HBO's addictive drama Industry has never been afraid to wade in the muck, and the fourth season and finale was especially messy. The paths of frenemies Harper (Myha'la) and Yasmin (Marisa Abela) erratically converged and diverged, Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington) lands at a fintech startup, and the parallels to real-life headlines became impossible not to notice. So after that harrowing season finale, we're wondering what just happened, and where might the show go from here? Rock royalty is in the house. Billy Idol sits down with Bill Maher and nothing is off-limits. From snorting heroin backstage to smoking crack to kick the heroin habit (“it worked!”), Idol tells stories that would make most publicists quit on the spot. They swap sharp takes on Frank Sinatra being a drunk bully to his son, debate whether John Lennon could really hold his own without Paul McCartney and trace the Beatles' takeover of America. Idol reveals how a near-fatal overdose left him turning blue in a hotel room, how a brutal motorcycle accident became his real turning point, and why he now calls himself “California sober.” His new documentary is called Billy Idol Should Be Dead and after this conversation, you'll understand why he isn't. Crazy episode that definitely takes at least two viewings to really get it (all the black and white scenes are earlier, and color later). From Tony, to Paulie, to Junior, the characters of The Sopranos are television legend. But just as iconic are the sets of the show. A new exhibit at the Museum of the Moving Image gathers the archives of Sopranos creator David Chase, as well as sketches and designs behind some of the show's principal sets, including Dr. Melfi's office, the Soprano home, the Bada Bing strip club, and Satriale's Pork Store. Barbara Miller, museum deputy director for curatorial affairs, discusses the exhibit, 'Stories and Set Designs for The Sopranos,' on view through May 31. Photograph by Courtesy of HBO

This week on The Necessary Conversation, we're joined by a very special guest: Virginia House Delegate Jessica Anderson, who flipped the 71st District in 2025 by defeating Republican incumbent Amanda Batten and turning the seat blue. We talk war, the Epstein files, AI, media consolidation, and what it means for democracy right now.⚔️ War With IranDespite campaigning as a “no new wars” president, Trump launched coordinated U.S.–Israel strikes across Iran, reportedly killing senior Iranian leadership and dozens of civilians, including children at a girls' school. Iran retaliated with missile and drone attacks, killing U.S. troops. Trump did not seek congressional authorization. We ask:Why are we at war with Iran now?Did Trump break his promise not to start new wars?Is this a distraction from the Epstein files or talk of postponing midterms? What about the civilian casualties?

Larry Ellison and his son David Ellison have won the bid to acquire Warner Brothers Discovery in a $110 billion deal, edging out Netflix. The Ellisons, close allies of Donald Trump, are financing the purchase with $70 billion in debt, including roughly $25 billion from Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds. The final price of $31 per share was more than four times the recent low of Warner Brothers Discovery stock. What this means for American media is staggering. The Ellisons already control CBS and CBS News through their earlier $8 billion Paramount merger. This new deal adds CNN, HBO, HBO Max, DC Comics, Harry Potter, Star Trek, Comedy Central, Showtime, TNT, TBS, the Food Network, HGTV, Discovery, Adult Swim, OWN, The Learning Channel, Avatar Studios, and the Lord of the Rings and Mission Impossible franchises. Larry Ellison also holds a significant stake in TikTok through Oracle. Hawk outlines how Bari Weiss, placed in charge of CBS News and 60 Minutes, has already driven away viewers and credibility, including Anderson Cooper, who walked away from 60 Minutes after 19 years. The same playbook is expected to be applied to CNN. The deeper concern is the Ellisons' intent to gut creative talent and replace programming with AI-generated content to service the enormous debt load this deal carries. With Trump signaling regulatory approval, antitrust challenges are effectively neutralized. Scott Jennings and CNN's panel-yelling format come up as symbols of a media landscape already in decline. The consolidation of this much media power in the hands of Trump-aligned billionaires represents a fundamental threat to independent journalism and creative expression in America. Friends, Today, Heather and I ask and try to answer: Why is Trump attacking Iran? Also: Why is he so gracious to Mayor Mamdani? Why does ICE continue to be so out of control? Why did the Republican House Oversight Committee want Hillary Clinton to testify about Jeffrey Epstein? Are the Epstein files finally closing in on Trump? Why worry that CBS, CNN, HBO, and Comedy Central are all coming under the control of a Trump crony? Why be concerned that Pete Hegseth won't let a crucial AI tool bar spying on Americans and prohibit non-human control over lethal weapons? And, not the least, why am I so short? All this, and more! on today's Klatch. Please pull up a chair, grab a cuppa, and join in the conversation. This is a public episode. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms just wrapped its first season on HBO, and it might be the most important template for franchise storytelling in years. Six episodes. Thirty minutes each. No world-ending stakes. No required homework from other series. Just a tight, character-driven story set in the Game of Thrones universe that stands completely on its own. It's also a massive hit, averaging nearly 13 million viewers per episode and becoming HBO's third-biggest debut ever. Johnny Mac highlightsChris Fleming's first HBO special “Live at the Palace,” taped at Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre and featuring topics like masculinity, Trader Joe's, Oreos, and NPR. He discusses a New Yorker interview with Conan O'Brien about preparing to host the Oscars, including writing and testing material at clubs, handling political comedy, why Trump feels hard to parody, and navigating network and Academy rules. Mac notes Taylor Tomlinson's favorable Hollywood Reporter cover story about her career, marketing concerns around religious material, and starting comedy at 16, including church shows. He mentions Dru Ski's “Coulda Been Records” episode with Mike Epps, Sam Morril taping a special in Tampa, and Netflix announcements for Derek Stroop's “Nostalgic” (March 10) and Mark Normand's “None Too Pleased” (March 17). Actor Ken Leung is no stranger to the toxic male archetype. He embodies it as Eric Tao, the ruthless baseball-bat-carrying trading floor bully he plays on HBO's “Industry.” Leung talks with Audie about what pushes characters like Eric—on screen and in real life—over the edge from family man to a name you could see in the Epstein files. They also discuss why women of color don't get the “anti-hero” treatment, and how “Industry” has evolved into a portrait of the greed, corruption, and class conflict defining this moment. -- This episode was produced by Lori Galarreta and Jesse Remedios Senior Producer: Matt Martinez Technical Director: Dan Dzula Learn more about your ad choices. Episode 193: Ginger Gonzaga Interview This is the After Show for Yellow, featuring Andrew's conversation with writer and actor Ginger Gonzaga. Many listeners know Ginger from her roles in Marvel's She-Hulk, CBS's True Lies, Showtime's Kidding, I'm Dying Up Here, HBO's Togetherness, and Room 104. But in this episode, the spotlight shifts to her as a creator as well as a performer. Andrew and Ginger talk about coming up in the heavily male improv scene of the early 2000s, the delicate (and sometimes not-so-delicate) politics of improvising in auditions and on set, and how her background in high school speech and debate shaped her confidence as a storyteller. She also shares a wild story about pitching a show centered on mental health at a time when that topic wasn't exactly trending in development meetings or even in the national conversation. It's candid, funny, and full of insight about carving out space as a performer and writer. Most of all, it makes clear just how much Yellow means to her.
On this episode of Obsessed The Podcast, host Matt Wilstein breaks down the addictive chaos of Industry, the buzzy HBO and BBC drama about ambition, power, and toxic workplace culture in high finance. He's joined first by Emma Fraser to unpack the season's biggest twists and what makes the series such a nerve-shredding watch. Then, Wilstein sits down with star Ken Leung, who opens up about playing the volatile Eric Tao, the psychology behind his performance, and how the show captures the brutal intensity of the trading floor. Leung also shares the story of how he nearly tanked the audition for his breakout performance on The Sopranos and explains why he most certainly will not be reprising his role in the Trump-demanded Rush Hour 4. On My Three Sons, Stanley Livingston grew up, with the boomer generation and with television itself. By the time we came to know Stan as Chip Douglas he had logged over ten credits, performing with Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, Doris Day, Ozzie & Harriet Nelson, Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Debbie Reynolds and Gregory Peck!Stan takes us back to his first gig, as a stunt double for Jon Provost on Lassie. Jon couldn't swim yet. Stan got stuck in a muddy pond and turned in a tremendously vivid performance as a kid attempting not to drown. His parents met in Baltimore, where his father ran a burlesque theater and his mom put some vahs in her dance voom. In search of reinvention, they moved to California where Stan and his brother Barry were born and raised. With an ample dose of show biz in his blood, Stan felt at home from the first moment he stepped onto a set.He shares the story of his big break at just six years old on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. Stan was working as a neighborhood kid extra when Ozzie threw him a line and he delivered. Stan appeared on ten episodes of the show, until he landed My Three Sons and his brother Barry took over. (Then following him to MTS!)At age 13, Stan was cast in the epic, star-studded adventure, How the West Was Won under the legendary (and notoriously hot-tempered) direction of Henry Hathaway. He recounts Hathaway's explosive on-set tirades (and how Debbie Reynolds was the only cast member bold enough to take him on and yell back!) The experience taught him an invaluable lesson: never take what happens on set personally.Stan speaks warmly of William Frawley, who played Bub on My Three Sons. Stan never knew his grandfathers and Bill did not have kids. They adopted each other and truly cherished their bond, on and off screen. And so, it was difficult for Stan to accept William Demarest who came in as Uncle Charley when William Frawley's faltering health made it impossible to get him insured. But Stan did eventually warm to the new Bill who came with his own set of charms. We hear behind-the-scenes stories from the MTS set, including a memorable location shoot aboard a jet at LAX, and how producers enticed movie star Fred MacMurray to television by structuring a schedule that allowed him to shoot all of his scenes for the season in just a few months. We enjoy a warm, insightful look at growing up in classic television and celebrate the mentors who helped shape one of America's most beloved sitcom families. Season Endings and Real-World Goodbyes This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl break down the Season 1 finale of HBO's A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, reflect on the season as a whole, and celebrate the life and career of actor Robert Carradine. Did the finale land the joust, or did it pull up short at the lists? And where does this first season rank among HBO's growing Westerosi saga? Plus, we say goodbye to a certified nerd icon. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 News Bites – Robert Carradine: 5:30 A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms – Season 1 Finale Review: 13:47 Season 1 Retrospective: 40:12 Final Thoughts: 46:52 News Bites Robert Carradine (1954–2026) Robert Carradine, best known for his role as Lewis Skolnick in Revenge of the Nerds, has passed away. Carradine was part of the legendary Carradine acting family, son of John Carradine and brother to David and Keith Carradine. While he built a long résumé in film and television, he became a generational touchstone for playing the underdog genius in the 1984 cult classic Revenge of the Nerds and its sequels. Beyond that franchise, Carradine appeared in projects such as The Long Riders, Lizzie McGuire, King of the Nerds, and numerous television roles across decades. He embodied a very specific cinematic archetype: the smart outsider who eventually wins. For an entire era of fandom, he helped make “nerd” aspirational. We tip the pocket protector in respect. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms – Season 1 Finale Episode Title: ‘The Morrow’ Director: Sarah Adina Smith Writer: Ira Parker & Ti Mikkel Network: HBO The Season 1 finale brings Ser Duncan the Tall and Egg's first major Westerosi chapter to a close. Lyonel invites Dunk to move to Storm’s End, but Dunk believes that he brings only bad luck. Baelor’s body is cremated at his funeral. Dunk finds Valarr, who questions why his father died, but Dunk was left alive. Raymun reveals he has married the prostitute Rowan, alias Red. Maekar informs Dunk that Aerion will spend time in the Free Cities to atone. He laments that Baelor would have been a good king and invites Dunk to Summerhall, where Egg can be his squire; Dunk declines, which Egg overhears. In a flashback, Dunk asks Arlan why he was never knighted. Arlan retorts that a true knight always finishes a story. In the present, Daeron tells Dunk to mentor Egg to prevent him from becoming like Aerion. Egg discovers that his hair is regrowing. He takes a knife to Aerion’s bedroom, but Maekar calms him down. Dunk asks Maekar if Egg can squire for him on the road, but Maekar refuses. Raymun buys Sweetfoot back for Dunk, who then gifts her to Raymun. As Dunk leaves Ashford, Egg arrives, and they depart together. Egg suggests that they travel to Dorne. An angry Maekar later realizes that Egg is gone. Key themes explored: – Honor vs. ambition – The weight of legacy – The quiet tension of noble politics – The personal cost of knighthood – Nature vs. Nurture The episode leans more on moral consequence than explosive set pieces, reinforcing the show's identity as a smaller-scale, character-first entry in the Game of Thrones universe. Brian & Darryl Discuss: – Did the finale feel satisfying or intentionally restrained? – Was the pacing consistent with the season's slower, novelistic approach? – Standout performances – Production design and tonal consistency – How does this set up future seasons Rating out of 5 When the Laughing Storm Offers You War, You Say Yes Brian: 4.88/5 Darryl: 4.6/5 Season 1 Retrospective Season 1 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms carved out its own lane in Westeros by shrinking the scope and focusing on intimacy over spectacle. Season strengths: – Character chemistry between Dunk and Egg – Political nuance without overwhelming lore – Strong costume and set authenticity – A grounded tone closer to early Game of Thrones Rating out of 10, Wow, That Hedge Knight has a HUGE “Sword” Brian: 9.17/10 Darryl: 9.5/10 Question of the Week What would you do if you were invisible for a day? If you came here for peace and quiet, you are aggressively lost. This daily comedy show kicks off with the most controversial debate of 2025: nuts in banana bread. That's right. We're solving the real problems. Surprise walnuts? Absolutely not. Chocolate chips? Proceed with caution. We break down the emotional trauma of biting into something you didn't consent to (looking at you, sneaky bakery walnuts). From there, we spiral — as any respectable daily comedy show would — into International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day, Curling Is Cool Day, and the logistics of putting together a Rizz Show curling squad. Are we athletes? No. Will we talk trash like Olympians? Absolutely. There's also a strong push for broom ball, roof ball, and whatever other sport allows us to compete without full cardio commitment. Then things get… spicy. In Sex Time Fun Facts, we dive into a Reddit dilemma that has the room divided: A former nanny (now married) once had a “hilarious” kiss-turned-hookup with the kid she used to babysit… years later… as adults… and now she's invited to his wedding. Does she tell her husband? Is it lying by omission? Is it none of his business? The crew debates loyalty, timing, and whether “it would be hilarious if we kissed” is the boldest pickup line of all time.Meanwhile, Rafe prepares to sail toward what may or may not be “Cartel City,” Riz gets birthday love from the curling association, and we celebrate the retirement of Mr. Clean — a true bald icon stepping away after 68 years of spotless service. Fire Island retirement rumors? You decide. There's lawn rage over fiber optic crews tearing up yards, actual fistfights between contractors (blue collar conflict resolution at its finest), and a passionate breakdown of the HBO show Neighbors, where apparently no one is redeemable and everyone needs therapy. It's chaos. It's sarcasm. It's suburban panic mixed with banana bread betrayal. It's your favorite daily comedy show doing what we do best — arguing about nonsense and somehow making it your problem.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.LADOT's ‘don't poop on buses' campaign takes bizarre twistBonnie Blue I'm Pregnant After Banging 400 Guys!!!'Just crazy': Foristell neighbors 'disappointed' by contractor brawl caught on videoMr. Clean 'retiring' after 68 years on the job. Nothing says suburban bliss like little neon flags sprouting up across your lawn like a government-sponsored Easter egg hunt. In today's comedy podcast, Rizz spirals (respectfully) over fiber optic lines being marked directly through his beloved Japanese maple, and we ask the real question: do you get a discount if they destroy your yard… or just emotional damage?Things escalate when we break down the now-viral fistfight between fiber optic contractors in Forestell. That's right — two grown men, in high-vis vests, settling a “you're lazy” dispute with haymakers in the middle of a neighborhood already dealing with torn-up lawns and brown faucet water. Is it professional? No. Is it peak blue-collar conflict resolution? Absolutely. And yes, we debate whether they grabbed beers together after. From there, we pivot (hard) into Mr. Clean announcing his retirement after 68 spotless years. Is he headed to Boca? Fire Island? Is this just a marketing stunt? We investigate like the responsible adults we are. Then it's HBO's “Neighbors” — the show that makes you question humanity and your HOA. We break down the most unhinged characters, including doomsday preppers, beach tyrants, cat hoarders, and a man who casually threatens murder before inviting people to a barbecue. It's everything you love about suburban drama without actually having to move.In Crap on Celebrities, we unpack the wild moment at the BAFTAs involving Tourette's, Michael B. Jordan, and a headline nobody saw coming. We also talk Wiz Khalifa's birthday “tradition,” Snooki's health update, and why Leonardo DiCaprio is slowly morphing into Jack Nicholson in real time. It's lawn drama. It's celebrity chaos. It's suburban anxiety with microphones. This daily comedy show continues to prove that no topic is too small — especially if it involves Kentucky bluegrass and potential property destruction. If you love a loud, unfiltered, slightly unhinged comedy podcast that covers weird news, celebrity fails, neighborhood wars, and the kind of conversations that should probably stay off HOA Facebook pages… welcome home. This comedy podcast proudly serves St. Louis and beyond with daily humor, pop culture commentary, and the occasional emotional breakdown over landscaping.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
