I was sort of in the virtual presence of excellence with the legendary actress Susan Lanier from Wes Craven's “The Hills Have Eyes” (1977). I must admit that I was star-struck (again) and I am not sure why I keep having that issue. However, it was an absolute honor and pleasure to speak to her about her role in the classic horror. Talking to her about her past and current roles was nothing but enlightening; talking about some behind-the-scenes secrets and how hard it was to film in the desert despite the hot and cold conditions. As austere as the environment can be, she sure as hell pulled it off, which makes me respect her a whole lot more. Susan and I also discussed how to be a successful actress; you have to give it all, your 100% in order to make yourself stand out. In my opinion, I can tell by an actor's body language if they want to be there or not. Any budding actors out there need to listen to Susan's advice. Make sure to follow Susan on social media, Facebook and Instagram. She also acts in the movie Black Mass alongside Lisa Wilcox, Jeremy London, Lew Temple, Devanny Pinn, and a lot more renowned actors. There is a movie in post-production called “The Boatyard” that she also stars in, be sure to check out the trailer and support Susan. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/southjerseyhorror/message

It’s Week 2 of our Tro-March collaboration with Damn, That’s Scary! Podcast, and this week we’re featuring the Troma distributed (but not created) Rabid Grannies. Join all four Slasher goons as we discuss all the goey, gory fun of Grannies gorging on their ungrateful relatives (my alliteration skills are something to be envied). We talk about the somewhat deceptive title and whether demonology can count as hydrophobia (rabies). Filmed in Belgium at the Ingelmunster Castle in 1988 and written and directed by Emmanuel Kervyn, this is a dark, gritty take on a possession horror film. While this is not an Uncle Lloyd Troma film, it has its moments. Find out why you need to see this uncut and some of our favorite comedic moments, as well as why Mr. Bean, Bill Murray, Ghostbusters 2, Angelica Huston, Witches and Stephen King are completely appropriate topics for this discussion. In addition, we have a kick ass interview with Lew Temple, who you may know from The Walking Dead, Devil’s Rejects, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, 31 and a million other things. Truly, Lew is one of Jake's favorite interviews of all time. He is incredibly mindful, candid, and informative regarding his multiple careers, which lead him to the stage and silver screen. Be sure to stay tuned through the end to see what Damn, That's Scary! thought of the film and then head on over to their channel to see what we think of the film they are reviewing this week. To mark the fifth anniversary of his first appearance on the podcast, onetime minor league scout-turned-actor Lew Temple re-joins the boys to talk about how he's been keeping busy during our “societal pause”, that time he bought (and shared!) a drink with Hank Aaron, his friendship with the man who gave up the former home run champ's record-tying bomb, how the late-Bob Watson inadvertently got him started in Hollywood and led to hanging out with Charlie Sheen and playing catch with a young Matthew McConaughey.

Lew Temple was born October 2, 1967 and is an American film actor, perhaps best known for his roles as Axel on "The Walking Dead," the character of Ned Oldham in the action adventure thriller, "Unstoppable" which also starred Denzel Washington, Chris Pine and Rosario Dawson; directed by Tony Scott, and Cal the diner manager in the comedy-drama "Waitress." Born and raised in the Bayou Country of Louisiana, Temple is an extraordinarily diverse actor who often is compared to a chameleon: he has the unique ability to take any character and make it his own. Other film credits include the ranger, Hollis in the summer, 2013 Disney blockbuster "The Lone Ranger," alongside Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer; Locus Fender in the action film "Domino," starring Kiera Knightley and Mickey Rourke, directed by Tony Scott and Rob Zombie's "The Devil's Rejects" with Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, William Forsythe, and Sherri Moon Zombie. Scottie Thompson grew up performing as a ballet dancer. She transitioned into her acting career when she landed a recurring role on the Showtime series "Brotherhood" after graduating from Harvard University with a degree in Performance Studies. She has gone on to continue working in various television shows, films and independent films. In addition to TV’s “Twelve Monkeys”, Thompson recently completed filming the supernatural fantasy “Limbo
