Long before Hot Ones became a viral sensation, there was Man v. Food. Over four seasons on the Travel Channel, host Adam Richman cruised the country going toe-to-toe with fiery chicken wings, monster-sized pizzas, pizza-sized burgers and more. Though the Brooklyn native demolished eating challenges that boggled both the mind and the belly, the heartbeat of MvF was in the small sandwich shops and hole-in-the-wall diners that were suddenly given a national stage. Since then, he's remained an in-demand, jovial educator of eating -- whether helping demystify menus via the YouTube series Pro Moves, embracing UK cuisine through Discovery+'s Adam Richman Eats Football, or tracing the origins of our favorite culinary brands on The Food That Built America (now in its sixth season). On today's episode, Adam dissects the similarities between food and music culture, his vinyl collecting habits, the classic rock staples he first heard through Beastie Boys samples, and the connections he's made with world-class performers who just so happen to be huge MvF fans -- ranging from Warren G to Green Day. Follow @adamrichman on Instagram and watch The Food That Built America on the History Channel, Sunday evenings at 9pm EST/8pm CST.

Can you tell us a bit more about how you help create brands and come up with flagship products? Doc Williams view signature products as either something that gives a business the reach that they want to be perceived with. That way, the signature product becomes like the lamp that makes you known to people or something the most money in a business. He does this improving all the products for one to become your signature product which becomes a gateway or the most expensive item in your repertoire. For Vayner, Doc provided knowledge of podcasting and live streaming. Doc William created the Gary V Content Model 2.0 and gave it to smaller businesses that aren't in the fortune 500. He also gave them a clear path on how they can use it to work with Vayner Media. He streamlined the workflow needed to structure their content in a way that will make them more money and be more prolific. He introduced and implemented a workflow using podcast creation and live streaming to Vayner Media. Signature products or services look different from client to client. It's about what they want to stand out for, how they want to move with their business, and how they want to operate. How do you identify the “brand” of a certain brand? How do you know what the flagship product is? Are most of your clients people who are lost because they don't have a brand or a product yet? For the most part, yes, some of Doc's clients are lost at the time. When that happens, he focuses on what his audience cares about. So many brands already have an idea or two of what their product should be, but more often than not, they have never asked someone about it. Most of Doc's clients can't prove that they're product is what their audience is asking for, not knowing that that is where it all starts. People usually think that making an App is the solution when you can use something else that's already been created. These people tend to fall in love with what they're trying to do so much that they lose track of what their audience needs. Just like how Doc created a workflow for Vayner, did consult for AppSumo, and made Apps for his other clients, he just wants to help them get from point A to point B. He provides a figurative vehicle to get his clients to where they need to be. Doc would do the work by getting a hold of the data, breaking it down, and analyzing how they can serve the audience with what they currently have, and start from there. He also likes doing mini-tests called MVF or Minimal Viable Funnel. Here, he asks a client or their salesperson to have a real conversation to sell whatever they're trying to do. If they get to sell it, great, if not, he asks them why not. Doc likes real conversations because usually, how people talk in a real conversation is very different from what's on their website. He needs to have natural language to see if it's going to work. The biggest thing with Doc's students and other marketers he knows is that they want these huge funnels. Doc, on the other hand, just wants to see how fast they can sell something through natural conversations. If they can't, they have to explain what went wrong. This is what Doc does to every single company. In 2019, Doc talked to AppSumo about what they could do better. He was quick to answer that they were promoting too many deals. Because of that, people become paralyzed. When people get too many choices, they won't convert. Essentially, the couldn't tell the difference between the many choices. The problem is that if you're working day in and day out, you won't be able to see these things. With clients its usually cloudy because they think they know what they're doing, just like Doc at times. This is why consultants are important. They help do evaluations of the businesses. This is needed because it's really easy to lose sight of things quickly. Support the show (https://tribe.leadershipstack.com/)

Wow! I rarely have bad days but the day I am recording this kinda sucked... Lessons to share: 1. You are not alone. We all have bad days. Sometimes the day just needs to be over and start fresh tomorrow. 2. My bad day today is all tech based. Maybe it's the moon? Who knows..but remove yourself from tech if you can. Take a walk, connect with nature or people "in the flesh"- crazy idea huh? 3. Appreciate others- people are kind and compassionate. Apologize if you need to, explain what's happening and you may be surprised! It's not all that bad. Thanks for listening...and please share with someone who needs to know they are not alone. Much love and kindness. MVF

In the second part in Airing Pain’s series on complex regional pain syndrome, Paul speaks to specialists and patients at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Disease CRPS rehabilitation programme in Bath. This programme was funded by grants from RS Macdonald Charitable Trust and the Hospital Saturday Fund. Complex regional pain syndrome affects 1 in 3,800 new people every year in the UK*. It is a poorly understood condition and it can be frustrating for patients who are suffering to find peace of mind. The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Disease in Bath began its rehabilitation service for individuals with CRPS in 1999 and is one of the very few in the UK with outpatient and inpatient care dedicated to CRPS. The centre, led by Professor Candy McCabe, strives to improve patients’ lives through up-to-date multidisciplinary techniques ranging from occupational therapy to mirror visual feedback (MVF). Michael and Julie, patients currently enrolled in the rehabilitation programme, speak to Paul about the injuries that caused them to develop the syndrome, how it affects their lives, and how the programme is helping them cope. Paul also sits in on a session with Senior Physiotherapist Emma Houlihan and patient Chris, whose entire left side of his body has been affected by CRPS, to explore the therapies used at the centre to try to help him regain normal sensation. Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist Jane Hall describes the process that new patients will go through, and how the centre helps patients even after they have left the programme. *NHS: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Complex-Regional-Pain-Syndrome/Pages/Introduction.aspx Contributors: Professor Candy McCabe, clinical lead for the complex regional pain syndrome service. Season Nine concludes in a event episode in a Tropical location, except we'll never see the beach... "The One In Barbados Parts 1 and 2", Ross is the keynote speaker and bizzare rock star of the dinosaur convention. Joey and Charlie's relationship comes to a head. Chandler deletes Ross' speech with an email attachment. Monica calls Mike to save Pheobe from marrying David. So long David. Monica and Mike play ping pong. Rachel is mad that they can't go outside because it is constantly raining, also she and Joey kiss. Josh makes a Whisky Sour, mixologist style--from scratch squeezing lemons and limes and everything. Half Marathon Challenges with Hot Sauce The Podcast. Melissa beating septuagenarians . Don't say, "I don't even own a TV", even if it's true. The Love Square is a thing. The reaction to this episode as I remember it in 2003. Chandler gets even with Pheobe? tweet to @JoshSolbach or @MelissaSolbach email theonewithpodcast@gmail.com Next week: Special episode on Monday, TV wrap up. Wednsday, S9End and the annoucement of the suprising winner of MVF and Runner Up.
The Chondro Legend Series continues with Greg Schroeder on December 28th at 9pm EST. This week we head into the penultimate episode of Season 2, 'The one with the Chicken Pox'. Little Ben's got the Pox and everybody's already had it except Phoebe. Guest Star Charlie Sheen shows up to share the Pox with Phoebe. Joey gets a job thanks to Chandler, but then begins a fantasy llfe that causes Chandler lots of problems. Ross pulls an Officer and a Gentlemen for Rachel. Monica lets her crazy out for Richard to see, and he doesn't run screaming from the apartment. You can reach the podcast at theonewithpodcast@gmail.com or by calling 316-361-6081. We would love to have you be apart of the show. We would also like to have you rate and review the podcst in iTunes. Most importantly, if you know somebody who loves Friends--tell them about us. This show is for Friends fans! Next week we cover the Season 2 Finale. Then our big Season Ender show, with the winner of the MVF of the whole season named and a recap of the best moments.
This episode of The One With Podcast covers Season 2 Episode 9, 'The one with Pheobe's Dad'. Although it isn't in the title it is a Christmas episode. So prepare yourself for a few Christmas Carols. (You can guess who does the singing) UNG (Ugly Naked Guy) makes his first appearance this season and Gunther gets his first line. Josh and Melissa improvise a limirick. Yes, you read that correctly. The MVF, Runner-Up, and episode rating round out the Holiday Festivities. BUT, the big news is that we got a phone call from Frank that mentions some kisses we missed a few episodes back. Also we got an email from listner Chad. Thanks Chad! You can call (like Frank) at 316-361-6081 or email (like Chad) theonewithpodcast@gmail.com. And If you get a moment please rate us in the iTunes store.
This week we discuss Season 2 Episode 5 'The one with 5 steaks and a eggplant'. Money is part of the holy trinity of don't talk about that amoungst friends. (The other two are religion and politics) To help break the tension, Josh and Melissa play a brand new game: IMDB Say So. You can play along while listening, just know other TV show apperances of Friends. We do our usual in depth discussion of the episode and wrap up with our MVF, Runner-up, and rating of the episode. Stick around for a little Star Trek talk at the very end. If you like what you hear, please rate the episode in iTunes store. You can reach us at theonewithpodcast@gmail.com or 316-361-6081.
One season down, only nine to go... This week we kick off season two with "The one with Ross' new girlfriend' and the liner notes writer actually got one right. Fresh off her Most Valueable Friend (MVF) for season one, Pheobe gets to recap of the first season. It doesn't take long until Josh sings the Indiana Jones Theme, which leads to discussion of mail order brides. Neither Melissa or Josh know how that system works, and we have no desire to have such knowledge. Don't tell us. All the Friends have much more expensive hair cuts, because this is the second season. We start the count down to the full on Rachael hair style. There is a discussion of smitten kitten phone calls. Monica badgers Pheobe into a bad haircut, and we get the first appearence of the catch phrase, "I KNOW!". Chandler gets a bad touch from a tailor that Joey reccomened. Rachael was wearing super short skirts in this episode, if that's your thing. Paulo does the walk of shame for all of us to see for the last time. This podcast gets boring if only one person is talking. We select our MVF, Runner-up, and rate the episode. Neither one of us has rated or reviewed podcasts on iTunes and we quickly get embarrased. There is a phone ringing, if you listen close. You can contact us at theonewithpodcast@gmail.com or call us 316-361-6081. Shout out to Dana and Danielle who are listening.
