The Filmcast: After Dark is the bonus show where we talk about a variety of random topics that didn't make it into the main podcast. In this episode, David, Devindra, and Jeff welcome Dan Trachtenberg back to the podcast to discuss Predator: Badlands, which is streaming on Disney+ and Hulu and available on Blu-Ray/4K. They discuss what it's like to tweak the movie studio logo at the beginning of the film, how they convinced the world Elle Fanning was a backpack, why the film is rated PG-13, and the tiny differences between a scene that works and a scene that doesn't. Please note this conversation has SPOILERS for Predator: Badlands.PATRONS: You can get this audio in your podcast app by going to patreon.com/filmpodcast, going to the "My Membership" section, and copying and pasting the RSS link to your podcast app.

Their religious potential is no less strong; rather, it is expressed through the new capacities of their own stage of development.” - Sofia Cavalletti, The History of the Kingdom of God, Part 1, Pg. 173 Rebekah joins us on the podcast today to discuss the Spiral Method and how it applies to our work in CGS. Rebekah Rojcewicz is a catechist and formation leader in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd having completed her training in 1981 in Rome with Dr. Sofia Cavalletti and Gianna Gobbi. She has translated several of their books and articles from the original Italian and has written and edited various parts of the CGS core texts. She is also the author of Life in the Vine: The Joyful Journey Continues. Rebekah is a catechist at her parish, St. Patrick Catholic Church, and for the Missionaries of Charity atrium in Memphis, Tennessee. She serves on the formation advisory council for CGSUSA, as well as on the International Board for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Characteristic #3 - The atrium is a community in which children and adults live together a religious experience which facilitates participation in the wider community of the family, the church, and other social spheres. The atrium is a place of prayer, in which work and study spontaneously become meditation, contemplation, and prayer. The atrium is a place in which the only Teacher is Christ; both children and adults place themselves in a listening stance before his Word and seek to penetrate the mystery of the liturgical celebration. “The pilgrimage of faith is not a journey in a straight line with death waiting at the end, but a kind of spiral through which progress is made only in successively deeper experiences of death and rebirth.” - Mark Searle Books you might be interested in: The Religious Potential of the Child 6 to 12 Year Olds History of the Kingdom of God Part 1: Creation to Parouisa History of the Kingdom of God Part 2: Liturgy and the Building of the Kingdom Life in the Vine: The Joyful Journey Continues Podcast Episodes you might be interested in: Episode 42 – The Mystery of Time Episode 57 – Celebrating the Life of Tina Lilig TINA LILIG MEMORIAL FUND During the month of February, we remember our first national director, Valentina Lillig, and we honor her legacy by encouraging generosity to the Tina Lillig Memorial Fund. The mission of the Tina Lillig Memorial Fund is to support the growth and development of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd through catechist formation, missionary outreach, and the work of the United States Association of The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGSUSA). To these ends, the TLM Fund offers a source of financial aid (in the form of partial scholarships) to applicants who would find paying the full tuition of a course to be a hardship. If you or your community needs scholarship or grant support for formation, please visit our website and apply [this could be a link in the show notes]. The next deadline for applications is April 30. Thank you to all the donors who have generously supported the TLM Fund and made formation courses possible for catechists across the US and the world. BECOME A CGSUSA MEMBER AUDIOBOOK: Audiobook – Now Available on Audible CGSUSA is excited to offer you the audio version of The Religious Potential of the Child – 3rd Edition by Sofia Cavalletti, read by Rebekah Rojcewicz! The Religious Potential of the Child is not a “how-to” book, complete with lesson plans and material ideas. Instead it offers a glimpse into the religious life of the atrium, a specially prepared place for children to live out their silent request: “Help me come closer to God by myself.” Here we can see the child's spiritual capabilities and perhaps even find in our own souls the child long burdened with religious information. This book serves as a companion to the second volume, The Religious Potential of the Child 6 to 12 Years Old. Happy Hump Day, dear listener. This week on your most favoritest podcast, we did a lot. What we did will remain a mystery until you hit that play button, but I will say the episode consists of Clyde, questions, conversations, and discourse; you'll love it, I swear. Slight warning, this episode leans a little more PG-13 than we usually go, not that anyone will read this to get the warning, but I tried. Thank you for listening!! Ad astra per aspera. In February 1978, five young men vanished after attending a basketball game in Yuba County, California. Their car was later found abandoned deep in the snowy wilderness of Plumas National Forest far from their route and with no clear explanation why they went there. As searchers uncovered eerie clues, including a remote trailer stocked with untouched supplies, the mystery only deepened. Four of the men were eventually found, but Gary Mathias was never located. Nearly 50 years later, the case of the Yuba County Five remains one of America's most haunting unsolved disappearances. Send a textA Predator with a heartbeat changes everything. We take you into Badlands, where Dek, the runt of a Yautja clan, hunts a nightmare that even his father fears, and where Thia, a synth with surprising empathy, rewrites the rules of survival. This isn't just another invisibility-cloak stalk-and-slash. It's a character-first story built on honor, trust, and a planet that wants you dead the second you step on it.We unpack how Badlands bridges Predator and Alien without feeling like homework. From Weyland-Yutani fingerprints to the chilling return of “MU / TH / UR,” the film plants canon ties that feel earned. The ecosystem is more than a backdrop: razor grass shapes armor strategy, aerial hunters weaponize the environment, and the Kalisk's regeneration forces smarter tactics. We dive into the “baby” Kalisk twist, why it works beyond cute-factor, and how it reframes Deck's mission from trophy to responsibility. Our conversation goes deep on synth morality, Thia's evolving conscience vs Tessa's corporate directives, and why giving a Predator visible emotion can expand the myth without neutering it. We call out the clean action geography, expressive creature work, and why the PG-13 rating still lands visceral impact through alien fluids, industrial carnage, and mounting dread. Then we look ahead: the final shot hints at a matriarchal reckoning, possible crossover momentum, and a sequel path that could let Predator carry the honor-and-tactics banner while Alien brings the biotech nightmares. If you're here for lore, we've got it; if you're here for a smart, modern hunt story, you'll find that too. Hit play, join the debate on Yautja culture, synth ethics, and the Kalask design, and tell us: should the Predator evolve emotionally, or stay mask-and-mystery forever? We are BACK after a quick break (sure, let's say it's Olympic related, why not), and we once again delve into all things Philadelphia Sports. Whether the public demands it or not!First - we almost live looked in at the Sixers v the Hawks after the All Star Break. And things are...not yet up to game speed for the Sixers. Maxey is starting to plateau out, PG is still suspended, Embiid has a thing with a body part...but VJ wins MVP of the Rising Stars game! That last part is really the only good news. Maybe we shoulda kept Jared McCain. I refuse to look up his solid stats and minutes played on his new team lol.NEXT - we compare the seemingly similar strife striking squads situation in South Philly. The Phils have a Dombrowski / Harper problem, and the Eagles kinda have an overall AJ Brown problem. We discuss the similarities between to the two - is it really about questionable leadership on the coaching / GM side? Or is it just entitled diva season from the players end of things? Man, I just hope we hang on to these two anchor players, because we need em if we are gonna continue our winning ways.We promise to be more upbeat next week - if the NEWS ALLOWS IT TO BE.Email: hoagiemouthpod@gmail.comIG: @hoagiemouthpod

Hell yeah indeed because, this one took a TURN.On today's daily comedy show, we kicked things off with Mother Nature threatening to fake us out with 70-degree “false spring” before immediately punching us in the face with 30-degree winter uppercuts. Classic Missouri. But that was just the appetizer.Lern went full “Old Soul Energy” and attended a green burial seminar at the Missouri Botanical Garden — yes, voluntarily — where she learned about shrouds, hydro cremation, human composting, and becoming mulch. Actual mulch. She now has a death doula's business card in her wallet and a 60-day compost rotation plan mapped out. We're one iced coffee away from her pricing out burlap sacks on Etsy.Meanwhile, Moon got philosophical about death after real-life experience, and Rizz and his wife tackled estate planning like responsible adults (boo). The conversation quickly turned into “who pulls the plug?” which somehow became a full-blown on-air game show featuring:• A $5 million bribe• A Gen Alpha-only vocabulary coma• A kidney transplant scheduled on the same day as Garth Brooks' final show• A football-sized medical emergency that required… teamwork• And the ultimate test: what would you whisper to bring Rizz back from flatlining?Yes. This daily comedy show absolutely turned end-of-life decisions into competitive entertainment. You're welcome. We also dive into King Scott's whistling antique mall stalker situation (was it security? a ghost? an aggressive harmonica enthusiast?), plus a local St. Charles story about scammers targeting a woman searching for her missing dog — which hit all of us right in the feelings. It's weird. It's emotional. It's wildly inappropriate in the most PG-13 way possible. It's exactly what a daily comedy show should be when the topic is literally mortality.Come for the green burials.Stay for the football suppository debate.Leave with a will drafted and your friends on notice.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Things Discussed: Seth on early: Ohio State has yet another former player admitting he didn't go to class. Mick Cronin doesn't record practices—he's Tom Izzo without being a good basketball coach. Seth gives a history of coaching styles, short version is the Bo/Woody/Izzo/Bear style of drill sergeant was just a post-WW2 thing that just worked in that era. Michigan tampered with [the locks that Mick Cronin puts on the dungeon] UCLA, and Xavier Booker sneaks in while it's open: ooh, more yelling! Purdue: Mackey was lit, 42-17 run after going down five early. Michigan took only one bad three; everything else was open. Purdue was the opposite, all movement. Not thruck. Matt Painter is the anti-Cronin. Explained the game so well: he helped every dive inside and forced M to hit open kickouts. Soon as they did there's nothing more to do If Mara is going to play like he did in the 1st half and Cadeau plays like he did in the 2nd half...yeesh. How would you attack Michigan? Start by pulling Mara out of the middle by going five-out, then survive their size on offense (e.g. Illinois). Duke Preview: Boozer is a suped up Yax, they have incredible length on the perimeter including a 6'8"/190 Italian they put on PGs so we're going to see if Michigan can keep up their scoring or turns it over a ton. Duke's weaknesses are you can get to the rim and get fouls on their young frontcourt, since they don't really have a backup five. Cason: best backup PG in the league? Not sure but turning a corner. Still misses a switch and doesn't have NBA spacial awareness, but he's a very valuable backup now.
In the 8am hour, Joel Embiid is injured again and Paul George is suspended. James Seltzer says Tobias Harris has been better for the Pistons than PG has been for the Sixers since joining the team. Also, Joe DeCamara discusses the upcoming basketball rubber match vs. Jack Fritz.
Is Aaron Rodgers done? Aditi told the guys yesterday that she is hearing something different than what everyone else is assuming – that Rodgers is done. And not just done with the Steelers, but done entirely. If Aditi is right, where does that leave the Steelers? If that is the case, it will be 6 different starting QBs in 6 seasons. Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray said the Steelers don't have 100% assurance that Aaron Rodgers will be back. Ray doubts we will know this time next week, but he expects there to be an answer by free agency. Ray believes the Steelers absolutely have a backup plan if Rodgers retires or chooses to play elsewhere in 2026, but isn't sure what it is. Ray confidently said Will Howard will not be the Steelers Week 1 starting QB. If Ray was in charge he would want to retool a little bit, but not completely tear things down. Total Request Thursday.
Pirates insider Jason Mackey from the PG joined the show. Jason doesn't have Konnor Griffin on his Opening Day roster projection, but said Griffin's spring performance could easily change that. Jason doesn't think the Pirates would be mad or upset if they had the easy call to play Griffin in Triple A to begin the season. More discussion as to what it will take for Griffin to break into the bigs immediately. Jason said Konnor isn't boring like some athletes can be – Mike Trout, for example. Poni was stunned to hear that Bryan Reynolds will be the starter in left field despite his defensive lapses. Jason said it feels like they are shoehorning Ryan O'Hearn into the outfield when he's more of a first baseman. Jason thinks Jared Triolo (3B) and Nick Gonzales (SS) will be the left side of their infield when the season begins.

Is Sidney Crosby going to play tomorrow for Canada? Are you OK with that if it's further risking injury and he possibly misses the rest of the Penguins season? The guys think it would be Sid trying to have his cake and eat it too after stating recently that winning a Stanley Cup means more than winning a gold medal. If that's the case, he should not play in the remainder of the Olympics. Are fans cool with Sidney Crosby playing in the rest of the Olympics if it means he could hamper the rest of the Penguins season? Pirates insider Jason Mackey from the PG joined the show. Peih-Gee Law (Survivor): The Game of Life | Pod Friends This week on Pod Friends, Matt Scott (@MattScottGW) is joined by Peih-Gee Law, co-host of Reality Escape Pod and host of PG's Playhouse, for a thoughtful and energizing conversation about reality TV, resilience, games, and building a life filled with curiosity and joy. Peih-Gee reflects on her experiences in the Survivor world, what reality television taught her about herself, and how those lessons have shaped the way she approaches life, creativity, and community today. From strategy and game theory to escape rooms and immersive experiences, Peih-Gee shares why play isn't frivolous — it's essential — especially during challenging moments in life. Matt and Peih-Gee also talk about pushing forward through setbacks, defining success on your own terms, cultivating happiness through curiosity and creativity, and the surprising ways games can teach us about resilience, connection, and purpose. Along the way, they explore Survivor fandom, puzzle-solving, wordplay, and even the possibility of Survivor 50. If you've ever wondered what games can teach us about life — or how to keep moving forward while staying playful — this episode is for you. Big news! Pod Friends now has t-shirts! Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (2025) might be one of the most toothless horror sequels of the decade – and yes, this movie kinda sucks. In this episode of The Cinema Psycho Show, we dive into the messy lore dump, the bloodless PG‑13 kills, the bizarre FazFest setup, and why Toy Chica somehow ends up being the star of the show for all the wrong reasons. We also talk about: The opening Charlotte flashback, useless 80s parents, and the Marionette Abby's home and school life, plus the world's worst science teacher Mike as a guardian, generational trauma, and the total lack of therapy The "Call me Michael" reveal and whether this works at all if you're not deep into FNAF lore If you're a Five Nights at Freddy's fan, a horror nerd, or you just enjoy listening to two exhausted millennials suffer through bad IP movies so you don't have to, this one's for you. In which the Mister joins me in reviewing TRAIN DREAMS (2025), from writers Clint Bentley and Greg Kwedar and based on Denis Johnson's novella, the film is directed by Clint Bentley. Robert Grainier (Joel Edgerton) is a soft-spoken laborer helping to carve the railroad through the rugged wilderness of the early 20th-century Pacific Northwest. After building a modest life and starting a family with his wife Gladys (Felicity Jones) in a remote cabin, Robert's world is shattered by a devastating, "once-in-a-century" wildfire that forces him into a life of profound isolation. The film follows his subsequent decades of survival and reflection as he navigates a rapidly modernizing America, haunted by the memories of his past and the mystical, untamed spirit of the woods. The film clocks in at 1 h and 42 m, is rated PG-13 and is currently streaming on Netflix. It's limbs in the studio as a box of brownies and a couple of books have lifted Elis out of a funk. What great news for bookworms with low blood sugar. But the internal glucose alarm isn't the only one going off as a fire alert causes chaos. We also get psychological as the boys unpick the idea of the inner monologue, and with that the terrifying engine steering John under the bonnet. Would Freud enjoy this? Potentially. Would it frighten him? Almost certainly. And from brains to bodies, the show gets panned as the least erotic thing possible, whilst we have a couple of fantastically zoological Mad Dads. It's elisandjohn@bbc.co.uk or 07974 293022 on WhatsApp if you've got any comments on the above. But please nothing too close to the erotic bone. Keep it PG.

On this episode of The Drive & Dish NBA Podcast, hosted by Kevin Rafuse (@rafusetolose) and Justin Cousart (@JustinContheAir), Kevin is joined by Sam B. Albuquerque (@sambalbuquerque) to break down a busy trade deadline. First, Kevin puts on his homer hat though and breaks down Paul George's 25 game suspension and the Sixers trading Jared McCain to OKC. Why Kevin and Sam think the PG suspension is not the end of the world, but why the McCain trade is a disaster. After the break, Jaren Jackson Jr. is officially shut down for the season after being traded to the Jazz. What this signals for a Grizzlies rebuild and a larger tanking race signal from Utah. Plus, why Utah came out of left to make this move. Next, Anthony Davis is headed to Washington to team up with Trae Young and the new look Wizards. Does this move make sense now? Then, a major swap between the Clippers and Cavaliers as James Harden and Darius Garland swap places. Why the Clippers made this move despite a turn around and if this makes the Cavaliers true contenders. Plus, a few quick hitters with the Bulls and red hot Hornets making moves. Pirates insider Jason Mackey from the PG joined the show. Jason is taking in the early workouts in Bradenton after pitchers and catchers reported yesterday. Nick Castellanos just got released by the Phillies, but Jason does not anticipate the Pirates having any interest there. Jason does not think talks have begun between the Pirates and Konnor Griffin on a contract extension. Jason guessed it would need to be close to the Roman Anthony deal with the Red Sox, which was worth $130M total. Jason said there is a ‘very good chance' Griffin is on the Opening Day roster and he will have every opportunity throughout the spring, similar to Jared Jones, to prove it. Jason said there are no questions defensively for Griffin and he can play a mix of shortstop and outfield. Jason is a little less optimistic that the Pirates will sign a left-handed pitcher before the season begins. He projected that they have ‘maybe a half dozen' options at 3B outside of the organization. Jason has the Pirates as an 84-85 win team right now.
Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray has released his first Steelers mock draft and has them trading up to select Jordyn Tyson to add a WR to the room early. Ray thinks the Steelers could double-down at WR on the first two nights of the draft. Ray went through his middle rounds of the draft and how the Steelers could utilize their abundance of picks. Ray has the Steelers using their final pick on a QB, so not one to threaten the future. Ray said Mason Rudolph would be the odd-man-out if the Steelers do take a QB in late April. Ray shared his thoughts on the finalized coaching staff under Mike McCarthy, which is a bigger staff than anything we ever saw under Mike Tomlin. How many guys due for second contracts will get one? Ray still doesn't think the TJ Watt contract was a mistake because the salary cap continues to go up. Ray doesn't think Isaac Seumalo is back unless the Steelers give him a raise. Is Dylan Cook going to get a real shot to start at left tackle next season?
Sidney Crosby has begun his quest for a third Olympic gold medal as Canada blanked Czechia, 5-0 earlier today. Poni had a big question for people in Pittsburgh – are you rooting for the United States or Canada? It sounds silly, but a recent poll showed that 40% of Penguins fans are rooting for 87 to win another gold. Team USA doesn't have anyone from the Penguins current roster, but it has a former coach and Stanley Cup champion in charge. Mullsy got annoyed late in the segment and decided he would also root for Canada and Crosby. Do callers want Team USA hockey to win gold or another one for Sidney Crosby and Canada? One wild man said he wouldn't care if Crosby broke his leg in the games. Pirates insider Jason Mackey from the PG joined the show. 30+ years beyond the fact, a former Steelers OL that never played in a regular season game called out Neil O'Donnell for ‘throwing' Super Bowl XXX. Emerson Martin believes O'Donnell ‘took a dive' in the biggest game. Chris said he's never heard someone suggest that. The guys think it's a tinfoil hat theory. Three Operating Principles from This Conversation 1. White space is now dynamic, not staticWhite space used to be analyzed every 18 months. Today, Ryan is seeing strategy cycles compress to quarterly—or even monthly—reviews. Not because leaders love churn, but because technology and culture are moving too fast for set-and-forget thinking.White space isn't always a massive blue ocean. More often, it's a small, highly specific intersection of your value proposition, your customer's real needs, and what you can actually execute well, right now. 2. AI works best when it supports judgment — not when it replaces itRyan offers one of the clearest, most useful frames I've heard for AI and small business:Don't ask AI for big, sweeping answers.Ask it a series of small questions you can common-sense check, and let those answers ladder up.This takes longer. It requires thinking. And it keeps humans in the loop. That matters because for a small business, one AI mistake isn't annoying; it's expensive. One missed email, one misrouted opportunity, one wrong automation can cost real money.Interestingly, Ryan is also seeing large corporations pull back from “AI everywhere” toward controlled automation and fixed workflows. The lesson? We're not at the point where we can responsibly turn everything over, and pretending we are is risky. 3. Community is now a strategic advantageRyan makes a compelling case that small business owners should be in their local business community at least once every two weeks, not to network performatively, but to gut-check reality, compare notes, and stay human. Some of the most valuable insights right now are coming from people with just a few years of experience, because they're in it, learning fast, and willing to share what's actually working. You never stop learning. And you don't need decades of experience to contribute. You just need a clear point of view and an open mind. The Bigger PictureDespite uncertainty, Ryan is seeing more optimism in business than he has in years. Not blind optimism, earned optimism. As he puts it, we have more control than we realized last year. But control only matters if we use it.This is a conversation about:Staying human in an increasingly automated worldUsing powerful tools wisely instead of stupidlyShowing up—locally, imperfectly, consistently—for the world we want to createWe're the ones we've been waiting for. Monique Rodriguez, Founder & CEO of Mielle Organics, shares how a hobby in her kitchen became a global haircare brand and the highest exit of any Black woman in history. After the devastating loss of her son, Monique turned to social media and haircare as an outlet for grief. What began as sharing homemade recipes online evolved into a business built on real connection that took over the natural hair space. Within months of launching, she left her nursing career. Within five years, she faced a $2M financial hole that nearly cost her everything. In this conversation, Monique opens up about betting on herself before she felt ready, building without mentors, mismanaging early capital, walking away from a 40% investment deal, and ultimately securing the right partner. Her story is a grounded look at what it really takes to scale through pain, risk, faith, and battle-tested business lessons. Key Takeaways and Topics Turning personal grief into creative purpose Building community before building product Leaving nursing to go all in on a kitchen hobby $300K in year one with no business background Skipping the playbook and trusting her gut Bootstrapping for six years before raising capital The $2M accounting mistake that almost ended everything Walking away from a 40% equity deal Finding the right investor (and why it's like dating) The P&G acquisition and the backlash that followed Why she reframes "selling out" as building Black wealth Links The Failure Factor Podcast was brought to you by Off The Field Coaching. Sworn to Justice (1996) was chosen by friend of the show and Patreon supporter Leigh, and is a prime example of mid-90s direct-to-video action thrillers built around martial arts credentials and late-night cable appeal. Produced by PM Entertainment — a studio known for churning out low-budget, high-concept action films — the movie was designed specifically for the booming VHS rental market rather than theatrical release. Director Paul Maslak leaned into the studio's house style: fast-paced action, neon-lit cityscapes, and a blend of crime, thriller, and exploitation elements. The film was shot quickly and economically, typical of PM's efficient production model, which prioritized practical stunts and tight schedules over polish or prestige. The production's biggest selling point was its lead, Cynthia Rothrock, already a well-established martial arts star with multiple Hong Kong and American action credits. Her real-life fighting background allowed the filmmakers to stage fight scenes with minimal doubles, keeping the choreography grounded and physical. Filming took place largely around Los Angeles, using recognizable streets and interiors to stretch the budget while maintaining a contemporary urban feel. Like many PM Entertainment titles, Sworn to Justice found its audience through home video, cable rotation, and word of mouth, eventually earning cult status among fans of 90s action cinema and martial arts B-movies. Today, it's remembered as a quintessential slice of direct-to-video action filmmaking — scrappy, stylish, and unapologetically of its era.Checkout Leigh on The Movie Vent.If you enjoy the show and would like to support us, we have a Patreon here.Referral links also help out the show if you were going to sign up:NordVPNNordPassTrailer Guy Plot SummaryA city drowning in crime… a system that's failed… and one woman who's had enough. When the law can't protect the innocent, justice goes underground. Trained to fight, driven by vengeance, and armed with nothing but her fists and her will, one relentless warrior takes the streets by storm — tearing through criminals, conspiracies, and anyone foolish enough to stand in her way.*Sworn to Justice* — no badge… no backup… no mercy.Fun FactsSworn to Justice is often categorized as an “erotic thriller meets martial arts action” hybrid, a niche genre that was surprisingly popular in the mid-1990s video market. The film was released during the peak VHS rental era, when action titles like this regularly outperformed small theatrical releases in video stores.Cynthia Rothrock performs nearly all of her own fight choreography, showcasing authentic Tang Soo Do and karate techniques rather than stylized wire work. The movie blends martial arts with noir-style detective elements, giving it a darker tone compared to Rothrock's earlier Hong Kong films.Several supporting cast members were real stunt performers, which helped make the fight scenes feel more physical and less choreographed. The film developed a late-night cable TV following on networks like USA Network and HBO Zone throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s.Rothrock fans often rank this among her most “adult-oriented” American roles, marking a tonal shift from her earlier PG-13 action vehicles. The movie features a synth-heavy 90s action score, typical of direct-to-video thrillers of the era.Collectors consider original VHS and DVD releases of the film minor cult items within martial arts movie circles.thevhsstrikesback@gmail.comhttps://linktr.ee/vhsstrikesback
Does the Marcell Ozuna signing make the Pirates a legit threat in the NL Central? Are they better than the Brewers, Cubs and/or Reds? Poni thinks they are a team that should win games in the mid-80s, which could mean a postseason berth. Where does Ozuna fit into this lineup? And what does that lineup look like? Are the Pirates a playoff team? Do callers think the Pirates can make the playoffs? PG columnist Noah Hiles joined the show. Noah formerly covered the Pirates for the PG and still takes part in a baseball podcast. Noah isn't sure how all of these pieces fit in the Pirates lineup after signing Marcell Ozuna to a 1-year deal earlier today. Noah said Ozuna is unquestionably a better player than Andrew McCutchen. He said the offense is better, but pitching still has to lead the way with a defense that isn't good. Noah thinks keeping Jared Triolo in the lineup is important for what he provides on defense alone. Noah wants the Pirates to add a utilityman and another pitcher because it's still a group of mostly unproven guys. Noah doesn't know if the Pirates are ‘much better' than a 75-win team. Noah suggested Mark Vientos being the final acquisition, but he would add to the crew of bad defensive players.
