Looks Unfamiliar is a podcast in which writer and occasional broadcaster Tim Worthington talks to a guest about some of the things that they remember that nobody else ever seems to.This is a collection of highlights from Looks Unfamiliar featuring Joanne Sheppard on Fax, Mitch Benn on The Deceivers, Mark Thompson on Your Party Needs You, Donna Rees on The Monty Python Matching Tie And Handkerchief, Georgy Jamieson on Go For Broke!, Steve Berry on MB Games' Hangman, Tim Worthington on Outa-Space!, Ben Baker on Roland's Yuletide Binge and Mic Wright on Solitary Fitness. Along the way we'll be declining to eat some fifty year old corned beef, finding out what would happen if you described Mark And Lard to your grandparents, debating the the importance of elongated faces in topical satire, pouring scorn on Nigel Farage's prowess as a long-haulage lorry driver, estimating how many copies of MB Games' Voice Of The Mummy were piled up at Neverland Ranch and leafing through The Official Steve Nallon Annual 1985. Plus there's also Tim on the radio talking about Michael Palin's Around The World In 80 Days as well as talking about ALF's Marvel Comics appearances on ALFSplaining and the Beatles cartoon on The Big Beatles Sort Out, and a bit of a chat with Grace Dent about a certain saggy old cloth cat...You can find more editions of Looks Unfamiliar at timworthington.org.If you enjoy Looks Unfamiliar, you can help to support the show by buying us a coffee here. Each week, we dive into the new Golden Age of Television, with a discussion of the latest shows and news. BONUS: Clark's rebuttal!Superman Review Superman was only actually beaten up once by ultraman a complete copy of Superman powers and all being completely controlled by lex Luther, and he only actually lost to him once in the very beginning. If you actually go to the movies just to see the hero beat the villain with no consequences and come out unscathed than your just a boring personRobots have been in the fortress of solitude since the 60s taking care of Superman if ever needed and they literally say in the beginning of the movie that ultraman was the first person to ever beat Superman in his 3 years of being a heroKrypto the superdog has been in the comics since DC comics adventure comics issue #210 which was released march 1955Krypto has been in 7 feature films, 9+ TV shows, and several cameos/shortsThe only other person to put Superman in a bit of trouble was an army of flying soldiers who got him close to being eaten by a black hole just by pretty much going limp and dragging him down, this was only because he was in a different dimension where the sun didn't exist and if anyone actually knows Superman knows that he gets his power from the sun so that means no sun, no Superman Lex Luther has always been crazy and he's also the one who pretty much started the war just because he wanted to have a reason to kill Superman, do you really want lex to be boring and just try to kill him? He is supposed to be one of the smartest men alive, I would be disappointed he didn't have a multi layered schemeThe only thing Mr terrific and Lois actually do is show Superman where the exit is the only actual physical combat Mr terrific did was punch a bunch of goons outside the portal Lois and the others in the space ship didn't actually do a single thing to help in the moment they literally just watched the fight while writing an article about lex being a bad guy Superman's “hero friends” didn't really help him that much like green lantern and hawkgirl helped stop the war in the Middle East while Superman was dealing with the world cracking open in metropolis The dog literally just ate a bunch of cameras that lex was using to pretty much control the evil Superman that's all he actually didHow was Lois a bigger hero she literally just wrote a paper about lex which jimmy olsen actually wrote more of honestly, so if he wants to say that Lois was a bigger hero than you can pretty much

✨ This episode is available to our paid subscribers, who receive bonus content every month. As much as we love this show - really, truly LOVE this show - there are a couple of episodes that bring us down. Sometimes we skip right over them, or fast forward.Today's first episode in a new series called Episodes We Skip is A Vineyard Valentine in season 6. It sounds promising - a weekend away with Lorelai and Luke, Rory and Logan. But the weirdness is palpable: Luke is still dealing (awkwardly) with the April situation, and Logan has something he's hiding. Meanwhile, Rory surprises us left and right. We discuss some of the character holes and inconsistencies: why doesn't Luke know anything about Martha's Vineyard? Why hasn't he tried lobster before? Rory seems like a different person - going to the gym, cooking with ease - what gives? And what does this say about her relationship with Lorelai?Plus, Luke continues to be a “grumpypuss,” the ultimate crankster. Will he ever snap out of it?But don't worry, we'll try to find the redeeming moments of the episode, too: the sweet moments, the funny ones, and the moments that give us hope.  ☕ Show the world that you're a Gilmore superfan with sweatshirts, tees, tote bags and more from our Merch Shop!
