Hollywood promised spectacle. Audiences stayed home. In this fiscally irresponsible episode, Shane and Duncan return to the financial wreckage of modern blockbuster filmmaking, breaking down the numbers, the behind-the-scenes chaos, and the very modern phenomenon of studios insisting everything is fine while hundreds of millions of dollars evaporate. Prepare for a snarky, data-driven look at how blockbuster ambition sometimes turns into a masterclass in financial faceplants. ~ Support the show by becoming a Midnight Minion, Menace, or Maniac, and unlock exclusive bonus content over at PATREON ~ Join the MFFI community and vote on episode topics via DISCORD ~ Join the Midnight Masses! This internal move, confirmed via regulatory filing on February 17, 2026, shifts approximately 11 million shares—previously making PIF Take-Two's second-largest shareholder—without any sale or exit from the company. This consolidation aligns with PIF's broader strategy, including a January 2026 announcement to transfer around $12 billion in gaming-related shares to Savvy, encompassing stakes in Nintendo, Bandai Namco, and expected positions in Koei Tecmo, NCSoft, Nexon, and Square Enix. Savvy Games Group emerges as the Kingdom's central vehicle for global gaming investments. The timing is notable ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI's 2026 release, with Take-Two's portfolio featuring GTA, Red Dead Redemption, NBA 2K, Borderlands, and Zynga's mobile titles driving market focus.Analytic Dreamz also covers PIF's separate $55 billion agreement (with partners) to acquire Electronic Arts, expected to close later in 2026, further deepening Saudi exposure to AAA publishing, U.S. gaming, and international publishers. This restructuring centralizes holdings under Savvy, maintaining strong Saudi capital ties to major franchises and the industry's biggest upcoming launch. David is mal wieder da. Cheerio. Learn more about your ad choices. Whoa, Shuhei! We’ve got a lot to talk about. Stack it up! Join Matt and Alex as they discuss, among other things, Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, Borderlands 4, Dispatch, Ghost of Yotei, and Silent Hill f. What’s more, we delve into the PlayStation Plus Essential monthly games, and we share our thoughts on black-bar censorship in Dispatch for Nintendo Switch 2. And if you think that’s all, then you’ve got another thing coming! We hit the high notes, and we hit the low notes, but we’ll always bring the banter. What are you waiting for? Dive in! As always, the opinions fly fast and heavy! Look out for this super-sized show, as the seemingly smallest conversation veers off into a multiverse of chit-chat. Sounds cool, huh?

Wisdom, Perspective and Hope on the Border: A Wisdom Conversation with Gil Gillenwater Welcome back to The Main Thing Podcast. We recently engaged in a meaningful and transformative conversation with Gil Gillenwater, a trailblazing humanitarian leader. Gil has devoted his life to serving people in the U.S.–Mexico borderlands. This conversation offers listeners a deeper, more grounded understanding of the southern border, beyond headlines, politics, and talking points. Let's be clear from the outset: if you think this episode is about free handouts or opening up our borders to everyone, you are sorely mistaken. Your eyes will be dramatically opened when you listen to Gil's wisdom. What unfolds is a focused, human conversation about dignity, responsibility, faith, and hope—shared by someone who has lived and worked in the borderlands for decades. Podcast Resources & Links Rancho Feliz Charitable Foundation (Gil's nonprofit): https://ranchofeliz.com/ Gil Gillenwater's book — "Hope on the Border" https://a.co/d/ciQvuDI (From Amazon) Videos about Rancho Feliz https://youtube.com/@ranchofeliz?si=JctJeBTZSm2M2ycT Gil and Troy's Epic 1982 Journey - The Arizona Trail https://www.arizonahighways.com/archive/issues/chapter/Doc.1506.Chapter.7 A Focused Wisdom Conversation This episode invites listeners to elevate their perspective on one of the most complex and misunderstood issues in American life by hearing directly from someone with lived experience on the border. Gil shares what decades of service have taught him about humility, human dignity, leadership, and faith—offering insight that replaces assumption with understanding and reaction with clarity. What You'll Learn in This Episode How lived experience reshapes our understanding of the U.S.–Mexico border Why responsibility and dignity matter as much as compassion What long-term service teaches us about leadership and humility How faith can inform action without relying on easy answers More About Our Wise Guest Gil Gillenwater is the founder and president of the Rancho Feliz Charitable Foundation, an award-winning nonprofit dedicated to long-term, dignity-centered service in the U.S.–Mexico borderlands. His work has been recognized with Arizona's highest honor for volunteerism, as well as formal recognition from Mexican authorities. Gil is also the author of Hope on the Border, a deeply human account of life and service in the borderlands, highlighting both hard realities and quiet acts of redemption. Why This Episode Matters Few topics generate more emotion—and less understanding—than America's southern border. This episode is for anyone willing to have assumptions challenged and perspective expanded. Welcome to today's Dragonlance Hangout! This is a casual series where we discuss all things Dragonlance, from characters, to modules, to game editions in a relaxed conversation with the live audience. Today I am discussing the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set, Holmes Edition. https://youtube.com/live/gWX0M7frBEA Show Notes Intro Welcome to another DragonLance Hangout! It is Kirinor, Newkolt the 21st, and my name is Adam. Today I am discussing the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set, Holmes Edition. You can even pick up Dragonlance media or get $10 by signing up to StartPlaying.Games using my affiliate links in the description below. Discussion DLSaga Anthology https://dlsaga.com/contributors/ 4,000–7,500 words preferred Notifications sent by March 1, 2026 Holmes Basic Set https://grognardia.blogspot.com/2008/09/holmes-basic.html The Holmes Basic Set was published in 1977 and would be superceded by Moldvay/Cook Basic/Expert or B/X (1981) a revision and representation of OD&D for the mass market, supercedes Original Dungeons & Dragons (1974) an introduction to the then-unpublished AD&D game, and a unique game in its own right. draws select influences from other sourcebooks, including Supplement I: Greyhawk (1975), Swords & Spells (1976), the Chainmail wargame rules, and the third-party sourcebook Warlock https://dungeonsdragons.fandom.com/wiki/Basic_Set_(Holmes) color art by David C. Sutherland III contents vary considerably depending on printing, but all include the 48-page rulebook The rules only cover play from level 1 to 3. Spells are only provided up to level 2. From the Greyhawk supplement, it includes the thief class; variable hit points per class; and the hit point bonus for very high Constitution scores; the first-level Magic-User spells magic missile, shield, and ventriloquism; the second-level Magic-user spells darkness, magic mouth, mirror image, pyrotechnics, strength, and web; and the second-level cleric spells silence 15′ radius and snake charm. From Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, for which the Player’s Handbook had not yet been released, it includes the first-level Magic-User spells dancing lights, enlargement and Tenser’s floating disc; the second-level Magic-User spells audible glamer and ray of enfeeblement; the first-level cleric spells remove fear and resist cold; and the second-level cleric spells know alignment and resist fire. An individual initiative system has characters with highest Dexterity go first. The 3 for 1 basis rule is clarified to mean that one can lower an ability score to raise their prime requisite. Although Gygax would later assert that this was not the intended interpretation of the rule, it would influence further editions of the Basic D&D rules line. A two-axis alignment system is included, with alignments having both lawful-neutral-chaotic and good-neutral-evil. However, only five of the possible nine alignment combinations are evidenced in the text—lawful good, lawful evil, neutral, chaotic good, and chaotic evil. There is no neutral good, neutral evil, lawful neutral, or chaotic neutral. Parrying rules are included, likely from Chainmail. Early printings of the book included Dungeon Geomorphs Set One: Basic Dungeon (1976) Monster & Treasure Assortment Set One: Levels One-Three (1977) November 1978 onward, the box set instead came with a copy of the adventure module B1 In Search of the Unknown (1979) Later printings instead included B2 The Keep on the Borderlands (1981) It was edited by Dr. John Eric Holmes, an associate professor of neurology at the University of Southern California’s School of Medicine. Holmes was a D&D player, and it was he who first approached TSR in 1976 offering to write an edited revision of the game’s rules. TSR had originally envisioned the idea of a Basic Set prior to the release of Eldritch Wizardry (1976). publication date of July 10th, 1977 sold for the price of US $9.50 The Basic Set received seven printings between 1977 and 1980. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeons_%26_Dragons_Basic_Set The rulebook is intended for characters of levels one through three, with rules for adventuring in dungeons, and introduces the main concepts of the game;[2] it explains the game’s concepts and method of play in terms that make them accessible to new players ages twelve and older who might not be familiar with the rules and structure of tabletop miniatures wargaming. Although the Basic Set was not fully compatible with Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, players were expected to continue play beyond third level by moving to AD&D,[2][3] which was released beginning later that year. Holmes preferred a lighter tone with more room for personal improvisation, while Gary Gygax, who wrote the Advanced books, wanted an expansive game with rulings on any conceivable situation which might come up during play, and so could be used to arbitrate disputes at tournaments. Outro And that is all the time we have to hangout today. What do you think of Holmes' Basic Set? What was your first experience with D&D? And finally, would you ever play B1 or B2 with the Basic D&D set rules? Feel free to email me at info@dlsaga.com or comment below. I would like to take a moment and remind you to subscribe to this YouTube channel, ring the bell to get notified about upcoming videos and click the like button. Geographies of Relation: Diasporas and Borderlands in the Americas (U Michigan Press, 2024) offers a new lens for examining diaspora and borderlands texts and performances that considers the inseparability of race, ethnicity, and gender in imagining and enacting social change. Theresa Delgadillo crosses interdisciplinary and canonical borders to investigate the interrelationships of African-descended Latinx and mestizx peoples through an analysis of Latin American, Latinx, and African American literature, film, and performance. Not only does Delgadillo offer a rare extended analysis of Black Latinidades in Chicanx literature and theory, but she also considers over a century's worth of literary, cinematic, and performative texts to support her argument about the significance of these cultural sites and overlaps. Chapters illuminate the significance of Toña La Negra in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, reconsider feminist theorist Gloria Anzaldúa's work in revising exclusionary Latin American ideologies of mestizaje, delve into the racial and gender frameworks Sandra Cisneros attempts to rewrite, unpack encounters between African Americans and Black Puerto Ricans in texts by James Baldwin and Marta Moreno Vega, explore the African diaspora in colonial and contemporary Peru through Daniel Alarcón's literature and the documentary Soy Andina, and revisit the centrality of Black power in ending colonialism in Cuban narratives. Geographies of Relation demonstrates the long histories of networks and exchanges across the Americas as well as the interrelationships among Indigenous, Black, African American, mestizx, Chicanx, and Latinx peoples. It offers a compelling argument that geographies of relation are as significant as national frameworks in structuring cultural formation and change in this hemisphere. Theresa Delgadillo is a Vilas Distinguished Professor of English and Chicanx/e and Latinx/e Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she is also Director of the Chicanx/e and Latinx/e Studies Program. She is a founder and editor for the online publication Latinx Talk. Shodona Kettle is a PhD candidate at the Institute of the Americas, University College London. Xbox's big bet for bringing PCs to the living room has officially been undercut. This week, Valve announced three (!) different pieces of hardware. First, there is the Steam Machine, which serves as the strongest competitor to consoles. While still very much a PC, the Steam Machine packs a lot of punch for a small device and could be a force if priced well. Second, a brand new VR headset in the Steam Frame. Despite Meta having massive first-party support, Valve has decided to challenge a space that many of us thought was finished growing. Third, and finally, is a Steam Controller. It's horrendous looking and makes the Duke look ergonomic. How does Valve's aggressive hardware plans disrupt Xbox and does any lingering appeal for the PC in the living room by Xbox remain? The Dukes unite and dive straight in.
