Right now, Travis and his team are dealing with COVID-19 and constantly on the real customer service side of things. As they're certain that giving services is key today. Relative to this, Travis believes that everything happens when you just listen to people. Just what he did a year ago, he pays attention to his customer who wanted to build a reputation. Now, he came up with a reputation software for clients. Hence, according to him, this isn't the time to get stuck on the corner, and wait for everything to return to normal. Rather this is the best time to start a business. The best time to lean in and get advantage of the opportunities. Moreover, people adopted the new norms of working from home during these quarantine times. People have more time connecting to families, and more time on themselves. So, grab this time to discover new things, and learning that technologies can do more than we realized. Now is the best time to engage with people, increase the engagement, likability, sales, and get more positive reviews on your brand/business. How? Simply, it is just by using your platform, social media, email list to talk to your customers, and advertise because these times are cheaper than ever! I’ve got a great guest on the podcast today here to help YOU make money. I’m talking with Billy Thorpe, a podcasting coach and founder of Copilot Studio. He’s here today to reveal some secrets about how he makes thousands of dollars off sponsors - even when his podcast audience is on the smaller side - and how you can, too! In this episode, Travis and Billy talk about: How Travis has typically been anti-sponsor in the past but thinks Billy’s perspective on and success with sponsors is very valuable. How it’s always worth asking around to potential sponsors - if you never ask, the answer can only be a “no.” Why more niche shows can have better luck finding sponsors. If you’re niche, you know your audience well and can tailor the perfect sponsor to that audience. How you need to approach a potential sponsor with a full media kit, a plan for your brand, and really be able to sell yourself and your community. Why you need to make your approach more about community-building together, rather than a plea to a random company for help with your bills. The traditional advertising CPM model (based on numbers) and how to subvert that. How and why to talk about your audience as people, not numbers. Why you need to be honest and have an integrity-based mindset when choosing which sponsors to approach: you want to match the sponsor’s products and service to what your audience truly wants and needs. How to start the conversation with a potential sponsor once you’ve identified who you want. Why podcasters have an advantage when seeking sponsors because we’re used to using our voices - it’s more personable to reach out to sponsors over the phone. Why you need to remind folks that their advertising will exist as long as your podcast exists, instead of expiring like a billboard. How Travis and Billy are co-hosting Clubhouse rooms on podcast monetization. Keep an eye out! Memorable Quotes “It was not out of desperation, but more out of collaboration that you’re reaching out to these companies.” “If you give people what they want the most, you’re going to get what you want out of life.” Links to Resources Billy Thorpe: Instagram | Youtube Subscribe to Billy’s Podcast and give him a 5-star review! Many companies are in the process of switching their networks over to the Cloud. Mike’s guest today is Travis Roberts, the Senior Networking Systems Administrator at RBA Consulting. Travis has a background of working in corporate IT for over 20 years, but he made a switch when he realized he wanted to focus less on management and more on consulting. He has lots of experience with Windows Virtual Desktop (and more) and creates content online to help others learn how to better utilize this technology.In this episode, we talk about…Travis’s background, how he got into consulting, and what the transition was like coming to that from corporate jobs.How Azure has been ramping up and is currently neck and neck with AWS.Why, at this point, most Systems Administrators are essentially Cloud Developers, as well.How you have to think a bit differently when using ARM templates and PowerShell.Why moving to the Cloud can save a business a lot of overhead expenses.The mindset shift involved in maintaining a server rack with manual switches and buttons, versus working within Azure.Why setting up a virtual network within Windows Virtual Desktop is so much faster than the traditional means.Why you need to continuously learn given the way technology is shifting now -and how if you learn it sooner, you can help others as they shift to the Cloud during the next decade.How building a brand can help you, and if you’re interested, you should start writing a blog or making Youtube videos.The importance of Source Control and how Travis has been using Github.The switch from using JSON to using HCL.How Travis has been seeing that he’s been needing to learn more about Continuous Integration.Resources from this episode:Travis on TwitterTravis onYouTubeTravis on LinkedInUdemy Course Discount: Zero to Hero with Windows Virtual Desktop

Target Market Insights: Multifamily Real Estate Marketing Tips
Viral marketing is the holy grail for most entrepreneurs and marketers. Most people think of a meme or a video that gets millions of views, but that’s not the right way to think about viral marketing. The hidden truth about viral marketing is it has to deliver core value in order to spread amongst the masses. According to Travis Steffen, viral marketing is the act of leveraging your own audience to pass your message on to others. Travis is a serial entrepreneur, growth lead, and author of the book Viral Hero. He has helped create hundreds of millions of dollars in value for various Silicon Valley startups. The reason most messages do not achieve this viral success is that most entrepreneurs and marketers start with an idea without verifying the details and purpose with intended users. When strategic flaws emerge, entrepreneurs are forced to pivot their business. A better approach is to engineer products in a way that turns customers into enthusiastic hosts that spread your message to anyone they come in touch with - just like a virus. And this virality can’t be circumvented with handwashing, masks, bleach, or experimental drugs. In this episode, Travis shared key insights on building a business from ideation to launch and beyond, the right way to conduct market research with customers, lessons learned from a failed business venture, and the right way to build viral products and messages. Do you feel like you’re putting more into your business than you’re getting back? Whether that’s finances, time, or energy, you’re not the only one. I've got an actual rocket scientist as my special guest on the podcast this week. Travis Albritton is an aerospace engineer who felt like he was wasting his life and wanted to create something bigger, more purposeful, and more impactful. Travis decided to start an online business and founded a program called the Digital Missionary Academy. He is also the host of the Practical Christian Podcast. I asked Travis to join me on the podcast today so he could share his journey as he’s built his business, because I think it’s one that many can relate to. Travis dreamed of leaving his day job job and creating an online business, but in the first year he had trouble selling his course, so he’s had to figure out how to overcome setbacks and get better and better. On today’s episode, you will learn how he overcame many obstacles, but most importantly, you will learn what kept him from giving up on his dream of creating a business so that he could have deeper purpose in his life. On Today’s Show You’ll Learn: The importance of choosing a life that is fulfilling to you How to get back up when things don’t go as planned Why it’s a mistake to think you’re smarter than Facebook The value of building an email list How to get in front of the right people How you can learn from every mistake Why Travis transitioned from a course to a membership How Travis overcame anxiety and panic attacks around webinars How Travis started to get some traction with his ads The importance of giving things enough time to succeed Why you have to be willing to not be profitable in order to learn how to become profitable Travis has learned so many hard but valuable lessons as he’s built his business, and it was a great experience to sit down and ask him all about his journey. If you’re someone who feels unfulfilled at your current 9 to 5 and dreams of a life with deeper purpose, make sure to tune in to this powerful episode. When most online course creators try to figure out what makes other course creators successful, they usually start by asking, “what are they doing?” If this sounds familiar (I know it does to me) I want you to know that you're asking the wrong question. The better question to ask is “what am I doing that they're not doing?” It can be hard to answer that question for yourself because you're too close to your own business, and that’s where I want to help. There is a brand new community of like-minded online course creators waiting for you inside the Optimized CEO Facebook group who are getting unstuck in their business. This is my brand new, totally free Facebook community. I am so excited about it, and you can join us right now. Go to www.rickmulready.com/group. We'll see you there. As I mentioned in the first episode, I am temporarily living in Kanab while waiting for the lockdown of COVID-19 to end. So far, I have gotten the chance to meet some wonderful people here and visit the attractions around and I totally fell in love with this little town that is one of the fastest-growing ones in the US.Kanab really differentiates itself from all the surrounding towns in Southern Utah. It’s a town that’s eclectic, it’s got an art gallery, it’s sophisticated, and it has incredible food. When I was looking for what has really defined this town, I found three people that I think have really been the leaders in the community and have helped define Kanab’s personality.In today’s episode, I’m talking to the first of these three people, Travis Mitchell – the founder and director of Canyons Collection, which is a collection of four different properties with four different moods: Canyons Boutique Hotel (Classic Elegance); Canyons Lodge (Rustic Chic); Quail Park Lodge (Retro Cool); The Flagstone, which is a boutique inn & suites.Listen to Episode 02 of Moving Beyond Acronyms, to find out how Kanab has evolved in the past years since Travis moved here, why you should come and visit this wonderful city and also, what Travis does to communicate his message and his vision regarding the four properties he’s managing.Some questions I ask:Tell us a little bit about yourself, and how did you get into the hotel business? Flourish to 7 Figures Podcast: Growing Your Online Business to 7 Figures and Beyond
In today’s episode, I’m sharing my interview with an entrepreneur who has built a 7-figure online business in just 3 years. It’s Travis Hornsby from Student Loan Planner! Travis is a speaker and the founder of Student Loan Planner, which he launched after helping his physician wife navigate ridiculously complex student loan repayment decisions. To date, Student Loan Planner has consulted on over $865 million in student debt. Travis is a Chartered Financial Analyst and brings his background as a former bond trader trading billions of dollars to help thousands of graduate degree professionals find the best repayment path for their staggering student debts. We recorded this interview as coronavirus quarantines and social distancing measures were becoming mandatory. As he shares in this episode, Travis has plenty of wisdom to help you navigate the upcoming months of economic uncertainty and prepare your business for the long-term as well. In this episode, you’ll learn: How Travis doubled his revenue each year since launching in 2017 Why he is skeptical of strategies that promise to “recession-proof” your business How the uncertainty created by the COVID-19 pandemic are impacting his business (and what he is doing to prepare) ...and more! What is Design for Good in the Classroom? As artist, visual arts educator and designer Travis Sevilla teaches it, it's a project-based curriculum that makes a difference. Travis shows Canyon Crest Academy students, grades nine through twelve, how to start with design thinking. Projects combine the STEAM disciplines--science, technology, engineering, art and math. Under Travis's guidance, his students use these skills to create a solution to a problem or a needed resource for a community. Past projects have included the Guanabara Bay Project, and Everybody's Mobility. For the Guanabara Bay Project, groups of students designed "superhero" characters to raise awareness of the problem of water pollution. Everybody's Mobility, according to Travis's teacher website, challenged the students to create branding for a family-owned local company which creates mobility devices for a wide range of clients. And at California STEAM Symposium 2019, Travis was showing fellow educators how to implement Design for Good in the Classroom in their arts curricula. His goal, he says, is to help more educators implement the program. We talked about Travis's work as both an educator and an artist, his favorite resources and some of the projects he and and his class have created. On this edition of Over Coffee®, you will hear: How Travis first discovered his passion for art; How he first became involved in teaching STEAM concepts in the course of his work as a visual-art teacher; Some of the design projects through which he has guided his students; One of the biggest challenges he and his class navigated--and one of his favorite triumphs; His advice to fellow educators, on implementing a Design for Good in the Classroom curriculum; Travis' recommendations for favorite resources for fellow educators; How to support teachers and schools offering Design for Good in the Classroom curricula; Where Travis would like to take his program next (and how fellow educators can find out more!); A new forthcoming resource for educators (and a program to note, in the future!) What Travis has been painting (and the story behind his unique series of paintings!) Some of his favorite sources for "recharging" his creativity; One of the best lessons Travis himself has learned (and shared with his students), over the past few years;
Sometimes a kid can be the best example of a dream chaser. This is certainly true of my guest today. His family epitomizes what it means to chase your dreams, as each one of them works hard to pursue their passions. I think you’ll find today’s interview refreshing and inspiring. Travis Wolfe, Jr. is a 13-year-old actor, hip hop and breakdancer, and host. After booking his very first audition for a 6ABC News promo, Travis knew he was destined to be an actor. Within five years, Travis landed the role of “Dele” in the CBS series Bob Hearts Abishola, and he’s been featured in shows like Grownish, The Neighborhood, and Laff Mob’s Laff Tracks. He also has a recurring role on Season 3 of Raven’s Home as “Lil Lo Lo.” Besides acting and dancing, Travis uses motivational speaking to encourage other young people to follow their dreams and pursue their passions. What it takes to succeed as an actor What do you think it takes to succeed as an actor? It’s not as easy as walking into your first audition and riding the easy train to sudden stardom. Travis says that most people don’t realize what a kid goes through in their journey to become a child actor. Putting a show together takes a lot of preparation and dedication from many people besides just the actors. Travis makes many sacrifices for his acting career, but he says it doesn’t feel like a job since he loves what he does. Besides his acting work on the Warner Brothers set, he has several hours of schoolwork to do every day. TWEET: Most people don’t realize what a kid goes through in their journey to become a child actor. @traviswolfejr #chasingdreams Learning from each experience Do you think most actors experience overnight success? Travis says that it rarely happens that way in the acting profession. He started off doing small parts in commercials and student films, and this path seems to be a normal rite of passage for most actors. Each role is another level to help you get the feel of what goes into the production process. Many actors have stories like Travis---of working hard to achieve their dreams. An interesting fact about Travis’ dreams is that he’d love to be a stand-up comedian someday. TWEET: Each role is another level to help you get the feel of what goes into the production process. @traviswolfejr #chasingdreams What Travis enjoys the most about acting What do you think is the best thing about acting? You might think it’s the paycheck, but that’s not what Travis says. What he loves most is the opportunity to interact with other people and form relationships with them. Actors don’t just arrive on the set and act in their scenes. Travis explains that he spends time connecting with other actors to make the relationships seem real. He loves to find friends and mentors in his set family at each project. As far as future writing or directing, Travis follows the advice given to him by Mario Van Peebles, who told him to learn to be his own boss. This means learning to write, direct, and produce so that he can work for himself and have more control over his career. TWEET: Learn to be your own boss. @traviswolfejr #chasingdreams Guest Recommendation: ONE action for a dream chaser to take--”Keep going. Wouldn’t it be great if your company had a 3-day weekend every week instead of the usual 2? Who doesn’t love long weekends? Imagine if your company did implement a 4-day workweek, weekends will be longer, and breaks would be shorter, which won’t intervene with the normal business operations. Sounds great, right? The traditional workweek for Americans is five days a week and eight hours per day. When your organization opts for the 4-day workweek, that would be 10 hours per day and equates to 40 hours a week, which is the same as the standard hours an employee is required to render every week. In this episode, we’re going to talk about all the pros and cons of having a 4-day workweek system with Chamber Media founder and Media Hacker, Travis Chambers! He was featured under Forbes 30 under 30, and he will share his story on how he left the corporate world to start Chamber Media. Travis will also share how he came up with their unique culture and benefits, how he is handling deadlines in a 4-day working schedule, and how what he’s doing right now allowed him to travel more compared to when he was still hustling in his corporate days. In this episode, you will learn about: How Travis left his corporate job to start Chamber Media How Travis built the philosophy around the 4-day workweek What Chamber Media employees think about the 4-day workweek The benefits of working four days a week The impacts of having four days work week to the business’ operation Handling deadlines The pros and cons of the 4-day work week Connect with Travis LinkedIn Twitter Instagram Chamber Media What did you think of this short bonus episode? ProspectiveDoctor | Helping you achieve your medical school dreams | AMCAS | MCAT
Travis Hornsby is our guest in this episode, the founder of Student Loan Planner. He is a former bond trader with Vanguard who has transitioned into a student loan advisor. He provides a great understanding of how to tackle financial issues as they relate to med school. [1:05] How Travis got involved in this. Travis wanted to work in the financial industry and got a job trading bonds. His girlfriend said that she had six figures in medical school loans, which caused him to dive deeper into the complexity of loans. Travis then discovered public service loan forgiveness (PSLF), which can substantially help med school graduates. [6:54] Planning correctly. There are nuances to student loans. Travis says that if the proper time isn’t taken to plan, these can be extremely costly. [10:22] Average debt for a med school graduate. The number that Travis sees is about $315,000. You could go to a school that is increasingly offering scholarships, but those are few and far between. Often, students choose specialties that pay more just so they can pay off their debt quicker. This is not quite acceptable reasoning for choosing a specialty. [16:49] Why physicians are better off than people with an MBA or law degree. Nobody needs an MBA to be a businessperson, so there is no barrier to entry. In law, there are not enough jobs. Additionally, there are rules in place that keep medicine a well-paying field. [22:49] Looking beyond tuition numbers to make a decision. If you want to be a private practice physician, prestige doesn’t matter. The patient doesn’t care where you went to school, they care that you’re a doctor. PSLF can help you repay debt regardless of which school you choose. However, it is possible that PSLF may not be offered by the time you graduate. [28:22] Options for if PSLF is no longer offered. Refinancing is a good option that can greatly reduce your interest rate. Travis discourages taking out private loans, but it some rare cases, it does make sense. [31:06] Other financial advice for med school students. Invest in taking care of your own physical and mental health. Those things will always be worth it. Do not stress about the amount you borrow; Travis has never had a physician client who has not been making less than two-to-three times the median household income in America.
In today’s episode, we are joined by one of our former guests, Travis Ketchum who is known for creating Contest Domination and is now running his most recent program, Campaign Refinery. After getting frustrated with the lack of proper services to test deliverability options, Travis decided to create one himself. You are in for a treat as Travis talks about the amazing split testing that his tool can do on multiple levels, which not only saves you time but the annoyance of having to switch on the front end from one carrier to another, as it’s done on the backend of his software. We also dive into the key things everyone should be doing to make sure their list has the highest quality threshold and the best chances for high open rates. Plus to set yourself apart, we talk about some other cool ways to get your readers excited about hearing from you such as gamifying your list. Lastly, we get into some real talk about a subject we continue to discuss which is anxiety, depression, and becoming stuck in comparison mode and how to combat those things to keep you on track. After you are finished, be sure to listen to our previous episode with Travis as he discusses how to build a list with contests and giveaways along with our episode with Wilco de Kreij on how to build your list exponentially. “If your compass was one-tenth of one degree off it’s not a big deal for the first mile, but you do that path forever and you end up in a wildly different spot.” - Travis Ketchum Some Topics We Discussed Include: How to clean up your list for maximum deliverability results Why you want to split test everything on the backend How to add gamification to your email list-building model The different levels of split testing How to keep things in perspective when things go wrong How Travis’ new podcast is a platform about the frustrations with running a subscription business The evergreen flash sale Tips and dealing with anxiety and comparisons with other entrepreneurs when using social media Best practices for when someone hits the offer page after it’s over And much, much more! I’m always inspired by people who are the best at what they do. The ones who break the limits of what has been done before. The ones who are willing to do what it takes to achieve greatness in the thing they are passionate about. Today’s guest fits all of the above qualities and more. I had an incredible time meeting and connecting with the legendary extreme action sports champion Travis Pastrana. If you’ve watched the X Games, Motocross, or Rally Car Racing, you already know who I’m talking about. But in case you haven’t, he has won medals in all of these sports. Travis is one of the founding members of the stunt show Nitro Circus, which is a mindblowing action sports show that has been touring the country for years. He has been the first to pull off many of the craziest stunts and now focuses on exploring new ones to teach to the upcoming generation of stunt performers. All of this is very cool (just check out the video of his top 10 stunts below). But what is even cooler about Travis is how grounded he is in his work. His passion for it. His family. He has gone through enough pain and loss to turn most people off of this sport. But it only fuels him to keep going. And that is passion I admire. I can’t wait for you to be inspired by his wisdom and perspective on living the life he loves in Episode 368 with Travis Pastrana. Some Questions I Ask:How do you navigate your career after losing a close friend to this sport? (14:58)Was there ever a stunt where you thought you weren’t going to make it? (17:17)How do you get past fear to get into flow? (42:25)What drives you today? (48:48)In This Episode, You Will Learn:Why it’s a big struggle for many extreme action athletes to find a new career if they’re injured (10:55)What Travis wants to teach his daughters about career opportunity (15:10)Why getting so many injuries and dealing with so much pain is worth it (16:47)How Travis talks himself through really crazy stunts (23:45)The story behind Travis breaking the world record for the longest car jump (26:20)Why the money is never worth it in this sport (38:56)The value in messing up while trying something new (43:37)What Travis does to unwind daily (44:40)How Travis and his wife handle each other’s risk-taking (46:30) Learn more about your ad choices. In this latest episode of The Only Business Networking Podcast on iTunes, we have Part 7 of the Who or What Series where Jordan Harbinger from the Jordan Harbinger Show, Amy Porterfield from the Online Marketing Made Easy Podcast, and Jeff Hoffman, serial entrepreneur from Priceline.com and Ubid.com talk to your host Travis Chappell, to continue the debate of whether who you know or what you know is more important, and why. Episode Highlights: Jordan Harbinger: It’s all about who you know - not just connecting up but up, down, and laterally. Your network is the most important resource you have. Short term - your network is great, long term - your network is crucial. How Jordan defines networking - helping people without the expectation of return and in a scalable way. When people help you and keep score they’ll write you off when you don’t reciprocate. Never think about networking transactionally. If you think everyone is taking advantage of you, it’s probably you. If someone won’t help you, even with small things, they’re probably taking advantage of you. Amy Porterfield: Who you know is important to a certain extent, but what you know is also important. People always need things done, so figure out what those things are. How Travis developed a relationship with John Lee Dumas and then got Amy Porterfield on the show. How Amy became friends with Marie Forleo and why she didn’t pay for that friendship. How to get started adding value to others. If you’re an evangelist for what someone is doing you can’t help but notice them. A person of influence is not going to tell you how they want you to support them. Jeff Hoffman: Who you know is more important because you don’t know everything. You’re not as smart as you think you are, and you’re not good at 12 things, you’re good at one thing. If you’re a founder/CEO/Manager you should schedule days to be out of the office to build your network. Why Jeff engages strangers all the time. How Jeff got a Universal Studios executive to come to be a partner in his independent studio. Most people neglect networking because they’re too busy being inefficient to stop and take time to be more efficient. 3 Key Points: Networking is not all about schmoozing people ahead of you, you should be well-connected with everyone - up, down, and laterally. There is not a difference between networking and real relationship building. Don’t build your network when you need it, build it way before you need it. Tweetable Quotes: “The only things people can’t take away from you are your skills and relationships.” -Jordan “You don’t have to be Richard Branson to offer value to people.” -Travis “Your heart has to be in the right place, it’s never about making something happen for you, and then magic happens.” -Amy “The only way to build anything of significance in life is to build a team.” -Jeff Resources Mentioned: Visit Travis’ website at Buildyournetwork.co (http://www.buildyournetwork.co/) Learn more about mentorships and masterminds for FREE at freemmcourse.com/enroll (http://www.freemmcourse.com/join) Download Meet Your Hero at travischappell.com/hero (http://travischappell.com/hero) Explode Your Network at travischappell.com/explode (http://travischappell.com/explode) For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy (https://www.acast.com/privacy)

LS: The reason for this gathering here is to hopefully promote a message of love and also make leaders out there [00:06:00] more aware of resources that are available to them as they strive to enhance their leadership ability, especially in the context of our LGBT brothers and sisters that, hopefully are finding a place in, in our congregations and our wards and in a place that they feel comfortable and they can worship with us there. It's, uh, those that have listened to, to Leading Saints for quite some time. Know that we have a, a beautiful relationship, a connection with the North Star, which is another non-profit. And I'll have Chris speak to that in a minute, [00:06:30] but they have a conference coming up in March that I can't stress enough the importance if you are in within a day's drive or can afford a plane ticket to Salt Lake or Provo. Where it's held in Provo. That, that you absolutely get there with as many members of your ward council and spouses, whatever it is and participate if not in the complete conference...

Today we’re talking to Travis Steffen. Travis has exited seven companies so far, and he’s going to share what he’s learned along the way, including lessons learned from a botched exit. He will help us understand what builds a successful business. We will also touch upon following our passions and how to find happiness as an entrepreneur when you’re always chasing the next best thing. He’s got some great tips, so you won’t want to miss it! In This Episode You’ll Learn: The first time Travis decided to become an entrepreneur and how he funded his first company. The types of businesses that Travis has run and how he got into them. Travis’s mindset as he gets into his businesses: What is he trying to accomplish? Does he keep the end in mind? Travis discusses how he used opportunities as stepping stones. One particular example of the sale of a company that Travis wishes he’d handled differently, including what he’d do now that would significantly increase the value of the business when it came time to sell. Travis’s thoughts on how people can switch industries based on his experience. How people can free themselves from what they’ve built: Travis recommends steps to follow. How Travis’s different exits have changed his mindset on what constitutes a successful finish. Travis’s definition of meaningful work and happiness as well as where he finds his fulfillment. Travis’s best advice for the exit journey, before and after. Takeaways: It’s important to systematize internal processes. If you’re doing things more than once, figure out a way to never have to do it again. It’s important to find your passion. We are always chasing the numbers and the competition, but it’s more important to figure out the “why.” Buyers just want an investment. They want cashflow with a good ROI. Know that your baby will eventually be someone else’s investment. Chances are if you’re listening to this podcast, you have some student loan debt. Having worked exclusively with dentists for most of my professional career, it’s not common for me to see aspiring practice owners coming out of school with 400-500k in student loan debt, and that’s only for a dental license! While we can debate whether or not the large costs are justified, the reality is, without a student loan plan of attack, you’ll be stuck making payments for the rest of your life. Which is why I’m excited to share my conversation with Travis Hornsby, founder of StudentLoanPlanner.com Travis has helped hundreds of professionals take control of their finances and student loan debt -- and has an incredible track record of helping his clients become debt free. Have you ever considered that the way most of us humans exercise or at least try to stay in shape usually has nothing to do with how we have evolved to move? Think about a rowing machine or a barbell. When is the last time you saw a gorilla jetting up a river in a canoe or lifting a 25lb log up and down for 12 reps? The human body is designed to move in nature, using its environment as a ‘gym.’ That environment might be a forest, or in the case of today’s guest- the concrete jungle of a city. In this episode, we learn all about moving your body like the human ape that you are, from one of the most popular natural movement experts in the world - Travis Brewer. Travis has combined elements of Acroyoga, Parkour, functional movement training, animal-based movements, and calisthenics, to create a system called ‘ninja flow.' This fitness system requires very few tools and certainly does not require membership to a gym, with it’s inherent forced exposure to bad LED lighting, irritating music, and the toxic fumes of rubber floors, and plastic exercise equipment. Through his many years of extensive training, Travis has not only learned to execute seemingly impossible feats of human movement but has also inspired millions of fans as a finalist on the hit NBC show American Ninja Warrior. If you're interested in expanding your vision of what your body is capable of, and in finding new and exciting ways to achieve a higher level of fitness, this episode is for you. It's also for anyone you know who could use a little inspiration in their movement practice. So do us all a favor, and share this show with a friend. To your physical potential, Luke Episode Breakdown: How Travis combined elements of Acroyoga, Parkour, functional movement training, animal based movements, and calisthenics, to create his own system called ‘ninja flow’ The power of certain numbers The importance of gratitude How losing his high paying job in real estate led to becoming a fitness TV star How the book autobiography of a yogi transformed Travis’s life How the lessons of self realization and meditation moved him in the direction of fitness and movement How Travis landed a gig on the hit TV Show American Ninja Warrior on NBC The importance of remaining teachable, in your body, mind, and spirit Connecting your mind and body to achieve a flow state Why the first step in fitness is strengthening your core, and opening your hips Getting started with animal flow: Travis gives a live lesson called an ape crawl The importance of positive progression How climbing trees, and signposts can become the foundation of a super fit body The idea that the world we live in can become your gym Exploring the power of ice baths, infrared saunas Why Travis became a vegan for a year, and why he stopped Best fats to eat for energy Why non-organic foods are not an option How Travis beat stage fright on national TV, and how to overcome all fears Lifestyle recommendations Episode Resources: Jiyo - Personal well-being app by Deepak Chopra Parkour training Frank Medrano - Calisthenics expert Acroyoga Modern Tarzan - Ninja warrior Mike Fitch Dylan Werner Products mentioned: Visit guest page here. We have some character on the show today. A man by the name of Travis Bell who travels the world inspiring people to create and achieve their personal bucket lists. Originally a personal trainer, Travis was actually a student of Action Coach himself. One day he sat down with his coach and said “I want to be the first guy to franchise personal training across Australia”, which is exactly what he did; opening up 21 outlets along the way. The confrontational nature of franchising didn’t suit him and he suffered from depression, so he thought long and hard about a change of direction. A number of people began asking him for life training rather than personal training, which set him on a new path. He then made the extraordinary decision to give away his whole business to the franchisees and become a motivational speaker and life coach. He gave his first seminar which in his words was ‘crap’, but during the seminar asked the question, “does anyone keep a list of things they want to do before they die?”. Nobody did, but the whole room was suddenly inspired to talk and to share stories. It was then that Travis’ calling as “The Bucket List Guy” came to be. He came out with so much gold during the show that there really is no need to paraphrase him. Just read the list below for some of the corkers he shared with Ben: ** “People are dying at 40 and being buried at 80” ** “The bucket list is the you that you don’t even know yet” ** “A bucket list is a tangible life plan - our business plan needs to fit into our career plan and not the other way around” ** “Why do we wait until it’s too late to get off our arse?” (i.e. people making bucket lists once they’re diagnosed with terminal illness) ** “Optimise your business so you can do stuff on your bucket list” ** “Only worry about the tsunami when it’s coming up your drive” In this episode of Business Brain Food you will learn: ** The M.Y.B.U.C.K.E.T.L.I.S.T formula ** How Travis learnt to become grateful ** How methods of schooling shape behaviour ** The definition of ‘sheeple’ ** How human beings fear being different ** How often to revisit your bucket list Resources mentioned in this episode: ** The M.Y.B.U.C.K.E.T.L.I.S.T formula explained in a free ebook: http://www.thebucketlistguy.com/ebook/ ** Travis’ website: http://www.thebucketlistguy.com ** Book recommendations: Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway - Susan Jeffers The E Myth: Why Most Businesses Don't Work and What to Do About It - Michael E. And the larger the company gets the more difficult it is to establish and maintain. One of the most obvious takeaways from this conversation with Travis Romine is the huge success he’s had building successful companies that scale while at the same time keeping the company culture not only healthy, but incredibly strong. All you need to see to believe it is to take a look employee and customer comments from the time frame when Travis was in charge of things. His name is mentioned repeatedly in glowing terms and the way people felt about working for him is obviously positive. Travis prefers not to think that employees are working for him, but alongside him - and that’s a huge reason why the culture of the companies he’s run has been so outstanding. But company culture is not the only thing you’ll hear on this episode. Travis has so much experience and skill in the e commerce space that the interview would be incomplete without tapping into his know-how. Travis generously shares a significant amount of wisdom about what it takes to not only build a strong company culture but to also grow and e commerce business successfully, including the software and packages that make the most sense to keep an e commerce business profitable and running smoothly. The conversation wraps up with what Jeremy calls “The Software Showdown” where he asks Travis to give his opinion about the big players in the e commerce software space, including their strong and weak points, areas where improvement is needed, and how each works in a practical, function way in real life scenarios. If you’ve been looking for the right e commerce solution and haven’t made up your mind yet, you need to listen to this conversation before you do. There are lots of people who hear of what’s going on with Amazon private label sales and think that they can’t get into it without a huge investment. But that’s not true, and this interview episode is proof. Today, Scott is chatting with Travis, a normal guy who calls himself an “average Joe.” Travis heard about private label sales on Amazon and decided he was going to make it work even though he didn’t have software to research his product ideas or a huge budget to do it. You’re going to be blown away by the success Travis has had simply by following some common sense steps. Getting the product idea first. Travis’ first private label product idea was a product that is a popular trend right now, so he wasn’t sure if he should go with it or not. But getting a good price on the product and the possibility of a good sized margin prompted him to take the leap. So with $1500 spent in products and fees Travis was able to get his first product onto Amazon. His story is an amazing one because his approach was truly a “bare bones” attempt and his hard work and risk taking has paid off. You can hear the exact steps Travis went through on this episode of The Amazing Seller. Playing with the price to get his product off the ground. When Travis first got his bare bones product onto the Amazon selling platform, his competition was pricing their products are around $15 each. He decided to go below that at $9.99 each. He wasn't sure what kind of effect that would have but went to sleep after posting his product consoling himself that he shouldn't expect much the first few days. He woke up to 5 sales of his product and he didn't even have any reviews on it yet. You can hear Travis’ amazing story as he shares it with Scott on this episode of The Amazing Seller. Pay per click right away and no reviews. One of the things Scott recommends to new sellers is to get their product onto the Amazon platform and then do a couple of giveaways to prompt reviews for the product. But Travis wanted to see what would happen if he didn't have any reviews but started with PPC right away. That's what he did, just using a broad search PPC campaign, and his sales began almost immediately. In his first month he sold over a thousand products and still has not secured any reviews for his product. He's hoping that organic reviews will happen soon, but also knows that he eventually needs to get a giveaway going to get his review started. Travis's gutsy approach is one you'll enjoy hearing about it, on this episode. Proof that private label sales can be done with a small budget and low amount of experience. Today's guest has never done Amazon private label sales before. He did not have a large bank row and had absolutely no experience sourcing or selling products online. The only education he had was listening to the episodes of this podcast. the results he's gotten are amazing. Within his first month Travis has well over $1,000 worth of sales and is already ordering more products to replenish the ones that have been sold. He expects to expand this product into multiple products, possibly variations of the same product, and even adding accessories to his product line. It's proof that Amazon private label sales is the real deal and anyone can do it. OUTLINE OF THIS EPISODE OF THE AMAZING SELLER [0:05] Scott’s introduction to the podcast! Travis Sherry got a late start in life to traveling the world internationally. He was 25 when he finally got bit by the travel bug on a study abroad internship trip, living in Lozan, Switzerland. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to make for himself a life of travel. “Everyday I would go swimming in Lake Geneva," says Travis, "and I'd look up at the Alps and think, ‘I’m not going to get this by just staying home all my life.’" Today, Travis bills himself as a regular guy who loves to travel, but zip on over to Extra Pack of Peanuts. and you’ll see he has just a little expertise in traveling the world for free, and helping his audience do the same.
