Starting from what was the collective trauma of the COVID-19 pandemic, Prakruti and Neha examine their personal experiences during that time and the underlying processes in our brains that encode trauma. They finish with reflections on how similar processes are used formally in therapy and informally by as all to create positivity in a neurological system seemingly wired for surviving threats more than finding joy. As always please send your feedback to droppingyourarmour@atrain.com Enjoy this episode!

I frequently teach that what we call as life is nothing but a series of Karmic experiences. As much as we like to think that we have full control over our lives, the harsh truth is we don't. Prakruti or the intelligence in Nature is constantly influencing our experience of life. So, the question is, how does Prakruti or Nature influence our lives, what is the medium through which Prakruti influences our lives - our karmic experiences? Let us explore the answer to this question in this session of YPRV. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Hi There, Today I have an episode where I unpack the Ayurvedic concepts of Prakruti and Vikruti. These are sanskrit words that are integral in the system of Ayurveda, the East Indian "Science of Life". First I wanted to emphasize that what we believe may be a fallacy, and that through leaning on ancient wisdom we can begin to decipher truth from falsity. This is important in our modern world where many opinions are flying around and it's hard to know what is real, and good advice. The best way to know is to check in with yourself, but we must be able to remove the obstacles that would prevent us from identifying that truth. Secondly, when you understand that we not only have a nature, but also are affected by our environment (and nurturance), this gives us agency to be the detective in our own life to find our optimal conditions for us to thrive and FEEL GOOD. I believe this is possible for each of us, we just must be open to trying things in order to find the right fit. I hope this episode is helpful. Find me at www.juliabernbaum.com for yoga, wellness, tarot and life coaching. Blessings on your path.

Your state of mind governs your experience of reality. Understanding the gunas offers insight into how we can move into a peaceful state of mind, and how the other 2 gunas help us function in life. There is no self judgement, just observation and conscious action. Sattva guna is one of balance, connectedness and bliss--a deep knowing and peaceful calm. Rajas guna is one of action, transformation, transmutation & alchemy; it allows for thought, planning, executing, digestion, and all movement and flow. Tamas is the state of inertia and stagnation, decay and death; this state is more depressed and hides true nature. We aim to cultivate a sattvic state :) Thank you to my supporters! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
