It is a privilege to welcome actor, filmmaker, and producer Michael Nardelli to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.   Michael made his professional acting debut as Stradivarius Helberg on the TV show Quintuplets. He then co-starred in the independent film The Derby Stallion opposite Zac Efron and the comedy Grassroots with Jason Biggs. Soon after, Michael portrayed a lovesick teenager in the 3-D horror film The Collective. He also had recurring roles on TV series such as American Crime Story: The People versus OJ Simpson, Hart of Dixie, My Name is Earl, Nashville, and Revenge.  When Michael is not on television, he is behind the camera. As an independent film producer, Michael produced the Sundance Film Festival Award-winning Another Happy Day, which starred Demi Moore, Ezra Miller, and Kate Bosworth and the Tribeca Film Festival selected The Giant Mechanical Man, which starred Jenna Fischer, Topher Grace, Malin Akerman, and Bob Odenkirk.   Michael Nardelli became a household name when he produced and starred as Eric in the 2015 Netflix science fiction horror film CIRCLE. Co-starring Julie Benz and Carter Jenkins, the film is a bizarre mashup of 12 Angry Men and The Twilight Zone, where a room full of 50 strangers realize they control who will be the ultimate survivor. The high-stakes setup of the game within the film led to a heated cross-section discourse of the human conditions and all the hot-button issues dominating the early twenty-first century headlines. CIRCLE was screened at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con and Savannah Film Festival, and the 2015 Seattle International Film Festival highlighted the film as a part of its Catalyst program, highlighting exciting new filmmakers.  In 2019, Michael produced and starred in Amazon Prime Video's Dark/Web. The series focused on a genius programmer's mysterious disappearance, which led to the reunion of old friends. The discovery of strange stories she left behind may indicate an impending technological crisis. The series earned three Emmy Award nominations.  On this episode of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Michael Nardelli spoke about the upcoming sequel of CIRCLE and being Emmy-nominated for Dark/Web.Let's connect on social media! With the recent death of O.J. Simpson and this month's 30th anniversary of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, the writer and content strategist Karen Geier returns for a look at the other great O.J. tv epic of 2016, Ryan Murphy's 10 part series American Crime Story: The People v. O. J. Simpson: On part one of our discussion we discuss the cottage industry of content that surrounded the Simpson trial, and how Murphy rose to the occasion in this series by approaching this story as history, tragedy and camp, infusing soap opera theatrics into the retelling of a true life televised trial that in turn led to the replacement of soap operas with reality television, and how the Kardashian family, through their involvement in the trial, directly benefited from this cultural sea change.  We discuss in detail a few of the fine performances from the ensemble cast, including from some unexpected turns: Connie Britton as Faye Resnick, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, Nathan Lane as F. Lee Bailey and Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J., and we dig into one of the best episodes, the one that centers on Marcia Clark and the one episode that deviates from the source material, Jeffrey Toobin's The Run of His Life, and dramatizes moments from Marcia Clark's 1997 memoir Without a Doubt, focusing on the intense sexism she faced while trying to prosecute this case.  Part two of this discussion, on more of the great performances and some of our favourite moments in the series, is available on the Patreon feed. Happy new year, boys and ghouls! Our first episode of 2024 (and the first after a bit of a hiatus) finally puts the spotlight back on Travolta after a string of Cage double-features and Johnny T failures. Blessedly, the television gods granted him the kind of role his 2010s VOD output could not: His mannered, theatrical turn as OJ Simpson lawyer Robert Shapiro in Ryan Murphy's anthology series American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson. Among a crowded field of stars (Cuba Gooding Jr. Nathan Lane, Courtney B. Vance, Sarah Paulson), Travolta stands out as OJ's calculating, reputation-focused lawyer, and we talk about how Travolta's idiosyncratic instincts finally worked in his favor. Plus, we talk about the cultural impact of the OJ trial, where we were, and how Murphy's melodrama was a perfect tone to strike for that crazy time in American pop culture.  Pledge to our Patreon at patreon.com/travoltacage Follow us on Twitter @travoltacage Email us questions at travoltacagepod@gmail.com Podcast theme by Jon Biegen Podcast logo by Felipe Sobreiro

Samira Ahmed is joined by Friends star David Schwimmer and comedy writer Nick Mohammed in a special preview of an episode coming out in the autumn as part of Season 4 of How I Found My Voice. David Schwimmer is one of the most recognisable faces on television. His iconic role as Ross Geller in all 236 episodes of Friends has made him TV royalty. Fans around the world still gleefully recount some of his most famous lines including ‘Pivot!', “Unagi” and ‘We were on a break!' Beyond the global cultural impact of Friends, Schwimmer is a seasoned stage actor and has gone on to direct the hit comedy Run Fatboy Run and gain critical acclaim as Robert Kardashian in American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson. For his latest project, Schwimmer crossed the pond to collaborate with the British writer, comedian and actor Nick Mohammed. Together they star in the workplace comedy sitcom Intelligence, created by Mohammed, which chronicles a disastrously humorous partnership between a pompous NSA agent (Schwimmer) and an inept GCHQ computer analyst (Mohammed). Season 2 of Intelligence will be available to watch on Sky One and Now TV from 8 June. Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/howifoundmyvoice. Narrowing down an actor’s artistic philosophy to one all-encompassing statement can be tricky, especially if that actor is the prolific, terrific Sarah Paulson. But if there’s a credo guiding her creative decisions throughout such a remarkable career, it’s this: “I only think about what is truthful.” (She also offers a second pro tip for working actors: use Backstage!) Simpson,” “Glass,” “Mrs. America,” and Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s “American Horror Story” anthology, in which she’s played upwards of 10 characters. Back in the game, Baby: Bada Binge ist zurück. Oder "On the Spectrum". O.J. Simpson".
