This week's pick is the 1977 natural horror film Day of the Animals. TD Hall of Famers Christopher George and Richard Jaeckel star in rather subdued roles (which disappointed Bill) alongside a fiendish Leslie Nielson who steals the show as a huge prick. They are part of a hiking group that is terrorized and attacked by animals gone mad from the effects of a depleted ozone layer.

We hear dead people! Haha, we promised a local hometown haunt and here it is. Alanna reads to us of the haunting encounters that happen at the McKay Avenue School, an institution established in Edmonton in 1881. You know the big old buildings that look like they could be old-timey jails or schoolhouses? That's the vibe, only now it's a museum where the spirits tease the workers like they may have pranked their teachers so long ago! And since Leslie Nielson was a student, you know stuff went down!So join us, Gordo the Interrupting Ca-(Meow!), Ron the worker and Peter the poltergeist with a saucy personality, for some Sunday Scaries, but the good kind! And some divergences into Halloween 2024, the Haunted Museum in Vegas, and why we would never come back to haunt high school. But we may have to go check out this haunted school... So don't forget to rate, share, and donate on Patreon so we can go ghost-hunting!! Right, Kelsey? Kelsey?? ....

How should a climatetech company think about its brand? What if it's B2B? What if it needs to be both trustworthy and idiosyncratic at the same time?! In today's episode of Reversing Climate Change, Nori Cofounder, Ross Kenyon, is joined by his colleague, Heidi Sloane, Nori's Senior Marketing Manager. Heidi led Nori's recent rebrand, which took it from a more playful B2C feel to something more sturdy and B2B. We used the agency Odi to help us with it. Great job, Odi! Heidi explains how a brand can retain its personality and uniqueness while also communicating that it is serious about what it does and can be trusted. Just because one can sometimes act like a clown, doesn't mean one needs to dress like one. If you don't believe me, ask Leslie Nielson. They also discuss how to lead stakeholder engagement in a way that minimizes conflict or typical committee dysfunction and make sure feedback is heard and synthesized without fetishizing consensus. The fifth film in our Self-Aware Horror cycle is 1982's mashup of George Romero and Stephen King, Creepshow. Creepshow is an anthology horror film created as an hommage to the trashbin mid-century comic series, EC Comics. Romero and King grew up with EC Comics and its twisted tales of the macabre. Here the comic's ghastly ethos is distilled into five different segments starring big names of the time: Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Ted Danson, Leslie Nielson, and Stephen King himself. The film's particular mixture of gore, faux-naif satire, and moral comeuppance feels quite out of place today, a little Molotov mocktail aimed at the classic bogeyman of 1950's social conformity. Special Guest: Max from the lively and fun Galaxy Of Film podcast. For our chaser film, we face the music with House (1977). This bizzaro historical curio works the exact opposite of Creepshow. House feels like it could have been made yesterday: absurdist surrealism horror of a hipster vein. One suspects the t-shirts inspired by the film are more popular and seen than the film itself.

Actual talent on the No Outlet Podcast! In fact, I am going to go out on a sturdy limb and state that tonight's guest is the MOST TALENTED person we have ever had on the show and that is saying something. Our guest has been part of a Broadway production, has been in Movies, TV shows, was the Artistic director of UCB NYC, is the creator and host of “Characters Welcome” an AMAZING YouTube channel, he also is the Founder of the Squirrel Comedy Theatre…I could go on and on, but I think that I have made my point. You will not be surprised (being the improv nerds that we are) to hear that we a huge fans of this guy, and were really excited to have him on the show! We talked about the best Harold Team ever*, the art of Face Calibration (and correlating skill enhancements), the importance of Pippen (not Scottie), a few things we have in common, finally making Karaoke an Olympic event and picking the perfect song, developing a sense of humor with Leslie Nielson, finding the right alchemy when forming world class Improv teams, aggressive (sounding) foreign languages, the age old choice between Alcohol and Caffeine and when not to comment on an extremely overdone cultural moment along with may other super important topics. We had a great time and hope you all enjoyed the conversation as much as we did! Check out Michael in all his endeavors...you can see him perform at the Squirrel Comedy Theatre https://www.thesquirrelnyc.com/ with his Improv team Borabish and, of course, check out Characters Welcome on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CharactersWelcome. Season 3 - Episode #6: Undertaker vs. Underfaker Before the Undertaker was the most respected man in the company, he had several very bad feuds in the early 90s. One of the strangest is when he battled himself! SummerSlam 1994 pitted The Undertaker vs. a fake? Undertaker. Oh yeah and the angle involved Airplane and Naked Gun star Leslie Nielson and it's glorious! On Episode 20 of the SLPS Michael and Nick pay tribute to one of the legends in the horror genre; the late, great George A. Romero. Romero died July 16th, 2017 and surprised us all. On this episode we'll be discussing CREEPSHOW, his classic anthology team-up with Stephen King and Tom Savini. CREEPSHOW was born out the Romero and King’s shared love for classic EC Horror Comics and pays tribute to these classic books in it’s style and storytelling. CREEPSHOW is an anthology film broken down into 5 parts plus a wraparound. These stories feature everything from cake loving undead, to a mysterious crate, and even a man turning into a plant. Starring in the film is an assortment of notably names from Leslie Nielson, Hal Holbrooke, Tom Atkins, Ted Dansen, Adrienne Barbeau and many more. Nick and Michael also spend a little time just talk about the impact Romero had not only on independent filmmaking but their own personal lives. They also both confess their undying love for NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. This is definitely one of the more hefty episodes of the show, but well worth a listen. Joining us in the diner this week is Kirk Howle from the Schlock treatment podcast over at www.schlocktreatment.com and one half of Leopardactyl which can be found on Soundcloud here: http://soundcloud.com/leopardactyland we're going to be talking about two excessively random straight-to-video-in-1986 bad action films:The Patriot (no not the one you're thinking of OR the one with Steven Seagal BUT a different one with Gregg Henry as the star and Leslie Nielson in a serious role!)and Leo Fong's Low Blow which is pretty low and it does blow but doesn't really feature any low blowing, which is confusing!Anyway we guffaw, chuckle, cry with laughter and narrowly avoid getting our minds f**ked through the two movies in one of the funniest couple of hours I have ever spent. So come have a listen! Also there is yet another BRAND NEW songMusic from the Diner can be found at: http://soundcloud.com/diners-dittiesAlso please head to http://aftermoviediner.blogspot.com for the AFTER MOVIE DINER'S ALTERNATIVE OSCARS!You can e-mail us: aftermoviediner@gmail.comYou can follow us on Twitter: @aftermoviedinerSearch for us on Facebook - The Podcast from the After Movie Dinerand please comment, leave feedback, rate and review us on www.talkshoe.com and iTunesWe are also now on www.podbean.com and www.podcastpickle.comThe After Movie Diner Podcast is part ofTHE 2ND UNIT PODCAST NETWORK!Our ALL NEW website - http://2upn.blogspot.com/

Welcome to Rum Doings Episode 64, a very special episode scripted by former Doctor Who helmsmen, Russell “T” Davies. As part of their multiracial, intrasexual, post-masculinism relationship, Nick and John discuss the lameness of John’s name, the tendency for Victorians to not die properly, and how we actually recorded this episode before the Ben Goldacre one. Our Welsh accents make another appearance, we discuss Old Man Murray, and John explains the full glory of the Cat Moustache puzzle from Gabriel Knight 3. THAT HE NOTICED FIRST. See behind the scenes for how we come up with our topics to not discuss. Then we moisten our palates with a mixed fruit cider. And then wedding cakes. We continue our hatred of the blind, ponder Brian Blessed’s continued existence, and the collapse of Leslie Nielson’s career. Especially of late.

The show kicked off with remembering the legendary comic actor Leslie Nielson. Which led to Kasten going in depth about OJ Simpson’s acting career, which then led to Danny continuing to quote way too many Nielson films. After reminiscencing about a restaurant in Queens built in honor of cult leader, Shri Shimrol (or was it Tri Trimrow?). The gang thought it’d be a brilliant idea to start a religion of their own. Calling on all Comical Radio cult listeners, you too can be a member of Comicism. Just abide by the following rules: -Celibacy is not encouraged, but mindless sex is. -Donate $1 a day to Comical Radio. -You must give a 5 star rating for Comical Radio on iTunes. -Join the forums and post. After getting through the basics of the newly formed religion, Danny revealed his secret past time - Pedicures and Dumpling Factories. But its okay as long as he is smoking a cigar and drinking a whiskey. It was Monday, so the interns weren’t in to hear some good trash talking. Thankfully it was only about the ones in the way past. Kasten let out his frustration about a rich old intern who couldn’t keep his secrets while picking at Danny’s zits. Hiring procedures have become more strict as Chris's corporate comedy career begins.

Epic Mickey comes out says Gamer Dave. Dr. DJ quotes a line from Airplane that wasn't said by Leslie Nielson. Gamer Dave and his buds camped out at Game Stop and they all said that Black Friday ......
