Amid escalating federal pressure on universities, Stanford Law School alum Greg Lukianoff, JD '00, joins host Professor Pam Karlan for a sharp look at the free speech firestorms engulfing universities like Harvard and Columbia. First Amendment champion, president of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), and co-author of The Coddling of the American Mind, Lukianoff recently penned an essay for The Atlantic titled “Trump's Attacks Threaten Much More Than Harvard.” In this episode, Lukianoff expands on his essay, breaking down the Trump administration's tactics to punish elite institutions, from defunding threats and faculty interference to student visa crackdowns, while also calling out universities themselves for stifling dissent and eroding public trust in higher education.Links:Greg Lukianoff  >>> FIRE pageThe Canceling of the American Mind >>> web pageThe Coddling of the American Mind >>> web page“Trump's Attacks Threaten Much More Than Harvard” >>> The Atlantic pageConnect:Episode Transcripts >>> Stanford Legal Podcast WebsiteStanford Legal Podcast >>> LinkedIn PageRich Ford >>>  Twitter/XPam Karlan >>> Stanford Law School PageStanford Law School >>> Twitter/XStanford Lawyer Magazine >>> Twitter/X(00:00:00) Introduction of Greg Lukianoff(00:05:01) Free Speech and Academic Freedom(00:10:01) Challenges to Free Speech(00:15:01) Legal Cases and Free Speech(00:20:01) Free Speech and the Government (00:30:01) Future of Free Speech

Tara and Lee push back on the mainstream media's relentless heatwave coverage, accusing it of fueling climate change hysteria while ignoring recent record-setting cold temperatures and unprecedented Arctic ice gains. With skepticism toward carbon panic and a belief in solar-driven weather cycles, they argue the media selectively reports extreme weather to promote a political agenda. The conversation shifts to the political, highlighting New York City's dramatic swing left as a self-proclaimed socialist and anarchist wins the Democratic mayoral primary. Tara warns this reflects a broader grassroots trend within the Democratic Party, embracing socialism, police defunding, and even sympathy for criminal elements. From climate narratives to cultural decay, the hosts paint a picture of a nation at an ideological crossroads.

In this fiery compilation from The Tara Show, Tara paints a vivid and alarming portrait of a nation in freefall. She exposes the Biden administration's complicity in the largest child trafficking crisis in U.S. history—over 300,000 migrant children lost due to halted DNA testing—and the government's willful blindness to cartel-driven border chaos. Shifting to urban America, Tara reports on shocking audio of LA Vice Mayor Cynthia Gonzalez urging violent gang resistance against ICE, calling it proof that Democrat leaders are now merging with street gangs to undermine national sovereignty. She argues that cities like Los Angeles and New York are no longer American in spirit—"post-American territories" governed by lawlessness, socialism, and rage. Tara also digs into new mental health data showing that liberals—especially women—self-report staggering rates of poor mental health, linking this to the rage-fueled politics of the modern Left. As New York City embraces a self-declared socialist and calls grow to defund police entirely, she warns that Marxist guerrilla strategies are being deployed in plain sight. From lost children to lost cities, Tara delivers a stark warning: America is not just at risk of decline—it's actively being dismantled from within.

Tara and Lee examine the culture of the WNBA, arguing that patriotism and traditional values are no longer welcome in professional women's basketball—or in leftist circles at large. Using the treatment of rising star Caitlin Clark as a case study, they claim she's been physically targeted and socially ostracized for refusing to conform politically. A moment on ESPN where a commentator praises America—only to quickly retract it—serves as a symbol of what they see as widespread disdain for the country among progressive elites. The segment expands to broader concerns about leftist influence in sports, the erasure of American symbols, and ideological conformity in liberal spaces.

Send us a textBe it resolved: America's founders established a secular government with provision for a religious people. When the delegates met in Philadelphia in the summer of 1787, they deliberately prevented the government from favoring any religion. Then when the Bill of Rights were added, freedom of religious expression was guaranteed. Those who wanted a Christian government at the time were upset at what they called the religious defect in the Constitution. They were honest enough to admit what today's Christian nationalists often cover up: The Constitution is not a Christian document and the nation was not founded on the basis of Christianity. The Christian myths surrounding the Constitutional Convention and Constitution came out later. At the time, most people recognized that the founding was secular. This is a bonus episode with regular segments to return in July. Music provided by Earl's Taco Shack. Welcome to Some Future Day. I'm Marc Beckman and today we're diving deep into the future of artificial intelligence with a visionary entrepreneur who's taking on one of AI's most pressing challenges: bias and racism. John Pasmore, founder and CEO of Latimer, recognized early on that unchecked biases embedded in AI could profoundly affect future generations. Inspired by the realization that his son and millions of others would interact with AI filled with implicit racial biases, John took decisive action to tackle these deep-rooted issues by providing training data that genuinely represents diverse perspectives. In today's conversation, we dive into why Latimer's unique approach - leveraging historical archives, textbooks, and dissertations from black and other overlooked cultures - is essential for an equitable digital future. Stay with us as we discuss the implications of biased AI, the ongoing fight for accurate representation in technology, and how each of us can help shape a fairer, more inclusive future, right here on Some Future Day.Episode Links:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jpasmoreInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jpasmore/Latimer: https://www.latimer.ai/Order Marc's new book, "Some Future Day: How AI Is Going to Change Everything"Sign up for the Some Future Day Newsletter here: https://marcbeckman.substack.com/To join the conversation, follow Marc Beckman here: YoutubeLinkedInTwitterInstagramTikTok

Two men behind the 'Levin invasion' say the night was a reaction to the government's tough talk. Meanwhile, the mother of a woman killed during illegal street racing has a simple plea for those involved in such activities: stop, now. Jimmy Ellingham reports.

What does "Joyful Non-Compliance" look like in today's world? In this thought-provoking episode, the hosts explore how faith intersects with politics, justice, and cultural challenges. Diving into Romans 12 and 13, they discuss the biblical posture of joyful, peaceful non-compliance, emphasizing the church's role in society as a force of love, justice, and truth. From the complexities of navigating immigration issues to the tension between idolatry and injustice in government, this conversation unpacks what it means to live out cruciformity—a life shaped by the cross—in a chaotic world. Key insights include the distinction between peacekeeping and peacemaking, the theological implications of governance, and how Christians can embody a faithful, socially engaged presence amidst cultural turmoil. With practical examples and a deep dive into the text, the hosts challenge listeners to embrace a countercultural, Jesus-centered response to injustice and idolatry. Join the discussion and share your thoughts! How can we, as individuals and communities, live out this call to justice and non-compliance with humility and hope? Feel free to email questions or engage with us on Facebook and Instagram—we encourage and value your perspectives as we pursue this journey together.
