Personality disorders like psychopathy and borderline are far more treatable than the popular narrative suggests, and many people with psychopathic traits actively want to change, recognizing their behavior patterns aren't working for them.Most of the world's worst atrocities aren't committed by psychopaths — they're committed by groups of ordinary people who believe they're completely justified. The real danger isn't the remorseless loner; it's collective moral certainty that one side's aggression is righteous.Fear is the secret bridge between altruism and psychopathy. Psychopaths don't process fear — their own or others' — while extreme altruists are hypersensitive to it. Same brain structure, different tuning, and that gap determines who rushes toward danger and who shrugs.Our brains are survival machines, not accuracy machines — and negativity bias warps our view of humanity. Es geht um den rassistisch motivierten Anschlag in Hanau, den wir aus der Sicht zweier Familien erzählen. Mit der Hoffnung auf eine bessere Zukunft für ihren Sohn haben Vilis Eltern ihre Heimat Rumänien verlassen und sind nach Deutschland gezogen. Diese Chance will der 22-Jährige nutzen, später einmal Lebensmitteltechniker werden und eine große Familie gründen. Bis dahin liefert Vili Pakete aus, um so zumindest vorerst seine Eltern finanziell zu unterstützen. Auch an diesem Tag ist er wieder auf Liefertour als wie aus dem Nichts ein ohrenbetäubender Knall zu hören ist - und dann sieht Vili einen Mann mit einer Waffe direkt vor sich stehen. Etris und sein kleiner Bruder Nesar sind gerade in ihrer Stammkneipe, der Arena-Bar, als sie es von draußen vier Mal laut knallen hören. Die Brüder hatten sich an diesem Abend hier mit ihren Freunden verabredet, um gemütlich ein Fußballspiel zu schauen. Doch jetzt kommt Panik auf. Denn plötzlich tritt ein bewaffneter Mann in den Eingangsbereich. Er ist nicht zufällig hier - er hatte sich genau diese Bar ausgesucht, weil er wusste, wen er hier antreffen würde: sein Feindbild.
