How deep can birth take you when you fully surrender to the mystery? In this episode, I sit down with Mimilia—mother of four and a recent graduate of our MatriBirth Mentor Institute. Her story is a breathtaking journey through four radically different births, each one deepening her trust, sharpening her discernment, and calling her closer to truth. We begin with her first birth: newly single, choosing freebirth in her homeland of Puerto Rico, and awakening to her own power in the most unexpected of settings. From there, Mimilia shares the simple beauty of freebirthing in a tipi in the Colorado mountains, before taking a surprising detour—hiring a licensed midwife for her third birth. But it's her fourth birth that brings it all home: the culmination of her path through sovereignty, surrender, and self-responsibility. This episode is a mirror, a medicine story, and an invitation to reflect on what birth reveals when we are ready to listen.Inside this episode:What it's like to leave a relationship mid-pregnancy and return to your homelandWhat it looks like to birth in a tipi—with a handmade altar and a bucket of waterWhy hiring a midwife for her third birth helped her understand what kind of birth keeper she would beHow birth exposed the subtle and chronic ways she'd been abandoning herselfWhat it takes to face birth without flinching—and let it break you openWhy having her children witness birth became a sacred part of the journeyHow MMI helped her embody her calling as a woman, a mother, and a birth keeperThis one is intimate, wild, and deeply instructive. #333: Lacey Tisch was born with a rare congenital syndrome that causes a slew of medical setbacks, some of which continue to affect her health today. Throughout the years, she received many external treatments. Seven years ago, she began dealing with medical PTSD...a result of years of being poked and prodded by doctors to “fix” her. The medical PTSD was exacerbated by being unhappy in her job and actively engaging in her alcoholism. She could not figure out a way forward. After getting sober, Lacey wanted to find remedies that didn't require taking medication or having procedures. She developed a major interest in exploring wellness. Lauren Zucker is a dancer, and lifelong fitness and wellness enthusiast, who spent two decades working in the music and talent management industries. Lauren always thought her life would be lived linearly, that things would go according to a certain plan that included work, marriage, and kids. And then, life happened. Several people close to her were struggling with addiction and were in denial about it. She was also going through a painful divorce. After years of trying to ‘fix' and help others, she realized, ultimately, she could only change herself. She made the decision to fully commit to her own path of healing. This sparked curiosity about all things self-development, healing, and wellness. She met with practitioners and self-discovery experts all over the world in search of peace and happiness, reaching the conclusion that a sense of community and connecting with like-minded people was the most integral part of her healing journey. Topics discussed:Different self-care and wellness practices to focus on, especially during difficult times in lifeEasiest way to make decisions in life, especially when it comes to big ones like divorce or breakupsHow Lauren and Lacey individually navigated their divorces in their 30s and overcoming the hardshipsThe origin of Sage + Sound and how hardships brought them to wellness and self-development, and ultimately creating a community and space like Sage + SoundTruth about "balancing it all" as women and removing the narrative that you can't embody all the things you want to beHow to be mindful about who you choose as your life partnerEnjoy 10% off your entire purchase of any podcast merchandise with code "WHATFULFILLSYOU10" at www.whatfulfillsyou.comFollow Sage + Sound NYC on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sageandsoundnycFollow the What Fulfills You? He shares insights from Atomic Habits by James Clear and the philosophy of "Kaizen"—continuous improvement. Key Topics Covered: ✔️ The Power of 1% Daily Improvement: Small, intentional actions create a compounding effect over time. ✔️ The Importance of Perspective: Real change happens when we see things differently, not just when we're told what to do. ✔️ Slowing Down to Reflect: Taking time to pause and assess where we are and where we want to be. ✔️ The Three Key Areas of Growth: Health & Energy Relationships (including the relationship with yourself) Wealth, Work & Service ✔️ The Gap Between Where You Are & Where You Want to Be: How to bridge that gap through small daily investments. ✔️ Overcoming Resistance to Change: Why we naturally avoid difficult things and how to push past initial discomfort. ✔️ The Power of Starting: Once you start, momentum makes it harder to stop. Action Steps: ✅ Pick One Area – Choose one part of your life (health, relationships, or work) to invest 14 minutes and 24 seconds in each day. ✅ Commit to Small Steps – Focus on small, consistent changes instead of overwhelming transformations. ✅ Get Started Today – Don't wait for motivation; action creates momentum. ✅ Join the Conversation – Share your biggest takeaway from this episode in the Mi365 WhatsApp group Resources & Links:
In this episode, I explore the concept of soft strength—a way to hold boundaries, advocate for yourself, and navigate difficult situations without aggression or emotional dysregulation. Too often, women are labeled as “too much” when they stand up for themselves or “people pleasers” when they don't. But there's a middle ground: a way to be strong without force, and firm without anger. I share personal experiences, client insights, and practical strategies to help you step into your power while staying true to yourself.Timestamps & Key Takeaways:[00:00 - 02:00] IntroductionHow the idea of soft strength came up in my coaching and content creation processStrength doesn't always have to be aggressive—there are different ways to embody it[02:01 - 05:30] The Stigma Around Women's StrengthThe world often labels strong women as “Karens” or “bitches,” making it harder to advocate for ourselvesThere is nothing wrong with being assertive, but there's also power in a softer approachThe balance between pushing through and holding space for yourself[05:31 - 09:45] Advocating for Yourself Without Emotional DysregulationStrength is not about demanding or yelling—it's about clarity and self-trustHow to hold firm boundaries without feeling the need to justify or explain yourselfThe power of approaching boundaries from a place of calm, rather than anger[09:46 - 14:30] Boundaries in Difficult RelationshipsHow boundaries often come up in co-parenting, breakups, and family dynamicsThe difference between setting a boundary from a place of anger vs. a place of self-respectWhy boundaries aren't about controlling the other person, but about how you will respond[14:31 - 17:50] Giving People Back Their Own FeelingsThe tendency to take responsibility for other people's emotionsWhy we try to “fix” people's feelings and how it disconnects us instead of bringing us closerHow to shift from emotional responsibility hoarding to true, open support[17:51 - 21:30] The Power of Soft Strength in Real-Life SituationsPersonal story: Navigating my mother's illness and seeing how people tried to “fix” the griefThe difference between holding space for someone versus trying to change their experienceThe kind of support that truly makes a difference in hard times[21:31 - 23:00] Final Thoughts & Next StepsSoft strength is about showing up as the version of yourself that you want to beHow to journal on where you can embrace soft strength in your lifeInvitation to book a free consult for 1:1 coaching: amandahess.ca/bookacallLove this episode? Recently, I was officiating a beautiful summer wedding when at the reception the Father of the Groom gave his toast to the couple and made a statement that stuck with me. He said, “Marriage won't always be easy, but it's also not that complicated. PURSUE each other every day and good things will happen.” As I sat and marinated on that statement, I began to recognize the truth in his words. When we stop pursuing and choosing one another, we allow footholds to take place in our lives and in our relationships. In other words when we begin prioritizing other things, getting distracted, or simply growing complacent - we create a recipe for losing at love. However, as my friend's dad reminded us, although it may not always be easy, with God it is always possible! Joining us today to help your life, relationships, and marriage step into that possibility is a wonderful couple who love walking alongside of the broken hearted to help them live a life of abundance, Chuck & Ashley Elliott. There's a myth going around that people just don't read captions anymore and social media is all about the visuals - and we think that's wrong! We just believe that people are reading captions in a different way than how they used to, so it's time we work on adapting to this new way of reading.Basically, if you aren't hooking people in and making it easy for them to read your caption, you'll be losing readers quicker than a flash. Today's social media users are so ready to be distracted by the next post, a different platform to scroll on or even just something else going on in the real world, that you have to have an amazing scroll-stopping hook to get them to carry on reading. You also need to be getting to the point quickly - no long winded, boring descriptions please! If you're ready to increase your engagement by writing better captions, tune in today to learn all about copy and captions. In this episode, we're chatting about:The way in which people have changed the way they read captions over timeWhat “copy” actually isWriting the best hooks so that people want to keep reading and how long your copy should beHow to format your copy in the best way possibleCheck out the full show notes here!Connect with usIf this episode has resonated or inspired you, take a screenshot and tag us in your stories @thetwolauras!We would love to continue the conversation with you, so come and chat with us in TheSocialMediaManagersHub.com, our free community on Facebook or drop us a DM on your preferred platform by searching for @thetwolauras.This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Chartable - https://chartable.com/privacy

Today I interview Deanna Wheeler who is a meditation teacher. We talk about:The symptoms of being in high anxiety for too longHow meditation works and how to beginThe benefits of meditation and how impactful it can beHow meditation can help coaches in their businessHow anyone can find more peace and joy in what they do even when faced with challenges.Deanna turned to meditation at a time in her life when she needed hope. She had to manage the weight of grief heavier than anything she had ever felt before. She found herself in a very high state of stress and her body was in fight or flight mode constantly. It was years before she realized the effects and what neglecting this stress had done to her.She started teaching meditation to help people focus on what truly matters, being part of their life instead of watching it pass them by. Often, we don't know how to be an active participant in life, we're not present and aware of what is happening. She teaches practical mindfulness tools that can be used to help regulate emotions, increase attention, and practice self-kindness. Her mission is to help you get off the sidelines so you can really LIVE your life!Connect with Deanna here:www.deannawheeler.life, https://www.instagram.com/deanna__wheeler/,https://www.facebook.com/groups/595073757750152Connect with Jennifer, Your Business Therapist, to get more Clarity & Confidence in your Biz!Website: www.jenniferjakobsenlifecoaching.comInstagram: @jjakobsenlifecoachSchedule a Free Clarity Session to see if Jennifer can help you: https://bit.ly/JJfree30Join my weekly Coffee Chat every Thursday at 12pm PST by signing up for free HERE.
