Reversal - Software stocks bounced this week on strong results from Snowflake and Okta, which both recorded their best days on record. - The results signal that investors may have been too quick to declare the end of software with the emergence of artificial intelligence. - Even as AI displaces certain tools and job functions, many software companies continue to show growth, assisted by their own AI products. - The iShares Expanded Tech-Software exchange-traded fund rose 8% this week and closed May up 21%, the best monthly performance for the ETF since October 2001. - With this month's rally, the iShares software ETF is only down 3.8% for the year, still badly trailing the Nasdaq, which has gained 18% in 2026. Its system can control multiple displays with different aspect ratios at the same time by using a single-on-chip, which is different from other conventional in-vehicle display systems, LG said. - But 24% on this news? - More reason that the KOSPI is moving higher No One Care - But... - Inflation has been above the 2% target for 5 years now - Minneapolis Federal Reserve President Neel Kashkari said Thursday that bringing down inflation in the U.S. remains his top priority, warning that consumer prices are still “much too high.”| - Speaking to CNBC's Kaori Enjoji at the Bank of Japan-IMES Conference, Kashkari said that the U.S. central bank would continue taking a “balanced approach” to its dual mandate of price stability and full employment. - 5 YEARS! ---- What that tells us is that the Fed is totally unable to do anything about inflation .... Are we the only ones that see that? Inside Baseball - From a colegie that will go un-named. --- Let's just say he is someone who knows what they are talking about and runs BIG money ----- This is what he said to me..... - Apparently, oil execs were opining with POTUS in meetings yesterday that oil inventories are at alarmingly low levels and oil prices could soon skyrocket (I might soften that language a bit but they know the oil biz better than me) if SoH does not open soon. - I ran a few numbers on total oil inventories including and excluding the SPR. - Total supplies are 10th percentile vs history (although that includes a period when the SPR ramped from 0 to 600mln barrels in the 1980's). - Today it is 4th percentile if you start from 1990 when the SPR was basically full. - The 4 week net and % draw the last 3 weeks are the largest draws of all time. - And not surprising the 1 week net and % draw of the SPR are also the 2 largest draws of all time the last 2 weeks. Surprised - No.... --- This is another story similar to what we saw a few months ago - Taiwan prosecutors suspect that three individuals smuggled at least one shipment of Nvidia Corp. AI chips to China after first exporting them to Japan. - The trio was detained for allegedly falsifying documents related to exports of Super Micro Computer Inc. servers containing advanced Nvidia chips, which the US has barred from sale to China without a license. - Taiwan authorities seized about 50 servers for which they accuse the trio of preparing fraudulent export documents, but at least one shipment had already gone through Taiwan customs and made it to Hong Kong. Under/Over? - Tesla will be somehow folder/merged or taken over by SpaceX in an all stock deal - Tesla market cap is $1.6 Trillion so that will be a tough one to take on as SpaceX is about equal in size. ---- If this happens, when ? Mini Retirement - Is this a THING? - A mini retirement is when you take a planned break from working, usually for a few months to a couple of years, instead of waiting until age 65+ to fully retire. - Tim Feerris popularized this... Eso tiene una consecuencia directa sobre el precio del petróleo, que sigue cerca de los 100 dólares justo antes de que empiece la temporada veraniega. La cuestión de fondo aquí es hasta dónde llega el poder real de Trump sobre Netanyahu. Sus tácticas intimidatorias funcionaron con Israel en el plan de Gaza de octubre del año pasado, pero fallaron con los europeos en Groenlandia y lo están haciendo también con los iraníes. Con Israel la palanca parece efectiva porque Trump es hoy más popular allí que el propio Netanyahu, que tiene unas elecciones muy complicadas en octubre. El acuerdo en discusión contempla un memorando que levantaría los bloqueos cruzados en Ormuz, prorrogaría el alto el fuego y abriría un plazo de 60 días para la parte nuclear y las sanciones. Para Israel resulta un mal negocio, pues el régimen iraní seguirá en pie y seguramente más cohesionado, la disuasión israelí queda tocada e Irán conserva el arma de cerrar el estrecho. Netanyahu, que tanto influyó en el inicio de la guerra, apenas pintará nada en su final. Tampoco ha conseguido extinguir el incendio en el Líbano. Hezbolá no se quiere desarmar y el Gobierno libanés nada puede hacer para forzarlo. Dentro de Israel, la derecha y la izquierda coinciden en lamentar la dependencia de EEUU. Si, después de ganar la guerra, terminan perdiendo la paz Trump seguramente cargue el muerto a Netanyahu, que podría cerrar el año fuera del poder. Not so fast J6ers. A Judge is blocking payments from Trump's new $1.776B "Anti‑Weaponization Fund" while courts consider challenges to the settlement that created it.  Trump is posting angry rants on social media against U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema who ordered a temporary freeze on any transfers, claims processing or disbursements from the fund after a lawsuit by former Jan. 6 prosecutor Andrew Floyd and other plaintiffs argued the program unlawfully favors political allies and lacks oversight. The fund was created as part of a deal tied to President Trump dropping lawsuits against the IRS and related civil claims; that settlement has prompted separate judicial inquiries into whether the court was misled. ⬥EPISODE NOTES⬥ Almost nothing got said on the stages at Global Citizen NOW 2026 without a number behind it. $47 million toward a $100 million education fund. 27 organizations funded. 1,500 jobs from a single restoration effort. 18 million lives reached in one campaign. The headline was the money. The tell was quieter — a pilot to verify, record, and monitor every donated dollar with AI and blockchain, from the moment it is given to the point it makes impact on the ground. Strip away the wattage — Adam Lambert and Ayra Starr opening, Hugh Jackman working the room, heads of state beside Fortune 500 CEOs — and Global Citizen NOW 2026 was a working argument about what technology is for when the objective is a social outcome rather than a shareholder return. In a sector whose standing pitch has been "trust us, the money helps," building the infrastructure to prove where every dollar goes inverts the pitch. The claim now comes with a receipt. This is the Proof of Impact pattern, and it is worth pulling apart clearly.

Los colombianos acudieron este domingo a las urnas en una jornada electoral que ha desbaratado todos los pronósticos y ha dejado al país al borde de un giro a la derecha. Con los resultados del recuento preliminar Abelardo de la Espriella e Iván Cepeda disputarán la segunda vuelta el próximo 21 de junio, y lo harán en un clima enrarecido por la negativa del oficialismo a reconocer este primer resultado. La gran sorpresa la ha protagonizado Abelardo de la Espriella. El abogado y empresario al que todos conocen como el Tigre se ha impuesto con un 43,7% y más de diez millones de votos, una cifra histórica que supera incluso la que sacó Petro hace cuatro años. El resultado tiene mérito porque De la Espriella es un outsider que jamás ha ocupado un cargo público ni se había presentado antes a unas elecciones. En las últimas semanas supo capitalizar el rechazo al petrismo y aglutinó a la oposición, al uribismo clásico y a los desencantados. Iván Cepeda, candidato del Pacto Histórico y delfín de Gustavo Petro, partía como favorito y ha quedado segundo con un 40,9% y cerca de 9,7 millones de votos. La diferencia entre ambos ronda los 700.000 sufragios. Cepeda se impuso en Bogotá y en buena parte de la periferia, pero se quedó muy lejos del 50% que necesitaba para evitar la segunda vuelta. Esto es algo que ya descontaban los sondeos de intención de voto, pero aún quedaban muchos que vaticinaban un triunfo holgado de la izquierda. A la vista está que se han equivocado de medio a medio. La tercera en discordia, Paloma Valencia, naufragó. La senadora de centro-derecha no llegó ni al 7% pese al apoyo explícito del expresidente Álvaro Uribe, un porcentaje que confirma el agotamiento del uribismo tradicional frente a la nueva derecha que encarna el Tigre. Valencia reconoció la derrota de inmediato y pidió a sus votantes que apoyen a De la Espriella en la segunda vuelta. Uribe hizo lo propio sin demora. Sergio Fajardo, abanderado del centro, volvió a estrellarse contra la realidad de un país que hoy por hoy no conoce el término medio. Colombia se debate entre el petrismo y el antipetrismo, no hay casi nada más allá de eso. La participación fue histórica. Casi 24 millones de colombianos votaron, un 57,8% del censo, la cifra más alta en 20 años y cuatro puntos por encima de las elecciones de 2022. Ese dato desmiente a quienes auguraban abstención y desencanto, y revela hasta qué punto estas elecciones se están viviendo como un plebiscito sobre el legado de Petro. El final de la jornada trajo un episodio inédito. El presidente saliente reaccionó a la derrota de su candidato negándose a reconocer el recuento preliminar de la Registraduría Nacional del Estado Civil, un órgano que él no controla y al que no compete revisar. Cepeda secundó la maniobra y pidió esperar al recuento definitivo, que se conocerá a finales de esta semana. El gesto ha encendido todas las alarmas y promete envenenar aún más una segunda vuelta que ya se anticipaba tensa. Quedan tres semanas, los votos de Fajardo siguen huérfanos y Colombia vuelve a hacer equilibrios en la cuerda floja sin saber aún quién será su próximo presidente.
