Pain Relief and Faster Healing For Over 40 Fitness Click Here for a FREE 15 min Zoom Consultation With Brad: Over 40 Fitness Hacks Facebook Group Martin Pytela - Metabolic Typing Coach Life Enthusiast Podcast www.life-enthusiast.com In the podcast episode, Brad Williams of Over 40 Fitness interviews Martin Pytela from Life Enthusiast, discussing various aspects of pain management and healing. Martin explains that pain is a symptom of inflammation, which has five symptoms: redness, heat, swelling, pain, and loss of function. Inflammation can be acute, such as from an injury or overtraining, and can be managed with ice to reduce pain or heat to speed up healing. He highlights the importance of systemic enzymes, like serrapeptase and natokinase, which help repair muscle tissue faster by breaking down fibrin, a scar tissue component. This can allow athletes to recover more quickly from workouts. Martin also addresses chronic pain and inflammation, emphasizing the need for enzymes, magnesium, and collagen for overall health and quicker repair. Chronic inflammation, often stemming from issues like leaky gut, can lead to various diseases such as arthritis and diabetes. He advocates for a combination of nutritional supplements, including boron for connective tissue health and silica for flexibility. Martin shares anecdotal evidence of individuals who have significantly benefited from enzyme supplementation, noting that these supplements help maintain a youthful, pain-free state even in older age. He also discusses the role of calcium and magnesium in maintaining flexibility and the importance of preventing chronic inflammation for overall health. Towards the end of the interview, Brad and Martin discuss their coaching methods, highlighting the use of online platforms like Zoom for consultations and TrueCoach software for workout plans and form correction. Martin offers comprehensive health programs through his website, Life Enthusiast, which includes a team of coaches specializing in herbalism, nutrition, and physiotherapy to help clients achieve homeostasis and better health. The podcast concludes with Brad mentioning that Martin's contact information and website will be available in the show notes. 4o If you're interested in online personal training or being a guest on my podcast, "Over 40 Fitness Hacks," you can reach me at brad@over40fitnesshacks.com or visit my website at: www.Over40FitnessHacks.com Additionally, check out my Yelp reviews for my local business, Evolve Gym in Huntington Beach, at https://bit.ly/3GCKRzV

Her story alone will inspire and motivate you to take charge of your own life.During this talk show, you'll learn how to embrace a training and eating method that improves your health and supercharges your lifestyle. These two powerhouses will guide you through their Wonder Woman program, revealing the secrets to unlocking potential.Coach Michelle MacDonald is the founder and visionary behind The Wonder Women group. In her decade of coaching in the fitness industry, it became apparent that there was a gap between the coaching of female physique athletes versus that of lifestyle clients. This gap was especially true for women in the over 40 categories. Michelle realized that alone she could not help as many women on her own as she would with a team. In 2020, Michelle brought on three coaches and started The Wonder Women. Since then, the team has grown to a group of 10+ coaches and growing. At TWW, coaches work with lifestyle clients in a very similar manner as athletes. All clients learn how to follow macro-based nutrition plans, improve form in the gym, use progressive overload to achieve incredible results, and utilize various cardio techniques to help drive progress. There is no ‘dumbing-down' of any of the tools to create physique change. The assumption is that a woman of any age, whether she's 18 or 80, is just as capable of mastering a few simple methodologies as an athlete. She can achieve incredible success by transforming her body, and along with it, her mindset. Coaches also give clients a lot of support through weekly coaching calls, daily communication through the TrueCoach app, personalized feedback on workouts daily, and weekly check-ins. At TWW, coaches know their clients and take the utmost pride in helping them achieve their personalized goals. Whether you are an absolute beginner with limitations or a more advanced athlete, TWW coaches have you covered. TWW coaches also have a wide range of programming, from bodyweight and bands to barbells and machine work. They can tailor your workouts based on your specific fitness and performance goals, travel schedule, and equipment list. TWW coaches specialize in taking beginners and helping them master movement patterns and strength gains through a step-by-step approach to programming. If you're an advanced athlete, we will help you get even better! These are our core beliefs and mission that drive our coaching and platform:We believe in women empowering women. We believe that the female body can thrive at any age. It does not matter if you are 18 or 80. You can still live your best life through abundance, health, and wellness. We believe intelligent, outcome-based coaching is the correct way to guide women. Women are brilliant, so there is no need to dumb things down. We also believe in looking at all data to correctly guide and coach each woman to her full genetic potential. We believe in macro-based nutrition customized to the individual. We are all different, and we do not believe that the same plan works for everyone or every goal.We believe in educating our clients about their bodies and how they work so that women are confident and empowered to take care of their bodies. We believe in integrity, truth, and honest introspection. In this episode, I sat down with Coach Matt Pincus to talk about his infamous “checklist” that he uses when he's projecting a route (or a boulder – but usually routes). As a coach, often Matt's job is less about creating strength training programs and more about using tactics to get people up their projects in an efficient way. He's found that he's been having a lot of conversations with clients lately about how to approach their route projects, now that it's climbing season in a lot of places. This episode is dedicated to helping people approach hard projects (and sometimes even not-so-hard projects) to help keep yourself motivated and on the trajectory to a send. Matt uses a checklist of links and accomplishments he wants to make on a route before the final checkbox of sending. He shares how he creates that list, depending on what kind of route it is. He also talks about the following: A couple examples of his own project checklists 3 things he sees people do wrong while projecting Planning your climbing day efficiently Top down vs ground-up When to start being tactical on a route When to start giving redpoint burns   Show Links Train with Coach Matt Pincus How to Approach Routes Systematically: Top Down or Ground Up – Article by Matt Podcast Episode 134: The Principles of Projecting with Matt Article on Projecting Principles by Matt   Train with Matt Pincus If you want Matt to help you with your own goals, whether they're with bouldering or route climbing, he's available for month-long commitments where he'll talk with you over zoom and create a program for you and keep in touch with you via the TrueCoach app throughout the month. He mentions that he started as a trainer at a gym when he was 32. ●      Prior to that, he had worked in various industries, including owning a nightclub and working in the banking and casino industry. ●      Andrew also talks about his philosophy of giving and supporting others in the industry, which has led to many opportunities for him, including public speaking and hosting events. ●      Andrew talks about the prevalence of great strength coaches coming out of Canada.   [09:31 - 23:15] Fitness Basics and Mindset ●      Andrew talks about how he prefers to focus on the basics of fitness and avoid controversy or polarization in the media. ●      He emphasizes the importance of getting more people into gyms and lifting weights for better health. ●      He also encourages others to focus on being helpful and sharing important ideas rather than getting caught up in arguments with those who are not receptive to positive training and nutritional ideas. ●      Andrew enumerates what people are missing, in terms of basics, that can use them in long-term ○      People are afraid of lifting weights because of their lack of knowledge and fear of injury. ○      People get overwhelmed with what they're supposed to do, and they become paralyzed by constantly consuming information instead of actually applying it. ○      People tend to seek quick results and quick fixes, which is just human nature.   [23:16 - 29:36] Strength Training for Long-Term Fat Loss ●      Andrew believes that building strength and muscle should be the highest goal for people in the gym instead of just focusing on fat loss. ●      Strength and muscle building tend to go hand in hand concurrently, especially if you eat in a slight calorie surplus. ●      Building more strength and muscle is excellent for fat loss and keeping fat off in the medium to long term. ●      Strength training boosts metabolism, helps in muscle recovery, and burns more calories while at rest.   [29:36 - 46:22] Closing Segment ●      He believes that while some are drawn to tough love approaches like 75 Hard, it's ineffective for most people. ●      He is also okay with different types of messaging and methods because different people have different needs and preferences. ●      A sustainable pace and approach to working out and nutrition is better than an unsustainable one to avoid setting oneself up to fail. ●      Andrew categorizes food into healthy, non-negotiable treats and high-calorie convenience food and sets boundaries around the foods you enjoy.     Key Quotes:   “My favorite response to anything long form short form is I needed this today and it tells me I'm on the right track with an important message.” - Andrew Coates     “Medium term, long term building more strength, building more muscle is phenomenal for fat loss and keeping fat off.” - Andrew Coates   “75 hard is fine. It's not for most people, it's understanding that messaging and method are gonna be different for different people.” - Andrew Coates   “One of my favorite attitudes at nutrition is not to fucking clean up everything so that we are perfect. This idea of practicality is the driving force behind Athletic Performance University, an 8-week online mentorship program. The goal of the program is to ensure that students are equipped and prepared to enter the field of coaching, personal training, and fitness. If you enjoy the episode, screenshot it and tag us on social media. Don't forget to leave a review on Apple Podcasts. We'll also discuss what to look for in a good online trainer. At the end of this episode, we'll share the 3 red flags to look for when firing your personal trainer, and give some tips for the dreaded conversation. If you're a newer trainer listening to this, you'll hopefully find some insight into how you can improve your training business and what you can be sure you include with clients when you do your initial calls. What do you think the absolute max price is (per month) for a service that offers 1 session per week with out taking the piss and over charging? Would you spend time each day following new accounts or hope that people find you through your content what is the best way to encourage clients in a group chat Do lead magnets have to be free - is there harm in a small fee to keep people accountable to it (i.e. 21-28 day challenges etc) How to retain clients after 6 month's program without feeling sleazy? Ask about how to navigate through course and use e- learning book, plus dashboard Yes homeboys. In on a Sunday. Virtual High Five. Any recommendations for resources to get a deeper understanding of exercise biomechanics? What is your advice about clients that don't engage with nutrition support or check ins /monthly reviews I've given options of a short check in (3 questions with rating on a scale) , tracking on an app, food photos, food diary and even scaling it right back to just tracking portions of protein, fruit/veg or water per day (or whatever they chose) and using a habits sheet or texting me a number at the end of the day. They can send me it by smoke signal, carrier pigeon or make a sacrifice and make a tally in blood on the gym wall, just give me something. Do I keep offering options or do I just accept they don't want this support? (It's SGPT clients so its hard to have this conversation during the sessions) I've had a SGPT client ask if she can have her price reduced next month as she can't make 2 of the sessions. If I were to reduce her price, I don't know how much I would reduce it by, as even though she can't make 2 sessions she'll still have access to Truecoach & all other aspects of the service. She is going away on a work trip and this is when she tends to slip up on her diet, so she'll still be needing support and I'll still be providing a service during this period. I do have t&c's that state I need 30 days notice in order to adjust payments, but as she is a trial member I haven't asked her to sign them yet (I may change this going forward). As I've said she'll still have access to other areas of the service and what I charge is very reasonable so I'm unsure if I should even adjust the price at all. What would be the best way to approach this situation? And if I were to reduce her price for not being able to make 2 sessions, how would I work that out? Thanks

If someone enquires and wants to know prices straight away, is there ways we can show plenty of value before and during the consultation? How can I phrase questions in a client feedback survey, so that I get critical feedback on what I can do better? How to start to promote online coaching Please can you give me your thoughts on tracking conversations. When tracking daily 'conversations' I'm guessing I only track the conversations I have with leads I want to have continuous conversation with and then maybe sell to. Is that correct? If the conversation with a lead is a NO GO (not my fit / not my niche / bit of a tit) I am guessing I don't track that one and move on. Thanks I have watched the small group training webinar. I am going to give my clients access to Truecoach so they have access to workouts out with their sessions. Is it ok to give all clients the same program to follow? Or should they all follow different ones? I was planning on giving them all the same plan with instructions on how to personalise it, any thoughts? How to create phycological safety for clients? I feel one of my clients is under reporting her food, she sends me what she eats daily, when I see her calorie it's like 1000 kcal, but she is loosing weight at a very slow rate, ( she is overweight) I asked her few times if she's consuming anything else, or probably not tracking everything, she said she's 100 honest. She used to binge eat before, I'm concerned she is not being 100% honest with me. Fuck me! Check this out. Done on a Sunday. Calm down lads. On a serious note though, as I write this, I'm struggling a bit as I feel my retention/churn is poor. This is making me a bit paranoid that I'm not delivering on something within the service. Feedback is always good, which adds to the feeling that something is amiss. How can I encourage solid honest feedback that will help me build a better service? Cheers.

Im struggling to think of content to put in my newsletter that doesnt take an hour to write. I used to do 'exercise of the week' but this took too long to write. How long should a weekly newsletter be? What are the best KPI's to track and measure? Is it normal to lose clients when you make changes to improve your service? I've really upped my game this month, made a video explaining all the extra stuff they will be getting. and within an hour of my video i had consistent regular clients say they dont feel it's for them / cant continue to pt at this time... Is it normal for clients not to share the same excitement / vision for the service they are paying for? How to set up a pre consultation? And what sort pf questions should I ask? Anything to put in place for planning for future with cost of living etc. Best ways/practices to manage the emotions of running a business. How do you define a CTA and how many should you have What's one piece of advice you'd give your younger self starting out in the industry? I use Truecaoch for programming, check ins and communication etc and I also have a private facebook group for all my 1-2-1 online PT Clients. For my 6weeks programme which I'm launching this month, I'm thinking of Using WhatsApp and the same Private Facebook group. I will not be using Truecoach so all check in forms and support can be through whatsApp however I have not done it this way before. Do I have anything to worry about or consider? Thanks Sam
