If we think about the economic effects of President Donald Trumps big taxing and spending and domestic policy bill, we can roughly sum it up in one line. It goes something like this: We will make many big tax cuts permanent and pay for those tax cuts by cutting Medicaid and a few other things and also...by borrowing money. A lot of money. Even more than we've already been borrowing over the past twenty years. (And that was already a lot, too!) Today: simple arithmetic with profound ramifications. Tax cuts, spending cuts, and whether they balance out. (Spoiler: no.) We look under the hood to see how all this is calculated. Are we truly the freest country when it comes to speech - or are we just better at hiding the censorship? In this episode of The Brian Nichols Show, we dig deep into the reality of free speech in America versus the rest of the world - and it's probably not what you've been told. From corporate collusion during COVID to the dangerous misuse of "antisemitism" as a political weapon, this conversation isn't just timely - it's urgent. Studio Sponsor: Cardio Miracle - "Unlock the secret to a healthier heart, increased energy levels, and transform your cardiovascular fitness like never before.": CardioMiracle.com/TBNS Why do we protect offensive speech in the first place? Is there real value in letting unpopular or even "unsavory" opinions into the public square? Gary Frankel, a policy researcher and fierce defender of civil liberties, joins me to unpack America's First Amendment uniqueness - and whether that protection is really as ironclad as we think. But it's not all sunshine and freedom. We explore how both the left and the right are increasingly playing the censorship game - not always with government power, but with cultural influence and legal threats. And yes, we hit the hypocrisy of Big Media being "brought to you by Pfizer" while telling you what information is safe to consume. We also zoom out globally - from the UK's criminalization of Facebook posts to Poland's cultural pushback - and compare how nations handle speech when cultures collide. Spoiler alert: Europe is 0-for-2 on protecting liberty. This is a no-BS, common-sense breakdown of where free speech really stands. If you value open dialogue, healthy disagreement, and freedom from government-mandated narratives, this is the episode you need to hear. ❤️ Order Cardio Miracle (CardioMiracle.com/TBNS) for 15% off and take a step towards better heart health and overall well-being!

And is attachment really such a bad thing? (Spoiler: it's not. And Court's going to tell us why.) If you've ever struggled with mixed signals, perfectionism, hookup fatigue, or fear of intimacy, this one's going to reframe the way you think about dating and connection. In this pilot episode, I share why I've decided to speak out after living a triple life that nobody could believe - simultaneously working as an NYPD officer, Chippendales dancer, and celebrity bodyguard. Recent events, including someone I used to dance with testifying in the Diddy case, changed everything. You'll hear about my first private investigation case - going undercover as a male escort to catch a criminal extorting a high-powered woman. I literally put myself on escort websites and almost got plastic surgery to look like Ron Jeremy to nail this guy. I'll also share what it was really like working with Kanye West, including having to listen to him defend Bill Cosby in my car. Spoiler alert: he's exactly what you think he is. Unlike other true crime podcasts that rehash decades-old cases, Bulletproof focuses on active celebrity investigations happening right now. Inside this episode, I'm breaking down: Why your obsession with the scale is tanking your results What it actually means to change your body composition The 12–16-week fat loss phase (and why you should treat it like a season, not a lifestyle) Why that 1–2 lb per week “rule” is total trash How to wade into fat loss like a rockstar (without mourning your almond butter) Plus, you'll get the real scoop on why slashing calories, skipping meals, and fasting your face off is the exact opposite of what your perimenopausal body needs. Spoiler: There is a better way. And it starts by finally stop bullying your body and start to treat it like the partner it is. In an industry obsessed with specs, megapixels, and the latest mirrorless marvels, it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that your photos will only be as good as your gear. But let's set the record straight: you do not need the newest camera on the market to create high-quality, compelling images. The true power of a photograph lies not in its resolution—but in the person behind the lens. In this episode of the podcast, we're diving into the myth that better gear automatically leads to better photos. Yes, having the right tools for the job matters—but far too often, photographers get caught up in a cycle of gear envy, believing that the latest model will suddenly make them better artists. Spoiler alert: it won't. Creativity, understanding of light, composition, and the ability to connect with your subject are all far more important than any spec sheet. We share stories of incredible images shot on so-called “outdated” equipment, including photographers who have created award-winning work with entry-level DSLRs or even smartphone cameras. It's a reminder that limitations can actually spark innovation. When you stop relying on the camera to “wow,” and instead rely on your eye and your instincts, your photography improves in leaps and bounds. Plus, let's talk about the financial side of this. Chasing gear is expensive. That money could be better spent investing in education, portfolio-building experiences, or maybe even a relaxing weekend that helps refill your creative cup. There's nothing wrong with upgrading when it's truly needed—but constant upgrades won't make up for gaps in skill or vision. At the end of the day, your camera is just a tool—like a paintbrush to a painter or a pen to a writer. It's how you use it that matters most. So before you hit “add to cart” on that shiny new body, ask yourself: do you need more megapixels—or just more practice? Tune in to this episode and be reminded that your greatest photography asset isn't in your bag—it's in your head and heart. Support The Nerdy Photographer Want to help The Nerdy Photographer Podcast? In this week's episode we're answering one of YOUR questions with a combination of expert tips and personal experience.  The Question: "I'm in my mid-20s now, but I still feel like my breakup from high school is affecting the way I show up in relationships. Like… my attachment style, my trust issues, the way I react when someone pulls away. It all kind of traces back to that first heartbreak. Shouldn't I be over it by now? It feels silly sometimes, but it also feels so real. Am I broken or is this just… a thing?" What We Cover in This Episode: The breakup that still haunts you (yes, that one). We revisit the heartbreaks that shaped us and why your pain from that relationship is still valid. Why your younger self didn't need to “know better." A compassionate reframe for those moments when you look back and think, “Why didn't I know better?” (Spoiler: it wasn't your job to know. It was your job to do the best you could with what you had.) Validation is not weakness—it's healing. We talk about why needing to feel seen in your pain isn't dramatic, it's human. Unpacking what breakups really bring up (hint: it's not just about your ex). From attachment wounds to trust issues, we explore how heartbreak echoes in other areas of life. How to offer yourself the compassion you never got. Step-by-step reflections on how to talk to yourself like someone you deeply care about. Letting go with grace and a little bit of rage. We normalize the complexity of closure and what it actually takes to move forward. Creating rituals that honor your healing. Whether it's a playlist, a letter, or a literal ceremony, we explore ways to mark the end of a chapter. Why your sadness makes sense. A gentle reminder that you don't have to defend or downplay your grief—especially when no one else understood it at the time. Sleepover is pure Y2K chaos, and the No More Late Fees crew is here for all of it! This week, Danielle celebrates her birthday by dragging Jackie (a Sleepover newbie!) through the glittery madness of the 2004 teen comedy Sleepover—complete with bedazzled thongs, illegal scavenger hunts, and more plot holes than a pair of low-rise jeans. Joined by actress and nostalgia queen Gabi Whiting, the trio hilariously dissects a film that asks the age-old question: what happens when you mix underage driving, Steve Carell in a security uniform, and a quest for the “cool table”? Spoiler: absolutely unhinged fun. From bizarre casting what-ifs (Jim Carrey as a rent-a-cop?) to a deep dive into early 2000s fashion, teen movie tropes, and those oh-so-cringe adult-student dynamics, this episode is a glitter-filled fever dream you didn't know you needed. Come for the cult classic chaos, stay for the sharp commentary, retro vibes, and Danielle's unapologetic love for a movie that made exactly zero sense—and that's exactly why we love it.
