Listen in as we break down: What that common advice about consistency gets wrong Three mindset shifts we can make about consistency My favorite consistency hacks that will help you follow through on what you want to do So join me - you can read, listen or watch! But if you want consistency, make what you are doing stupid simple.

In today's Book Club, we are discussing Rework by the founders of Basecamp, Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson. Basecamp is the stupidly simple yet powerfully productive software that helps teams get organised, communicate, and get stuff done. Rework was published a decade ago, but it is so progressive, forward-thinking, and revolutionary, it feels contemporary and extra poignant in today's working climate. Rework is almost like the anti-business book because of its strong opinions on some of the traditional stalwarts of the workplace and business strategy in general. It rejects the status quo and uses the authors' experience from creating Basecamp to prove that things can be done differently and still be successful. Joining us in the book club discussion is Amber Bonney, founder and managing director of the award-winning business, The Edison Agency. She is a branding and identity strategist, guest lecturer, speaker, and current president of the Creative Women's Circle, one of Australia's largest communities of women working in the creative industries, and a proud partner of the GrowGetters podcast.Head over to growgetters.io for full show notes!

Key Elements of a Conversion Generating Website Design Going to a website but not receiving anything that indicates what the website is for and about is very frustrating, isn't it? So, in order to have a good website, it should answer these fundamental questions:What is this website about? = A good website should indicate whether it was created to provide a service, a product, or simply a community for people to connect for a single purpose. Why should people care? = Instead of putting everything on your website just to make it look good, your website should have things that tell people why they should look at your website, how it differs from your competitor's websites, and why they should choose you over others. How does it work? = It is true that some people browse websites mindlessly. As a result, it's important to include guidelines that will assist visitors to your website and fully engage with it.About Ari KryzekAri Krzyzek is the co-founder and chief creative officer of the Chicago-based digital brand consultancy Chykalophia. Bio Kat Gordon Founder/CEO The 3% Movement Kat Gordon has been called the “triple threat” of an entrepreneur, ad woman + marketing to women expert and was named one of "30 Most Creative Women in Advertising" by BusinessInsider in 2016, "Visionary of the Year" from Advertising Age in 2018, and one of “Forty Over 40” women disrupting the world in 2014. She is the visionary behind The 3% Movement. Started as a passion project to spotlight a huge business opportunity in advertising -- the lack of female creative leadership and its impact on connecting with an overwhelmingly female marketplace -- the 3% Movement has grown exponentially since its 2012 launch: hosting events in 17 cities globally, and offering consulting and certification programs that amplify creative cultures. Today, female creative directors have gone from 3% to 29%. Kat serves on the Board of The Representation Project and as an advisor to 600 & Rising, WPP and Empower Work. She is passionate about elevating the contributions of women and people of color, especially as they relate to innovation. She currently serves as "Creative Entrepreneur in Residence" at Eleven, working to rethink the creative process, workflow and client engagement to build internal cultures and external messaging that embrace everyone.

In today's episode I'm on my own talking about some of my favourite books that I read over the summer holidays that have just passed here. There is a pretty big range in breadth of the books that I read, but the ones I talk about in today's episode are all ones with a focus on creative inspiration in one way or another. Some relate directly to art, some to interiors and women, some on the Eastern approaches to painting, and one is soulfully reflective. I've listed all of them in the show notes with links, so you can get a closer look if you like to know more. I really hope you enjoy my nerdy little deep dive into my favourite current books that are floating my creative boat. Books mentioned: Petal by Adriana Picker Spring Cannot be Cancelled by David Hockney in Normandy Choosing Love: Replenishing Our Hearts by Meredith Gaston Ken Done Art Design Life by Amber Creswell Bell and Ken Done A Room of Her Own: Inside the Homes and Lives of Creative Women by Robyn Lea Tao Te Ching by Laozi The Tao of Watercolor: A Revolutionary Approach to the Practice of Painting by Jeanne Carbonetti Susan Nethercote: Suse's Instagram Suse's Facebook Suse's education website Suse's art website Suse's jigsaw puzzles --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/susan-nethercote/message

So let's start there. In his early twenties, Andy cut his Sports Science degree short to become a Buddhist monk. For over 10 years, his meditation training took him across the world to Nepal, India, Burma, Thailand, Australia and Russia. Eventually, he was ordained at a Tibetan monastery in the Indian Himalayas. After completing his monastic commitment, Andy returned to the UK with the huge-yet-simple goal of teaching meditation and mindfulness to as many people as possible. To demystify the mystical, Andy set up a meditation consultancy and began working with politicians, athletes (that sports science background finally came in handy), and business leaders. That's when Andy met Rich Pierson, who needed help dealing with the stress of the advertising world. Before long, Andy and Rich were skill-swapping meditation for business advice. That's when Headspace was born.Bio:Caroline Pay is Chief Creative Officer at Headspace, where she directs the company's dynamic, award-winning creative team. She guides all creative activities and serves as a thought leader to ensure Headspace continues to grow its leadershipposition worldwide, including digital, experiential and traditional advertising, as well as all marketing campaigns and initiatives. In 2018, Pay was awarded one of Adweek's “Los Angeles Brand Stars.”Prior to joining Headspace, Pay was the Co-Chief Creative Officer at Grey London. She served on the senior management team of the 400-person advertising agency and was the creative lead on accounts including the LRS portfolio, the United Nations and London's Metropolitan Police. During her tenure, Pay was also named one of Ad Age's “Women to Watch Europe 2018” and was nominated as one of the “World's Most Creative Women” by The Drum. Before joining Grey, she was Deputy Executive Creative Director at BBH London, developing and leading a 120-person creative department with clients including Tesco, BBC and domestic violence nonprofit Refuge. She also helped shape the agency's new specialty practices, including BBH Live and Black Sheep Studios. In addition, Pay affected change in the advertising industry's diversity agenda with her key involvement in “The Great British Diversity Experiment,” “The 3% Conference,” “SheSays,” and “Cream,” among other platforms. Pay spent a total of four years at BBH, first as Creative Director, and later as Managing Partner and Head of Creative Development. During her time at BBH, where she first met Headspace CEO Rich Pierson, she also ran accounts for iconic brands such as Levi's, Baileys, and Google. After launching her career at KesselsKramer Amsterdam, Pay transitioned to ad agency Mother London, where she served a total of 10 years leading award-winning work for brands ranging from Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, and Boots to GREAT Britain, Amnesty International, and the creation of FRANK—the British government's drug helpline for young people, now in its 16th year. 70% of freelancers report working with diverse teams compared with only 59% of traditional employees. Open the workforce strategy and suddenly, achieving diversity and inclusion requires far fewer committees and initiatives, and our creative work starts to reflect the world we actually live in. In this episode of the Rosie Report podcast, Steph sits down with Kat Gordon, Founder and CEO of The 3% Movement and author of the forthcoming book “The Future Belongs to Belonging: How Inclusive Cultures Unlock World-Changing Creativity.” Kat founded The 3% Movement 9 years ago due to the fact that only 3% of Creative Directors were women and very few were people of color. Through the work and influence of The 3% Movement, Kat and her team are continuing to improve the ratio. Tune in as Kat and Steph cover everything from how change actually happens in our industry, to the radically inclusive future of work that just so happens to be the reason Steph started We Are Rosie as well as the theme of the upcoming virtual 3% Conference taking place at the end of this month! Did we mention Steph has the honor of speaking at the conference? You won't want to miss it. Kat Gordon has had over 20 years of marketing experience working with major brands and many of Silicon Valley's most exciting start-ups. She started her copywriting career at Cosmopolitan and then as the youngest copywriter ever at Sports Illustrated. In 2008, Kat made her first move in pursuing her passion for gender equality in the workplace by launching her own agency, Maternal Instinct, dedicated to the woman consumer. Often called a “triple threat” of an entrepreneur, advertising woman, and marketing to women expert, Kat was named Visionary of the Year by Advertising Age in 2018 and one of the 30 Most Creative Women in Advertising by Business Insider in 2016.
