story we have here is the Ukrainian boxer. Vladimir Klitschko released an NFT collection to support the relief efforts in Ukraine. So this isn't an NFT that can be tracked as best as possible to support that will go toward the, the crisis unfolding in. [00:10:09] So there have been other NFT projects. Certainly there was like a promise of an NFT dropped by the Ukrainian government, I think. And then they they were a little busy with, the bullets and the Russians and they were like, ah, actually, no, but I'm, I'd be willing to bet a horse that that they will come out with something. [00:10:28] Hopefully they come out with it on a, a gracilis layer or something, or good old polygon. To to, to further people's ability to support the efforts there. [00:10:37] Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. I Like you said, there's been over 80 million funded to Ukraine at least tracks so far through crypto efforts. [00:10:45] I will, this is a cool collection and I hope we do see more something official from the government. I think that would help them help them a lot in terms of fundraising. And it would be a popular collection for a number of reasons [00:10:57] and watch this smooth transition. And speaking of. [00:10:59] Russia and Vladimir Putin, a true chicken of the region. Chicken Derby. Why not raise some check-ins so it was pretty smooth transition. There [00:11:09] we go. Yeah, chicken Derby. Let's get onto it. What do you have for us here? [00:11:12] Chicken Derby is basically chickens, meat, Zed run that has a racing game. They have been in a sort of phased roadmap launch that finally. [00:11:22] Cause I've been watching it for a little bit because it's been talked about chirp Tibet. If you will, that run discords they are these animated looking chickens that you submit and race. You paid. Drop them into a race right now, they are about to, it seems like move out of beta four, race racing, actually there'll be a free tier and a pay tier to race. [00:11:44] And it is a play to earn type of strategy here. Also a earn way play as well, because there's like a way to pay into a race. It's like the gambling element as well. The earning element, they are ridiculous looking. They have skills there are currently 33,000 and roughly 6,000 owners. The floor price is at 0.03, two, so very accessible. [00:12:06] And all I can really do is say like they're mimicking off of Zed run in many ways. And we'll hopefully learn about the mechanics that actually work. And, people are in fact playing this game. So I will say that Genesis horses in Zed around are incredibly valuable at this point. [00:12:22] But the chickens in here, there are four different breed types, 11 breed type. There are. They call them heritage dorking Lakin builders, Sultan and Sarama. And when you jump and find that link, you'll be able to see the varying amounts. Seromas the best dorking is the worst. My, my recommendation would be like, play around, look at rarity score, but actually. [00:12:44] The talent is what seems to derive the most value of the potential racing capability. The racing capability will be found out by the chicken based on the distance. It runs there's short, mid, long distances that are rung run, but basically more rare talents are, and the chicken is racing. It has a special ability to do something ridiculous, like freeze. [00:13:08] Or make them March in a circle or blow them up or toss them into a black hole or take a helicopter from last to first. So there's all of these special abilities that are just randomly done and some are far more powerful. And basically you'll be able to tell that from the talent drop down, That's where I would potentially start if I were getting into it full disclosure I'm a stable not a henhouse, so I don't intend to buy one, but I might change my mind, but it's something interesting to look at. [00:13:40] And it's at a time when the game is just finding its feet. So it has proven that they can Del develop a game. I get nervous. Too much getting in that period of time where there's no game and you're buying assets. But they've shown they can do a thing here. [00:13:54] Andrew, what insights [00:13:55] do you see here? So I'm looking at the website here which is somewhat curiously@bitlevin.com. Apparently that is the developer behind this. I was trying to find more about the developer says that the It's the team behind of final boss games. They're well-known for the game ganja farmer. [00:14:13] Note link on that ganja farmer had over 7 million downloads at once. Not super active at this point, but does have. Good reviews. Still, when you do a search for it, I'm a little disappointed. There's not a little bit more about the team. Looking at the website here there's 33,000 of the 33,333 of the chickens noticed. [00:14:35] Yeah, I dunno. It sounds interesting. I don't. It sounds somewhat like it's just a copycat of Zed and I'm not sure what what's going to entice users to try this versus one of the many of the stable games that you've brought to us like peg exe or is it, [00:14:51] yeah, I dunno. [00:14:52] It's pretty ridiculous. Like it doesn't take itself seriously. And it comes down to getting the game. If they can get the mechanic right. And people play it and it's fun. You know what, like this time, last year dose going was pumping like, okay, like dog coins pump, like, why not? [00:15:05] They're telling yet. [00:15:06] Maybe you just haven't had the time right [00:15:08] game. You, I had a dad pond. You get a deck? [00:15:11] Yeah. We each got one. [00:15:12] Cool. Alrighty. Moving into our theme. All right. Yeah. Our theme here, what do you got here to get NFTs are not anonymous. It is curious that everybody seems to think NFPS and crypto is so anonymous. That is not the case at all. [00:15:30] It's aggressively true and aggressively misunderstood. And how do I make the claim that it's missing? [00:15:35] One, because there's so many people, that end up making their like profile a, a punk or a board app and be like, oh no, this is me. I don't want to show my real identity. Like it would take an actual reporter, probably a lunch [00:15:50] break to find [00:15:51] you. And what's more, we see ridiculous things like, the Ivanka Trump NFT getting bought by her own wallet and being like, no, it was bought for somebody else. [00:15:59] Like not sitting there, [00:16:00] like you see [00:16:01] there's this assumption. I feel that because crypto in the past was a bunch of, hash numbers. And, the silk road type of ethos of oh no, you can never track anything and find it. It's actually incredibly trackable. And it may be that, the public or general perception just sees these hashes and be like, that's impossible to tell what's going on there. [00:16:25] It's no, that's a unique hash that's somebody's number. And they just run around with a number, doing whatever we want. Wet. It's more trackable than a cookie. You [00:16:31] can't escape it. Yeah, absolutely. This is a, it's more like a permanent one that you actually want to carry around with you because it has all of your assets. [00:16:39] So when you connect to a site, they can see who connected to their site and see what you have in your wallet, which means you people know, what kind of currency you have, what other NFTs you hold. You can also see, Do you want to dig into it? You can see what they've held in the past. [00:16:52] It's really not that hard to look at all these things. And generally speaking, then you can often see that there's an ENS Ethereum name, service, and name tied to it may not be their real name, but in many cases it is often you'll be able to find a Twitter account. There's so many non-anonymous ways. [00:17:07] So even if there's not a. A real name immediately available. It's often there, if you look off the surface, but this is, it's a kin to, if everybody could see all of your all of your stock trades, all of your everything that you're I know every game that you're playing, just see this on a public blockchain and be able to pull that up forever. [00:17:28] Everybody has this data. This is very different than just, Google or Facebook. It means that when you take an action in web three and sign a contract, anyone can see this. It's really quite different in this. Yes, it's a long 42 digit hash, but that's just a 42 digit hash and it follows you everywhere. [00:17:48] So there's, it's really not anonymous. Recently we talked about how some six year old cases we're resolved and, people were arrested, these things don't go away. The blockchain will record this and it is completely not anonymous. It's completely misunderstood. [00:18:04] And I guess there is. I at the beginning, people thought this, and it's in a concept that is proliferate, proliferate it over time and it's false. So we need to get that idea out there that this is when you take an action in this world, it will not only be known at that time. It will be known forever and will be found out if there is anything I'm not right about it. [00:18:25] I have two analogies, one early days of Facebook when it was just in colleges. I remember joining from my college and I was like, oh, I can post whatever the heck I want here because, oh, it's just my friends being connected. I had no concept of what network effects really were, what they meant. I had no concept of the Facebook roadmap, which was expand to absolutely everywhere and share absolutely everything about what I had done under a previous sort of social contract, I would say with platform in the same way that maybe certainly in the early days of [00:19:02] NFTs oh yeah, [00:19:03] it was. [00:19:04] Use a hash to find somebody, but over time because of network effects because of triangulation and the ability for us to use some of these tools, like there's a reason why some of those scammers have been caught now because tools are getting more sophisticated and the ability to de-anonymize those hashes is becoming a really readily available. [00:19:26] Another metaphor. I'll hold on that thoughts, do you agree? Is that. [00:19:30] Oh, absolutely. Yeah. There's there's a lot, there are a lot more people looking into this that are working on tracking these things that are actually keeping off-chain databases of who these who some of the more prominent wallets are. [00:19:42] It's even hard to, it's becoming hard to even think that you could move money around, even if you were able to to somehow, get a hack in there. And once you, if you have a sizeable amount, people are going to be able to track that forever. Most of, I think all of the Exchanges require some sort of a KYC element where know your customer, so they you've got to register your real name. [00:20:07] So when it comes out, when it comes out of crypto and into, real-world currency someone's still got that that isn't necessarily public, but up until that, Anyone can see it. And after that, it means that a, a company that reports to the sec can see it. There's not a lot of privacy here at all. [00:20:23] There are more companies working on privacy solutions for various layer twos. I don't know enough about those to understand how that's going to completely solve the anonymization. Yeah. [00:20:36] Yeah, I've seen a lot of these sort of privacy and privacy platforms come out there and it will come, the pendulum always swings back and forth, but right now it's really aggressive between toward everything you do is very public, very find-able and quickly accessible. [00:20:48] The other metaphor I have is to your point about the, can I see all of your assets? If somebody knows your address and your sort of IRL address your house or your apartment, they can look up. Certainly where you are, where you live, the average zip code income, they can look up if you had bought it and you can find the housing record of that. [00:21:06] They can find your information that way, but they, it stops there, but there is information associated with that address that, there's a reason why some people are like, yeah, I don't want to share that very readily, but it goes even beyond that, because then you could say, yeah, I could see all of your crypto holdings. [00:21:21] That is an isn't true. I will say if you looked at, either one of our wallets, for example, you would certainly see a stupid amount of horses and an amazing amount of art on your side. But there's also a lot of stuff. I have randomly staked places like I have just skittered about, cause I didn't want to put everything in to my main wallet and you'd have to know where to go to unlock. [00:21:40] And you don't [00:21:41] see [00:21:42] staked. In your wallet, cause you've technically put it somewhere and, promised on a contract, that'll come back to you. And when. [00:21:49] Yeah, that's a good point. And I've actually heard of, I've heard of someone that was hacked while had wildly had something staked. And the hacker had actually written a contract. [00:21:59] So that one day on staked, the token would immediately go back to the hacker, but they wrote something that I hired someone to write some sort of script. So that, that couldn't happen. But that's an interesting thing. So if you use that word. And then either lose access or someone else gains access to that wallet. [00:22:15] They can access those state tokens. They may not know where you have stake tokens, and those tokens could be currency or NFTs, but I'm like a [00:22:24] squirrel. I'm like an internet squirrel. [00:22:26] Know why I still look at yeah. That is a good point there where hidden things. [00:22:30] But you could see at least where you've sent various various FTEs or various tokens, you'd have to somehow. Filter out the ones that are just valid transfers to another wallet from those ones that are just being staked somewhere. So you'd have to know that the wallet is a staking wallet versus someone else's personal wallet. [00:22:47] So yeah, that does make it a little bit harder to track everything. And as we've talked about, almost everybody in crypto has at least a couple of wallets, if not three, four or more. And so I, I. It's a little harder to track everything, I would say. There are ways that you would be able to see see maybe related wallets. [00:23:07] If you see that there's maybe free trade, free NFTs being passed between the two or just a lot of transactions between the two wallets, you could certainly link those in that way. And there are tools we've mentioned some tools out there with tornado cash is one that helps to anonymize. [00:23:24] Transactions. And I would say that's really best if you just want to anonymize it for your own for your own sake on the web it's still going to get back to you in terms of any kind of, [00:23:35] can you Tornado Cash, NFT? [00:23:36] You can set up a new wallet and then just buy the NFT with that. [00:23:42] New wallet that is essentially not tracked to you. In this case, you maybe would send one Eve into the, into tornado cash. At some point you take it out to another wallet. That never is that from directly from a tornado cash. So it never is tied to your original wallet. So there's that hundreds or thousands of these transactions going in and out as long as it's a small amount, [00:24:03] but then by that NFT, [00:24:05] You will, if you buy it from yourself, you're gonna, you're gonna have that tied to you in some way. [00:24:10] I guess someone could just think it's a, yeah, I guess someone could just think it's a, the distinct buyer. Although if they hold just one NFT and maybe one purchase, it's probably a pretty, that to me would be a good sign. It's a related wallet. I'm thinking that you could do things if you just want it to be. [00:24:26] To start a new wallet and not have people necessarily track it. At the end of the day, you're still taking it out and I, it's not good for trying to avoid any taxes or anything like that. Definitely not saying that. And would strongly advise against trying to use it for that. It would really just be for the personal. [00:24:41] If people know that it's you or not, and I could see people wanting that sort of anonymous activity not everybody wants to go on, crypto, Twitter and brag about their NFP purchases. There are a lot of people that really don't like to talk about what they're purchasing or to have people know what they're purchasing. [00:24:58] So I could see that there are people that want that just for that reason. [00:25:01] Yeah. It's a good warning. I feel like there, there are some percent of people being like, oh, there's no way the government can tell that's my wallet. And you're like, boy, you're wrong [00:25:08] on that? Yeah. Just because they haven't found yet don't mean it not coming. [00:25:13] Absolutely. Like we said, that, that case from six years ago, just imagine the tools that'll be available in another six years. And [00:25:19] guess what? They'll make the statute of limitations as far [00:25:22] as they. Yeah. That'll change if necessary. Don't worry how there's always a way. [00:25:27] All right, Andrew. Thanks. [00:25:28] I think we've really bounced it around a good amount. Thanks for sharing. See out there. [00:25:32] All right. Bye George.

It's good hump day. I hope I don't get fined or sued for that. This is Elliot lane, host of cannabis daily. Hope you guys are having a wonderful morning starting your day off, obviously with news and insights on the cannabis markets. Thanks as always to Aaron Thomas for producing the show. And Benzing for hosting. We want to bring you daily insights on what to look for in cannabis stocks and the industry as at large. So let's dive right in tons to look at today. AgriFood, they make news about once a week, so we should come to expect them here. A G F Y listed on the NASDAQ is set to acquire lab society. This is a company specializing in distillation and solvent separation solutions for Canada. Extraction. I did not understand those words either. But I do know there are very necessary parts of the processing part of cannabis oils and more, this further enhances Agrifoods position as a leader in extraction alongside their massive hydroponics arm, genetics.Basically is becoming an all around partner to cannabis operators and helping them grow their business at, in magnanimous levels. So props to Raymond Chang and team over there, edge HGF why continues to be. A very strong company to keep on your watch list. Mike Tyson in his Tyson, 2.0 launch will bring knockout O G marijuana flour to Michigan dispensary. So if you are in the Michigan market or you'd like to take little road trips to Michigan, make sure you keep an eye for knockout OJI on the shelves. That is Mike Tyson's flour, the safe banking bill. As we covered earlier this week, the text was added to a broader legislation bill for the house rules committee. It did get approved. So that's wonderful. This will be the sixth time safe has made it through some sort of house vote. It will now go to the house for to be voted on there. So props to representative ed Perlmutter, who is pushing this through as fast and as, as much as he can, before he goes out of this.Delta nine. This is DLT and F on the OTC announces a 32 million non-dilutive credit facility with connect first credit union connect. First in the news a lot lately with their loans to cannabis companies especially in Canada, obviously Delta nine will utilize capital to optimize its capital structure. So there we go. This includes a 23 mortgage $23 million mortgage. 5 million acquisition facility and the 4 million authorized overdraft. So a Delta nine seeking some lovely capital flow there. Next up we have Cura leaf. Can't forget about them. When they make news, we try to never do that. For who? All C U R L F on the OTC forms a partnership.Rep sleep. This is a retail execution software meant to help CPG teams with data-driven insights. CPG of course, being consumer packaged goods, which is the direction cannabis has been headed by many perspectives of the industry. But is a well-known brand or well-known company. They work with brands such as Kraft, Heinz Adidas, L'Oreal beyond meat, Mattel, and AB InBev. So really interesting and unique and powerful partnership from curely. They're truly TC NNF F celebrates a statewide rebrand in Maryland. This comes on the heels of rebranding, their Pence of Pennsylvania. Dispensary's. They're looking to get the truly name out there. Have a consumer and loyalty base. I believe they're referring to as true leavers. It makes sense to me, Columbia carry to the same thing in Florida as as we mentioned before, alongside this and. Many cannabis companies are doing similar things at the moment. Urban gro UGR on the NASDAQ, announces another expansion to their stock repurchase program by another one and a half million. This builds upon the already in place 7 million that was previously expanded earlier in January. So they are there. This of course is not a guarantee that they will repurchase the stocks, but it is an expansion. And if they do repurchase that as quite interesting, especially for shareholders of you grow a few earnings news here, we have American green. It says E R B on the OTC revenue is up 20% year over year in Q2 2022 to 515,000. They did release some. Of expecting it to grow another 55% in the next year, by the Q2 20. That, that ends next you do. So interesting young company there keep an eye on them. But they do have a pretty well-known cannabis brand that seems Africana, ABC and F announces Q4 2021 earnings, a record revenue of 1.3 million. What's interesting here, this. Fourth consecutive sequential increase of at least 3,000. So in four quarters, they keep growing by at least 30%, a super impressive 20 20, 20, 20 21 revenue is around 3.3 million up 133% year over year. And finally, last bit of news. We'll call out for the day flora growth Corp with some interesting news here, seeking approval from I N V I M a.This is basically the Colombian FDA they're seeking emergency use authorization under COVID 19 protocols. This will be for a cannabinoid based formula that they're researching with preventative applications to help with COVID-19. Super interesting. They're also seeking IP at the same time. So keep an eye on FLDC obviously probably not going to move it today.Maybe it will, but it that's the first, I believe for cannabis in Latin American market. So everybody, this is cannabis daily. Thanks so much for tuning in my winners for the day. Obviously you have to mention . I think curely probably gets a shout out in flora growth Corp and. So for winners today, keep an eye on him. We'll do this two more times this week rate and review us, let us know what you think. This is Elliot lane, host of cannabis daily. Thanks as always to our producer, Aaron Thomas, who makes everything happen as well as Benzinger for the platform. The show brings you a quick five to six minutes of cannabis investing news and or industry centric news, every single weekday. So let's dive right in, starting off. We have high tide, H I T I on the NASDAQ exchange. They opened two new can of cabana locations in Regina to begin selling adult use cannabis on January 27th. This brings their total brick and mortars to 109. So high tide continuing their aggressive expansion AgriFood.HGF why on the NASDAQ announces a $27.3 million. Private placement AgriFood will issue roundabouts 4 million, 20,994 shares of common stock at a combined purchase price of $6 and 80 cents per share. What's interesting to me about this is CEO along with other members of management and the board participated in the. However they did. So at $6 and 90 cents. So 10 cents more, I think this is a huge shot of confidence in from internally from Agra. I think it's aggressive. I think it's strong. I love this. So props to on this release next up, after having announced it would stop testing most employees for cannabis and backing a democratic led bill to legalize cannabis.Amazon is now backing Nancy mace, the freshmen Republican Congresswoman from South Carolina and her bill, the state's reform act. So I think this continues to be a boon for cannabis to have large tech and e-commerce plays. Join the fold, Mississippi lawmakers in the state, Senate and state house. Come to an agreed. And send their newly revised medical cannabis bill to governor Tate Reeves desk. The final passage of which is expected to today. I love this. I think it's fantastic to see more Southern states joined the fold. Mississippi would not have been my guest to be the first one of many. But th this is a boon, in my opinion, for sure that the amendment, I believe coverage, zoning restrict. For licensees planet 13, probably the most fun news of the day. That's PLN, H F on the OTC. Now allowing couples to say I do in their Las Vegas Superstore, also known as the world's largest dispensary. You can also. I exchanged vows at their cultivation facility, which is not super far from the Las Vegas strip. They are tiered packages, everybody. So if you're planning on doing this wedding, start at $400 for a quickie, you can also go at $600 and $800 and so on and so forth for further packages. So planet 13, continuing to innovate, continuing to look beyond the norms of the cannabis. And be a leader at drawing in tourism to their to their dispensary, to their brand.Truly TC in NF is rebranding all their Pennsylvania retail locations. This is somewhat to me, similar to what Columbia care did with their Florida dispensaries to camp. But they want to unite true leavers everywhere. And they're starting here with Pennsylvania or continuing here with Pennsylvania schwas or S H w Z on the OTC closes their acquisition of drift cannabis, which consists of two dispensary's and Boulder, Colorado. This brings their total number of stores in the states two 20. The cost of the acquisition was around three and a half million. Pretty evenly split between cash and common stock. This seems like a solid acquisition to me, perhaps, to Schwab as their next step. A decently interesting company that we don't talk about a whole lot. They really only put out news when they have news, which is a nice change of pace. But zone properties or Z D P Y on the OTC. And announced as their final completion of expansion at the Chino valley cultivation facility, this zone properties first and foremost is a leading real estate development firm in this space. And this will significantly increase the rental revenue with further opportunities to increase revenue down the line from this specific facility. So great news for zone properties, a great news for the future for CDP. Private multi-state operator elevate holistics over the course of 2021 donated $70,000 to treat veterans and Medicare members. So I love talking about stories like this. I love talking about giving back to the community and giving back to the medical cannabis community specifically that has fought so hard for cannabis legalization last but not least South Dakota law. Are looking to repeal part of their citizen backed bill for the specifically the home cultivation rights can imagine this is going to go over well. Home cultivation rights are a huge battleground in this industry. Anybody who is for cannabis, legalization, and wants to have some sort of support from the OJI community needs to be behind cultivation rights for individuals and home cultivation rights. This is not going to be popular. And those companies that are behind a bill such as this will not be popular. So just keep an eye on this. We'll see where this goes. And what's what comes of this for that community? Actually, I didn't lie. Hexo did provide an update that for their path forward plan saying they're ready, can products will increase in markets and expansion there. So Hexo NASDAQ listed. This is Elliot. I think we have a trailer to play, to get hyped for this interview.Should we roll that trailer? Absolutely. Anybody watching though, we need you guys to hype it up with us. Put that like button down below and let's hype this up. Let's make this intro great. These always get me hyped up for the interview.Oh, come on. Look at that. Look at that. Shout out to our producer, Alyssa for making that wonderful trailer video. I mean, math, this makes me just want to play the game. I don't even know. Uh, I mean, I know we've got the interview, but I mean, if you have not played the fan gang game yet, uh, to anyone in the chat, make sure you check that out and we're going to hear more about that game during the interview. So without further ado, let me bring on the co-founders of Fang gang. We've got pocket and June sheet joining us on the roadmap what's going on. Hey. Of course, of course. And that trailer video by our own producer, Alyssa highlighting the Fang gang game, a super exciting project to talk about. Uh, let me go ahead and kick off the questions here before we get into Fang gang. One of the things we always like to ask teams is what was your history like before you created the project? You know, were you involved in other MFTs? Did you hold NFTs or was this a completely new space to you? So I'll, I'll start with pocket here to kick things off. Awesome. So, uh, I've joined the NFT space back in March, beginning of March or, uh, end of February. And, uh, I've been, uh, I started experimenting, so I've been a designer and, uh, uh, want to be artists for all my life. And so I found a space through to try some stuff here. So I've launched, uh, uh, experimental collection. It was my first one. It, it didn't go anywhere big, uh, but it was a way to learn. And then a while later I launched my, uh, uh, the collection that actually, uh, when I got my nickname from, which is crypto or backend, uh, where I did, uh, our Packers for ID, like, uh, over 50, uh, in pixel format. So that's how I started. And then of course I started as a creator, but quickly, uh, started to be a collector as most of the artists in this space. Uh, and I met June, she along the way, uh, we, we joined the same chat room, uh, I think back in March too. And we started talking and, uh, that's what that is to creating fan gang, uh, in August. So it was a short but intense ride so far. Perfect room. Was it? Uh, it was, uh, uh, Twitter, uh, chat with a lot of artists, like, uh, people that were starting at the same time as this, uh, like crypto burbs was there, uh, June. She was there. I know, uh, uh, hash vestors was there like some names that are being talked about nowadays, uh, started with us right there.Awesome. Jinshi same question for you. Uh, what's your, uh, intro to NFTs look like here. Um, so also back in March, like Bucca set, um, my brother had told me about NFTs, uh, because of their crypto punk hype was real back then. And, um, well, as, as a, as a studying a multimedia designer artists, um, I thought I would hop in and just create some stuff. So I kicked it off with a personal collection, uh, based around doge because there was the high back down of course. Um, and I made some pixel dogies out of those. Um, after that, I started to look at more of the collecting side of things. Uh, so I branched out my collection quite a bit, um, met amazing new artists, um, and just, uh, made many more connections in the NFD space.I think that's, that's key to, uh, to anyone who's trying to hop in. So, uh, there was a lot of fun. And then I think maybe in July, we started working on fan gang and, uh, the rest is history. Awesome. Yeah. Give us some more, uh, behind the scenes, you know, you too, Matt, and then, you know, how did the idea for fan gang come to be?And, and then maybe June she talk about the, the artwork, right? What was the inspiration, how did this artwork come to be? Um, I don't know. Basically we wanted to create a, a unique character and not link it directly to a certain type of animal. It's still a mystery to our community. What type of animal? Thanks there is. And that's, that's part of the fun, obviously. Uh, so we wanted to create a unique character that is not necessarily animal. Like I said, uh, I think most inspiration for me personally came from, uh, more old timey cartoons, maybe Felix, the cat, stuff like that. Um, 'cause I love that stuff. And I wanted to incorporate that into this design and that pocket. And I went back and forth, designing the base of the character, a lot of iterations, a lot of sketches, a lot of discussing. And, uh, we ended up with this beautiful creature. Awesome. And PACA, you know, uh, same to you. Uh, you know, you met June, she, you came up with the idea, give us the behind the scenes. You know, why fan gang, why this style of artwork and project, uh, for this.Well, I think may and June, she are pretty much aligned when it comes to the, the inspirations of fanging. Uh, actually one of the things that got me here and when we were experimenting, we, we looked at that a lot, uh, was vinyl toys because, uh, when we started it, uh, we had the idea of going beyond an NFT collection, like creating an IP.And building up on that. So that's what, uh, that's, that's one of the things we wanted with the characters is that they could be, uh, they could be used in different media, different formats and, and above all, we wanted people to be able to remix them to which happens so far. So we launched a, uh, uh, an art contest, I think about a month ago.Uh, and, and, and that's, that's the confirmation we needed that we were doing what we propose ourselves to do, because people were able to, uh, to grab the, the, the, the most iconic traces of the characters and, and, uh, redo them in their own style. So I think, uh, when, when creating the characters, these, this concern we had, uh, actually, uh, worked, ended up.Love that. So pocket June sheet, let's talk a little bit about the recent airdrop that you guys sent to everyone who had delisted or listed for one Eve. Can you guys tell us a little bit more about that? Um, let's start with you, do you and cheat. All right. So we always had in mind that ever since we started the diamond facts club, which was a, I think halfway through September, uh, pocket came up with the ID to, to do this, to reward holders and active community members, especially.Um, so that's when we started to give away 0.18 or at one faster every single day, uh, to everyone who, well, like you said, the, their Franks or list above one eighth. Um, and we wanted to do something extra. I know like giving back a bit of is already cool, but we wanted to do an add drop as well. And we recently hired a new developer to work with us.Shout out to reveal if you're watching. To do ad reps and stuff like that. So that's more, uh, easy to us to do that right now. And one day pocket DME with this amazing artwork, he made it all himself, no discussing or back and forth or iterations. And he made this and I was just amazed by it by it. And I thought let's, let's add up this to our diamonds banks club members.Yeah. That's awesome. So, um, parka, why do you guys do the daily diamond fangs raffle? Um, and you know, why is this important for the committee? Uh, well, first of all, I think it's, it's a good way to keep the community engaged. And, uh, when we launched we wanted the community to be, uh, one of, uh, one of its most, uh, strong points. So, uh, we've been working, uh, on that daily, beyond the, the diamond banks club. Uh, we, we try to reward our holders constantly. Uh, like we did an airdrop on Halloween and we're trying to, uh, do, uh, games daily. We do a lot of stuff, uh, to, to keep the community engaged. So the diamond thanks club is not only a way to, to, to reward our holders, but it's also a way to express our creativity so we can do stuff like this, like the diamond, thanks to God, uh, just because we want to, and we can reward our holders with that. So, uh, it's, it's, uh, a way to do, to build on community. Love that. So speaking of community, can you guys tell us a little bit about the Fang runner week three contests, you know, the high scores in the game, what are your guys' high scores? And do you guys put a game? Yeah,I've been trying to break 15 K for a while, but I can't quite get there. It's hard. It's hard, but I mean, there's, I think, uh, the high score so far is like 24 K on the first week. And that's nuts because when, when I'm on 12 30, 13, K I'm already stressing and sweating a lot. So this is, this is, this is not, uh, but we've been having a lot of fun with Fang runner, I think.Uh, well, it's, it's another way to reward the community as, uh, as the diamond. Thanks. Uh, we, we tried when we launched the game, it's just the promotional game. It's not nothing too big yet, but, uh, we, we, we launched the game, uh, along with a pixel thanks collection. Uh, but when we, when we, when we propose to do that, we wanted to reward players and we, again, we wanted the community to be engaged with the project. So, uh, one way to do it is to rewards, uh, holders, uh, and players above all, uh, uh, every week, uh, for their, uh, crazy runs like those 24 K that I think it was invalid by gut. So we've been rewarding so far, um, with, uh, special pixel fangs, special peaks of thanks there's for the collection. We created them specially for this, uh, but, uh, we have something planned for the F for the fifth week that we can't reveal yet, but it's, it won't be an NFT.What used to be something. Uh, but you'll have to stay around the city to see it. And that's in what, two weeks you said two weeks yet. Nice. Yeah. So can you guys tell us, so will the pixel fangs be expanded then? Or is it going to be something completely different from the NFTs, like you said,I think it was talking about the price. Yeah. So in two weeks we have a physical price for any thing, runner competitors. Um, but we, we are, uh, in talks to expand the game later on. Yeah. We want to do much more with it. Uh, just a matter of time, basically. Nice man. And, uh, especial note for this one, we've been working with pixel hands on, on pixel fangs and the Fang runner game.Uh, and we actually want to keep on working with him, uh, everything pixel related because he's the pixel king. So, uh, I'm sure we will expense, uh, Uh, we've been working on that. We can share much yet, but we've been working on it. Awesome. And we asked people in the chat to drop their high scores in the chat.I saw, you know, I think, uh, 8,000, uh, 4,000. Um, but yeah, it looks like you've got a lot of people that play that game. I know I'm going to be playing it over and over now that I know what some of the high scores are to beat here. Um, but it it's just so addicting. Uh, you know, another common question we ask, right? When we have teams on is when merge. So is merchandise a part of the plan going forward and when will we get an update on the.Um, so merge was something we had in mind from basically the very first date, um, because the longterm vision for fan gang, eventually it's just expanding it into a brand, um, something much more, um, than just your avatar. Um, so merge was something really big and something we're really excited for. Uh, we often call it a premium merge merge store because we want to do a little more than most projects do a lot of projects, have a really cool merge, but we want to take it a step further and add some very exciting merge items, as well as non wearable items and stuff like that.I'm currently in the process of sketching, a lot of designs and patterns for the clothing items. Uh, so it's starting to take shape. Um, um, and I hope we can release that end of the year, beginning of next. Yeah. And actually it's still still about merge. We, when we launched banksters, uh, if I don't know if you've noticed it already, but, uh, some of the factors of, uh, some specific brands that we created for the collection, like the wild fangs, uh, and the three little piggies and, uh, uh, by 12th grade is some of them Lupa. And, uh, our idea is to expand those, uh, into the real March. So, uh, we'll probably have some wild fangs merge, t-shirts hoodies and whatnot. So that that's, that's something we planned from the start. And that's why this process is only happening now, after we launch a bunch of things, because we really want to focus on this and, and do it properly, you know, as, as June, she said, premium merge store.Awesome love that. I know there's going to be a lot of excited fans out there to get their hands on that merge. Um, you know, this show is called the roadmap. Uh, you know, so another big highlight is we always like to talk about, you know, the roadmap and what's next. So I saw a comment already in the chat from third, I won saying, can you talk about Fang city?So if you guys can share a little bit about Fang city and that roadmap, uh, for our viewers, Yeah, absolutely. Actually, I've been drawing all day for new thanks city. So I just stopped for the, this, this live stream, but it's been our focus lately. Uh, so June she has been working on Merck and I've been drawing for new thanks CD, mostly.Uh, and, uh, I think the, this started as a community project. So this, this wasn't something that was on our roadmap, uh, uh, since the beginning, but our, our current dev reel, uh, came to us with an idea of developing, uh, that, that new Fang CD we talked about before, uh, eight into a, a hub, a place where, uh, you can, uh, search for everything, uh, Fang, gang related. So, so far we have a few ideas in mind, something, and, uh, it will probably, uh, stop. Uh, just with the game room and the merge store, uh, and the two, two or three other rooms, but our idea is to expand it a long time. So, uh, when you, when you enter new thank city, you'll be able to name your faster, tell his backstory and then roam around and, and interact with other fencers.Um, but it will be a long-term project. So when we launch it, we'll probably have like three or four buildings, but, uh, as, as we go, uh, as we go down the roads, we, we could add more things. So it's, it's a dynamic websites, uh, to say, so I don't know if you want to add something. Um, and that's about it. I'm super high for it.And, uh, I can't wait to expand that as well. I think it's cool that we have stuff that we can expand later on like Fang runner is basically the core of what we wanted to make and people are enjoying it and we're having fun with it. We are rewarding the community with it. Uh, but we are expanding that and same for new fact city. It's something we want to release and people have fun with and also expand later on. Perfect. Yeah. I mean, that's awesome to hear more about what's ahead and pocket also that you're working on the artwork. Um, you know, and thanks for taking a small break to join us on the stream today. We appreciate that.Um, well, uh, another thing we always like to ask the teams, and this can be a difficult one, you know, especially for the artist, is we like to hear what are your favorite traits, um, from Fang city? So, uh, June G let's start with you. Oh man grills, grill gang all the way. Fucking grill myself. Really? My favorite.Yeah. Um, besides that I think, uh, the for code is amazing. Um, And the wild fangs, uh, all the hoodies and stuff like that. They, the caps they have on it's dopest. Fuck. I would wear that in real life. There you go. Ask me suits too. Yeah. Awesome. Yeah, we got to see the fur coat here a while. We're trying to pull that up a parka.Oh, there it is. Haka over to you. Um, what are some of your favorite traits in the, in the series here? Just check my PFP. You'll see a four codes. So that's definitely one of my favorites. Uh, I'm chain gang of everything that has changed. So basically, uh, the tank top and the four coats are two of those. Uh, and then I'm a separate for bunny.Heres I love them. I think they're workout. Breeding. So check those two and then there's there's well, all the wild things, uh, merge, uh, speaks to me. I love it. Uh, and there's more, I think it's hard to pick one, you know, I love almost all of them. That's awesome. If there's one with the fur and a grills, that'd be awesome too.Oh, there's not. Yeah. There's no. Yeah. Oh man. That'd be awesome. So guys, we, you guys had a ho how a wean costs contests, uh, earlier this last month here. Uh, will there be more holiday contests coming up, you know, since we're approaching holiday season here? Yeah, man, we, uh, we have something for Christmas lined up, well, lined up where we're discussing it right now.Thinking of cool ideas. Slowly starting to work on it. Um, uh, but it's tough because we're also working on merge in New York city and everything coming out. It's, it's a lot, it's a big package, but the Halloween, uh, costume maker is definitely something we will return for Christmas, uh, and run a contest with it as well.Of course. Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah. I can't wait to see, like Santa hats or you guys get creative with all that stuff. Yeah, that's really cool. I love that. Um, so speaking, you know, we talked to community earlier, um, discord management, right? So we know discord, depending on which discord you joined, it can be completely hectic or one of the best, you know, organized, structured communities you've been to.How do you guys manage the community? Do you do anything specific to make sure it's running smoothly? Um, well I guess that's the question for me as I am the community manager, um, I don't know, really. I think we attracted the right group of people that are very chill, very wholesome, very welcoming to everybody. So it's been pretty chill. We have moderators, but I don't think they have to do a lot of banning or warning people and stuff like that. I've been in much worse communities outside of NFTs as well. And, uh, ours is just very, very wholesome. They're welcoming, really love that. Are you guys both active on there?Yeah. Every day. Yeah. We basically live on discord. Yeah. Yeah. It's tough on like, there's so much FOMO. You leave for like an hour. You have to catch up on all these messages. And is there a favorite room in the discord that you guys like to be in? For me, basically the team chat, because that's where the goodies are, right?Yeah. Yeah. We actually launched something, uh, recently, uh, which is called the fan gout where we host game nights and such, uh, Heartland sparks. One of our mods has been taking care of it and it's actually a fun place to hang out. Like we have terrific games. We have, uh, what was the first one? Uh, we had a night of, uh, what was called the game helped me drinking, uh, party books, Jack party, Jack books, Jack Jack box.So we have, uh, that's, that's also a way to keep the community engaged. That's something we really focus on. So the hangout is also a cool place. So me and Chris are going to have to join you guys on the next game night there. Yeah, that sounds like fun. I feel like we did that here at Benzinga one time, the, the Jac games, um, the different mini games. So, uh, that, that could definitely be a fun night. So absolutely one last question about discord for you guys. So we have seen a lot of discourse get hacked. You know, they're posting these spam links, uh, anything that you guys are doing and take precaution with this and anything that you recommend to the community to just, you know, kind of as a guide, to not fall for these things.Um, I've been community managing on this good for a six or seven years now. And I've recently actually posted a thread about this because I've seen so many surfers getting a hack and a scam. Like you said, if people lose a lot of money, um, I think it's a lot of teams may be new to discord. I don't know, to like the intricate details or the useful tips you can add to your server. And basically it's all my trout. That's been to my profile page view. If people want to win the, read that all true. I've linked some very useful things in there. Okay, awesome. Yeah. We'll make sure to check that out because now more than ever, it's more important for all of these things to take precaution, you know?Perfect. Yeah. And for anyone out there watching, if you're watching us on YouTube right now, you can follow pock on Junichi on Twitter. Those are in the description of this video below. Um, so make sure you check those out as well. Um, we do have some questions here from the chat, um, which is something we always like to do here on the show.Um, we got a question from, uh, Quito, how did they meet David Horvitz and get him to do a one of one Fang stir David Horvath? Of course, uh, ugly Dallas founder. Uh, I believe, and I know ugly Dallas from having kids and they did that movie a couple of years ago. So, uh, tell us a little bit about how that came to be.Uh, well, actually it's, uh, it's a pretty straightforward, uh, they, they be joined or discord and both a bunch of factors and started sharing them. And we were astonished by it because I've been following David's work for quite a while, as you, as you've been Chris. Uh, and, and actually we reached out to him.It was the coolest dudes and just agreed to do it, like, just like that. So he is, he was a collector before he was collabing with us. So that's, that's, that's the best thing, I guess. So, and then the process was, was pretty straight forward. I'm sorry. He just picked one of his characters and it turned it into a fencer.Like we didn't have to do much because it was his style and it was a perfect match for our colors and our, our, our theme. So it was pretty straight. That's awesome. Um, so we have another question from the chat here. This one is from third. I, Juan, he's asking, do you guys do this full time? And if so, what is your daily routine?Um, yeah, I do this full time. Uh, I know PACA doesn't, but, uh, I recently, after we launched and we sold out, I made the choice to quit university and quit my part-time designer job. Uh, as I w I always wanted to go full-time NFD ever since I got into this space, because it's just so welcoming a super cool as you, as an artist, you can create so much and have such a big audience. So I decided to bite the bullet and quit uni and quit my job and go full-time fan game. I do. I actually do a lot of juggling between my day job and thinking I'm 24 7 on this cord, but luckily my job allows me to, to balance things. So, uh, I can do my day job and still be fully committed to, to thinking. So me and June, she worked perfectly, uh, with this, with this schedule. So not a lot of sleep hog guys. Yeah. Not, not really. Yeah. I feel like that was something we talked about in one of our other interviews of like, do you ever feel the need to, you know, take, take a break, maybe take a day off from the, the discord, um, you know, maybe, uh, a mental break. Is that something you guys ever do or think about, or is this just, you know, 24, 7, uh, all in no breaks. Um, I do think about it. Uh, I rarely do it though. Um, but sometimes, you know, on a Sunday you sleep in a little and, well, I mean, this is just fun. It doesn't feel like work or anything. So I do check this every day, but I don't, sometimes I take one day off or something like that.Yeah. Yeah. It's very important. Yep. Very important. Packa. How about, how about you juggling a, you know, two things right now? Um, you know, how, how do you take some mental breaks? Yeah, I probably need to take more of those. Uh, but uh, I tried to, as June, she said, I tried to enjoy a bit of the weekend, even though I'm always checking discord and Twitter, but, uh, I think I'm going to need a break, like after we release new thanks city and the March, probably some days off, but I know I won't be able to, to, to log off and, and skip on discord, but still, uh, probably less hands-on and more, uh, enjoying.I guess I have a question for you guys. I'm curious to hear your guys' thoughts on the current NFT markets. You know, since we have seen, you know, gas go up volume kind of slowed down a little bit. Uh, what are your guys' thoughts on the market right now? Let's start with you PACA. Uh, well, I think, uh, market is going through a slow days and we've noticed that on, on thinking.Uh, I don't, I honestly don't know if this is just a phase or if NFTs are starting to, to, to enter the real bear market, because so far we had like one or two weeks bear markets and then things start to spike up again. But, uh, all I know is if we keep on building communities and, and, uh, keep on working daily for those reasons, Those are the projects that will stand the test of time, you know?So we, we gotta build when things are down. So we really enjoy when things are back up. So that's, that's at least my, my way of seeing things. And that's why we haven't stopped ever since we started, uh, I don't know where, I mean, I don't know if this is, this is changing anytime soon. I hope so because I've been seeing a lot of reds on every three Twitter threads, like.Uh, but uh, people are still around. So I think that's, that's one of the things that matters the most and, and you see new people, uh, buying their first NFD every day. So I think that's, that's a bullish sign and then Christmas is coming and I, I truly believe that the NFTs are going to be these year's Christmas gifts. So who knows. Yeah. Um, I'm looking for some gifts for the family and I'm definitely gonna give NSC. I hope I get some as gifts this Christmas too. So if my family's out there watching, I'll take some out of teas for Christmas. All right. We got another question here in the chat. Uh, this one, uh, along the same, you know, broad NFT lines, a question from Brenda, um, are they into other types of NFTs, like NBA, top shot or music?Um, you know, we, we asked about your early days in NFTs and now that fan gangs going, I know you're busy guys, but you know, are there NFTs that you guys, uh, you know, collect, uh, you know, currently. Um, yeah, like you said, we're, we're busy and I was a died down definitely a little bit, but I'm still degenerate. So I still browse open, see all the time looking for new stuff, but also still supporting my friends who we came up with, uh, from back in March, uh, people like crypto pers, uh, Marco, uh, those are still grinding every single day and they put out dope stuff. So I still check those out and sometimes buy one of them.Uh, so yeah, definitely still collecting pocket. Yeah. About a top shot and music. Uh, well mainly tough shots. I was never, uh, much into it because first of all, we're in European. So, uh, basketball is not as huge as there over here. Uh, but, uh, I, I mostly collect, uh, the same stuff as June. She said, I, I do. Well, some 10 Ks.I do. Someone wants, uh, I actually liked music, but I haven't found anything that, uh, really, uh, pushed me to it. Uh, like nothing NFD related that, that, that I think was it, uh, I think we still have a long way there. Uh, I've I've played for, for over 10 years. So music is something that interests me. Uh, but I'm yet to find a proper, uh, NFT, uh, about it.I guess. I, I mean, there there's, there's good stuff. Uh, but nothing that has really spoken to me.Awesome. And one more, uh, you know, just broad question here. Um, you know, uh, another topic we've hit on a lot with this show is obviously a lot of people know the current NFT marketplaces, you know, open, see super rare, rare bull and others. We have this elephant in the room of Coinbase launching an NFT marketplace.Uh, what are your thoughts? You know, how big of a deal is this for the NFT market for Coinbase getting involved and have you guys, uh, you know, talk to a Coinbase at all about maybe, uh, getting fan gang on there? Um, yeah, we definitely want to, uh, because obviously it's a, it's a huge step. Uh, and I think it's about time to open C has got some real competition.I think it's very healthy for the market over. Um, so I think that's very good how they develop it and how it all, uh, works out. That's yet to be seen of course, but it's a very promising, uh, company to be behind an empty marketplace. I get, I think, and if anyone's in the chat or anyone out there has any connections to Coinbase, please link us up because we've been reaching out, we've been shooting emails left and right. But so far to know, I feel sadly, soawesome. Well, June she and PACA, you know, thank you guys so much for joining us on the roadmap today and also shout out to the fan gang community, joining the chat. Um, you know, we want to thank you both for taking time out of what we know is your busy days. And we look forward to following the progress of fan gang along the way.Awesome. Thank you guys. We'll talk to you soon. See ya. All right. May I ask, I mean, another great interview here on the roadmap, right? Which when we started this show, right. You know, the big things where it provides some education, talk about some upcoming projects and interview these great teams. Right. And we get that behind the scenes. Look, that's what I really like. Right. Is hearing. I mean, where else are you going to hear it? What their high scores are on this game, or, you know, how much time they spend in the discord, you know, and their favorite traits. I always love getting that. And, you know, hearing what the artist thinks, you know, are their favorite traits. What do you think mass? Yeah, one of my favorite things about these interviews is watching the chat. Now, seeing, you know, all these guys from the community, come on here and just ask questions or provide feedback. You know, I get a good sense of the community from this chat. So it's really cool to see that. And if you guys enjoy this again, make sure to leave a thumbs up subscribe. We're trying to, you know, really push this as NFC is expand. So yeah, you know, I'm glad it was a great interview, great team. And I look forward to seeing where they're at in a couple months or following up with them in the future.Definitely. And I mean, that's an exciting roadmap, right? To hear about Fang city, to hear about merge and, you know, there's this new artwork coming and also those, those, uh, costume contest, right. The Halloween one, and we got a Christmas one coming up. Um, so definitely excited. Mass before we get to the headlines, I'm seeing a, a, it looks like we got a shout out in the chat there and a tip.So, uh, thank you, mark, for your super chat contribution. And the comment is, let me go ahead and pull this up on the screen. The comment is the floor for pudgy penguins is 1.2. Ethan robotics is 0.3 for any reason not to buy at these prices. Thanks guys. Uh, mark, thanks again for the shout-out here. Um, again, not financial advice.Uh, you know, I was a former holder of robotics. Um, I do not have my Roboto any more. They just did the. Airdrop of the pet. Um, you know, and the price has come down since then. I love this artwork though. We had the team on, and this is one that I'm looking to get back in. I love the ones that have the animal is, you know, on the head. Those are my favorite ones, but 0.3, four. Um, you know, I think maybe we dip a little bit more, but you know, I sold mine at 1.5 east. So, uh, it definitely was up there and pudgy penguins, I've never been in a, you know, I missed the run on that. Um, so I can't really speak to that. Maths. What do you think of a pudgy penguins and robots here at these levels?Yeah, so great question, mark. Um, you know, not financial advice, but I think now, you know, We're kind of past that flipping phase right now, since we're kind of in a, we've slowed down a bit. So what I've focused more on is look at the community, right. And we've had the robotics team, you know, they're all docs, they're a great community there at New York, uh, you know, and the events, um, are they a great long-term hold?Absolutely. In my opinion, I think they are so kind of, I think price is a lagging indicator right now. You know, floors are thin. There's not a lot of volume. I think these will pick up over time, you know, in a year or so. Can you see this as your profile picture and not worried if it dips? Absolutely same with budgie penguins.I mean, I see them both on Twitter all the time. A lot of people use them as their profile pictures. Um, so, you know, that's the biggest thing. Can you, do you, would you hold on to this for a while? Is the community strong? Do you see the roadmap? These things matter now? A little more so than ever before in the last couple months I would say so in my opinion, I would definitely buy at these prices. They look good. They may go down even more, a bit who knows, but, um, yeah, I mean, I like that. Definitely great insight there, math, uh, you know, I always love the call-out right. That you, you see these as profile pictures, right. And that is true with penguins and robotics and the communities are huge. You know, uh, we talked about that on a past show.Robotics was that, you know, Um, and did some events there. Uh, Pablo is an amazing artist, right? Uh, shout out to Pablo. We had him on the show and they also do random airdrops different times. Um, you know, of just some of his artwork to, you know, give back. And I think, uh, after pets they've got more coming. So, uh, I could definitely see some, some longterm value there. So again, not financial advice, but that's our thoughts on the overall price right now, again, mark, you know, thanks for the shout out there in the chat. Um, and again, guys drop your questions in the chat. If you have them, we'll try to get to some let's turn to some, uh, news and headlines.Um, you know, there, there's not a ton of new stuff out there, mass, uh, but one of the big headlines I saw, you know, I, I occasionally watch, uh, late night television and I have watched Jimmy Fallon for awhile and he had people on last night. Right. So we got to hear all about NFTs, right? With people's latest, say.And one of the things that was revealed during the interview was that Jimmy Fallon is now a board ape yacht club owner. So he said that he partnered with moon paid during the interview. And, uh, we're not sure if moon pay, you know, a, it was a sponsor at all, or if they just got that shout out from Jimmy Fallon.Um, but so now I'm seeing on Twitter that based on it being through moon pay, it is most likely board ape number 5, 9, 9. If we can get that picture up here in a minute. Uh, so it is a six tray cream for eight. So 6% tray of cream for has a sea captain's hat, 3%. Uh, Navy Stripe, T3 percent and heart sunglasses, 4%.Uh, this was purchased for 46.6 east or around $216,000 on November 8th by moon pay and then was transferred to an open sea account that had just been set up this month. So again, that's the one that they think that Jimmy Fallon got, it has not been confirmed. And also in that regards mass, Jimmy Fallon has not changed his profile picture to the ape yet.So a great shout out on TV, but a well, he changed his Twitter picture, uh, to this APM. Yeah, that's a great point. You know, I have a feeling he doesn't fully understand it yet. It was just from, just from hearing him talk there. I feel like he just, how he described boom pay and how it worked. Hopefully it does. And yeah, I mean, it would make a cool profile picture, you know, I'm sure the board answer glad that Jimmy is onboard. So that's awesome. Yeah. I'm curious, you don't mask. That's a great point. I'm curious to hear what the community thinks because you know, not too long ago, we were talking about a rumor of, you know, Kylie Jenner wanting to get a board ape.Right. And a lot of people, you know, kind of shunned her, right. And now will Jimmy Fallon be welcomed, you know, with open arms and again, I mean, Jimmy Fallon, he's, he's a decent size name, right? He has a late night talk show that airs every night and mass where I get excited about this. It's not just for the eight community, but let's picture. You know, Jimmy Fallon doing an interview in the future with, you know, Steph Curry or shack or Reese Witherspoon, people who have they own NFTs. What are the ads now that Fallon's going to talk about NFTs with them, you know, during the interview, like, I feel like that's pretty exciting to think, Hey, there could be more NFT talk during, you know, a late talk show. What do you think? Yeah, I mean, I'm sure we should probably, I wouldn't be surprised if we see that I should say in the next, I would say year or two. Yeah, absolutely. We're starting to see some of those conversations happen on Twitter between celebs and between, you know, celebs and ape owners. So yeah, that'd be really cool.Yeah. Definitely. Um, so let's talk a little bit about, so cool cats teased today. They tease their pets, right? So we'll pull up a picture right now. We'll show you guys what the pets are looking like, but I'm more interested in talking about the roadmap, right? So we're kind of at a point now where a lot of projects, you know, like the apes, the cool cats, these blue chips, they're building this economy around their original 10 K profile pictures, right? So they're building, you know, utility, they're building a different, you know, you know, cartoons and pictures, and they're creating this big, you know, universe of, you know, the original 10 K. So I'm so curious to see how this evolves over the next year, right? When people come into the, you know, out of T we'll do the buy these pets as it may do, they make it a profile picture, does the cool cat universe sport, ape universe expand, you know, to all of these different things. And, you know, seeing this come to life, Cool to see. So I'm excited for that. Yeah. I mean, that artwork is looking sweet, man, uh, you know, for the pet. So, uh, this, this is pretty exciting and, you know, uh, I definitely agree, right. The roadmap is looking good. Um, for cool cats. I mean, this has been a blue chip for a while, and I know that you're in this project.Um, you know, do you think, you know, this, this has got that, that wonderful lasting touch of being, you know, one of the top blue chips. Cause right now, I mean, it's, it's a top five projects, top 10, I would say all time. Right. You know, for me, I don't look at the floor with this at all, you know, I can go up or down and I really don't care unless I'm trying to buy another one.Uh, so to me that's always a good sign personally, you know, I just liked the project. Um, I liked the community and again, the roadmap we're so early man, and all these projects are building and there's only 10,000 pieces. Right. So when let's say a hundred thousand Coinbase has what, 2 million people on the, on the way.So 2.5 million now 2.5 million, right? How many of those are going to want a cool cat? Yeah, that's a great 10,000 cats. You know, you can't, they start becoming unattainable at a certain point, but that's where the other, you know, that's where the cool cats universe comes to life, which is more bullish for these original pieces are the way I see it.So I still think it's too early to call it. You know, it's too early to say, it's going to go to the moon. It's too early to say it's going to crash. You know, we're just kind of in that in-between phase the way I see it. Definitely. Well, so math, we just talked about a robotic is doing a, a pet, uh, you know, uh, airdrop. We got cool cats doing pets. I saw another project that's launching a free pat mint. Um, this is bubblegum kids, which I think I talked about on the show, um, you know, a month or two ago. So this was one that I actually mentored. I have sold out of it, but I have seen some people on Twitter that I follow in the stock community using bubble gum kids as their profile picture. So this isn't an inexpensive one, right? I think the floor is like 0.03. And they now said that they are doing bubble gum up. Uh, so, you know, along that same lines of, uh, you know, uh, Coinbase, right, and new people getting into NFTs, I'm wondering if some of these projects can, you know, gain some traction, right. With seeing people have them as their profile picture and also having that cheaper price point. Right. Cause again, not that floors matter long-term but I think your initial people that get in that are new to the space, you're going to see some of these cheaper projects be, you know, good entry points and bubblegum kids.I like what they've done. They did some honorary ones too. Um, Steph Curry, they made one for him, Andre Iguodala, another NBA player. They also made one for Reese Witherspoon. I don't think she has it. Um, so they're kind of going that approach too, to get celebrities. And, but again, doing there's that puppy there, I mean, I actually kinda liked this, uh, you know, the artwork on it.So, and I have seen the bubblegum kids, you know, uh, and they're a little bit unique, right. That they have the, the bubble gum. Uh, what do you think maths, do you know this project at all? I don't know this project, but you know, you made a good point where when new people come into the NFT worlds, uh, you know, what are they gonna buy first?Right. So that's always interesting to see, and I guess we'll, we'll find out, but to have projects starting to prepare for that would be cool. So, yeah, definitely. Um, so Chris, we talked on, we talked, was it yesterday or talked to any of this? You know, it seems so long ago. It was just, I can't tell my base.Yeah. So the super rare board apes, uh, they're out for auction. There's actually two of them. We showed one yesterday, but I want to show this one today. This one. Dude, absolutely a banger. Um, and let's, they're both up for auction. And I think one of them has, is up for 13 Yves and the other one's for 16. Oh my goodness.Look at that. Rolling stone cover through that is so my goodness. And that's the roadmap as the backdrop. So that's, I mean, that is sick right there. Yeah. I love that. And what did, how we got to look at the price here? What are we at for let's look at the top bid for this is 16, 8, 16 Eve on the mutant. So, and I think that's actually higher. What is the, the banana board eight cover? I mean, I call it the banana cause we got the bananas floating around in the background. 14 east, uh, 14. Yeah, that mutant one. I hadn't even seen until today, mass. I completely missed that. Um, and these end, I think it is at four day. Four days. So, uh, what do you think Chris, over under 28th for both of these?Oh, you know what? I almost feel like it's gonna split. I kind of think the mute, no, get to 20. And I feel like the regular one I'll call it. I'll call it 1720 and 17. I'll call. Um, I think, I think they both break 20 considering. Yeah. I think they both got 20 days left, so these are sick, dude. I think. Yeah.Whatever ones. I'm not sure what the other one of ones have gone for, but if floor price is what like 38th right now for a board ape. I don't know. I think it breaks 20. Uh, I'm curious to hear from the chat though, which one would you guys pick? The mutant one or the regular one? Because they're both cool. So, oh yeah. 32 eighth floor. Yeah. Great question mass. So yeah, let us know right now, type in the chat. Would you rather have the board ape or the mute and ape? Um, you know, uh, just solely based on the image, not based on the price, if you had to pick one, which would you rather own mass? I, I think I got go mute here.Right? Uh, you know, that, that artwork, uh, it's dripping off the face, the roadmap in the background, which one would you rather have. I mean, the other one is cleaner though. It's just simpler and, and this one has a lot going on through their votes. Sick man. I want both of them. Let me just get both you going to play some bids right here on the show. We're going to hear it here. All right. We're starting to get some votes and we got two votes for Mueller right now. No surprise. Um, let's keep those votes comment. Oh, I mean the OJI, right? It's clean. It's clean. Oh, another vote for boards. So, I mean, we're, we're seeing it split right now. Mass. Are you surprised by this vote? They're both sick, man. So yeah, it's kind of like picking, it's kind of like picking, oh man. I think if I had to pick one probably original because looking at it now. Oh gee. But I don't know. I want this one too. They're both sick, man. So we'll, we'll update the chat when this thing is go for final sale.Cause these should probably, I think they'll. Yeah. And I mean, mass, I think if you're, if you're rolling stone and also if you're other Meg, I mean, where are the other magazines that right time magazine partnered with cool cats. Now you got rolling stone partnering with board Abe. I mean, if you're a magazine, I mean, you're watching the show right now.Stop watching. You should be on the phone. Right. You should be connecting with these NFT projects because look at this, I mean, you can get people to your space, right? You can bring new people to your magazine and you can also make some money and, you know, these just, they look so cool. And I mean, again, one of one, so, you know, mass, you just said that was cool cats, right?10,000, you know, there's only 10,000. Well, now you've got something like this, there's only one, right? Like, and you can say you own the one of one, I mean, what a flex. That is two. So, uh, another vote here for mute due to the detail, again, that roadmap behind, I mean, the parrots constantly moving to. There's just so much going on in these covers, dude.If I had this, I put it in my house and I'd have, I'd find a way to display it. Just like this all day, every day, all day people over just invite people to be like, Hey, come look at this. Got yeah. Oh man. That's awesome. So ends in four days. So we'll be able to talk about that final price next week on the show. And again, I said 20 for the mutant 17 for the board ape and mass said both we'll hit 180, so we will see, um, you know, what the final price is. Our, you know, we were pretty close with our guests is on the Southerby's board, ape auction, mass. Remember that, uh, you know, we. Um, so, you know, again, uh, just a, an educated guests here.Um, but we will see, well, we have a couple minutes left, so anyone, you know, watching this live, and again, if you're not watching this live or you're listening on the podcast, you know, that's great too. We're happy to have you as part of the. If you're watching live right now, though, uh, you know, let us know, what are you watching?Um, drop it in the chat. Are there any upcoming minster you're looking at any recent NFT purchases that you had? I do see a comment from mark in the chat there talking about the Viveve star wars drop, um, which I believe is at three o'clock today, mass. I wrote about this a week or two ago, and I, I forgot.I haven't even looked at these. Right. So Disney partnered with Vive to do star wars, Marvel and Disney related, um, NFTs. And they're they're collectibles. Right. And you have them in the Vive app then, you know, I saw, I think like a gold Bart Simpson skateboard. All right. Cause Disney now owns a Simpsons. I saw, um, you know, some Marvel ones as well.Have you looked at the Vive and FTC? No, I have not, but I think we'll pull them up right here. So we can all look at the ass C3, POC, like, look at that, like again, Disney, I mean, one of the biggest media companies in the world getting into NFTs and look at this, I mean, what a way to monetize your intellectual property, the golden moments and Ft collection with the, um, the, this is pretty sweet.Um, I might have to take a look at these because mass, if I remember right, I think you, it's kinda like a, uh, you know, like a normal NFT where you're just, you're, you're buying it and you don't know what you got until you open your pack. I think I, I feel like it's similar to top shot where, you know, you open it then, and it's an instant reveal, but, uh, I think that'd be wrong with that too.So, but that's pretty exciting too. I mean, I've got kids who love. Getting blind bags, right. Where you don't know what you're going to get until you open it. And that's kind of the thrill of NFTs too. I mean, there, you got Homer choking bar. Uh, there's just so many great ones in this collection. So walk us through this, Chris. So you pay, I'm assuming with cash or us dollar credit cards, us dollar through the Vive app. So that's a great point. Matt is another thing where, you know, maybe people new to the NFT. Get in through something like this, you know, top shop, we saw that, right? Cause they have the flow blockchain where you could, you could use a credit card.I mean, my first top shots I ever bought, you know, I was using a debit card to buy those packs. I didn't have to get a theory. Um, um, you know, to make that transaction. So here you have. Yeah. Homer and Bart. Um, yeah, so I mean, and addition, so yet, uh, 12,333. So I mean, that's still not a crazy supply. I actually thought there was going to be more of these. And that was the one thing that scared me away a little bit was like that inflated supply, but I mean, I've watched the Funko NFTs constantly sell out mass and I think Disney is going to sell all these out. So, is there a resell market for this? Or how does this work or do what, who do you think they're attracting just collectors from star wars that are going to come into this NMT?Are they attracting current NFTE people or is it a mix of both? Yeah, so I think they're going after new people and collectors. Um, and I think the resale market is right there on the Vive app. I see a comment from lane in the chat though, saying from what I understand, you still can't cash out Vive. That's an interesting comment. Um, that's something we've seen with newer apps before, right. And I think tap shot actually had that complaint for a while where you could bypass, you could buy moments, but you couldn't cash your money out for a while. Um, you know, cause again, just working out the, the processes and stuff. So if that's true, I mean that could scare some people away as well. But um, I mean, mass being able to use U S D don't you think that just brings, you know, new people to the. Yeah, I do. I, I'm curious to see kind of like meaning when we bring people on most of the time we ask them how they got into this world, they say top shot.Right. So, uh, absolutely. You know, absolutely. I'm curious to see I'm more, cause I didn't get in through top shot. I just got in through like straight Eve. So I'm curious to see how that works because like you said, yeah, it's going to bring a lot of, I'm sure a lot of Disney collectors to buy their first NFT and you know yeah.I think it's great on looking back. So in one minute, mass, if that is true, we got a loyal, loyal fan, Mexican Crip. Shout out to you. I see that name all the time in the chat. So shout out to you for joining us saying that that Vive drop is sold out mass. What are we doing? Doing the show live right now? We could have been buying some, uh, some Disney NFTs.So, uh, I, I mean, you said it that's bullish, right? If they're selling these out. I mean, and also, you know, so Disney, Hasbro, Mattel, all these companies getting in again, I just said it with the magazine companies, right? If you have not thought about getting into NFTs, what are you doing? Like, why are you not exploring how you can do it?I mean, McDonald's even right. The McRib NFT, um, you know, isn't this just an extremely bullish sign for these companies. Yeah. I mean, seeing them come onto this world is it's, it's, it's exciting. I'm curious to see how they implement it though, but yeah. Seeing a star wars side in a minute, it's pretty crazy.I want to look, is it mostly bots or how the process works? I'm going to do some research because I'm not sure we're going to, we're going to have to research that and see, and we'll have to try to get some, cause I mean, I, I'm a star wars fan. I'm a Marvel fan. Um, you know, so I wouldn't mind owning some just to collect them.Right. But I'm, I'm curious about the resell market to, you know, also there was the draft Kings NFTs, right. I was able to buy some of those and you were able to use your existing balance, right? So you couldn't just use a credit card on the spot. You had to have money in your draft Kings account, but you could just pay with that money to buy the.T. And I think that brought some new people to the space too, and those sold out, but they used to align process like top shot dead. Right? Where and Mexican Crip now saying it's mostly bots. Uh, you know, that would be the thing I would worry about. Yeah. Is, you know, if it's an instant sale and not align process, you're going to see a lot of bots get in there.Yeah, exactly. Yeah, man, these are all bullish. Just finding easier ways for people to get into that. If two worlds is exciting, I can't wait for Coinbase and see how that's going to work. If you're going to be able to use U S dollar from your Coinbase to buy NFTs. I mean, dude, that's gonna be huge. So yeah, I mean, mass with that being said, there was a rumor not too long ago, um, that open C uh, there, someone found in the code, I think visa, right. That you would be able to use a credit card. And we talked about that on the show. I know we did, uh, of how, you know, potentially that could make it easier for people to buy, but also could be scary, right. If you could. Use a credit card and start buying all this stuff. Um, you know, you think that brings more people too.And also with that being said, if, if open CCS competition coming from Coinbase could add in credit card payments, if open, see like announced that the same time Coinbase goes live, would that be like the ultimate way of, you know, trying to connect. Yeah. I mean, so there's been a lot of negative feedback for open C lately. You know, they've made a lot of money and they're not the best at customer service. So there's opportunity for another big player to come in and take over. I think that's definitely a possibility. Um, I love the competition. I think it's going to create the best product for the consumers and make it easier for people to come on.So, so game on baby. Yeah, and that's what we want to see. Right. We want it to be easier for the everyday person to be able to, you know, buy and sell NFTs. And I mean, you heard Fang gang say right. That, uh, you know, Coinbase, they welcomed the competition to open. See, so, uh, you know, I'm looking forward to Coinbase and again, you know, the, these different platforms like Vive partnering with Disney, I just think we're going to see more and more pop up and more and more ways for people to get involved with NFTs mass.I think that's going to do it. Uh, you know, it's been a great week. Uh, we'll be back next week, right? Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 2:00 PM. Eastern time. Uh, we've got some interviews, we'll be covering all the latest headlines and of course, interacting with our wonderful community here in the chat. Uh, anything you want to leave us off with today? No. The only thing is we're still early, right? We are in a slow process of NFTs right now. But once these things pick up, man, I hope everyone watching is ready because it's going to be fun. All right. May I ask, do you see this comment right now from mark? I've got a secret spider for $7, a foot for tough.Oh my goodness. We have got to look into, to even find out what this is all about, man. So next week we might have to do a whole segment on Vive. Maybe we take a look at that, but mark, that is awesome. Wonderful to hear happy for you. Um, and again, thanks to everyone in our chat for joining us today. And if you were watching this after we aired live, leave a comment on the video.Madison, I always go back. We read the comments. So just because you're not watching live does not mean you are not a loyal member of our community. We love everyone out there. So we will see you all next week.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-roadmap/donations

Um, I, I, Luke let's check in on the stock. Let's see how Dutch bros is doing right now. Up again. I mean, this stock has just been ripping all week. Oh, I wonder what the. Check with the one week return is on bros right now. Yep. And, and, and th this is the new coffee shop, uh, IPO craft producer.Does that sound right? Yes, sir. Yep. It's uh, specifically in the kind of Pacific Northwest, um, kinda, you know, out in, uh, Oregon, Washington, that part of the country, these are everywhere. They're like the Dunkin donuts in the Northeast where there's one on every corner in Boston. Um, and. I mean, it's up 25% this week alone, Luke.Um, I'm up for not going to lie. The drinks don't look like that. Good. Yeah. They look like, I mean, they kind of look like Dunkin donuts drinks, like super sort of shitty. Alright. Is if anybody's been to Dutch bros, will you please comment like this looks way better? Like maybe get this fall it's oh, is it PSL season?Yeah, it's definitely PSL season. It's definitely, they have a, so here's Starbucks. Here's let's look at the Dutch bros site. Yeah, the Starbucks drinks look just like so much more lowering. Wait, let's look at what we're getting into the chat. Um, Kira said I went to Arizona on vacation, visited Dutch bros and went every day. It's pricey, but it tastes amazing. All right. Matt says drinks are so bad. Cameron is not a fan of fan eye. So if you've been to, if you've been to Dutch bros, give us a one in the chat. Um, or a two, if you've been to Dutch bros and you like it, give us a one. If you do not like it, give us a two. Okay.Everybody likes touch for us clearly except for a Cameron Dole. Are you judging coffee brands by photos? Yes. The answer is we're doing D D right now. It's very serious, but, but, but I'll say beyond that, we're asking for a reason, right? It's it's not a brand that we have in Michigan where I live and that's why we're asking.STBC lives in Oregon. Yep. Um, so yeah, I mean, th this one's interesting for sure. I don't know if, if the stock will hang out at these prices, it's kind of hard to tell, right. After an IPO, you don't have a long, I wonder, do you know what the IPO is priced at prices three. I believe. I believe it opened that $36.I don't know what a bit priced at 23. Okay. Let, let, let's just talk through how this IPO mechanism works for a second producer, maybe. So, so, so there, there's a few prices to keep in mind when we're talking about IPO's. Uh, the first one. This is what the IPO price is at. Okay. And that, that sort of the first price that we get, and that's the price at which the company is selling shares out to the market. So, so and so when the company is creating 10 million new shares and dumping them on the market, that's the price at which the company is selling those shares to the market. Typically it's institutional shareholders that are buying those shares and they're, they're buying them, uh, before the stock typically starts trading. And generally speaking, the price increases from, from the, the, the first day of trading. There's a price increase versus where the stock price is at. So, so, so that's the first price, what the IPO price is at. And again, that, that that's where, where the company is, is selling their shares onto the market. Uh, the second price to keep in mind is where the stock opens.Okay. So, so the company is going to sell their shares for 23, but they're making that decision before the stock is actually trading. It's typically the next day that the stock is going to start trading. Um, and, and so basically the way that, that, that stock opening process looks like is, you know, the market maker gets all the buyers of the stock, all that.So there's a stock lines of. And figures out where exactly that bid-ask lands, uh, in, in, at what price the stock is going to start trading on the market. So, so, so we had the IPO priced at $23 a share that's the price of which Dutch bros sold it, sold shares to the institutions. Uh, then we have the open price at 32 50.That's the price at which the stock actually started trading. Uh, in today we are sitting at 53 times. Okay. So, so, so for, for any of those institutional investors who got in at 23, they've already more than doubled their money, uh, for anybody who got in, when the stock started trading at 32, you've already, you already have more than 50%.Um, so I mean, it's, it's definitely been a hell of a run for the, for the short lifespan as a public company. Yeah. I mean, look, I think any time you have an IPO and you're trading it right after, um, it's one of those things that you have to keep an eye on in your portfolio. Um, because, you know, th the IPOs tend to trade pretty volatile after, um, you know, in the months after. So if, if I have Dutch bros in my portfolio right now, look, I'm not selling it, but I'm going to be watching it like a Hawk. Yup. And they're asking for a tighter. Yeah. Um, we need a close up on loop. There we go. We're just going to do it like this. Okay. Um, let's grab first ticker out of the chat produce.Maybe I saw it. Well, I wanted to say I saw Marin earlier. It came in earlier. M R I N, and Luke, this is one, uh, I can share my screen and I can show my portfolio. I bought this stock yesterday. I'm up 20% on it. Let me find this one year chart daily candles that we're looking at right now, guys shows Zuma in producer AB rich Kaiser.Yeah, let's get it. These are daily candles, daily candles. What do you want? And here's here's five days. 10 minute candles. How's that? Uh, no, I want, I want the dailies, but I want it zoomed in on the last, like, say month or so. All right. Here are daily candles and you got about a month. Beautiful. Uh, yeah, I mean, it wasn't.So yesterday I was looking at the chart and the chart did look good to me. Like it, it, you know, it obviously had, um, it hadn't quite jumped up yet. So right now on the trade, it had jumped up. Not as much it as of right now, though. And on the trade I'm up. Let me check in my portfolio. Up 19%, Luke overnight 20% overnight, not an options trade just bought the stock and it happens to be up 20% today.Um, so let me know in the chat, is it time to sell? And, and so, so what is the company doing? Yeah, they do. And it's kind of a SAS company. Um, and they renewed a contract with Google. So the, you know, that obviously had a positive impact on, uh, on the, on the stock that they cause. So it bounced twice, which is honestly what I'm a little bit confused about.Cause I I've only seen the one news thing, so I don't know why it would bounce twice on two separate days off of one piece of news. You got some energy in it, baby. That's what it is. And shout out to Cameron Dolan. The chat is basically saying that if it holds up today, a stock looks good in his view. And I tend to agree with that. Right. We had that first pop. We had a hell of a sell off, off of the highs and now we're pretty much back up to those highs.Yeah. We're just kind of filling that gap, but, um, it is higher now. Uh, earlier today than it was on that previous peak. So it got to 9 93. Um, and now it's at 1127. So if we close above that, um, you know, previous, previous, I think we're in good shape and maybe a prudent shout out from Cameron in, in the chat saying, saying, don't make it binary.Don't make it. Should I buy or should I, should I hold? Or should I sell? You can sell half, right? You, you can start easing your way out of a position. And that might be the move. Yeah. What I say to you, Cameron is I like the way you think I'm going to go ahead and do that right now. As you can see here, I'll scroll down.History Benzinger article on there. Yep. Um, that's Randy Elias. I asked them today. Cause so, so Luke, we've talked about this before, how the whims came about was essentially Luke would be checking his portfolio and he would walk over to the news desk and say, Hey, Brent, um, you know, why is, why is my stock apple of 5% today?Or he'd say, Hey, Jason. Um, cause back in those days, Raz would, would work on the news desk like every day. And he would ask Raz like why his stocks were moving. So eventually we made a product out of, um, why it's moving. And I asked Randy kind of same thing. Like I was Luke, you know, however many years ago, that was, I was like, Randy, why is, why is Marin up 20% today? And you know, I was like, Hey, we should do a whim on it. So this is Randy. Shout out, Randy. History 22 hours ago, about $300 worth that's about 38 shares, 37.9 shares. So Cameron, what I am going to do is I'm going to sell 14 shares right now. Wait, no, I said, uh, 2019 I'll do 19 shares right now, but that's the.To sell 19 shares. So done. Thank you, Kevin, for the advice. Boom, boom. That's how we do on zinger nation. All right. Now you have proceeds. Let's roll it into something else. All right. Let me know what I should buy Fridays are for Yolo trades. I don't know if that's prudent advice lately, like selling half the position when you're already up, but typically by the time we get to Friday, I'm like so tired that I'm I'm in my Yolo trading ed.I gave another stock on get technical yesterday, which it probably wasn't the right show to give it on Luke because it wasn't based on technicals. It was based more on the fundamentals. Um, but that's FOC Fox FAC Fox F I want you to check out this because the company reported great earnings last report.Um, the stock has been really strong and I I'm looking for previous all-time highs in this trade. Okay. All right. Here's here's one, one here's one year chart, daily candles. Um, I don't know. I think it's fine. I think we just rip it. Like this is not just ripping it. I think we picked something that that's 40% today at high of day and you just load it.All right. I'll share. I'll share my sons. Find one. Damn why I in the chat, if anybody has symbols, top of mind that acting like that daily, daily movers, um, oh, no stop. I'm just going to use Benzinga pro for this. A E H R is the highest, the biggest mover today. You guys, you guys got that stock on this show at like $5, dude hit it.Let's go for a boy for a boy and high a day. We're all, all time highs. I'm going to buy some from all time highs. You're at high high a day. You're already up 36%. This exactly fits the profile for a Friday afternoon. Yolo trade volume. You're one of the last warm, warm weekends of the year. Let's do it.History five seconds ago, $200, 12 and a half shares of AHR. Shout out Ben of story trading. Um, yeah, so 12 and a half is weird. That would screw with me. I think I never bought a fractional share before. Isn't that weird ever? Never. Oh, well they didn't have it right when I started, it's like a new thing. I just always thought two or three years dollar amounts.Oh my God. We're already up. We were up bro, half a percent. I use it to pay down margin loans. Spencer Israel side said, said dividends for fractional shares. I told him I don't reinvest those dividends. He's a debate on my margin loans slowly, you know, work it down. Um, but all right, producer AB we have a very special in-office guest today.Yes, sir, Luke. Um, let's get to it. Uh, before we do, I have a quick little ad for our, uh, our swag that I want to play. We need, we need to send some more t-shirts out to the community. So if you want to get the swag I'll, I'll give you guys a little preview and I'll drop that link in the chat. Okay. What was that before?Do that pre preview the rest of our show as well. What else do we have on deck today? So we have obviously going to be checking in on your AHR trade. Yep. We will do that later in the show. We have Anthony Hughes join us. He is the founder and CEO of stocks, trading trouble. Tri stocks.com. Um, it is a new brokerage that has not yet launched, but it's taking signups on the waitlist.Um, so we'll bring him here. In-person Luke, very excited for this interview. Um, and then after that, we are going to talk about the big Bitcoin news in China, how, uh, China is cracking down on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and, uh, yeah, that should round out the. All right. All right. I'm producer AB ha ha.Give me a thumbs up if the audio sounds okay. We're trying something new. You guys hear you. Okay. But we got the thumbs up. All right. We have for the first time, in quite a while, maybe, maybe almost a year at this point in, in office guest. So, so, so Anthony, you came all the way out here from Iowa to visit us or maybe, or some other reason you're in town, but regardless you are here in Detroit, Michigan. How are you doing today? Man, get access to actual news and market research with all the information you need to invest smarter and profit faster. Start your free trial today@prodotbenzinga.com. I'm good man. First time in Detroit, um, I'm from the Pacific Northwest eventually, or, you know, whatever. Um, but uh, yeah man, first time in Detroit, um, I was great.Detroit's awesome. A nice little. But, uh, yeah, it's good to be out here, man. All right. So, so, so good. Give us a little bit of your background. Tell us about your, your trading, investing career. Any, anything else that that just helps us give us a little bit of context? Yeah, for sure. So, um, I mean, I'm a division one wrestler, so I love to compete, um, or former division I'm too old now, but, um, yeah, so I love to compete. So when I was in college, Kind of started trading, um, the, the old school OJI platforms. Um, and then Robin hood showed up on the scene, made it a lot easier for guys like us to start trading. And yes, I've been about trading for about a decade now, a self-taught YouTube kind of YouTube university kind of helped out with, with the trading.Learnings and whatnot, but, uh, yeah, so trading for about a decade management, all my own portfolios and funds and, uh, just love it. Absolutely love it. Okay. But, but, but then you said Robin hood is not enough, right? You, you mentioned that, that you were from like, you know, the, the traditional brokerage is you made the move to Robin hood, but then something happened where you said Robin hood is not enough and now you're, you're launching your own business. So, so tell us about that and why you're getting. Yeah, so, ah, fantastic question. Um, but, uh, so back in January, um, we all know the turmoil that happened in the markets. Um, and I was actually working on another software company at the time. Um, so stock trading is my fourth company and successfully exited two of them already. So it was working on another SAS product and. How's laying in bed, reading through Bloomberg and Benzinga and Yahoo finance, and all of a sudden you can't trade GameStop anymore. And I was like, ah, yeah, this isn't gonna, this isn't gonna work. There's a marketing issue here. And so it was like five 30 in the morning. So I wake my wife up. I was like, ah, Jill, I'm going to start another company today. She's like, no, please don't do that. Please just work on what you're working on. And, um, I was like, give me 36 hours. Let's see what else. And, um, so launch stocks trading with a landing page, uh, bought 500 bucks worth of Facebook advertising. And, uh, we had 1400 people sign up for the waitlist and about 30 hours. So, um, so stocks trading is, is what we're working on. Okay. All right. And, and, and one, I love how easy, like, like, you know, the CPC advertising makes it right where you can just throw something out there and quick get quick market feedback.Cause we, we love to do that as well when we're testing new products. Um, but, but, but tell us a little bit about the stock's trading experience. Like what, what, what should users expect? Um, you know, how are you going to be interfacing with the users? Yeah, that's fantastic. So, um, I think we need to start from kind of the unique value proposition that we have for, um, our users specifically.Um, we are attempting to create the first user owned financial platform, um, the first iteration of that big retail trading app. And, um, and that was pretty much the market sentiment at the time when everybody thought like these retail trading apps were kind of on the retail traders side, um, and then turns out. They weren't and like, and so when looking at the market, how we're going to build our go to market strategy, I was like, man, let's just, uh, let's give away 500,000 people shares of our company. And, um, and so that's literally what we're doing is we're giving away, um, about a quarter of our company right now, just to users so that we can.Always put our people first. Right. And that, that needs to be the sentiment of companies like moving forward. It's like when you. Your customers and your people first, they're going to be evangelists for you and they're going to be life long customers. And so that is literally our value proposition right now.And it kind of falls off of what Warren buffet has believed for forever. It's that shareholders make the best customers. Right. So what does Warren buffet do? He only drinks Coca-Cola he only eats dilly bars. He only buys his mattresses at Nebraska furniture Mart. I mean, so he is a consumer of the companies that he owns. And so with those, uh, kind of building blocks in place, giving shares away of our company, Putting our people first, uh, we're going to build a kick-ass company, man, and it's going to be for the people by the people. Okay. That's sweet. And I'm learning about this at the same time. That's all you, all of you guys are.So, so, so let me ask this in terms of the mechanism for, for users to get those shares, is it, uh, users who are on the waitlist? Uh, and then they go ahead and they create the account when available. Um, and then that's their, their gifted shares. Is it, is it basically work like that? Does everybody get shares in proportion?Uh, what, what exactly does that. Yeah. So, um, so right now, uh, w w our app, our trading platform will launch October 17th, knock on wood. Uh, that's what the engineers told me this week. Um, so in about a month in three and a half weeks, three and a half weeks. So, uh, we're, we're going to beta launch in about three weeks. And, uh, so right now, it's you gotta to try stocks.com. There's a button that says, join waitlist, get five free shows, throw it up, try, try songs.com. Um, join the wait list. There's no obligation. Um, we would hope that you download the app when it's ready, but, um, so during the waitlist, we're giving five shares away and, um, and then the mechanism that we will, the vehicle that we'll be using in order to give those shares away is through a share drop, um, on Republic.Um, so we're partnered with Republic, uh, to be able to administer those shares. And, um, yeah, so just join the wait list and then eventually download the app. You'll get, you'll get you. Um, and, uh, yeah, man, like that is literally what I'm dedicated to right now. It's building a good app and giving the shares away, so.Okay. And, and, uh, our users are going to be curious about the backend, right? Like, like who, who are you clearing through? Who, whose custodian the assets. Can you, can you talk us through that? Yeah. So, um, so we're a tech company, right? Um, we, we're not a broker dealer. And so when, um, when I launched the company back in February, um, for what I did, it would realize how much, like, how much you needed to like, be in compliance with regulations to start a trading company.Um, cause I was a SAS guy, not a FinTech guy. And um, so it was like, oh man, like there's a lot of stuff to do. So, um, so we are kind of using the neobank. To where, um, a FinTech company can essentially launch a bank account and be sponsored by bank or BB VA or something like that. Um, and so our sponsoring broker dealers, alpaca markets, and they're a San Francisco based API broker dealer. And, um, yep. You guys know them. Yeah. You guys know them well. And, um, and so the reason why we, we chose them was. I think what Robin hood did. And if we back up for a second to talk about how brokerages retail brokerages, 0% commission brokerages make money, is it. By order flow or by commissions, like, I mean, those are the only really two main ways to do it.And so that was a big, um, thing for me was when Parker partnering with alpaca, I needed to know exactly how they cleared. Right. And so, um, so instead of selling it to the same, uh, clearing firm, like Citadel or something like that, So that doesn't get us in trouble by saying that, but, um, but like they, they go by best bed only, and they had about seven different clearing houses that they go through. And so, so it's truly a, it goes with our ethos of, you know, trying to put the user in the customer first. Uh, but then eventually on our roadmap, we do have some aspirations. Uh, broker-dealer as well. So, um, but that's further down the line. That's the boring part, but the fun part is the tech side. Right?Building the application, figuring out what data to put in there, what the interface is going to be like. Yeah. Leave that to a backup and a huge shout out to alpaca. If you guys don't know them, uh, uh, they, they just had some news. They raised a pretty big round. I don't remember. It was like 75 million or something.Yeah. So you just raised a big round. And I remember this was, must've been probably three years ago, visiting their offices in, in, uh, Palo Alto. It was somewhere out there and it was like, like four people there, like total, you know, it was like two co-founders and when do software engineers and I'm like is ambitious what they're going after, but, you know, Hey, that's you best of luck and they're doing it.So, okay. All right. So, so, so, so that's the business. What about the stocks? You have favorite stocks on your radar right now? This is the trade idea shows. So you have to give us at least one,no one judged me for this. Okay. But I, uh, I just bought the massive dip on Virgin later. Or Virgin, sorry, Virgin galactic. So, um, so I'm, I brought the dip, um, let's see about three weeks ago, four weeks ago, and that, see that, that nice, that nice dip. Yep. Um, so bought it, I think it touched like 22 or something like that.Uh, bought it. So I'm not, um, I am a yellow. Just because I have to be stocks, trading, baby, like diamond hands to the moon. Um, but uh, I like Virgin galactic kind of long-term I love the billionaire space race right now. Um, I think there's a lot of momentum, um, but I'm also a, um, Alfa Dubai writes on everything I do.So, um, so I'll do covered calls. Um, I'll sell poets, um, to, to reduce my cost basis. And so that's what I'm doing on Virgin Atlantic or Virgin galactic because, um, li. Oh, yeah. You get super long. Yeah. I'll get along. Yeah. I'll get along. Yeah. Which I, I love the selling the puts because it at least reduces my cost basis while I'm waiting.Um, but I'll be like 10% under, like, you know, and if I get assigned on it, that's fine. And then we'll hit it again. So we'll, I'll dollar cost average, like, until it finally turns around and in his reversal. All right. I like it. Uh, what about GameStop? You long it still, or no, I got long again. For the first time in months, was it?I don't know if anybody in the chat remembers, but it was one or two weeks ago. Um, I had been out of it for awhile. I think I had the best game stop trade of anybody. I, uh, Got our game sub-story was crazy. So, so we had, when Andrew left from her, when he came out against the stock and I was like 40 bucks, he broke that news on this show, this show that we're doing right now, that's where he broke the news. And I saw so much energy flowing into like the chat that I'm like, okay, this is special. And that's what triggered me to buy the stock in the forties. Did I paper hands it? Yes. But my sale price was $420 in 69 cents. You're not going to get up at like six 15 in the morning. Like, like I, I checked my, my, my broker Jack.Pre-market like, when I got up, like, you know, like, like five 30 or something like that, I saw it was close through that limit on there, got in the shower. By the time I was out of the shower, filled it for 20, 69. It wasn't meant to be, but I'm, I'm long again, as of a couple of weeks ago, I'm back in the name. We're where are you at with it? And the chat hates that I'm in this stock too. They think it's all dead money. Well, I'm not, I can't comment on the dead money part because. I own a diamond hands company, but, um, yeah, I'm not in game stop. Um, I got out quite a bit ago. I'm still an AMC. Um, I hit AMC at like eight bucks, nine bucks. And I'm still riding that, um, with the, so the momentum trades are, or, I mean, it's, I don't know whether you call it momentum trades anymore. Just how many retail investors are behind these, but I learned my lesson with doge. Um, so I had doge for like six months. Um, I bought it at 0.0, zero 5 cents. There's five tenths of one penny.Um, and I held it and I was like, no, just us not leaving. And so I was like, I'm done, I'm out of it. I sold it January 21st of this year. Uh, Elon Musk tweeted like 47 seconds later and it, and it's been on a tear ever since. So I did learn my lesson with not sticking in with the means. Um, but once I hit a hundred percent, I'm out, I got to rotate to something else personally, but no, don't tell, don't tell that many people about it.So. Alright. And let's ask this one too, guys. Uh, let, let, let, let's get Anthony some help here. Uh, put in the chat. What is most important for you w with a, with a brokerage app? Right? So, so he he's building this thing actively right now. Like, I, I, this, this idea is coming from somebody in the chat said, please give us, it was, it was rich guys are said, please give us a little bit more charting power.Um, But, but guys drop in the chat. What is really important for you for, for your brokerage product and, and, you know, if we're all shareholders, maybe we band together and we start voting on these things. And there we go, um, back to the charting power. So some of that were engineering and I showed the team a little bit of the app.Maybe I'll send it over and we can throw it up sometime. Um, but what we're trying to balance. You got to give Robin hood props for building a absolutely beautiful product and business. I mean, you got to give him props, but from a charter, well, from a charting perspective, it's like, there's not that much. And then we will rolls out and they give a lot of charting, but it's hard to use or in the feels like trading view. Right. And so, so what we're trying to do is like take the design flawlessness of Robin. With overlay charting. So we're going to have Mac D and Bolinger bands and everything, but we're re we're reducing the amount of functional functionality you can actually do with the chart itself. And that kind of balance allows us to give more technical indicators without making an impossible to use. Um, and then secondly, kind of our roadmap, but you mind if I tell a little bit about the roadmap, um, We're going to launch, um, the trading up here in three weeks, hopefully. Um, but uh, on the roadmap, we're actually launching a neobank as well.So we are partnering with bank Corp to offer checking accounts, savings, accounts, debit cards, credit cards, personal loans. I mean like the whole gambit. Um, and then, um, Q1 Q2 of next year, we'll throw in portfolio management so people can, um, manage their HSA is 401ks IRAs in the platform as well. And we really want to build a super, a super app for, uh, for the re just the retail money manager themselves.Right. And that's kind of what we're calling ourselves now is like we're retail money managers. Like we're managing our own portfolio. We do the best. I don't have to pay somebody a percentage. Um, and you know, with partnerships like Benzinga and stuff, we can trade and train and educate, um, our people to, uh, to trade better. So, and then we'll get through a crypto wallet in there too, but that's next year. So. Okay. And what about this one? I, I see a lot of ideas coming in for, in here. Some more useful than others. Probably the most important one that I see is the confetti, the confetti animation. You know, I think that that one had to get taken out, unfortunately, when the IPO happened, but you know, users like the confetti, I showed the boys here at, uh, Benzinga last night, a little bit of the app.And when you execute a trade, it says, um, do you want to launch. And it's a rocket ship. And so the, so we actually built in an animation to where you swipe up to trade a rocket ship follows and then hits a moon. So we have like a moon that comes down and explodes the moon. So we couldn't do the confetti.I'm pretty sure there's a little design IP behind that, but, um, but the rocket into the, the rocket into the moon is what we have. Yes. Yes. I am all about the rocket. Yeah. All right. That's awesome. Um, it, any other questions you guys have for Anthony drop them in the. Um, uh, otherwise in any, any final words of wisdom for us, um, I guess wisdom be a smart trader, right?Like, um, and like that is what we're buy the stock sell puts, uh, you know, of course by the high of all time, hold it. Um, no, it's like, you know, when you hit 30, 40, 50% in gains, especially on these beam stocks, um, and this is what we're having to tell our community now. Is, um, eventually you got to take your profits, right? And so I liquidate liquidate, liquidate. If you're up a hundred percent, maybe reduce position by half rotate. I'm not a money manager. Right. But like, um, that, those are my words of wisdom. Right. And so, um, take your profits, have fun, continue to learn. Um, and they get on stocks trading. So. All right, guys, I'm gonna put the link in the chat. One more time. Really neat concept that giving the shares away to your users. I didn't know about that until just now. That's awesome. I'm all about it. Um, let me ask you one more, uh, Republic. Why why'd you choose Republic, uh, of all the platforms you could have partnered with for, for the. Yeah, great question. So, uh, we actually raised a small, um, pre-seed round on we funder. Um, and, uh, and so we have about 10,000 people on the wait list right now. And so, um, we want to be as community driven as possible, which is why we're going crowdfunding route. Um, we are trying not to. A single dollar from a VC. Um, this is like one of our tenants is like, we don't want investment banks. We don't want VCs because as soon as I put three VCs on my board, now I become beholden to the VCs instead of our users. And so a Republic has a very good track record with getting FinTech companies, launched crypto companies launched, um, and, and they also offer. A crowdfunding platform that offers a share drop. And so they're going to be facilitating the share job, allocating the shares to our users, uh, once they sign up for the waitlist and a, which that will be done at the end of October. So I would just fill it a filing the partnership with Republic right now. But, uh, yeah, so like they they're able to facilitate that shared route for us, which is why we essentially went with them. All right. That's awesome, man. I appreciate you stopping by. I appreciate you hanging out with us and the crowd that the chatters out there. Zinger nation is definitely a fan of the concept. Cool. Alrighty, sir. Appreciate you. Thanks you guys. That was Anthony Hughes of stocks trading. The link is in the chat. Please go check out the website and sign up if you have not already. Um, let's take a quick peek into my portfolio. We'll see how those trades are doing. Um, check in on AHR as well as Marin. Let's see. So Luke, I'm down about a percent and a half in Marin right now are not married.AHR, not worried about. Um, as Ben from story trading, Rowan, can I get the camera, the camera height right today? I mean, Jesus. All right. How about that one? That was a pretty cool concept. DV, isn't it? Yeah. I mean, I I'm, I'm all about it, Luke. I don't know. I don't know about you, but I might have to assign a sign up for an account and switch my Robinhood over. Okay. Yeah. Well, hopefully when you, uh, when this AHR. I mean, Ben said maybe, or what's the deal Cole.I just bought it about 20 minutes ago. Um, Ben settle on the show. He had a very hefty, ambitious price target of about $50. So honestly, if this, if this goes down a couple bucks, Luke, and I'm down, you know, so it's a swing trade. Do not let your swing trades turn into long-term investments, especially since I've peer pressured you into making.I will feel accountable. No, I mean, Hey, if $50 is in the future, I want to be. All right. If you say so, it will say, it looks like we might be, we might be getting some legs back in HR. Maybe you get some green candles going. Yeah, I need some green candles. Let's check back in on Marin, Marin software. M R I N um, up about 25% today, Luke.So definitely some you hit this one yesterday. Oh, well, Cole bought AHR at his at Ben's last interview at seven. Good. First I bought this one yesterday, Luke, there were a few factors that went into it. Rodrigo. I sold Marin because I didn't sell all my mare and I sold half of it. Um, because you already have 20% of the day, right.Someone told me to Cameron Dole told me to, and I said, Hey, he sounds smarter than me. So, um, I did it, um, Let me see what else is in my portfolio. That's moving in a day. Look, FUBU has just been a dog for me. People in that chat will probably hate on me for this. Cause I talk about absolutely 110% a, uh, but selling candidate. It is, it is let's zoom it out. So here's here's one year chart, daily candles to super, super tight range. Yeah. I w let's put that one on the books for next week. Maybe let's find some quotes that we can sell against. Yeah, I think last time we checked on it, there maybe just wasn't, uh, like that much premium that we'd be raising, but maybe, uh, you know, some the higher Vicks and applied Ivy that the premium will be good on those.I mean, I'm not out of this trade yet, but it's just been doing nothing for me. I mean, it's like Anthony was talking about with the OSHA and he said it was just ranged around for so long that he got bored of the trade, um, sold then as soon as he did it, it, it spiked. Um, all right. We can't see. What stock this is, but let me guess. So it said 1147. Um, give me an industry.Wait, what are we looking for? You have this stock, sorry. I just wasn't paying attention. We couldn't see the name of it. So I was going to guess I was asking for the industry, but, um, I don't know if I would have gotten that one. All right. Uh, what about the crypto market today? AB what. So China as has been typical China fashion for the past, you know, few months, um, you know, has been ramping up China's, uh, you know, regulation and involvement in, um, business in general. And so basically right now, China came out and said, uh, Holly was down to 1 45. I know it's it's, it's not, she, it, anybody inbox. I got out of my Baba trades. I'm still, I'm still looking. I might get into some leaps here soon. Dude, if you bought PABA three years ago, your break even let's look at how the numbers have changed over that same period of time. They've probably increased the revenue by a buck. So over that same three years, they've doubled revenue and the stock is flat. Uh, happy. My average for FUBU is yep. 29, 76. So I don't know. Did, I mean down 1300? I don't know where everybody's at on a Baba dude.Alright, Baba. One of you like it too, if you don't. I mean, this is so we're looking right now. This is a ten-year chart with monthly candles. Okay. So we're zoomed away. I mean, this thing is ugly. Bottom of range to support from three years ago. Matter sort of maybe, um, dude, I can't leave Bob. I was down to 1 45.I hadn't looked at it in a couple of weeks. I mean, last time I checked, it was still holding on around around 200 dropping another 25% on that shout out lava. Why do you like it too? You don't. I see a couple twos popping in there. Uh, Yeah, I think I'll get into a Baba trade at about 1 35, maybe one 30. So, so let's look at these Baba financials for a second.Let's do some, some quick valuation math. So net income on Baba 45. Uh, this is really inconsistent. This is tough. If you average these three quarters, what do you have? You have, uh, 1 25 by three. So doing $40 million of profit a quarter, roughly. So that's 160 million a year, or I'm sorry. 160 billion a year. The market cap is 400 million AB. So what is that 400 divided by one 60 stocks trading at two and a half times. P E. S and P averages is closer to what? Five, 10 S and P average, no way, way higher. You think talking about PE? Oh, okay. Not. Uh, price to, so, uh, Dan saying he loves Baba at one 20, I think, anywhere down there in that one 20 to 30.All right. So 34 that that's the average for the S and P 500 is, is 35, basically average PE ratio. Ali-Baba Xavier wants me to stop saying Ababa, but sorry, but Alibaba's at two and a half times, and that just shows the market sentiment on this. I think as soon as we see institutions willing to come in and take on the potential risk for this, for how crazy undervalued it is.No. Let's think about what that risk is like. What's the biggest risk. The biggest risk is it gets privatized right in, in, in everybody. Is Sol that's the biggest risk? Is that realistic? I don't know. The market seems like it's pricing in some of that. I w what other risks could there be like, could there be regulation that hurts their ability to sales?Maybe? I mean, I I'm, I'm in the boat that I think China long-term, we'll be doing, um, you know, Jack ma went missing. We, we, we don't know if it's the real Jack model that came back. Uh, and we, I heard him talk. I think we have, but there's like a bunch of rumors saying that they think it's like an actor playing Jack, Bob, but he's also breaking it up.That's one solar and UPSes to solar up is thrown out there. Yeah. I mean, there's an argument to be made loop that the potential risks, um, outweigh the potential, uh, for growth in this stock. I would however, be willing to take on that risk longterm. Um, because I think that China will be doing what it is and its power to become, uh, the economic kind of, you know, super power of the world. And I don't think breaking up it's big as company will be, um, you know, part of that plan, but we we'll see, do you have your brokerage account open? I don't. I do. Can you price me out? What are some one 20 December puts going $420 strike December. Um, one 20 let's do December 17th by puts one 20 puts are five, 10, $500.So $5 a share. Is that right? Can you zoom in again? Yup. I got a little.Normally the low on the, on the day for this contract was $4 and 91 cents. The high is $5 and 20 cents. So try to be a decent move. So you sell one contract. You're going to get $500 right away for selling the contract, right? $5 a share times at times, a hundred shares in a contract. So you get 500 bucks right away.Uh, as long as Ali Baba is above $115 on December 20th or whatever the date is that these contracts expire. Uh, you keep your 500 bucks and enrolled into something else. Bad case scenario. Let's say the stock goes down to 75. Right. I mean, that would be another halfing of, of where it is now that then you're on the hook for 70, you know, the 115 minus 75 times a hundred. So then you're on the hook for four GS, I think another way to play it, Luke would potentially be looking out to these very long-term. So others, this one's January 20, 20, 23. Um, so yeah, this is a year and a half away. Um, maybe like something like a $180 strike price it, or you could even go further. I mean, I can sort of get behind that.Okay. So, so let's think about this one. Hold on. I'm sitting down. So, so, so you're going away out to January 20, 23. So that's 15 months. Yep. Uh, You do go back to $18. What was that? 180 strike. A hundred lady strike is, is about, um, you know, it'd be about two grand to pick up this contract, but I mean, Luke, I would be so, so, so shocked if in a year from now Baba, isn't up to, you know, say $200 or so.Yeah. So you're paying two grand today. If the stock got back up to two 50, uh, then you make, make seven grand off your. That's not horrible. Yeah. I mean, we'll take that. We'll take, uh, you know, 300%, 200% any day of the week, I think. Uh, so a long time. So you're way out. It's not a 200% trade in among the one benefit to doing a trade like this compared to selling the puts is, you know, exactly how much you could potentially lose in the 1890.I mean, if for whatever reason, Baba just tanked and got below that $115 price, you would have to. Well, you'd have to buy a hundred shares at one to, to buy yourself out. Um, and for someone like me that has a smaller portfolio this way, I know exactly how much I would potentially be on the hook for. Um, and I would only do this if I was willing to take on, um, you know, about $1,900 worth of risk, um, for a potentially very profitable trade and think about too.How could you hedge it a little bit? Right. So, so you could buy those calls. Uh, that's risky too. And I was going to say, and you could also do like short something like a J D dot. Yeah, but I think all I'm using that one, another Chinese name, less volatility. I wouldn't short something like jd.com just because I think it's also gotten beaten down.Um, so I feel like if, if we have news, that's good for Baba. Baba is moving up that J D will probably as well. I'm thinking about it, like as, as a hedge and I mean, using the jd.com, because again, it's another Chinese tech giant, but less. Oh, I see what you're saying so that if there is more and more bad news than JD goes down and we're at least making some money off that, um, while our Baba call is getting smacked.Um, yeah, and I like STB CS recommendation. So, so rather than buying the calls AB and shelling out that, that 1900 bucks you could burn the money and be warm for about a minute. Yeah. I mean, that, that does provide some value. Um, I get behind that. I think there are other, you know, if you're not that risk averse, um, you know, there are other opportunities out there that will be not as risky.Um, but at the end of the day, some of the more risky trades to end up paying off in longterm, I'm not saying I'm going out and buy and Baba. But like I said earlier, if it gets down to the 120, $130 range, I'll be looking at contracts again. Okay. And hacks is throwing out another suggestion. This, this one, I th th this trade idea, I think is a little bit better than the STBC one use at $1,900.Don't buy the Baba calls and buy tacos, like ground beef. We talking chicken, pork taco, taco bell, for sure. 1900 tacos. Can we, um, what's the company yum. They own taco bell, right? Uh, it's sort of confusing. Uh, yum owns owns taco bell in certain geographies. I believe it operates through the following segments, KFC pizza hut, taco bell division habit, burger grill.I've never heard of habit for a good grill. Um, I don't know. I mean, this. Wow. It's been it's up over a hundred percent over the past year, or, you know, this symbol AB while we're on the topic you went on this one, what is it? Y U M C you know that one? Yum. See, oh, this one out China. Yeah. No, that key, uh, KFC is absolutely huge in China.I don't know why, but it is never been, everyone loves tacos. Yep. That's true. Yeah. I mean, yum. So, so here's the thing, Luke, look at this. So if I have, if I pull up the five-year chart, we can see right here where the COVID crash was and it got all the way down to $58 currently at 125. But even before COVID.I mean, it was at about 120 bucks and trading lower. I mean, it got all the way up to like way higher than its, uh, you know, pre COVID levels. And I think a lot of these fast food chains actually did pretty decent during COVID. Um, when people couldn't go sit down at restaurants and whatnot, you had food delivered.Um, so, so this could be interesting to me because if you think about it, if we go into another lockdown, they're going to be better off then, you know, we're not locking down again. I don't think, I think no way in hell. I, I think so either, but that's also good news for the stock that we're doing fully vaccinated.AB I am. I wonder where the chat is that people might not like this. I'm curious, the country's vaccine. Now I would guess the chats about 50, 50, I guess, about 55. If you want to vote, we're going to make you vote on stocks. We won't make you vote on this one. One, if you are too, if you're not, I was a holdout, but eventually got it.My point, uh, that I was going with Lucas that I think that I think yum is kind of insulated from any like coronavirus fears because w you know, everything goes, according to plan, people are going to be going out more, spending more money at drive-throughs. Um, and if something does happen, they're going to be in a better position than some of the relatives.Wow. This chat is exactly 50 50.It's boring to be Friesen too, but I have COVID born and I hope everything's okay in the comment right before that is one, but very Anthony mandate. Yeah. That's kind of where I stand too. I think it's very silly. Um, any mandate? I think, uh, obviously companies have a right to. Uh, you know, do like set any regular.Yeah. In addition to being tired, I'm all about private enterprise. Do it, do what you will. There are choices. I don't think like the New York city one, like, I'm totally against that. Like, I don't think cities or state entities, um, should be Amanda mandating max vaccines. But I think people that are upset that companies do it.It's like, look, companies do what they want. You know, you don't know if they brought that shit to Michigan, wholly. Oh, people would burn the state down. Yes. People would riot. Uh, no. It's producer AB yeah. I mean, that would really all let us know in the chat while you're watching today. I had my eyes on the cryptocurrency at large, obviously with the China news, not great.Um, you know, China outlawing cryptocurrency as a whole, I don't know. Uh, so, so in China, there's a funny, I just got a text message from. I mean Uber user, I've never been a driver, uh, asking if I sit, inviting me to be an Uber driver. I wonder if the store, I mean, we're struggling with drivers right now, which could potentially drive up prices of Uber's if there's a shortage of supply.Um, so I don't know. I don't, I hate Uber stock. I just absolutely hate it. We never traded it before. I just. I don't like it. I'm not a fan. I'm not a fan of any of 'em. Oh, grub hub. Isn't a stock anymore. They're like sold to just eat takeaway, um, dash I don't like any of these companies that are essentially, you know, what a stock I love that we haven't talked about in forever. The most tried and true steady grind stock of all time. Apple game stop. No, I'm just kidding. We haven't talked about it in awhile. Uh, for. No tried and true. Uh, I mean, apple would be my guess, put it up. I'm not even looking at them. I'm looking at my brokerage. Uh vis-a-vis. It just grinds man. And it pays a dividend to the reason why I'm bringing them this one up now is I was just looking through it through my brokerage account of looking at what's up and down.We haven't talked about this one for a while. It pays a dollar 20 a year dividends, not like it's a huge dividend. But it's just one of those stocks that I've owned forever plan on continuing to own forever. This is a five-year charter, zoom it out more. This is a ten-year chart. I mean, there's no quick rips or depths. We had that COVID of course, but generally speaking, I mean, it is a very study stock. It's a highly embedded stock, right. It's tough to work out of the economy. Um, you know, people are going to say crypto could be the thing that would, but I mean, come on, but let let's, let's give it a little bit of time there.Um, But, but visa. Great, great, great stock to sell. Puts against as well study income. You don't get a ton for selling the puts, but again, if you could assign the shares, uh, you're buying the stock below whatever it was trading at whenever you sold the puts and, and you're owning a very, very steady tried and true stock it's is a core holding in my brokerage core holding and we never talked.I mean, yeah. I think the, the, the credit card industry has been huge. We'll see a lot of these continue to grow. Um, why do you prefer visa compared to some of its competitors? I see MC in their MasterCard. No, no reason to tell you the truth. Okay. Now I have the reason look at this. So here's the 10 years.Oh, I didn't hit, see, wait, what's mastered. Oh wait. Oh, I'm a that's right. I'm a very similar chart. No reason. I guess, to tell you the truth visa is a stock that visa or MasterCard. I don't know. I think it would be so let's see. I think I have both. I got two. I have a work card and a personal card on me.Yeah. Both visas. Wow.I have a master Sarabi when we go to Orlando on the eighth. So does that two weeks from today. All right guys, two weeks from today, producer at AB and I are going to hang out in Orlando for a few days. You all should seriously consider coming. It's going to be a lot of fun in twit. Ju Jonah Lupton. It's taken us two.Wait, is it over a weekend? Yeah. Frick. Yeah. Yep. Friday to Sunday. Exactly. We're going to get in Friday night and come home Sunday night. So I'm saying everybody should come hang out with us. Uh, but, but you want to be fun. AB is I've been banking, credit card points, all of COVID. We should just blow them all in, in this, this 48 hours. Can they be just on like $3,500 of points? Will you get the bus flight around and then we'll get the, yeah, we'll get a suite hotel room. Anthony. Anthony will be there. Anthony, let us know. Um, anyone who's planning on going, uh, shoot us an email@showsupbenzinga.com and I'll make sure I pack a bag of swag.Um, yeah, there you go. Yes. Even if you're not just registering now, please email sh uh, power. No, do let's do power hour because I'm on that one. Female power hour happens in the.com. Both a and I. Um, I just don't want to overload your inbox, but I got to make sure with Luke beforehand, that I'm good to, uh, you know, check a bit or I can't, what if the only thing I bring down Luke is like a carry on full of Benzinga swag. And then I don't have anything, any, any room left for my own gear. I'm fine with that. And if anybody has feedback for Benzing, I'm dropping a number in there as well. Uh, you know, go ahead and get that number of. Um, and share any feedback you have for us, but our AB our time has come to an end. Our time has come to an end coming up.We have get technical, uh, mark Petrino the D. Oji Udezue is the Chief Product Officer at Parsible and was formerly the VP of Product at Calendly. Melissa Perri describes him as “one of the best product leaders I have ever met.” His extensive experience in both B2B and B2C companies, including Microsoft and Atlassian, has given him insight into how to set strategy, even in companies where there is none. He joins Melissa to talk about what it takes to implement a product-led strategy, and how to influence a culture shift in your organization. Here are some key points from their discussion: Oji defines being product-led as “increasing customer focus… It means infusing the entire company with this idea that it's more efficient for everyone… to really execute on a really great product that pulls itself forward. And if you can do that then your ability to make profit actually increases…” [2:40] The role of the CPO is to understand the company goals, vision, and mission and track an efficient product course to achieve that. The CPO's biggest leverage is deciding what to invest in and what not to, Oji says. [6:13] A draft strategy is a lightning rod: it gets the discussion started. Oji uses the VMSO (vision, mission, strategies, objectives) framework to draft strategy. Melissa asks him to advise product leaders who want to start drafting a strategy. He urges them to write it down and then socialize it. He also emphasizes that your draft strategy should be good: people should see wisdom and truth in it. [13:10] Oji predicts that all enterprise companies will become B2C in 10 years. [22:05] Melissa asks what is product-led growth. Oji defines the term and explains what it takes: a good product with great market fit, a good brand, good word of mouth and virality. [27:02] You have to expand your addressable market constantly to stay in the game. [30:38] Oji and Melissa discuss how product leaders can help change their company culture.
