Ever wondered why American airports feel like a scene out of an action movie while Canadian ones are a zen paradise? Join us as we recount some jaw-dropping experiences from our recent trip to the U.S., including armed guards and chaotic traffic that made us appreciate Vancouver's calm and order even more. You'll also get a laugh out of our surprise at the sheer variety of diet sodas and the subtle yet intriguing differences in McDonald's fries between the two countries. We then shift gears to the electrifying world of TwitchCon, where the atmosphere felt more like a big community meetup than a traditional convention. Fitness influencers at a gaming event? Oh yes, and we discuss how gamification could be the key to making fitness as addictive as your favorite video game. From Beat Saber in VR to the nostalgic days of Wii Sports Resort, we explore the exciting possibilities of integrating fitness into gaming and what the future might hold. Finally, we tackle the everyday struggles of keeping our diets in check while navigating stress-induced snacking. From healthier snack options like dry roasted edamame to practical meal prep ideas including dense bean salads and quick "pizzas" on naan or wraps, we've got you covered. And for a humorous twist, we entertain the quirky notion of seasoning human meat with cumin, capturing the playful spirit of our episode. On the day of our non-denominational Lord, April 7th, 2024, 4 nerds were given a platform for a second time. A platform, not just on the internet, but in a real life place in front of real life people at the Midwestern Gaming Classic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Those 4 nerds dared to ask a dangerous question, "What sport should be added to Wii Sports?" This raucous debate will really have you questioning if you know what a sport is. Andrew is pushing for esports in video games. Kyle is defending an American pastime. Todd is combining two things you didn't know could be combined. Join the Short clan in reminiscing over their top four classic Wii games of all time. In fourth place comes Wii Fit. Even with its less-than-subtle body shaming, the game offered several fun minigames that will always be nostalgic. In third place was Wii Play and Wii Play Motion. It was split 50/50 who preferred the original over the reboot, but both offered tons of group minigames that were fun to play over and over again. In second place was Wii Sports and Wii Sports resort. Tanner and Timmi recollect nearly punching the family TV many times while boxing in the original, but everyone had their variety of favorite events and memories from Wii Sports Resort. Coming in first place was We Ski and Snowboard. Even though it isn't really a classic (in fact, it wasn't even developed by Nintendo), this game is hands down the most nostalgic for the four of us. It's a game where you have your choice of skiing or snowboarding down a classic ski resort or a mountain in the wilderness. The resort offered background music, fun minigames, and lots of NPCs to interact with, while the mountain offered more intense trails, adventurous side quests, and the potential for escaping avalanches. This is definitely a game worth trying out! Let us know what your favorite Wii games are! Message us on Instagram @short.on_line This episode is rated Beginner. Discussion topics are broad and tailored to all levels of gamer, especially those who have never played Zelda. Spoilers for games are at a minimum. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shortsonline/support

Living in the city we all become “Urban Explorer's”, some times it's hiking trailing or maybe driving out to country side at national park or in the case of the Cannibal Kids, exploring abandoned scary as hell places while just a little high. Miami is known for it's white-sand beaches, non-stop nightlife, warm weather and Mormon fashion! — there's been a crime, call Miami Vice! Their latest track Jeans opens with the lyrics “Maybe it's time that I open up, a pair of jeans just to say what's up!” Opening your jeans for love can be scary. But don't worry, the track Falling in Love at Wii Sports Resort, has a great synth pop beat, you can feel the Miami sun warming your Banana Boat covered skin on South Beach while sipping a cocktail. Dolly Parton said "Love is something sent from heaven to worry the hell out of you.” well according to the Cannibal Kids — the future is digital, fall in love with a computer but only if you have a high speed fiber internet or the Love Connection will be disconnected. This pandemic has got us anxious and questioning our sanity at the same time. Hobbies are a great way to release stress; try switching the stickers on your Rubric's Cube because you can't solve the puzzle, untangling an unlimited number of Yo-Yo knots and reliving your former Dungeon and Dragons memories or start the Bedroom Pop Tour on Youtube. JUST TALKING 11X Daytime Emmy Award winning Actor and X-Games Gold Medalist, Kristos Andrews joins JUST TALKING to discuss his transformation from skateboarder to actor to director and producer. From Dog-Town to the X-Games Kristos was inspired by big risk takers like Jamie Thomas “Leap Of Faith” and Jereme Rogers, giving rise to viewing the rogue “street skater” as an athlete meets Rock Star icon — it's “rebel culture by nature.” Skateboarding is an art and your skateboard is your brush — push limits, take fears as a challenge…“enjoy the process of failing forward.” Kristos is well known for the character Pete Garrett on The Bay. Kristos is still hungry and passionate about the next part of the journey — “You've got to think ahead and when you can—take that leap of faith.” Watch The Bay on Amazon Prime: https://www.amazon.com/The-Bay-Season-1/dp/B07Z9T13J4 STRIKE A CHORD Miami Indie-alternative Rock Band Cannibal Kids lead singer/songwriter Damian Gutierrez joins STRIKE A CHORD to discuss their latest hit track Jeans. Matthew and Samuel compete to pick the 10 best Wii games – the same game cannot be picked more than once. It took 159 podcasts, but we're finally talking about the damned Nintendo Wii. And what better way to start than with the flagship title for Nintendo's little white phenomenon; Wii Sports! Like the Wii or not, Wii Sports was a HUGE game. In my opinion, it played a bigger role than any other title in helping the Wii set the record sales numbers it did. Maybe everyone didn't want to play Mario or Zelda, but who doesn't like to go bowling? My guest this week is my buddy Bradley McCue, who was actually the one that suggested Wii Sports as a game for the podcast in the first place. And dammit, it was a hell of a suggestion. A lot of good times (and the odd hole in the wall) with this bad boy. And before we play sports, it's another edition of the 'Remember The Game Infamous Intro'! This time around, we talk about games based on the olympics. Someone asks what would be a harder library to collect; the NES or the PS4? And if I could only keep one of my Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X, which would it be? AND, we have another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', featuring Wii titles Wii Fit, Wii Sports Resort and Wii Party! Are you on social media? Of course you are. So follow us! We'll probably follow you back ;) Twitter: @MemberTheGame Instagram: @MemberTheGame Facebook.com/MemberTheGame Twitch.tv/MemberTheGame
Nick lets us take a peek at the bars in his notes app and his previously unreleased works are made public for the first time. Maybe DONDA didn't drop but at least we have Nick's work. We reached a new milestone on this episode of We Accidentally Vaporized Our Podcast! Longest episode yet! We'd apologize but you're listening to us talk about Percy Jackson for a reason. We will apologize for Lauren's in-depth analysis about Godly birth control methods. So prepare yourself for Chapter 8: We Capture A Flag!
Welcome back, its been like 4 weeks but no we're not dead...yet. On this episode we talk about what we've been up to the past few weeks and we also get into some videogame appreciation conversation centered around Minecraft and a series of Wii games including Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, and the Mario and Sonic Olympic Games series. We then touch on the art of the scheme as it pertains to our time in school this year and years previous and Walter discusses the terror of his writing class. Clearly, it's always a whacky ride over here but thanks for listening anyway. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/blipblopblip/support

Vi tar praten og hører fra lytterne om de vakreste spillene de vet om. Vacation: all you ever wanted? Vacation, *had* to get away? These are the big questions we ask on this episode of LTRT. Vacation Dave takes everyone on a pleasure cruise through this relaxed, Island Time centered episode. Grab your drink and feel that banana wind as we explore Vacations both literal and metaphorical. Dave takes us to a bougie, but comfortable tourist resort. Colin smashes that shit apart in his personalized va-kaiju-ation. Giovanni takes us on a delightful gay-cation. Greg brings us home with more of a stay-cation experience. You can send us your favorite vacation beverages on Facebook and Twitter. You can also find our hot, relaxing videos on our YouTube channel. Lastly, why not get that serious vacation buzz by writing us a nice review on Apple Podcasts. We promise you'll make memories that stay with you forever. Games discussed include Butterfly Soup, Toy Story, Wii Sports Resort, and Godzilla: Monster of Monsters Show Notes: The Perfect Human Body, BBC The Legend of D.B. Wii Sports Resort made the cut on our list of the best games on Wii. Zach and Neal go through all of the sports included in the package. Don't fret, there is plenty of love for the dog catching the frisbee. Check back all month for the rest of the entries in our Best of the Wii series.
We have returned and are about to go a bit retro. Justin, Cole, Ethan, and Justin are in search of a list of fair competitive video games across all of the eras to create new game tournaments for our listeners and for upcoming Horrible Night Outs. Send in your questions to simon@horriblenight.com or @TheHorribleShow We will not be dettered by failed recordings. The Horrible Show is back because before we talk about video games, we know you wanted to hear all about Cole’s reality TV adventures and wherever else the Threesomes of the Week takes us. Actually, we hope you survived the Threesomes enough to make it to our favorite multiplayer memories and our On the Spot question. Where we bring to light the age old question of why would you play Madden when you can play NFL Blitz? This is all of course just to set the mood as we have a real mission this week: to come up with some compelling classic competitive games for game tournanments for our listeners and potentially for upcoming Horrible Night Outs. It’s a veritable free-for-all as we look at games we grew up and onto some current favorites. Which Smash Bros is the best choice? Is Geometry Wars 2 better without shooting? Maybe puzzle games are better than we think they are. Is StarCraft II even an option for new players? I’m sure we don’t have the answers, but we did get a great list out of our discussion. Let us know what games we missed so we can continue build some compelling contests in the near future. Then, we can’t help but announce the next Horrible Night Out on July 8th as we return to Net Heads where we hope to game with our Indy listeners and their friends. On our way off the air, an epiphany strikes Cole and Justin G as they finally discover a use for handheld gaming devices.
