There's always plenty of talk about goals and outcomes when it comes to business, but there's one thing not mentioned… a lot of those “success” measurements are beyond our control. That's exactly why Vicky takes a completely different approach with her business and clients. It's one that embraces experimentation, mistakes, and sharing your unique value and gifts. Been waiting for permission to be YOU in your business? Here it is! Can't-Miss Moments From This Episode:PSA:  not meeting a goal doesn't make you a failure… especially if you were shooting for an outcome you can't control. I think you're gonna love Vicky's take on why “bestseller” status isn't the end-all-be-all for authors (it'll have you re-thinking how you define success). If you're not cutting people open or saving lives, why on earth are you waiting until you've achieved “expert status” to get out there and do the damn thing? Vicky's first book project is the perfect example of what's possible when you give yourself permission to learn as you go.  I didn't think this had to be said, but here we go… no one came out of the womb as an executive with decades of experience. YOU ARE NOT BOSS BABY. Vicky and I break down why there ain't no shame in starting off as an amateur.  Vicky's "birthday present" approach to creative work... this quick mindset trick will help you produce more (with much less worrying and agonizing over the outcome). Wanna guess how many times Vicky and I messed up big time? Listen in as we swap horror stories of past mistakes. SHOCKER: Our careers weren't ruined! Instead, we used those mistakes to keep moving forward in our businesses (and we'll show you how to do the same!)This one is jam-packed full of advice. Don't miss out - listen now!Vicky's Bio:Since 2012, Vicky Quinn Fraser has been helping people outside the mainstream write successful non-fiction books—not just on business, but on a wild, wonderful, and wacky range of topics.Working with misfits, rebels, misbehavers, disrupters, changemakers, and revolutionaries, she makes it possible for people to find, tell, and sell their stories. Each tale is interesting. Each one is valuable. Each one is unique, and each has its own distinct audience. If you're after a “bestseller in a weekend”-type book coach, move along. There are enough furnace-fodder non-fiction books in the world without adding to the pile, written to an uninspiring formula, and used as glorified business cards for people who want them to add a thin veneer of gravitas to their services. Not her thing.Vicky helps people write books that are truly life-changing, for themselves and for their readers. If there's a story inside you, bursting to get out, someone, somewhere, will be grateful you got it down on paper, and your confidence will grow exponentially as you realise just how valuable, and important, your voice really is.Resources and links mentioned:Vicky's siteVicky's InstagramVicky's LinkedInDavid SedarisPlease Don't Sit on My Bed In Your Outside Clothes by Phoebe RobinsonYou Are a Badass by Jen SinceroThe Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark MansonDresden Files by Jim ButcherThe Secret Lives of Black Women PodcastCome kick ass with me:Permission to Kick Ass websiteAngie's Facebook PageAngie on InstaAngie on YouTubeDownload this episode

Cindy shares her personal experience with grief related to life altering illnesses. She also talks about how unhelpful parenting techniques can cause further pain for children as they grow up. We want to resist things that are difficult, crushing, painful, and disappointing. Yet, we find that those very things are the best teachers that we can find to solidify ourselves and learn important lessons from. There is a skill called Coping Ahead that helps people walk through the unknowns of a situation. You lay out the details with all of the contingencies and possibilities. Work them through in your mind and mentalize that you could in fact deal with any of those outcomes. Then find something within yourself to rely on and also seek people out that can give you support. When you fragilize your child and protect them and try to smooth out all the bumps of life, you are denying them the ability to build the muscles needed to handle life. If you deny them of consequences and the opportunity to gain independence and confidence then everything in their life is going to be much harder.    RESOURCE LINKS   Cindy Finch Website   Cindy's Grief Tribe   Cindy's Journey: Cindy Finch on walking with God through illness    Cindy's Book: When Grief Is Good: Turning Your Greatest Loss into Your Biggest Lesson    https://oconnorpg.com/podcasts/growing-through-grief-learning-from-your-loss-with-cindy-finch/   BIO: Since completing her Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work and training at The Mayo Clinic, Cindy has gone on to develop specialties in parenting today's teens and young adults, post-trauma growth, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, complex family interventions, traumatic loss and grief work, and the management of a life-altering illness. From my first venture in the mid 70's the lessons have been endless from learning how manage a business from balancing budgets, to marketing, advertising and being a good leader and above all the significance of building and maintaining relationships. I've enjoyed 40 years of following my heart into many profitable business ventures such as construction, technology, sports promotion, real estate, app development, operating a retail store, to being an advisor and counselor to businesses and people. But In 2009 as the world around me collapsed I was called to write and since then he I have authored 3 books. These books are my passion, which is living, speaking and teaching the importance of relationships, loving who you are and what you do and how to find happiness, peace and success through integrity and transparency. While there are schools of thought that say a leader must assert dominance, I have always remained people-focused and heart-centered. Treating employees and clients like they were friends. This not only makes good business sense, but also makes me feel good, lets me get a peaceful nights rest and in the long run it's a 'win-win' for everyone. In a time where there is more technology and infrastructure to create a business of your dreams, I offer you the essential wisdom and people skills that transcend time. As a coach and advisor I am in your corner standing by your side throughout every stage of your business's development. I'm with you in managing relationships, providing leadership tools and dealing with every obstacle that may get in the way of your being successful. Building the First Gaming Studio in Central Africa with Madiba Olivier Hi everyone! Thanks for tuning-in today for a new episode of Entrepreneur Mindset-Reset, THE podcast where entrepreneurs just like you and me share how they master their mindset to overcome obstacles to their success Madiba Olivier joins us today. Madiba is a deep, thoughtful change-maker in Cameroon, and someone we will all be wise to follow and support. He is the founder of Kiro'o Games, the first video game studio in Central Africa.  Everything Madiba does is with great thought and deep connection to a larger purpose. Even the name of his company is connected to a Swahili word “kimono mono,” which means “spiritual vision,” and as you listen to our conversation, you'll hear how deeply connected Madiba is to his roots, to his community and to the African continent.   Madiba's story is inspirational for so many reasons. He has created something that not only didn't exist in his country, but didn't exist in the entire Central African region. Not only has he founded the video game studio, he was able to round up funding from over 100 investors to fund his startup and support his fellow Cameroonians in learning and growing while expanding their skill sets. You won't want to miss when he shares his best tips: Build the culture first When you succeed, the money will come (focus on your vision and stay focused on your vision) Beyond the money, when you stay focused on your vision, you will change the world.  Madiba's journey to entrepreneurship, the pivotal moment when he received an email from a young boy who looked up to him, and his decision to be a leader and an example for his fellow Africans, is so profound, and I believe your life will be enhanced by listening to Madiba share his journey. So, grab a beverage or a snack and settle-in to listen to Madiba and his amazing journey. Madiba's Bio: Since 13 years me and my team we worked hard against all the odds to open the first video game studio in our country: Kiro'o Games. For the previous 3 years our goal was to built trust in the international business sphere.  We succeeded to become one of the main reference in Africa for the gaming industry, even featured in the Wallstreet Journal Our actual goal is to create a 18.7 million users base in 12 African countries taping on the fast African growing smartphones market through games and apps but mainly a complete ecosystem for a unique user-experirence around our brand.  Our objective is to build a company ready for one of the biggest African IPO in 10-15 years with the most inspirational brand in Africa (and why not in the world). We will then have enough money (as people and company) to diverse more investment in other sectors in Africa.  Find Madiba: Website: https://kirooworld.com  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/madibaolivier/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/madibaOlivier  The scans of the Aurion comic book: https://www.mangadraft.com/reader/aurion-legacy-of-the-kori-odan.en/110168 To become a shareholder: https://shareholders.kiroogames.com/index.php/invest?locale=en

3 Takeaways:It’s not where you start, but where you finish. If you are someone that is brought into a company to do a job, don’t approach day 1 as if you’ve been there for years. It’s important to start any venture small and grow from there. You need to adapt to your surroundings. With everything that is on in the world with COVID, companies like AutoZone needed to change the way they attracted customers to go to their stores and that is part of what Jason and his team need to figure out on a daily basis. Having a plan is one of the most important things when it comes to working with a major company. It’s easy to say you can’t do something, but if you head into every job or every project with a plan and a template it will help you be able to handle whatever gets thrown your way.Key Quotes:“ In my case, it has been showing how much project work we can do versus how much support work we have to do. It's easy to drift into, “we can't do that now. We don't have the bandwidth, we can't do this because we don't have enough people to support it”, but we spend a lot of time designing and architecting and we have developed a series of, I call them recipes. You could call them templates, but it's reusable pieces of functionality that have become tried and tested, they're like building blocks.”“I always tell people that you need to find something in it that you can relate to. If you're a programmer if you're a data analyst or data scientist do something that you actually would want to use.”Bio:Since 2018 Jason has been the I.T. Bio: Since 1982, May McCarthy has helped to start and grow six successful companies as large as $100 million in annual revenues. She is a best-selling author, speaker, university lecturer and angel investor. She serves on business, philanthropic, arts and university boards. May has become successful by implementing spiritual principles into her ventures, and it is her passion to pass her knowledge on to others. She is the author of the best-selling book The Path to Wealth and her newest title, The Gratitude Formula: A 7-Step Success System to Create a Life That You Love Why over What: Using Purpose to Drive your Success A 2017 study from Northwestern finds that people who have a purpose in life benefit from a better night's sleep, and lots of previous research has confirmed that having a purpose outside yourself is good not only for your mental health, it's also good for your physical health, longevity and even your genes. In 2015, Ernst and Young sponsored the creation of a Harvard Business Review Analytics Services report titled “The Business Case for Purpose”. In that report, researchers determined that most successful companies have a purpose, a “why” they exist to do what they do, which is different from “what” they do as their day to day business. The Kellogg Company manufactures and sells food products, but they describe their purpose as “nourishing families so they can flourish and thrive.” If you were an employee, supplier, customer, or investor, wouldn't you feel good about “nourishing families so they can flourish and thrive”? Moses- trukket i lyden(Cujorius One remix) Minimal Criminal artist's Bio: Since 2007, Zhyin has been working on the material for the Minimal Criminal debut album, which will be called "Minimus Maleficarum". Sometime in 2009 this CD will be released by Cosmic Conspiracy records (New Zealand). Minimal Criminal make tracks in a variety of styles, borrowing elements from minimal techno/house, progressive trance and electro and incorporating them into the base Minimal Criminal sound. Most tracks have a dark vibe while some tracks display more light, though always deep and hypnotic. The bpms of the tunes also vary, ranging from 125 to 140. The Minimal Criminal story goes back to the year 2003 in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, when Zhyin and Echoes decided to create a project inspired by their favorite artists at the time such as Sensient, Krumelur, Cujorius One, etc. Their first release was in 2005 with the track, "Reefer and Barbeque" on the "Intelligent Manipulation" compilation CD from Zenon records(Australia), which was a collaboration with Swedish sonic weirdo act, Krumelur. Since then, they've had tracks released by labels such as Cosmic Conspiracy records, Halu Beats (Hungary), and Pure Perception records (U.S.A). 2009 will be a good year for Minimal Criminal for several reasons. Firstly, since the two members can operate the project simultaneously in two parts of the world, the Minimal Criminal sound can spread farther. Secondly, because more and more labels are interested in releasing their tunes, therefore there should be a good handful of releases that year. Eventhough Minimal Criminal has a more underground appeal due to their unconventional sound, there is more demand now more than ever for minimal and dark progressive music. Minimal styles from techno to trance are very popular now and Minimal Criminal fully embraces those sounds. Contact Details: www.minimal-criminal.com
