Ask Me How I Know: Multifamily Investor Stories of Struggle to Success
High performance leadership often comes with decision fatigue, burnout, and role confusion. This episode invites high-capacity humans to stop over-functioning and learn how presence—not pressure—creates sustainable leadership from the inside out. There is a moment every high-capacity human knows well.A meeting where silence stretches. A request that feels heavier than it should. A decision point where urgency quietly takes over.In this episode of The Recalibration, Julie Holly revisits the exact moment leaders tend to lose themselves—not to fix it, override it, or perform growth—but to stay present inside it. Because embodiment doesn't happen when pressure disappears. It happens when you don't.Many leaders experience burnout, decision fatigue, and success that feels empty not because they're doing leadership wrong, but because identity has fused with responsibility. Over time, the nervous system learns that safety, belonging, and worth live on the other side of over-carrying.This episode gently guides listeners from doing into being—offering a grounded pathway out of role confusion, identity drift, and spiritual exhaustion. Julie explores how presence builds trust at the nervous-system level and why nothing meaningful is lost when leaders stop carrying everything internally.A subtle cultural mirror is offered through Keanu Reeves, whose calm authority and lack of urgency demonstrate leadership without self-erasure. His steadiness reflects what becomes possible when identity leads before action. This is not mindset work. This is not performance coaching.Identity-Level Recalibration (ILR) is the root-level recalibration that makes every other leadership tool effective—by restoring identity integrity, nervous system safety, and presence over performance. This episode is quiet, grounding, and settling. It's for leaders who are ready to stop abandoning themselves in familiar moments—and learn how to stay.Today's Micro RecalibrationBring one predictable leadership moment to mind—a meeting, conversation, or decision already on your calendar.Ask gently:What am I feeling in my body right now? What does this moment usually ask me to do?What would it be like to stay one breath longer?Choose one act of presence:Soften your jawLengthen your exhaleFeel the ground beneath youNo fixing. No forcing. Just staying.Explore Identity-Level Recalibration→ Join the next Friday Recalibration Live experience → Take your listening deeper! Ask Me How I Know: Multifamily Investor Stories of Struggle to Success
High performance leadership often creates decision fatigue and burnout in real time. In this episode, Julie Holly explores why leadership must change in the body before it changes in behavior — and how presence restores authority without urgency. For high-capacity humans, leadership rarely fails because of a lack of insight. It falters in the moment. You understand burnout recovery. You recognize over-functioning.You know something about identity misalignment and decision fatigue. And yet — in the meeting, the silence, the moment all eyes turn toward you — your body steps in before your values do.This episode names what's been missing from most leadership conversations: leadership changes in the nervous system before it changes in behavior. If your body doesn't feel safe letting go, you will keep carrying responsibility internally — even when you're supported, capable, and exhausted by the cost.Julie explores why this tension is especially present for leaders in career or life transition, where the old pressure-driven identity no longer fits, but the nervous system hasn't yet learned how to trust a new way of leading. You'll hear how over-functioning is not a character flaw or discipline issue — but a learned survival response tied to belonging, safety, and identity drift. This episode also highlights a powerful cultural mirror in Keanu Reeves, whose authority is marked not by urgency or dominance, but by steadiness, restraint, and identity integrity. His presence offers living proof that respect does not require intensity — it requires alignment. This is not about doing less. It's about leading from presence — in real time.Because nothing meaningful is lost when you stop carrying leadership in your nervous system — except what was never meant to be there.Today's Micro RecalibrationWhen guilt or urgency arises, pause and ask:What does my body believe will happen if I don't step in right now? What is actually true in this moment? Then offer your nervous system proof of safety:Drop your shoulders.Lengthen your exhale.Feel your feet.Leadership begins to change the moment your body trusts it can.Explore Identity-Level Recalibration→ Join the next Friday Recalibration Live experience → Take your listening deeper! They talk about Marvel coming in a big way to 2026 including comic accurate costumes for major characters, how the NY Jets did a very bad thing, and the cast laughs at the new iPhone sock. The crew also discusses shooting your shot for $1k, Phil Rivers returning to the Colts and how Kings and Queens of the past had tushie wipers. The crew chats about entertainment news, opinions and other cool stuff and things. Enjoy.Wherever you listen to podcasts & www.thegrindhouseradio.comhttps://linktr.ee/thegrindhouseradio
I liked a lot about Cyberpunk 2077--from the side missions to the combat to the visuals and plenty more-- but the character of Johnny Silverhand and the performance of Keanu Reeves was not one of them. This wouldn't have been a big problem if he wasn't such a crucial part of the main story, but he is and can't help but show up all of the time, so I couldn't help but only like Cyberpunk 2077 when I thought I was going to love it. Anyway and as always, thank you for watching or listening, I hope you enjoy this here episode, and I hope you have a wonderful wonderful rest of your day. (And if you haven't already, or are a listener and not a watcher, please like, subscribe, hit the bell, and all that jazz; it may not seem like much, but it goes a long way in helping support the show and site in general. I would appreciate it greatly.)

Denzember continues with Culture Kitsch host Bobbi Miller joining us to discuss Kenneth Branagh's 1993 Shakespeare adaptation Much Ado About Nothing. Following his successful Henry V adaptation, Branagh returned to Shakespeare for a much airier, light-hearted affair, fashioning the classic play into an immensely pleasurable studio romantic comedy while preserving the spirit and (more importantly) the language of Much Ado..., assembling a showstopper ensemble led by Branagh, Emma Thompson, Michael Keaton, Keanu Reeves, and Denzel as Don Pedro of Aragon, nearly 30 years before he would take on The Tragedy of Macbeth. We begin with a discussion of Branagh's formal tendencies, how his maximalism works for the genre, and illuminate his underremarked upon technical prowess. Then, we discuss what Branagh's Much Ado... preserves from Shakespeare's stage, what it omits, and how these ommissions speak to the film's position as an End of History artifact interested in reifying traditional family values centered around monogamous, heterosexual couplings. Finally, we discuss how Denzel's Don Pedro is utliized narratively and thematically in the film, and how Denzel's movie star persona and race factor into our perception of the character. Hollywood director Carl Erik Rinsch, known for helming the 2013 film "47 Ronin" starring Keanu Reeves, was convicted on December 11, 2025, of defrauding Netflix out of $11 million intended for his unfinished sci-fi series "Conquest" (originally titled "White Horse"), which revolved around a scientist creating rebellious artificial humans. Instead of using the funds for production, Rinsch transferred the money to personal accounts, lost over half on risky stock options, then profited from cryptocurrency investments, ultimately spending lavishly on five Rolls-Royces, a Ferrari, $650,000 in watches, $3.8 million in furniture and antiques—including ultra-expensive mattresses he claimed as "props"—and other personal expenses like credit card debt and legal fees. A Manhattan federal jury found him guilty on all seven counts of wire fraud, money laundering, and unlawful monetary transactions after a two-week trial, where his defense argued the money was his to spend freely and cited mental health issues from prescription drugs and COVID stress, though not pursuing an insanity plea. Rinsch, now described as indigent and unemployed, faces up to 90 years in prison, with sentencing yet to be scheduled. Tim Allen, Chief Growth Officer at MBE CPAs, shares how his lifelong passion for writing and motorsports has enriched both his personal and professional life. He reminisces about his early days getting in trouble for producing a black market student newspaper and how those writing skills, encouraged by his English teacher mom, have led to freelance opportunities with industry publications. Tim discusses his favorite experiences interviewing fascinating people in the automotive world, including celebrities like Keanu Reeves and Aaron Shelby. He believes his pursuits outside of work make him a better business developer and communicator, helping him craft better pitches and approach conversations from multiple angles. Tim emphasizes the value of bringing one's best self, including unique interests, into the workplace, noting how sharing these passions fosters stronger human connections. He encourages others to embrace their interests unapologetically, underlining that being comfortable with who you are paves the way for greater fulfillment at work and beyond. Episode Highlights · Tim highlights how his love for writing and motorsports not only enriches his personal life but also sharpens his skills and creativity in his corporate marketing and business development roles. · His experiences as a freelance writer, interviewing notable personalities and going behind the scenes at motorsports events underscore how following your interests can create unique and memorable opportunities. · Tim believes sharing personal interests (your "And") at work fosters genuine connections, makes you more relatable, and helps build stronger, more engaging relationships with colleagues and clients. · He encourages people not to hide who they are; being open about your hobbies or passions leads to a richer, more authentic professional (and personal) life, even if it takes time to become comfortable with that vulnerability. · Tim values spending time, like coffee catch-ups or casual chats, getting to know people beyond their job titles, emphasizing that these interactions are not only rewarding but also an essential (and too often overlooked) part of building community and culture in and out of work.

Join Alex and Celeste Pilegard as they discuss the first of two Keanu Reeves dystopian cyberpunk future films, Johnny Mnemonic (1995). The film was directed by Robert Longo and he quit filmmaking after this one. A film having to do with storing other people's memories in your head while others suffer from a debilitating disease caused by electronics, while set in 2021... you have to wonder if the author of the short story, William Gibson, was some sort of soothsayer! The pair discusses the interesting memory portrayals and their relation to scientists' current understanding of memory, as well as the recent introduction of generative AI and its effects of cognition. Nerve Attenuation Syndrome is still a bit far-fetched, though and reminds us all of class struggle rather than literal 5G causing COVID. Today, we're talking with Dave Lee, the creative engineer and co-creator of Cardboard Sessions, the viral series where paper becomes possibility. In each episode, top-tier artists step into the studio to create unrehearsed sonic magic using fully playable instruments made entirely out of cardboard.Dave on YouTube @cardboardsessions on Instagram From cardboard Stratocasters and Telecasters to full drum kits, Dave and his team turn imagination into reality, documenting the process in stunning behind-the-scenes videos that blend art, science, and pure creative courage. The Spark of Cardboard ChaosDave, where did this idea begin—what first made you look at cardboard and think, “let's make a snowboard, a guitar, or a pair of Vans out of this”? What was the creative leap from Cardboard Chaos to Cardboard Sessions?Engineering Meets ArtYou've built fully playable instruments out of cardboard—something that sounds impossible until people see and hear it. If you've ever looked at an everyday object and thought, ‘What if we made this out of cardboard?'—Dave's probably already done it. Your creative journey—from Cardboard Chaos experiments to collaborations with icons like Tony Hawk, Marcus King, and Keanu Reeves—proves that true innovation often starts with the simplest materials and the boldest questions. I was watching the Cardboard Session with Peter Yorn -- How do you and your team balance the technical precision of engineering with the spontaneity of creative experimentation? The Magic of Unrehearsed MusicEach Cardboard Session is unrehearsed, unfiltered, and full of creative risk. What do you think happens to artists when the normal studio structure disappears and they're just responding to the moment—with instruments made of paper?Collaboration and Creative FlowYou've brought in everyone from ZZ Top to Marcus King to Keanu Reeves. What have you learned about collaboration from these sessions—and how do you create an environment that invites trust, play, and genuine creativity? The Lesson for Creatives EverywhereYour work embodies the idea that creativity thrives on limits and curiosity. What's your advice for listeners who want to tap into that “build it anyway” mindset—especially when they're facing doubt or resistance? What's one takeaway you hope creators remember from your work—about staying inventive, curious, and hands-on in a digital world? Thanks to our sponsor, White Cloud Coffee—fueling creative conversations everywhere.
