One minute you feel strong, clear-headed, and relieved… and the next you're sobbing in your car wondering if you just destroyed your life. If you feel emotionally unrecognizable during divorce, you are not alone—and you're not “doing it wrong.”In this episode of How Not to Suck at Divorce, attorney Morgan Stogsdill and comedian/marketing guru Andrea Rappaport break down the emotional rollercoaster of divorce—why it happens, why it's normal, and how letting emotions drive decisions can create legal and financial consequences you can't unwind. You'll learn how to adopt emotional neutrality (without becoming emotionless), why realistic expectations protect your sanity, and the exact do's and don'ts that help you stay grounded—especially when kids and co-parenting are involved. What You'll Learn in This EpisodeWhy divorce triggers “emotional whiplash” (relief, guilt, rage, panic, regret—sometimes all at once)The difference between feelings vs. facts in divorce decision-makingWhy emotional highs aren't the problem—expectations areWhy emotional lows don't mean you're making the wrong choiceWhat “emotional neutrality” actually means (and why it's self-preservation)How to ask your attorney for realistic expectations and a Plan BThe biggest mistakes people make when they're activated (and how to avoid them)Practical ways to regulate your nervous system and get off the rollercoaster(Practical Action Steps)If you're in the early stages of divorce—or you're already activated—here's what Andrea and Morgan want you to do:✅ 1) Adopt emotional neutrality“That meeting went well. Okay.”“That meeting didn't go well. Okay.” Neutrality is not numbness. It means your feelings are not in charge.✅ 2) Ask for realistic expectations (every time)When something goes well, ask your attorney:“What's a realistic expectation from here?”“What if this strategy doesn't work—what's our Plan B?”✅ 3) Don't make permanent decisions in temporary emotional statesMorgan's legal rule: if you're activated, you pause—not react.✅ 4) Stabilize with routinePredictable routines regulate your nervous system when your life feels unpredictable.✅ 5) Write it down—don't reactJournal the emotion, then bring it to your therapist (not your attorney). Your attorney is your legal guide—not your emotional support system.✅ 6) Choose ONE safe personAvoid oversharing with people who escalate you (you know who you are, “Tina from the bar”

→ Watch on YouTube → Detailed Show Notes → Timestamps: (00:00) An overview of the The Old Testament.(04:27) Bryce breaks down the Old Testament into nine time periods.(09:41) Canonization and the creation of the Greek Septuagint. The authors of the New Testament quoted the Greek version of the Old Testament. The version that Jesus used is unknown.(13:01) The Old Testament is not one book written by a single author. It is an anthology of books written over centuries by individuals. Later authors sometimes rejected and edited earlier authors. Remnants remain that multiple Gods participated in the creation. The first word in Genesis invites us to consider the Grand Pre-mortal Council.(20:03) The creation accounts address why the world was created, not how. The purpose of the earth is to create eternal families.(33:17) Ancient cultures shared the creation story at their temples during the New Year. The time-honored principle of marriage and family are connected to the purposes of creation.(36:21) Chaos played a role in the formation of the earth. God transformed unorganized matter into something beautiful. The cosmology of the Bible invites modern readers to think about scripture differently.(41:18) The temple takes us to the creation and the creation takes us to the temple because each us back to God.(48:25) Moses 2 and 3 can be read as a single account. This is contrasted with the documentary hypothesis, where scholars believe Genesis 1 and 2 come from two different sources because of differences in the text.(54:21) Seven eternal lessons in the creation account invite us to find success during our time on earth. Finding balance between work and rest.(1:00:29) Seek spiritual things first, then temporal.(1:01:50) Cherubim and a flaming sword foiled Satan's plan and preserved the space between the trees. God protected our probationary estate. God knew from the very beginning that we would sin and need time to repent.(1:13:11) Satan's Plan B is to get us to take away our own or someone else's probationary state. Toxic perfectionism is addressed. Continual progression is what matters to God.(1:16:55) The river flowing out of Eden as a symbol for the division found in mortality. We must find ways to be unified.(1:23:08) Instead of focusing on what we are missing, our focus should be on all our blessings.(1:28:23) Pardes is an acronym to describe the ways of reading scripture: Peshat, remez, derash, and sod. The plain reading (peshat), allegorical or hidden reading (remez), the moral or imperative sense or application (derash), and the mystical, esoteric, or temple reading (sod).(1:30:13) The rib in Genesis 2.22 symbolizes partnership in marriage.(1:38:44) “Helper” or ʿēzer as found in Genesis 2.18 has often been misread and used to subjugate women. The term translated as “help meet” actually denotes the kind of powerful help that God gives. Eve's position next to Adam places both in a setting as having dominion over the whole earth. Eve is called “Zoe” in the LXX, the mother of all the living ones. There is no kingdom without Eve.(1:47:02) Fig leaves can represent covering our sins with bigger and bigger lies.(1:52:47) Garments are a piece of the temple that we wear to remind us of our connection to the Savior's atonement. → For more of Bryce Dunford’s podcast classes, click here. → Enroll in Institute → YouTube → Apple Podcasts → Spotify → Amazon Music → Facebook The post Ep 354 | Genesis 1-2; Moses 2-3; Abraham 4-5, Come Follow Me 2026 (January 12-18) appeared first on LDS Scripture Teachings.

Today's Headlines: Trump's Venezuela operation keeps getting weirder. Nicolás Maduro and his wife pled not guilty in Manhattan court and Maduro insists he's “still president” — despite currently living at the detention center. Trump walked back his claim that Marco Rubio would “run Venezuela,” and is now elevating Stephen Miller to help oversee things with interim leader Delcy Rodriguez — while warning he'll launch more strikes if she doesn't cooperate. Meanwhile, Trump allies say opposition leader María Corina Machado blew her shot at power by… not giving Trump her Nobel Prize. To make things…more chaotic, Trump has started floating similar threats toward Cuba, Mexico, Colombia — and Greenland — prompting Greenland's prime minister to remind him that their country is “not an object of superpower rhetoric.” Congress only got briefed on the Venezuela strikes after the fact, because Trump says lawmakers “leak,” though somehow oil companies heard before and after. Also suspicious: someone made $400k on Polymarket betting Maduro would be deposed in January. Abroad, protests in Iran continue, and a British intel report says Ayatollah Khamenei has a “Plan B” escape route to Moscow if things collapse. In other news, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth censured Sen. Mark Kelly in the first step toward possible rank demotion — all because Kelly appeared in a video noting it's legal to refuse illegal military orders. The administration also slashed the number of recommended childhood vaccines from 17 to 11 — a move that could reshape insurance coverage and access next year and Arizona's Supreme Court building was evacuated after a suspicious package containing homemade explosive material was found. Lastly, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced he won't seek a third term following months of harassment fueled by Trump and right-wing trolls resurfacing an old Somali daycare fraud case. Your hosts tonight are Jeremy Pozderac, Aaron Krieger, Nick Lynch, and me Shawn Herrin, welcome to the show! Text Dear WLS or Reviews +1 743 500 2171 - Dear WLS Chuckin Abox - Hello, I just bought a g-force jawbone 9mm AR9?PCC? It's got a 5.5"" barrel ,an adjustable pistol brace, and takes glock mags. Two questions. What gideon optic would you recommend and what pistol brace would you recommend. Use case will be home defense/truck gun. P.S. No Notes P.P.S. A guy just asked Jeremy if he remembered a cab driver outside ft.leonard wood with a gimpy arm. That guy owns a bar now called bottoms up and big louie's strip club is now Uranus Fudge Factory owned by the same guy Louie lol P.P.PS. I worked at Big Louie's adult store next to the strip club from 01-04 so it's very possible I sold Jeremy his gay porn back in the day.     Harold Ballzanya - I've recently moved to an area that has an indoor shooting range. Outside of normal safety rules, what are some things I should consider before going my first time. Is it acceptable to walk in with your gun in its holster, or should it be in a case. Can I use a holster at all, should it be left on the table when not firing? Are shotguns okay? I'm sure these rules can be answered by a range officer for each individual range but I don't want to come in looking like an idiot. Also what sort of range etiquette is there to be expected of me?     Baklava of Balaklava - Not that many years ago any review of a Turkish gun would be full of comments saying people would never buy a gun from that country as long as the islamofascist tyrant Erdogan was in power. This never seems to happen anymore. What happened with American gun buyers? Erdogan hasn't become less islamofascist or tyrannical in his old age - quite the contrary. And all Turkish foreign sales help continue the dictatorship. Are there countries where the regime is such that the panel would never buy a weapon produced there?     Ed - With all the new guns and gear gun-tubers and social media influencers talk about do you guys feel pressured into carrying all the new stuff? On one hand, I like idea appendix carrying a 17-rd comped pistol with light, optic and extra mag, but I find it to be bulky and uncomfortable most of the time. On the other hand, the simplicity of a pocket snubby or 380 is convenient and comfortable but it's not mainstream.   The winner of this week's swag pack is ED! The Player & The Fan is BACK — and this one pulls no punches. In this long-awaited episode, Chris and Glenn dive headfirst into the chaos surrounding Michigan football, unpacking everything from the Texas game fallout to the behind-the-scenes turmoil that's reshaping the program in real time. They don't rehash headlines—they tell you what's actually been brewing for months. From leadership failures and adult decisions that put players in impossible positions, to why the Texas loss felt like a symptom—not the disease—this episode is an unfiltered look at how distractions, roster instability, and coaching uncertainty collided at the worst possible momentThe conversation then turns to the future:• Why Michigan must attack the transfer portal—especially at quarterback• The uncomfortable truth about QB development, competition, and meritocracy• Why being a five-star (or highly paid) means nothing if you're not producing• How real programs operate when winning—not feelings—is the priorityChris brings the player's perspective fans don't want to hear but need to understand, while Glenn lays out why this moment, painful as it is, may be exactly what Michigan needed to finally clean house and reset the culture the right way. They also break down why the new staff represents a rare Plan B win, how internal power dynamics are shifting, and why competition—not comfort—is the only path back to elite football. This episode isn't about panic. It's about accountability. It's about reality. And it's about what it actually takes to win in modern college football. If you want honesty over hopium—this one's for you.
