Podcasting is gaining popularity. No doubt about that. The increased competition pushes podcasters to improve their craft and shows. Constantly looking for ways to gain more attention and listeners. That being said, not all podcasts are the same nor grow the same way. Specifically, B2B podcasts. But what can we learn from someone that started a high-end podcasting agency and has grown a podcast to over 2M downloads per episode? That's what we set out to discover in today's conversation with Ben Wilson, founder of Caspian Studios and host of How To Take Over The World. Here are some of this conversation's #GoldenBoulders:
The cult of the tech giants continues their systematic efforts to control what you think, say, or even share online. The recent spat with Spotify™and the “Joe Rogan Experience” Podcast is a classic example. Former free speech advocates like 1970s rock icon, Neil Young, is just one tiny example. The Podcasting World is full of Podcasts that the cancel culture and the cult of covid would love to silence and de-platform. Even the “Truth to Ponder” Podcast version may soon come with a warning label. Bob explains that and what needs to be done by people of faith and lovers of truth. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/bob-biermann/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bob-biermann/support

Are you in your 20s with dreams of launching and scaling a business? Are you worried about your chances of success? You're not alone. Most people will argue that you're too young and lack professional experience. Some will further highlight that you're not mature enough to handle the responsibility of owning and operating a business. That may be true, but don't let the naysayers dissuade you from becoming an entrepreneur. After all, the only way to achieve your goals is through trial and error. Just do what you have to do to get it done, no matter the odds. Remember, some of the most successful and notable entrepreneurs of today launched their business in the 20s, some in their teens. The likes of Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and Mark Cuban are people you should look up to. Of course, the path to successful entrepreneurship is not without its fair share of difficulty. People sometimes work years without earning a single penny or witness several of their businesses fail one after another. But they braved the storm, and today we're pleased to have one such entrepreneur. Trevor Oldham is a serial entrepreneur and the founder of Podcasting You, a podcast booking agency that helps real estate investors raise capital, generate more exposure, and increase their networking opportunities. We talk about the difficulties of running a business in your 20s, proper onboarding and training of new employees, and the money mindset. This is a special edition of Voices from SA. A virtual panel discussion arranged by Africa Podfest that I moderated entitled "Radio's Place in a Podcasting World. Africa Podfest was due to take place in Nairobi 12-13 March but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This inspired the organisers to organise a range of panel discussions including this one. "This session is about radio, which is where on demand audio came from. In light of the growing crossover between radio and podcasting, we envision a tipping point moment where there will be more interest and investment in podcasts than in radio. If podcasting is to fulfill its potential what are the practical considerations with regard to radio’s place in a growing African podcasting ecosystem which we need to address?" The panelists were: Kameel Stanley, the senior producer of The City, a podcast from USA TODAY that explores how power works in urban American. Kameel is based in St Louis, Missouri Shandukani Mulaudzi, Executive Producer of Podcasts, Children’s Radio Foundation Paula Rogo, Co-founder of Africa Podfest and owner of Kali Media. She hosts her own podcast on women and entrepreneurship in E. Welcome to season four of Podcast Movement Sessions! This time around we're focusing on PM19's Society, Culture, and Advocacy track and for our season premier we're taking a look more specifically at how creators have turned to the podcasting medium as a means of advocating for societal change. We'll speak with PM co-founders Jared Easley and Dan Franks about podcasting's low barrier of entry and how that has created a space for underrepresented voices to get their voices out about issues they care deeply for (2:40); we'll shine our PMS spotlight on a full circle moment from PM19 through a conversation with Ear Hustle co-creators Nigel Poor and Earlonne Woods--Ear Hustle could be the finest example of a podcast that grew into a force for change (8:04); finally, we'll hear from Leigh Pfeffer (host of History is Gay), the team behind Gay Future (Christina Friel and Connor Wright), Accused host/reporter Amber Hunt, and Tenderfoot TV's Christina Dana about how each of them consider themselves advocates through their respective podcasts (22:16). Lauren Ober is an award-winning journalist, podcast consultant and host of American Public Media's new podcast "Spectacular Failures" and previously host of NPR’s “The Big Listen.” She’s currently gearing up to host a new show for American Public Media (APM) expected to launch in May 2019. Before becoming a kick-ass podcaster and journalist, Lauren studied Justice and Public Affairs at American University in Washington, D.C. It wasn’t until after graduating or, more specifically, until after not doing so hot on the LSAT exanm, that Lauren realized instead of her initial hopes of studying law, what she really wanted to pursue was journalism. To get her foot in the door and quickly beef up her reporting chops, she attended the journalism Master’s program at Syracuse University. Lauren worked as a newspaper reporter until 2012, when she attended a storytelling workshop hosted by Transom, an innovative radio training group, that changed the course of her career. How to Finally Win and Live a Life of AbundanceJust because no one else has done it, does not mean it can't be done. John Lee Dumas was told time and time again he could not create and maintain a 7 day a week podcast. He was told there was not enough people to interview, he would not have time, it's too much content for listeners to consume and so on. JLD was determined to make it happen. It was not easy, but he has done it and he is now known as a Pioneer in the Podcasting World. Yet many others came before him. Today, JLD and I are talking about how You To can Finally Win. Meet our Feature GuestJohn Lee Dumas is the founder & host of Entrepreneurs On FIRE, an award winning Podcast (Best of iTunes) where he interviews inspiring Entrepreneurs 7-days a week! JLD started out as a commissioned Officers in the US Army where he served for 8 years. Once he separated he went to law school. I quickly realized that was not his thing. So he moved on to build a real estate career and got tired of the daily grind very quickly. He felt trapped in the so called rat race. Once he discovered podcasts he was able to get through the day much easier by listening to hours of podcasts while he was driving. Then the shows dried up. There were on 7 day a week shows for John Lee Dumas to listen to. As he wondered why that was, he decided he would create a 7 day a week show. After much discouragement from others, JLD decided to launch a 7 day a week podcast called Entrepreneurs On Fire. That was over 4 years ago. John could have taken the advice of some very well known podcasters and never started his 7 day a week podcast, Entrepreneur On Fire. He could have done as everyone else was doing and have a 2-3 day a week show. But that would have suited JLD. Had JLD not started EO Fire, he would have certainly not built the https://www.eofire.com/fpc (Free Podcast Cour)se and certainly not https://podcastersparadise.com/ (Podcasters Paradise) let alone al the other amazing courses and books he's launched in the last four years. Had none of that happened, you and I would not be here talking right now. Well, you would not be reading this and https://menofabundance.com/ (Men of Abundance) would have never been born. This episode of the Anywhere But Here Podcast is a rambling one, so strap yourselves in! The guys start off by discussing how long is too long to email someone back about a request to do with joining a podcast network, which leads to the fact that Ant and Tom are sometimes terrible at getting back to people. Including each other. Tom went on holiday and shares some stories about Holland and the Frisian Islands in particular, which also progresses to a long discussion about languages and how certain words or phases have evolved. Tom also played a gig with the covers band he joined recently. It was in the drummer's back garden where there was a makeshift bar which prompted a chat between the guys about home ownership and random projects around the house... which may be really boring. But, stay til the end because they cover Celebrity Big Brother because Tom's Uncle is in it. Also, if you've got any ideas about what we can do for the 200th episode (please) let us know(!) by contacting us on the links below. Enjoy! It was in the drummer's back garden where there was a makeshift bar which prompted a chat between the guys about home ownership and random projects around the house... which may be really boring. But, stay til the end because they cover Celebrity Big Brother because Tom's Uncle is in it. Todays guest entrepreneur joining us in the Join Up Dots archive 1 series of podcasts, is a man who is taking huge action, as he is one of the co-founders of the Podcast Movement.A huge conference bringing together the movers and shakers of the podcasting world. The legends behind the microphones. The names you see scattered across ITunes.Commencing on the 16th August in Dallas Texas, the size of this thing must have been a hell of an undertaking.Especially for someone who it seems to me has built up the bulk of his career in the work of Tax returns and balance sheets. But as he says "I am a lifetime serial entrepreneur, and have always been a self starter that takes the proverbial bull by the horns and to find ways in how to do the hard stuff."And this passion for the startup, has helped him develop great relationships with clients which allow them to focus in on the value side of the business and leave..lets face it the boring side of the business with our guest. That is a partnership made in heaven I would have thought. So how did he get together with Jared Easley his co-partner of the Podcast Movement?Does he actually find doing tax returns interesting? And even if he says he does I wont believe him!Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up the dots of his life with the one and only solopreneur or entrepreneur or just Mr Podcast?Who knows lets just call him Mr Dan FranksLinks:Cover imageClick to view: show page on Awesound

What do you think of the new Music? I was thinking that Jazz might be more my style. I have a kind of relaxed delivery, and a more relaxed theme song might work. Let me know. As with most things about podcasting, everything is changeable. From Last Week: I got a note from Paul Figgiani who was THE Senior Audio Engineer at IT Conversations. He was commenting about the audio loudness standards and knows a metric TON about this stuff. I'm hoping to convince him to come on the show and talk about it some more. It would also be fun to talk to him about the Podcasting World of 2004. He was there from the beginning (maybe even before the word “podcast”). ______________________________ Even the US Air Force uses the Wordpress 2014 theme! (see: http://airforcelive.dodlive.mil/) If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for podcasters. Along those lines: If your website is existing and you want to add podcasting. If you require a complicated wordpress theme or are on a different platform. Build a landing page. A separate wordpress install for your podcast in either a sub-domain or a sub page. This way you can use powerpress and all the other standard plugins for your podcast. _________________________ Scam Alert: Not podcast related, but, Maybe? My guest today is Mr. John Lee Dumas. John is an American entrepreneur who produces a daily podcast- That’s right- 7 days a week 365 days per year! His show is called Entrepreneur on Fire or EOFire and John interviews successful entrepreneurs from all walks of life!
