The results found that the top 2 players are China and the US. When you don't have governance frameworks in place (and the report shows that the majority of organisations are not thinking about this) there's a lot of risks that you could incur. Ethical risks, compliance and legal issues, intellectual property risks, security vulnerabilities. In 1988, Paul K Sr. featured a Romanian wine in the Original Wine of the Month Club. The wine was Premiat Sauvignon Blanc and was $2.50/bottle on reorder. It was a very nice wine.  Turns out, according to Marinela, that wine was purchased from Romania during the USSR rule. Long before the value and complexity of freedom was real. It is so interesting that the Original Wine of the Month Club was ahead of its time in 1988...finding a Soviet block wine worthy of the American palate. Now, as she explains, the wine trade is dynamic and changing to a European model. This is a slow and complicated transition.  Despite the headwinds to brand building, exportation, and world wine recognition, Marinela is confident that Romanian wines will find their way to the world wide wine stage. Dr. Marinela Maskuti is a public health and health policy practitioner. She has completed a Master of Public Health and Doctor of Public Policy. Currently, she serves as the Mental Health Wellness Officer for Nevada System of Higher Education, System Administration office in Las Vegas where she manages training for mental health and supervised a system-wide survey assessment for access barriers to mental health resources and services. Prior to working for NSHE, Dr. Maskuti served as the Wellness Educator for the Student Wellness Center at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. During her time at UNLV, Marinela coordinated training courses for peer health education and managed wellness promotion, student engagement, and health education presentations with a focus on mental health and wellness. In addition to UNLV, Marinela also worked for the Southern Nevada Health District, where she administered public health educational presentations and materials specific to COVID-19 for medical providers and patient communities of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic and health backgrounds. Prior to relocating to Las Vegas and working for SNHD, Marinela resided in Philadelphia where she worked for the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Department of Radiation Oncology, where she supervised survivorship cancer resources for patients and organized medical provider training programs for proton radiation therapy.

The word stairs can be spelt s-t-a-i-r-s, meaning a flight of steps, like the ones you would walk up to get to the top of a house. To celebrate our 4th Annual Woman in OC Medtech Event, we will be doing a interview with event panelist Marinela Gombosev.  Marinela is CEO of Evoke Neuroscience, a data and diagnostics company focused on reducing the number of people living with treatable cognitive impairment.  After immigrating into the United States as a war refugee from Bosnia at the age of 14, she went on to complete her undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine and received an MBA from Pepperdine University where she was recognized as a “Top 40 under 40” alumna.  In 2015, Marinela was inducted into the University of California, Irvine School of Engineering Hall of Fame as the youngest recipient of this award.  She has spent her entire 15 year career in regulated industries, the most recent 10 of which have been in medical devices.   In this episode of DeviceAlliance’s Medtech Radio, we discuss her experience coming to the US, the importance of why soft skills in leadership are essential in these times, the impact of Alzhimers's Disease and Evoke Neuroscience's solution for cognitive impairment, what women can do to prepare themselves for success during these times, and much more!

S-a născut la Cavnic, în județul Maramureș, bunicul fiind cel care i-a trezit, în timpul copilăriei, pasiunea pentru vin. A studiat în Italia, Franța și China, are un MBA în industria vinului obținut la Trieste, a urmat cursurile Școlii de Somelieri la Milano timp de trei ani, și nu uitat să treacă și prin L’Ecole du Vin din Bordeaux unde a obținut o diplomă în Wine and Food Pairing la Roma. A fost numită „The Best Sommelier of Romania” și a obținut premiul „Sommelier of Honour”, acordat de Worldwide Sommelier Association și FAS (Fondazione Italiana Sommelier) la Roma. A publicat și două cărți bilingve, prima fiind despre împerecherea bucătăriei italienești cu vinurile românești, ”50 de vinuri românești întâlnesc 50 de preparate culinare italiene”, iar a doua este dedicată celor mai bune vinuri din România și Republica Moldova, Cartea Vinurilor Românești. Este specializată în categoria spumantelor, în special șampanie și prosecco, și predă cultura șampaniei la Italian Chef Academy din Roma. Și pentru că este un ambasador desăvârșit al tradițiilor și vinului românesc, de anul acesta reprezintă atât în România cât și în străinătate, Vinarsul Brâncoveanu, o băutură recunoscută pentru eleganță în segmentul feminin.
