Listen to 55 Future Now Lots happening in the AI universe this week, including Sun’s quite humorous report with examples of Google’s faux paus in the name of woke culture.  EMO by AliBaba is scary-good at taking any source image plus audio and making the image look like they are saying/singing the audio. This can bring to life any decent picture of a person, ressurecting dead friends and relatives, putting words in anyone’s mouth. EMO is not released yet, but should be out in time for fun shenanigans with the upcoming presidential election..We also discuss the law suit between Elon Musk and OpenAI, a big issue when it comes to the public being aware of what’s actually going on with the rise of AGI, Artifician General Intelligence.  Could that holy grail alread exist in the form of Q*, or perhaps even Sora, OpenAI’s formidable entery in the text to video arena? We discuss.   Some great space news this week, including sonification of several interesting areas of interest in space, and a very cool interactive 3D map of the solar system, including the planets, moons, asteroids, space probes, and many earth satellites, all in real time! In the medical world we are excited to report of a blood test that works for some forms of dementia, such as Altzheimers.  Bobby shares a use of biographical video recording that helped his mother, when she was suffering from dementia, and discusses Methylene Blue, a long time compound that seems to stimulate the brain’s neurons by increasing mitochondrial function.  Enjoy! NASA scanning The Cosmic Hand, supernova remants 1700 light years away.

Participam Daolio — SEU CHEATER DO CACETE! Jogos como The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D e Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater passaram por mudanças e melhorias notáveis em seus reboots e remakes.

Real time 3D is replacing mobile as the main environment for delivering transformative immersive experiences for retail brands. So believes Sara Oberst, Global Head of ATM and Retail Solutions at Unity Technologies.  Sara made these and other observations about how 3D is transforming retail during a fireside chat with Localogy Senior Analyst and This Week in Local Co-host Mike Boland.  Unity is a familiar name in the gaming industry. Its game engine is widely used by designers to create 3D experiences, particularly in mobile gaming.  Sara and Mike focus on how fast-evolving 3D technologies are helping retailers on a number of fronts.  These include cutting back on product returns, which cost retailers a staggering $550 billion last year, according to Sara. 3D is also helping retailers design store layouts more efficiently and eliminate the high cost of product photo shoots by using virtual photography.

Bestselling novelist Matthew Salesses joins co-hosts Whitney Terrell and V.V. Ganeshananthan to talk about the politics, history, and context driving different modes of teaching fiction writing. After sharing an excerpt from his new book Craft in the Real World, Salesses explains how the traditional creative writing workshop model fails marginalized writers, and why examining craft questions through a range of lenses should matter to both writers and readers. He also reads from his new novel Disappear Doppelgänger Disappear, which is a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award. 149: Fortnite, PUBG, And Deus Ex This week brings us a new guest, Derek, as Gary's flight ends up being delayed. And like the good hosts we are, we let him go first. Fortnite is on his mind and he let's us know what he thinks of the game compared to PUBG. After that, he's got Breath of the Wild. It's pretty much his first Zelda game. Very interesting. Following that is Stephen, and speaking of Zelda he's still going through Ocarina of Time 3D on the 3DS. It's not too bad of a remaster, but one I think he wants to see on the Switch. Lastly, Anthony, and he's got Deus Ex. One thing's for sure, Justin's Adam Jensen voice was spot on. We got a surprise mini Nintendo Direct, and we go through all the announces in it, but not before we talk about all the other news that happened in the week. 148: Fortnite, Turok Remastered, And Our Top 5 of 2017 First recorded episode in the New Year, and Gary hobbles back this week and we talk some games. Gary starts off with Little Nightmares. He finally beat the DLC. In fact, he was only 10 minutes from beating it the last time. He doesn't think it's as good as the game itself, but it's still pretty good. Though, the ending left him disappointed. Plus, water levels. Then it's Immortal Redneck time. It's taken over his life. It's got some of the best first-person shooting, but the RNG is the biggest downside. Brian's up next with Fortnite: Battle Royal. You only get a pick axe and is like Minecraft in a way. He loves the art style and it's free right now. It's a fort defense game. He's having a blast. Anthony steps into his time machine and played Turok: Remastered. A true classic. Also, before exiting his time machine he also played Knights of the Old Republic. To say the least, it's a good game. Last up is, Stephen. He's playing though Ocarina of Time 3D on the greatest color scheme ever released for a console. We can all agree on that. No Drunken News this week, but we go over our top 5 games of 2017.
