El éxito de la captura de Nicolás Maduro en Caracas el pasado sábado ha reactivado otro de los temas con los que Donald Trump está desde hace meses: el de anexionar Groenlandia a Estados Unidos. En rigor, la idea de apoderarse de Groenlandia viene de antes, de su primer mandato, cuando la enunció por primera vez para sorpresa de toda la comunidad internacional. En aquel momento se tomó como una baladronada de Trump sin demasiado recorrido, pero volvió con ella tan pronto como regresó a la Casa Blanca. Para Trump Groenlandia, una inmensa y despoblada isla de soberanía danesa en el Ártico, es de una importancia estratégica capital. Quiere poder controlarla directamente para disuadir a chinos y a rusos en esa parte del mundo. El secretario de Estado, Marco Rubio, ha confirmado que la intención del presidente es adquirir la isla a Dinamarca, pero que no descartan la acción militar si los daneses no se avienen a vender. Para el Gobierno Groenlandia es, aparte de un activo estratégico, una reserva de recursos minerales sin explotar que Estados Unidos debe controlar a toda costa. La respuesta del Gobierno danés ha pasado de la incredulidad a la irritación. La primera ministra, Mette Frederiksen, ha recordado que la isla no está en venta porque no pertenece a Dinamarca, sino a sus 57.000 habitantes, que gozan de una amplia autonomía desde hace años. Dinamarca, responsable de la defensa y las relaciones exteriores de Groenlandia, acepta una mayor presencia militar estadounidense y que se amplíen los derechos mineros de sus empresas, pero no tiene intención alguna de ceder la soberanía porque eso es simplemente absurdo. Hace un par de siglos no lo era en absoluto. Estados Unidos se formó en parte comprando territorios como Luisiana a Francia, Florida a España o Alaska al imperio ruso, pero de eso hace ya mucho tiempo. Hoy los Estados no pueden disponer de sus territorios y dependencias a su gusto sin contar con el parecer de quienes los habitan. Los groenlandeses no pretenden estar siempre vinculados a Dinamarca, aspiran a convertirse en un futuro en un Estado independiente, lo que no se plantean es pasar a ser un protectorado estadounidense. Si Trump decidiera optar por la vía de la anexión forzosa, las repercusiones internacionales serían catastróficas. En primer lugar, supondría el fin de la OTAN. Que un miembro de la Alianza invada a otro dinamitaría la confianza transatlántica y desmantelaría el sistema de seguridad que ha evitado conflictos en Europa desde la posguerra. Ante la pérdida del paraguas estadounidense, países como Alemania, Italia, España o Canadá podrían verse obligados a desarrollar sus propios arsenales nucleares para garantizar su seguridad. Además, China y Rusia encontrarían en esta acción la justificación perfecta para sus propias ambiciones en Taiwán, Ucrania o los países bálticos. En el caso de que la anexión se produjese, Groenlandia se convertiría en un territorio no incorporado similar a Puerto Rico. Esto generaría un nuevo dilema: una población gobernada desde Washington sin derecho a voto ni representación en el Congreso, cosa que hoy si que tienen en el parlamento danés, lo que podría ser la antesala de problemas mayores. Quedarse por las bravas con Groenlandia podría ser uno de los mayores errores de política exterior en la historia del país. Al intentar asegurar una isla donde ya tiene presencia militar, Estados Unidos corre el riesgo de sacrificar a sus aliados y su autoridad moral, los dos activos más valiosos que posee. The general consensus on sauna bathing is that it's a powerful tool for longevity, recovery and metabolic health. More sessions, higher heat, longer durations — all of these strategies are commonly assumed to produce better outcomes. But after hearing Paul Saladino question whether sauna use can add unnecessary stress for people who already train hard or live under chronic pressure, I felt it was worth taking a closer look at when sauna therapy is best leveraged and when it might do more harm than good. Here's the core issue: sauna use is a physiological stressor. It raises core temperature, increases cortisol, can lower HRV in the short term, and often causes temporary spikes in blood glucose.  And if your overall stress load is already high, adding another stressor on top of that won't necessarily improve recovery. In other words, the thing you should be concerned about is total stress load. When hard training, poor sleep, work pressure, and everyday life are already consuming most of your recovery capacity, spending long periods in very hot saunas can stop being adaptive and start competing with recovery. At the same time, when you zoom out, the long-term evidence supporting sauna bathing remains strong — even for people who train regularly.  These benefits – including improvements in cardiovascular function, insulin sensitivity, heat tolerance and sleep quality – play out over years and decades, not session by session. And I suspect the number of people who train so hard that their system is pushed to its limit is relatively low.  So in my view, discouraging sauna use is the wrong overall approach; for most people in most scenarios, the benefits far outweigh the risks. Still, it can be beneficial to pay attention to dosage and timing. Long, very hot sauna sessions layered onto hard training and inadequate recovery can overwhelm your ability to recover, rather than support it. Used more deliberately — i.e., shorter sessions, reasonable temperatures, and better placement within the week — time in the sauna often has the opposite effect, helping people unwind, sleep better, and recover more fully – even when their fitness trackers show short-term fluctuations. Tras varios meses de despliegue en el Caribe, el ejército de EEUU puso en marcha la "Operación Determinación Absoluta" con la que capturó a Nicolás Maduro y Cilia Flores en el Fuerte Tiuna de Caracas. El traslado inmediato de la pareja a una prisión de Nueva York nos regaló unas imágenes impagables, pero el entusiasmo inicial de la rueda de prensa en Mar-a-Lago pronto ha dado paso a algo de incertidumbre sobre el futuro inmediato. A pesar de la euforia de Donald Trump, flanqueado por Marco Rubio y Pete Hegseth, la realidad en las calles de Caracas cuenta una historia distinta. Trump adelantó que Estados Unidos mantendría el control de Venezuela para tutelar la transición política. Pero el hecho es que sin presencia sobre el terreno el control efectivo del país sigue en manos del régimen chavista. Al llevarse solo a Maduro, Trump ha dejado intacto a lo más duro de la cúpula del régimen: Delcy Rodríguez, Vladimir Padrino y Diosdado Cabello. De hecho, la proclamación de Rodríguez como presidenta, respaldada por los órganos represivos de la dictadura, podría indicar que el aparato ha cerrado filas. Trump no ha presentado aún una hoja de ruta en la que se establezca un calendario para la liberación de los presos políticos, el regreso de los opositores exiliados, la celebración de elecciones y el reconocimiento de Edmundo González Urrutia, ganador de las elecciones de 2024, como presidente legítimo del país. Todo lo contrario, Trump desairó innecesariamente a Maria Corina Machado en público esgrimiendo una supuesta falta de apoyo, algo tan sorprendente como incierto ya que Machado y González Urrutia fueron quienes arrasaron en las elecciones. La operación, por lo tanto, no parece que fuese dirigida a que Venezuela recupere la democracia o no, al menos, a corto plazo. Entretanto Trump ha intentado justificar la intervención con el petróleo y la llamada "Doctrina Donroe" (una versión actualizada de la Doctrina Monroe). Pero si todo era por petróleo el negocio no va a ser ni fácil, ni rápido, ni boyante. Con el barril a 60 dólares y una infraestructura en ruinas que requiere una inversión previa de no menos de 100.000 millones de dólares, el crudo venezolano no es el negocio inmediato que la Casa Blanca pregona. Además, la invocación de América como "patio trasero" de EEUU choca con la realidad geopolítica de nuestro tiempo. Potencias regionales como Brasil, México o Colombia cuentan con un peso demográfico y económico que impide tratarlos como a las "repúblicas bananeras" del siglo XIX. La captura de Maduro fue limpia y exitosa, inigualable como golpe de efecto, pero carece por ahora de un plan y de un objetivo claro. Sin ocupar suelo venezolano y después de disparar la bala del factor sorpresa, la capacidad de EEUU para imponer su criterio a tanta distancia es limitada. Si el chavismo quiere resistir podrá hacerlo. A un coste elevado, cierto es, pero más costoso sería para ellos disolver la organización criminal en la que hace años se transformó aquel régimen. En la madrugada del sábado Caracas fue el escenario de la operación "Absolute Resolve", una incursión ejecutada por los Delta Force que capturaron a Nicolás Maduro y a su esposa, Cilia Flores. Tras pasar por la base de Guantánamo, el dictador aterrizó a última hora de la tarde en Nueva York custodiado por la DEA. En estos momentos Maduro se encuentra recluido en el Centro de Detención Metropolitano de Nueva York, donde recaen sobre él cuatro cargos muy graves que podrían acarrearle cadena perpetua. Tras el éxito de la operación, Donald Trump compareció en Mar-a-Lago para anunciar un giro político sorprendente. Rompiendo con su tradicional retórica aislacionista, el presidente aseguró que Estados Unidos asumirá el gobierno de Venezuela de manera indefinida hasta garantizar una transición adecuada. Este plan incluye la toma de control de la industria petrolera y la reconstrucción de una infraestructura que describió como podrida. Aunque Trump presentó la intervención como un acto benévolo para facilitar el regreso de millones de exiliados, su estrategia de construcción nacional plantea serios interrogantes sobre la viabilidad de gobernar un país de 26 millones de habitantes sin un gran despliegue de tropas terrestres. Esta postura contrasta con el tipo de intervenciones previas de su segundo mandato, que hasta ahora habían sido ataques aéreos quirúrgicos en países como Irak, Siria o Irán. Lo de Venezuela, en cambio, se perfila como un esfuerzo de ocupación prolongado, algo que trae a la memoria precedentes muy cercanos en el tiempo como Afganistán o Irak, donde las promesas de estabilidad democrática terminaron en procesos largos y accidentados con resultados cuestionables o abiertamente desastrosos. Son muchos ahora los que tratan de enmarcar la operación como un "Panamá 2.0", en referencia a la invasión de 1989 para capturar a Manuel Noriega. Pero es una comparación un tanto inexacta. Venezuela es doce veces más grande que Panamá y posee una geografía inmensamente más compleja. Mientras que en 1989 Estados Unidos operaba desde sus propias bases dentro del canal con miles de efectivos ya desplegados, en la Venezuela de 2026 debe empezar sin bases, sin jurisdicción propia y sin siquiera una embajada abierta. Además, la potencial resistencia es significativamente mayor: frente a los 15.000 efectivos de Noriega, Venezuela cuenta con un ejército profesional de 120.000 miembros y una milicia civil armada que podría activar una insurgencia de guerrilla urbana y terrorismo. El éxito de esta ambiciosa apuesta dependerá de la capacidad de Trump para transformar esta intervención en una política de Estado que cuente con el apoyo generalizado de los venezolanos y trascienda a su propio mandato. Aunque la justificación petrolera parece algo más material que puramente estratégico ya que EEUU es autosuficiente en ese aspecto, la verdadera ganancia reside en la estabilidad regional y la expulsión de la influencia de China en Hispanoamérica. Si el nuevo gobierno tutelado logra estabilizar la economía y restaurar la democracia, no solo se pondrá fin a décadas de fracaso del socialismo del siglo XXI, sino que se enviará un mensaje de disuasión definitivo a otros regímenes autoritarios, dejando de paso a la camarilla castrista en Cuba en una situación de aislamiento terminal. We are quite certain of your ascension, and yet we know that you are all choosing different paths to get to the same place. We support you no matter what path you choose as an individual, and we know that every path has merit, has validity, has a purpose. What we do for all of you is to light the way so that you can see that no matter what path you are on, you know where you are going. You know that there is an end point that you are reaching for. You cannot get off of the path that you are on at this point. You have chosen ascension. You have chosen to remember more of who you really are while still in this physical body, and you have chosen to explore a unique path that would allow you to know yourself more through the walking of that path. And when we say ‘more,' we are talking about the true you, the real you, the whole you. Many of you want to know who you were in a past life and where you are from in terms of other star systems in the galaxy, but we are talking about the true you as a Source Energy Being. And everything that you encounter along your path is an opportunity to know yourself more experientially as you truly are. Of course, you have desires and you are meant to have desires, and those desires do serve you and serve you well. They keep you going. They give you something to reach for, something to achieve. And of course, you want to have something to do while in the physical realm, exploring that reality and that planet and that dimension. And so, you have your desires. In the pursuit of your desires, you will be faced with what you need to face in order to grow.
