Dr. Chris Rhodes is a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry from UC Davis, and a Nutrition, Biohacking, and Longevity expert who has spent his research career unraveling the mysteries behind intermittent fasting and its incredible ability to optimize health and extend lifespan. During his 8 years of clinical research into prolonged fasting, Dr. Rhodes uncovered that a 36 hour fast was able to greatly enhance the biological function of the human body, taking already young healthy people and optimizing their cellular performance, recovery, and protective systems. Dr. Rhodes discovered that these effects were due to a unique set of molecules that are produced in the body only during long periods of fasting and that these “fasting metabolites” could be used to recreate the beneficial effects of fasting without actually needing to fast. To share this breakthrough with the world, Dr. Rhodes co-founded Mimio Health, a biotech company creating first-of-their-kind biomimetic supplements designed from human biology to optimize health, slow aging, and enhance longevity.Website: https://mimiohealth.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/chrishrhodes/360 Age Reversal: https://www.360agereversalprogram.com/Connect:Dr. Trip Goolsby & LeNae Goolsby are the co-founders of the Infinite Health Integrative Medicine Center, and are also the co-authors of the book “Think and Live Longer”.
Are you or someone you love struggling with mysterious, multi-system symptoms—ranging from skin rashes and digestive issues to migraines and unexplained fatigue? You might have been searching for answers but keep hitting dead ends. If you've ever wondered if these diverse and seemingly unrelated symptoms could be connected, it might be time to consider Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). MCAS is a condition that affects up to 20% of the population, yet it remains underdiagnosed and misunderstood. In today's episode, I'll be walking you through the ins and outs of MCAS, from how it's diagnosed to the practical steps you can take for treatment. If you're feeling frustrated by traditional medicine's inability to connect the dots on your health issues, this episode will provide some much-needed clarity. Let's explore how MCAS could be the missing link in your health journey and what you can do about it. Key Points: What is MCAS and Why It's Misunderstood MCAS is a multi-system inflammatory condition affecting various parts of the body, causing symptoms like skin rashes, digestive issues, and fatigue. Often misunderstood, MCAS can go undiagnosed for years as patients seek answers from multiple specialists. Dr. Dempsey's Journey to MCAS Expertise Dr. Tanya Dempsey shares her personal journey into recognizing MCAS in her patients, explaining how her curiosity and persistence led her to uncover MCAS as a common, yet often overlooked condition affecting many of her patients. How MCAS is Diagnosed: Laboratory Markers and Clinical Features Diagnosing MCAS requires looking at specific clinical features and laboratory markers. Blood and urine tests can reveal mast cell mediators, while biopsies from gastrointestinal scoping procedures can show elevated mast cells in tissue samples. This segment discusses the complexities and difficulties in obtaining a definitive diagnosis. The Role of Triggers in MCAS Identifying triggers is crucial in managing MCAS. Dr. Dempsey explains how some triggers can be environmental, while others may be internal, making them difficult to pinpoint. Understanding your specific triggers is key to effective treatment. Treatment Options for MCAS: Antihistamines and Beyond The first line of treatment often includes antihistamines—both H1 and H2 blockers. This segment covers how trial and error is often needed to find the right combination for each individual. Natural options like Vitamin C and quercetin are also explored, offering listeners alternatives to pharmaceutical interventions. Living with MCAS: Individualized Treatment Approaches One size does not fit all when it comes to managing MCAS. Dr. Dempsey highlights the importance of a personalized approach, where patients must try different treatments systematically to find what works for them. The need for patience and persistence in the journey to wellness is emphasized. Mast Cell Activation Syndrome might be the missing piece in your complex health puzzle. Whether you're dealing with unexplained chronic symptoms or feeling frustrated by a lack of answers, understanding MCAS could bring you closer to relief. The key takeaway from today's episode is that while diagnosing and treating MCAS can be challenging, it is possible—and it starts with understanding your body's unique triggers. With a combination of personalized treatments, patience, and persistence, you can regain control of your health. If any of this sounds familiar, I encourage you to explore MCAS further and, if necessary, find a practitioner knowledgeable in its diagnosis and treatment. Let's continue this journey toward better health—one piece of the puzzle at a time. University of Rochester's Health Lab has pivoted into looking at the patient as a whole, and not just looking at the “broken spring”.In this episode, you'll discover: When it comes to education, there has been two big changes in the orthopedic field. One change being, simulation. Simulation is used by technical simulators that provide haptic feedback, and VR. Virtual Reality has played a role in being able to train surgical residents to develop the 3D space ability and to disassociate where your looking and your hand motion. University of Rochester's Health Lab is working to build a “smart health system.” Dr. Hasselberg defines this as allowing University of Rochester's health system to switch to value based care and leverage all the new data that is collected. E32 Create Your Own Belief System That Serves You & Your Goals 9 Core beliefs that will make you a better Leader and a Coach Lead by example - People do as people see, they are watching you… example of my friend coming late with coffee and newspaper… Respecting Others Take responsibility - accept accountability for the outcomes .. don't blame others. The only person you can change is yourself. Investing in others - When you take the time to invest in others, they will return great value. When you invest in your people you are investing in the future. Maintain Focus - Laser-like focus is needed … suns rays with a magnifying glass can burn… focus is of utmost importance Measuring results - What you measure you can improve Communicate and Connect - Dr. John Maxwell says everyone can communicate but few can connect. Empower Others - Trust the people you are working with and empower them to make decisions and take needed actions. THIS IS A SMALL SAMPLE FROM MY COURSE GUIDANCE TO WEALTH ON BELIEFS ABOUT WEALTH... The Belief you will need to create is that you can actually possess the Wealth. Using this secret, you can develop the mindset of wealth, which will catapult you towards the wealth you may have only wished or dreamed of. This is what we will work on in this module as we progress. Many times we tend to believe that our life is controlled by external factors. Sometimes we have a very strong feeling of accomplishing something, and as we move forward we know no one can stop us, we keep on attracting things that propel us forward, that is what we need to create. Many times we just call it “Luck” and let it go, but if we really dig deeper we see that we had a fixed vision backed by our desire to accomplish it and the desire was so intense that it brought along with it all the seeds of success. See no one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality and you see in your life, in your friend's lives, in your family that so many people have accepted defeat and are going through the life, living for the sake of living and complaining about life and circumstances and blaming others. If you are at a place where you are satisfied and fulfilled, GREAT, but if you are not then it is time to evaluate, and become aware of the workings of your subconscious mind, which has been programmed with these beliefs that are running your life.
