Camille Bertault und David Helbock mit ihrem Projekt "Playground" beim 55. Deutschen Jazzfestival Frankfurt 2024 || Auf den österreichischen Pianisten David Helbock traf die französische Sängerin Camille Bertault im Rahmen der Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, nachdem dessen Duo-Partner kurzfristig hatte absagen müssen. Über verschiedene Festival-Einladungen entstand so das Repertoire, das zu ihrem 2022 erschienen Album „Playground“ führte. Wer sich an David Helbocks furiosen Auftritt beim Deutschen Jazzfestival Frankfurt 2018 mit dem Multiinstrumentalisten-Trio "Random/Control" erinnert, versteht, dass der Albumtitel sich nicht allein der Verspieltheit und Abenteuerlust von Bertault verdankt. In der Tat haben sich hier zwei gefunden, die keine Herausforderung scheuen und vor allen Dingen jeder Aufgabe auch gewachsen sind. Von Alexander Skrjabin über Thelonious Monk und Egberto Gismonti bis hin zu eigenen Kompositionen zeigen die beiden auf ihrem Duo-Album ein beeindruckendes Spektrum. Welcome to the second half of the jazz re-match between Argentina and France that we are hosting this week, inspired by the recent World Cup finals. PODCAST JAZZ INTERVIEW mardi et vendredi à 14h. Cette semaine, Frèd Blanc rencontre la chanteuse, Camille Bertault. Chanteuse et compositrice, Camille Bertault a sorti récemment son 3ème album intitulé Le Tigre (chez Masterworks / Sony), après son 1er album "Pas de Géants" très remarqué en 2018. Désireuse d'un vent de liberté et d'une audace nouvelle dans la pratique du chant et dans ses compositions, Camille Bertault a profité de ces moments suspendus de confinement, du temps laissé à la réflexion, pour commencer à s'écarter légèrement de la ligne des années précédentes qui l'ont fait connaître grâce à un succès fulgurant arrivé après la publication d'une vidéo sur Facebook. Une performance de scat remarquée mais qui selon elle ne représente que "3% de ce qu'elle est réellement musicalement. "On m'a tout de suite identifiée au scat, au bebop, à chanter très rapidement mais je me rends compte que j'ai été un petit peu aspirée par ce que les gens ont vu de moi. Vraiment, on est connu pour quelque chose mais c'est une chose très petite par rapport à ce qu'on sait faire à côté". Décomplexée, au-delà des frontières du jazz et des contraintes de création induites par l'industrie musicale, Camille Bertault se confie au micro de Frèd Blanc, racontant la sortie de ce nouvel album et revenant sur sa percée dans l'univers du jazz, une jeune carrière qui a débuté aux Etats-Unis et s'est développée à Paris. Mettant en avant ses propres désirs de musique et d'écriture, elle dit avoir voulu faire un album "que j'aurais voulu écouter en tant qu'auditrice" et non guidé uniquement  "par une envie de performance, de prouver quelque chose". Semblant vouloir se délivrer d'un carcan et ne plus vouloir "faire ça pour plaire à", on entend une voix d'une maturité nouvelle, portée par ce nouveau projet et qui s'interroge sur ce que signifie aujourd'hui "être une chanteuse de jazz" : "Oui, je suis chanteuse mais j'aime bien le rôle de conteuse. Quand j'étais petite, ma mère me racontait chaque soir des histoires et cela m'a beaucoup marqué. 2021, une édition numérique : pour les artistes, pour les professionnels, pour le public, pour la culture, le festival Au fil des voix vous donne rendez-vous ! Comme chaque année, le Festival Au Fil des Voix vous invite à découvrir des artistes talentueux, venus des quatre coins du monde. Dans l’émission, nous recevons Saïd Assadi, fondateur, Sam Mangwana, icône africaine de la rumba, Christine Salem, grande voix du maloya réunionnais, San Salvador, les occitans qui montent et Myriam Beldi, pionnière du chaâbi algérois au féminin. Sam Mangwana présente l’album Lubamba (Label: MDC / Pias) Géant parmi les géants, légende parmi les légendes, Sam Mangwana, 75 ans, né à Kinshasa (RDC) de parents angolais, incarne quasiment à lui seul l’âge d’or de la rumba congolaise. Tout au long d’une carrière à la richesse inouïe, lui qui a chanté aux côtés de Tabu Ley Rochereau, Franco ou encore Wendo Kolosoy, il a su brasser les styles avec une joie et une émotion non dissimulées. Du lyrisme lusophone aux rythmes chaloupés et nonchalants de la rumba d’antan et passant par le son afro-cubain, Mangwana continue de coller à son époque tout en gardant un regard vers les merveilles du passé. En 2016, il sort l’album Lubamba uniquement en digital. À l’occasion de son retour en France, cet album sera enfin disponible dans tous les formats. Lubamba (liane en langue kikongo), totalement inédit au format physique est une ultime preuve que l’émotion et l’engagement n’ont pas de limite d’âge. On y découvrira d’ailleurs en ouverture le morceau Juventude Actual où Sam est accompagné par une autre légende de la musique africaine, Manu Dibango. → Le clip tourné par Wasis Diop est à voir ici. Christine Salem présente l’album Mersi (Label: Blue Fanal) Aux percussions de son île, l’icône réunionnaise du maloya-blues emmêle désormais les mélopées d’un violon virtuose. Sur ses pistes voyageuses, aux couleurs blues, maloya ou rock, elle rend grâce à ses ancêtres, et chante la paix. Sans compromis mais fort d’une sensibilité à fleur de peau, dans la puissance et la douceur, Mersi ressemble à Christine Salem. À bord, on retrouve son fidèle compagnon Seb Martel, Anne Laure Bourget aux percussions, Jacky Malbrouk, gardien du maloya et le violon de Frédéric Norel. C’est Jean Lamoot (Bashung, Salif Keita, Dominique A, Brigitte Fontaine) qui se voit confier, dans l’écrin du Studio Ferber, la réalisation et le mix de cet album qui se distingue par sa lumière, sa sincérité et son charisme. →  Le clip Tyinbo à voir ici  San Salvador présente l’album La Grande Folie (Label: MDC / Pias) Six voix puissantes, terriennes, connectées, presque chamaniques. Six voix qui chantent un folk tellurique et hypnotique, soutenu par des percussions à l’autorité affirmée. Six voix qui font entendre la langue occitane de l’ouest du Massif Central à travers les festivals de toute l’Europe comme pour rappeler, à une génération élevée aux transes électro, toute une généalogie de ferveurs et de vertiges. Ces six voix sont San Salvador, dont le premier album va enfin arriver après que leur concert a fait sensation partout où ils se sont produits. Elle a derrière elle une véritable carrière, mais cet album est comme une première fois. Sa longue carrière a démarré en Algérie ou elle est connue. Quand Ptit Moh, musicien et arrangeur incontournable (Gnawa Diffusion, Rachid Taha) a découvert la voix et la personnalité de Myriam, un soir dans un cabaret d’Alger, il a pensé qu’il était temps de "proposer à une femme, de chanter ce répertoire Châabi jusque-là réservé aux hommes". → Le Clip Écoute ma Voix à voir ici En ce qui concerne le festival : l’édition 2021 se tiendra exceptionnellement en ligne. Pour l’équipe d’Au Fil des Voix, il n’était pas question d’annuler l’événement. Dans ce contexte si difficile où la reprise de la vie culturelle est systématiquement reportée au lendemain, nous avons choisi, depuis le début de l’épidémie, de prendre le parti d’une adaptation dynamique pour faire vivre la culture. Ces artistes et musiciens ont consacré leur temps, leur talent et leur énergie à ce florilège de projets scéniques et discographiques inédits. Ils attendent depuis trop longtemps de les partager au public et aux professionnels. En faisant ce choix, en leur offrant une scène, en nous réinventant, nous soulignons l’importance de la création et de l’expression artistique, mais aussi du lien entre les artistes et le public. L’expérience restera extraordinaire : tout est mis en place pour que le public puisse profiter des performances programmées au 360 Paris Music Factory depuis chez lui. Tous les concerts seront ainsi captés sur un plateau de près de 100 m2 en haute qualité par six caméras, sous le regard d’un réalisateur, en présence de quelques journalistes et programmateurs invités.
