Often when we think of cinema, the first places that come to mind are New York or Los Angeles. But did you know that hundreds of films and television shows are set in cities around the Pacific Northwest? From popular series like Twin Peaks to blockbuster book adaptations like Twilight, culture writer David Schmader's new book Filmlandia!: A Movie Lovers Guide to the Films and Television of Seattle, Portland, and the Great Northwest highlights more than 200 film and television entertainments created and centered in our region. Extensively researched and curated by Schmader, Filmlandia! explores the oft-overlooked film culture of The Pacific Northwest. The author shows a culture that is thriving and robust, one that is finally given space to be celebrated in a guide that aims to be visually arresting and compelling – much like the films themselves. Classics like Sleepless in Seattle are discussed, but so are little-known documentaries, including multiple about Nirvana legend Kurt Cobain. Schmader put in a lot of screen time and research for this release, resulting result is over 200 TV and film entries that feature synopses (with healthy doses of levity and insight), behind-the-scene facts and trivia, and regional scenic highlights. Sidebars showcase the television shows that shaped the public's perception of the region (such as Twin Peaks, Shrill, and Portlandia), filmmakers like Gus Van Sant and Lynn Shelton, queer cinema, silent films, and more. This is a talk for any cinephile or anyone with a curiosity about a lesser-known aspect of Pacific Northwest culture! David Schmader is a writer and performer devoted to exploring his obsessions, from homophobic rock stars and pray-away-the-gay Christians to trash cinema and legalized drugs. His solo plays have been performed in theaters across the US. From 1998–2015, Schmader was staff writer and editor for Seattle's Pulitzer-winning newsweekly The Stranger, where he wrote the issue-opening column “Last Days: The Week in Review.” He is the world's foremost authority on the glorious terribleness of the movie Showgirls, hosting annotated screenings of Paul Verhoeven's notorious stripper drama at cinemas all over North America and providing the commentary track for the Showgirls DVD. He is the author of Filmlandia: A Movie Lover's Guide to the Films and Television of Seattle, Portland, and The Great Northwest and Weed: The User's Guide, published by Sasquatch Books. Kathy Fennessy is a Seattle Film Critics Society board member, an approved critic for Rotten Tomatoes, and a regular contributor to Rock and Roll Globe, Seattle Film Blog, and Video Librarian. She has also written or spoken about film for Amazon, KEXP's Sound and Vision, KUOW's All Things Considered, Minneapolis's City Pages, the Northwest Film Forum, the Seattle International Film Festival, and The Stranger. She was born in Connecticut, raised in Alaska, and works in development at Cascade Public Media/KCTS 9. She is a Whitman College graduate and has lived in the Pacific Northwest for 35 years. Guest Kate Lebo discusses her newest book, The Book of Difficult Fruit: Arguments for the Tart, Tender, and Unruly with Recipes (Farrar, Straus, and Giroux, 2021). While Lebo has authored more traditional cookbooks with stories, this collection of essays with recipes has more in common with creative nonfiction, autobiography, or a quirky reference book for plant identification. Lebo offers a unique blending of the academic – historical and botanical – with the narrative – personal and often painful. The book is organized in 26 chapters, one for each letter of the alphabet, represented by one fruit. Though the essays do have the encapsulated feel of being whole on their own, there are some narrative threads and mysteries that have to be worked out as you get further into the book. Unlike a traditional cookbook that emphasizes pleasure and ease, Lebo’s essays touch on quite a bit of personal pain – illness, death of loved ones, family secrets, heartache and break ups, abortion – and provide recipes that are unapologetically complicated with difficult to find ingredients. Still, readers who enjoy foraging, gardening, and good personal essays will find much to love in this collection. One of the threads that runs through the book is the slipperiness of food as poison and medicine. Starting right at the beginning with aronia and bitter almonds/cherry pits, Lebo meditates on the role that food can play in healing the body and the spirit while also being keenly aware of the way that even the most wholesome of whole fruits can carry poison. In a chapter about juniper, Lebo meditates on the berry as an ingredient in gin and as an abortifacient. The Wheat chapter describes the end of a relationship and the way that baking with flour can be healing for one person and maybe poison to her partner with celiac disease. The Book of Difficult Fruit explodes an elementary understanding of food as something that always nourishes or always brings people together. While chapters like Kiwi, Yuzu, and Zucchini return to those heartwarming moments where feeding and food seem to be metaphors for relationships of care and nurturing, even these moments do not come without complications. Kate Lebo is author the chapbook Seven Prayers to Cathy McMorris Rodgers (Entre Rios Books) and editor of the anthology Pie & Whiskey: Writers Under the Influence of Butter and Booze (Sasquatch Books), which she edited with Samuel Ligon. Kate is also the author of Pie School: Lessons in Fruit, Flour & Butter (Sasquatch Books) and the poetry/ephemera/recipe collection A Commonplace Book of Pie (Chin Music Press). Through the Arts Heritage Apprenticeship Program from the Washington Center for Cultural Traditions, she is an apprenticed cheesemaker to Lora Lea Misterly of Quillisascut Farm. Carrie Helms Tippen is Assistant Professor of English at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA, where she teaches courses in American Literature. Her 2018 book, Inventing Authenticity: How Cookbook Writers Redefine Southern Identity (University of Arkansas Press), examines the rhetorical strategies that writers use to prove the authenticity of their recipes in the narrative headnotes of contemporary cookbooks. Her academic work has been published in Gastronomica, Food and Foodways, American Studies, Southern Quarterly, and Food, Culture, and Society. Learn more about your ad choices. Recipe: Seared Tofu with Baby Bok Choy We used to have a dish on the menu at my family’s restaurant that included paired triangles of flash-fried tofu with vegetables and slices of barbecued pork. For this interpretation, I didn’t want to fry the tofu, but I still wanted to give it another layer of flavor. The tofu is marinated, coated with a dusting of starch, and then seared. While I use baby bok choy in this recipe, you can opt for your choice of greens, such as gai lan, yu choy, spinach, or Chinese cabbage. MAKES 4 SERVINGS About 7 ounces medium or firm tofu (half a standard block), cut into ½-inch-thick slices, then each square cut in half diagonally to create triangles2 tablespoons soy sauce, divided⅓ cup cornstarch, for dredging2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon vegetable oil3 cups sliced baby bok choy, about ½ inch thick½ cup brown beech mushrooms or enoki mushrooms2 cloves garlic, finely chopped½ cup water¼ teaspoon sesame oil Place the tofu in a shallow dish and drizzle 1 tablespoon of the soy sauce over the pieces. Carefully turn the tofu a few times to coat with the soy sauce. Put the cornstarch in another shallow dish or plate. Dredge the tofu with the cornstarch, making sure the tofu pieces are evenly coated. In a medium skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of the vegetable oil over medium-low heat for about 1 minute. Place the tofu in the skillet, placing as many as will fit in the pan without overcrowding. Sear 1 to 2 minutes on each side, or until richly browned. Place the tofu on a clean plate. Repeat with any remaining tofu. Set aside. Preheat a wok over high heat until wisps of smoke rise from the surface. Add the remaining 1 teaspoon vegetable oil and heat until it starts to shimmer. Add the bok choy and stir for 30 seconds. Add the mushrooms and garlic. Stir for a few seconds to combine. Add the water and stir to combine. Add the tofu and the remaining 1 tablespoon soy sauce, stirring carefully to combine. Reduce the heat to medium low and let simmer for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the sauce is slightly thickened. Finish with sesame oil. ©2021 by Hsiao-Ching Chou. Excerpted from Vegetarian Chinese Soul Food by permission of Sasquatch Books.

Finally we welcome Aaron Anderson the franchise owner of four The Original Hot Dog Factory The Original Hot Dog Factory Philadelphia restaurants in the Philadelphia area. “Forty-one percent of black-owned businesses nationwide were forced to close during this horrific Covid-19 pandemic compared to seventeen percent of white-owned businesses. According to a recent study by experts, most of those impacted are black-owned bars and restaurants ̶ that's about 440,000 companies ̶ but I will do all I can to make sure I can not only thrive during this time but will motivate others to do the same,” said Aaron Anderson. Anderson credits some of his success these past few months to catering to first responders and essential workers, and making sure all of his employees and take-out customers are in a safe environment to prevent the spread of Covid-19, with social distancing, face masks and the installation of self-service kiosks. Born and raised in the tough inner city of Philadelphia, PA, Anderson credits his mother, a single parent of five, with his unyielding strength, discipline, humility, passion and persistent need to be of service to those in need. Anderson's foray into being a business owner ̶ the very first in his family ̶ started with the launch of his very own screen-printing company in 2009, Union Printing that established itself as a leader in the industry and is still hugely successful more than a decade later. Aaron Anderson's keen interest in technology prompted him to become an investor in the pharmaceutical application QwikScript, and flight simulator application Flype. These strategic investments contribute to his growing financial portfolio and further strengthens his parent company Axxeum LLC, which was formed in 2018. In line with his desire to give back to the community, he became a member of Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia and Pyramid Club. His future plans include having ownership in a professional sports organization and to become an elected official in his home state of Pennsylvania. An inspirational memoir about his life is also in the works to provide invaluable information and encouragement to others who desire to follow in his footsteps. You say you STILL NEED MORE!!! On this episode, Margo speaks with Illustrator and Fine Artist, Kate Endle. Kate has been illustrating professionally for over twenty five years, but art has been her main focus since her toddler years. In 1995 she moved to Seattle to pursue her art career and her early illustration work, rendered in a painterly graphic style, can be found in beginning reader books for children, editorial work for travel and education magazines and advertising materials. In 2001 she began to collect decorative papers which set her on a major art style shift that included collaging hand painted and decorative papers to a stretched canvas. With this new style, she began illustrating picture books and licensing her images to home decor and paper products.  Kate and Margo discuss:  Kate’s path to professional artistry starting at a young age Why patience is truly a virtue and can pay off in the long run Possibilities that can come from working with an agent (good & bad) The power of community  Reasons to not put all your eggs in one basket in the art industry Why sometimes it’s necessary to allow yourself breaks Feeling uninspired (we all go through it!) Episode 57: For food critic Nancy Leson, deadlines got in the way of a good time

Check It Out!

Chapter 1: Meet the writer who’s not fond of writing  Nancy Leson loves books, she loves libraries, she loves to talk and she loves food.  That makes the Edmonds resident an ideal guest for Sno-Isle Libraries Check It Out! podcast.  Libraries figured large in Leson’s childhood in Philadelphia. Her family had little disposable income, so off to the library they went to borrow books and glean information from encyclopedias. These days, Leson says, the Friends of the Edmonds Library book sale is her favorite book event every year.  Books and learning followed Leson into adulthood.   She’d always wanted to own a set of Encyclopedia Brittanica, so she filled out a postcard to get more information.  It was a particularly cold winter night in Anchorage, Alaska, when Leson heard a fateful knock on her apartment door.    She opened the door and exclaimed, “Are you the encyclopedia salesman?”  The man was flustered. “The guy looks and me and asks, ‘How did you know that?’”  In his many years of sales calls, no one had ever asked if he was the encyclopedia salesman, he explained.  “Damned if that night did I not buy, a poor nursing student in my 20s in Anchorage, Alaska, a set of Encyclopedia Brittanica, a gorgeous leather set, that this man came into my house and did nothing more than sell me a set of encyclopedias. I was a very brave young woman.”  Leson still has those encyclopedias, and she mourned the day when Encyclopedia Brittanica announced it would stop printing them.  “Now ask me when the last time I opened them was,” she said.  Funny thing about Leson. Much as she loves words, she hates writing.   She wanted to be a children’s librarian, then a writer, then tried nursing school, but ended up waiting tables. She finally got into writing courtesy of the University of Washington’s journalism program. But to earn her degree, she had to create “clips” by writing stories for local newspapers, and had to write about state government in Olympia. She resisted.  “I had no interest in that at all,” she said. “I knew I wanted to be a features writer.”  Leson finished her journalism degree, but was broke. She went back to waiting tables at an Italian restaurant (now called Nell’s) on Green Lake.   “I knew every single one of the editors and publishers in town because they all used to eat in there, even Frank Blethen, my eventual boss,” Leson said. “I said, ‘One day, I’m gonna work for you.’ And I wasn’t lying.”  Leson was still waiting tables a year later when she saw an ad in the back of the Seattle Weekly. They sought an unpaid intern in the food department. She applied.  “I lied a little,” she said. “I said, ‘My mother always wanted me to be a doctor. Maybe now at least I can tell her I’m an intern. Hire me, I’m your girl!’ And they did. That was the first and last (writing) job I looked for.”  She wrote a “gossip column-ish" called “As the Tables Turn” about her views of the Seattle restaurant scene, much of it based on her own waitressing experience. She earned $5 an hour.  Sno-Isle Libraries podcast co-host Paul Pitkin wanted to know how Leson managed to write so much when she hates writing.  “Writing is painful. I mean, I loved reporting. I loved going out. I loved interviewing people and finding out things. But I was the person who would sit down and write and could not do what they call – and you’ll excuse me – the ‘vomit draft,’ where you just throw it on out there and then you fix it later,” she said.   “Until I got the lead on any story, I was writing, I couldn’t go on. And I fussed with it and fussed with it until I got it right. So it took me a long time to write. And as a result of that, I like to think that much of my work did not need much editing. And I was told that all along. It was good for my editors, but not so good for me.”  Leson went on to edit the “Best Places” series for Sasquatch Books and was restaurant critic for the Seattle Weekly. That led to an offer from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer as a freelance restaurant reviewer for a few months before the Seattle Times gave her a call: “Hey, could you come talk to us?”   It was her dream job, but daily deadlines got in the way of a good time.  “It’s real fun to write something if you have all the time in the world,” Leson said. “I always liken journalism and deadline writing to when you’re in high school or college and you have a paper due and you’re writing the paper, or you have a final and you're studying and studying. And then you write the paper and you get done, or you finish the final, and you're like, ‘Oh, oh, yay, thank god that’s over.’ And then you wake up the next day and – augh! – I’ve gotta do it again.”  Leson made a connection at KPLU-FM, the National Public Radio affiliate that’s now known as KNKX. The station wanted her to write and produce a weekly, 3-minute essay about fun, cool things.   She was at the “worst time” of her mother-work life, so she offered a compromise.  “I could do it once a month for six months,” Leson said. “And they agreed.”  Then the station paired Leson up with one of their on-air hosts, Dick Stein.   “It was initially a show about him interviewing me,” Leson said. “But it became the show it is today, which is the two of us having an absolutely fabulous time talking about the thing we love to do most, which is cooking.”  They call it Food for Thought. Leson and Stein have been chewing the fat since 2006 about food, cooking utensils, cookbooks, secret ingredients, restaurants, likes and dislikes, you name it.  Now Food for Thought generally sticks to cooking and food themes. To get a sense of how Leson and Stein work together, listen to them recollect their earliest food memories from childhood.  You’ll learn why Leson felt compelled to eat a stick of butter. Her revelation inspired Check It Out! podcast co-hosts Paul Pitkin, Justine Easley, Kurt Batdorf and Julie Thompson to share some of their childhood food memories. Some are more horrifying than others, but you’ll have to listen to find out.  Chapter 2: Get acquainted with Sarri Gilman’s Self-Help Shelf  We live in trying times and licensed mental health therapist Sarri Gilman wants to help.  That’s even more important now that coronavirus precautions make face-to-face interactions with family and friends difficult at best.  In this episode of the Check It Out! podcast, Gilman debuts her Self-Help Shelf segment. She is also posting self-help book recommendations on the Sno-Isle Libraries blog, BiblioFiles.  “I want to call out the books that are literally as good as therapy,” Gilman said. “Books that really help. Books that really make a difference. And some of these (titles) you aren’t even going to find in the library in the self-help section, because some of these are for children and they’re going to be in the children’s section.”  All of the titles Gilman recommends are available in digital formats at sno-isle.org.   Gilman recommends titles that she believes will help children navigate through emotions, help adults navigate through feelings and difficult challenges, help couples, and help families and caregivers.  “I think there’s a wide range of books to pick from, but I’d like to call out the best, the things that help the most.”  Adult self-help books are all about learning, Gilman said. For children, she looks for writing that encourages emotional literacy.  “There are books out there that can help us through every stage of life, through every age, through every feeling, every experience. They’re all out there,” Gilman said. “I’ll call out books that make a difference. Which of these books can help you now.”  Gilman's recommended title for adults this week is “Self-Compassion: Stop Beating Yourself Up and Leave Insecurity Behind“ by Kristin Neff. It will help you soothe yourself when you’re hurting, and bolster your morale when you’re feeling down.  For children ages 9-11, Gilman recommends “The Nest” by Kenneth Oppel. The 12-year-old main character, Steve, worries about his young brother’s health problems. Through Steve, Oppel shows it’s possible to be both brave, afraid and faithful. It’s a great book for parents to read with their children, Gilman said.

Paulette Perhach, Author, Host of Can We Talk About Money podcast Why bother saving money because you’ll either just spend it or give it away. Kathleen and Paulette discuss this myth and the psychology behind saving money and roadblocks to being financially healthy. Key Take-Aways: Understand your money history. Understanding your money history is crucial to understanding your mindset about money, savings, spending, and investing. It is the first step toward changing an unhealthy financial habit. Be compassionate to yourself. Knowing who you are and how you relate to money can help you deal with feelings about wealth and ambivalence about taking financial responsibility. Compassion is key in removing money shame and being more at peace with your finances. Find accountability partners. Tweet LIVE this Sunday, July 29th at 635pm Small Bites with Glenn Gross and Derek Timm of Bluejeanfood.com on Wildfire Radio, joining us in studio will be one of our favorite guests Vernon Rochester. Vernon is the owner of Rochester's Barbecue & Grill in Borough of Lawnside, New Jersey. They are doing a relaunch of their menu that we can't wait to see and try what's new. They are a BYOB with Wednesday Nights – All You Can Eat BBQ, and also locals love their Friday and Saturday Night Jazz sessions from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm featuring Michael J Corman, an amazing Keyboardist/Vocalist. They focus on soul food, barbecue, and southern cooking, but with locally sourced products as much as possible with a focus on dietary diversity. They do traditionally prepared items on the menu such as their amazing Ollie's Triple beans, made with ground beef, sausage and bacon and simmered with “secret spices” all the way to a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes to choose from. You heard right, they also focus on vegetarian and vegan dishes. Since Rochester's is a BYOB, we thought we better to join us in studio and talk about what you can bring there to drink than Tom Hendricks the NJ Brand Manager for River Horse Brewing Co.. River Horse brewing was started in 1996 by three brothers who really enjoyed homebrewing. Their original location was in Lambertville, New Jersey right across the bridge from New Hope PA. People often still associate them with that location because many people would walk around New Hope, or bike/run the river trail, and then swing by afterword for a beer. Then in 2007 the brothers were looking to sell the business and it was perfect timing for Chris Walsh and Glenn Bernabeo to take over. Chris and Glen were working in finance, but wanted to get out of the corporate world and start with a new opportunity. They jumped at the chance to own the brewery and took it over in 2007. One of the first things they did was hiring their head brewer, Chris Rakow, to handle making the beer and come up with new recipes. The first original recipe that Rakow made for the company was Hipp-O-Lantern Imperial Pumpkin Ale, which is still one of their most popular seasonal beers. By 2013 they had out grown the brewery in Lambertville and needed to move so they could expand brewing. Their Lambertville brewery was only 10,000 sq feet and two stories, which is not very conducive for brewing beer. In Ewing, New Jersey they found a single level, 25,000 sq ft space that used the same water table as their Lambertville brewery, which is a very important factor in keeping the beer consistent. They are now able to distribute their beers through all of New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, Eastern New York and all of Connecticut. Then we are thrilled to welcome Becky Selengut the author of two recent books, “How to Taste: The Curious Cook's Handbook to Seasoning and Balance, from Umami to Acid and Beyond--with Recipes” and “Good Fish: 100 Sustainable Seafood Recipes from the Pacific Coast” both published by Sasquatch Books. When she's not squid jigging, fishing, or cavorting through the woods picking wild things for her next meal, Becky Selengut is a private chef, author, humorist, and cooking teacher. A regular instructor for PCC Community Markets and The Pantry, Selengut is also a private chef and author of two other books How to Taste and Shroom: Mind-Bendingly Good Recipes for Cultivated and Wild Mushrooms, and co-author of Not One Shrine: Two Food Writers Devour Tokyo. In her spare time she co-hosts a comedy podcast called Look Inside This Book Club where she reviews only the free Look Inside samples of outrageous romance novels. Selengut lives Seattle - Capitol Hill with her wife and their two dogs. Talking about cookbooks and podcasts our next guest is an expert on both subjects. When New Yorker Suzy Chase Osborne a former radio personality and cookbook publicist isn't shooting Instagram stories of her beloved West Village neighborhood, sipping wine at a cozy New York, New York wine bar with her husband, whipping up after-school brownies for her 11-year-old son, shopping at a local grocery for dinner ingredients, assembling her latest Spotify Kitchen Mixtape or DJ'ing in Brooklyn, New York she's behind the microphone chatting with chefs and cookbook authors. Many believed the internet would spell the end of the cookbook. But true foodies at heart always knew that nothing could break that special bond between tried and true recipe manuals and their love of the kitchen. Hence, the podcast is bringing to life what was once on a page of a cookbook like Suzy Chase's Cookery by the Book. The 3rd season started in June. Suzy has merged the tried and true love of cooking with a modern flair to help the cookbook transcend new generations, and it's working. Chase's Cookery by the Book, now in its third season with more than 90 episodes, is the only cookbook podcast that has featured iconic names like Jacques Pépin, Dorie Greenspan, Pati Jinich, Pierre Thiam and Julia Turshen. It also marks Chase's second venture into podcasting. A female podcasting pioneer, Chase introduced in 2003 TheGrooveRadio.com, the internet's longest-running soul music show. She had a monthly residency at Trophy Bar in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn for six years, currently gigs around the city, and podcasts from her West Village apartment where she lives with her husband and pre-teen son. To top it all off we are so happy to hear from Blaine Heinonen and Sarah Anne Wolff of the band Pretty Gritty with their song “Love Don't Live Here Anymore” that we will play for all of our listeners off their latest album - Seven Year Itch – by CD Baby, C and D Network Publishing, Cannon/Buono Production, and Creative and Dreams Music Network,LLC. We Dropped A Bomb On You: A City and Its Stories: Los Angeles: The Best of Slake I-IV (Rare Bird Books) Cofounded by former LA Weekly editor Joe Donnelly and current Los Angeles Times Arts and Entertainment editorLaurie Ochoa, Slake is a literary journal that sets a new template for the next generation of print publications -- collectible, not disposable; destined for the bedside table instead of the recycling bin. It's a whole new way of looking at Los Angeles and the world. We Dropped a Bomb on You is a devastating compendium of essays, fiction, and photo essays from the first four issues of Slake. Featuring previously unpublished work by Aimee Bender, Mark Z. Danielewski, Dana Goodyear, Jerry Stahl, John Albert, Jonathan Gold, Lauren Weedman and many many more, this collection marks a return to storytelling with polished essay, memoir, fiction, poetry, and profile writing that is disappearing in a world of instant takes and unfiltered opinion. John Albert cofounded the semilegendary cross-dressing band Christian Death and also enjoyed a stint as the drummer in Bad Religion. He lives in Los Angeles and has contributed to LA Weekly, Hustler, and BlackBook, among others. He won the Best of the West Journalism Best Sports Writing Award in 2000, for the LA Weekly article from which Wrecking Crew derived.  Jonathan Gold is a food critic who currently writes for the Los Angeles Times and has previously written for LA Weekly and Gourmet. In 2007 he became the first food critic to win the Pulitzer Prize. He is also a regular on KCRW's Good Food radio program. Lauren Weedman made her television debut on Comedy Central's Emmy Award-winning THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART as a featured Correspondent.  It was at that same time that Lauren was a regular on NPR's national, political satire show, REWIND and appeared in her solo show, HOMECOMING, Off-Broadway at the Westside Theatre. The New York Times said of Lauren and HOMECOMING, “Like Bob Newhart in his early stand-up routines, she's particularly good at making her points – and making us feel clever.  Most important, she's just plain funny, physically and verbally.” Lauren has contributed short stories to Slake magazine, Swivel and her short story “Diary of a Journal reader” was included in Dave Eggars “Best of Non Required Reading 2007”.  Sasquatch Books released her first book, a collection of comedic essays, A WOMAN TRAPPED IN A WOMAN'S BODY (TALES FROM A LIFE OF CRINGE) which the Kirkus Review identified as one of the Top Ten Indy Books of 2007. Lauren currently lives and performs in Los Angeles.
