I'm on the road in New York City for this week's episode of The Girlfriend Doctor to talk about how to stay healthy and balanced when traveling, no matter what your itinerary is. My first tip is to always travel with a water bottle to stay hydrated. It has to be emptied of course before getting on the plane, but once you've landed, it becomes a lifeline to eliminate toxins and keep bowels regulated. I always take along my Mighty Maca Plus to support the adrenals, detoxification and alkalinization. Plus, I have my Keto Green Shake on hand for some good nutrition if I'm stuck in an airport. For sleep, I use Night-Zzz for a nourishing night of rest, and Balance cream to moisturize and keep hormones balanced. I have many more tips to share with you, so please listen to the podcast! But before I go, I want to emphasize that the most important thing to do when traveling is to prioritize yourself. That includes nourishing yourself, being kind to yourself and forgiving yourself when you go off plan. Happy travels! EP 55: When you are traveling do you ever feel like you're constantly missing something? Do you get told you overpack? Have you ever had a family trip go completely haywire? Missing luggage, sicknesses, no toilet paper? And, if you haven't, let me tell you how to avoid all of this. This minisode is quite the laugh! This week, I use my golden sh*t shovel to dig deep into the origins of my travel medicine bag in a minisode called, “Never Carry-On Luggage In Midlife”. I've recently been posting my medicine bag on my IG and I have been getting so many comments on it! So, I thought I'd share with you the reason behind the medicine bag and why it has become THE essential travel item. I talk about the Kenya community service trip I took with my family, the chaotic events that occurred and why it sparked the medicine bag. I also explain why, as a midlifer, I NEVER just have carry-on luggage. Remember, it's not over packing if you need all of it… This minisode is part of the Fun Midlife Sh*t Quickie Minisode Series. This new minisode series is highlighting resonating & edgy midlife sh*t from my IG, solos, and short pop in guests on stuff we are all thinking about, but maybe too embarrassed to ask…and, of course, more random stream of consciousness rants with loads of sarcasm, relatable humor mixed with expert info. Why would you skip? Some Highlights: Always pack a medicine bag Don't accept judgment for your packing choices Pack for all possible outcomes Don't cut your connecting flights too close Extra tissues and socks are lifesavers! 2020 has been historic and profound due to its own reasons. It has been a difficult year an extraordinary one. In this episode, i took out the time to prepare a travel bag where i revisited this entire year and chose things i would still want to take to 2021 in my travel bag and things i would want to discard.I think it is really important to open this dialogue where we bring forth our stories and share what we all are taking in our travel bags to 2021.Because we all are different and present a scope to learn and inspire. This is the last episode of the year. Here is me wishing a lovely new year and warm, love filled end to this one.
Thus week's episode goes completely off the rails, as I talk with Less Than Jake's Chris DeMakes, who wants to talk about anything other than the new single (Anytime, Anywhere) and the new record (Silver Linings). Travel Gluten Free Podcast Episode 83 Gluten-Free Travel Skincare, Body Care and Cosmetics Welcome to Spring Into Health! A series podcasts dedicated to health, healing and auto-immune disease. Lemongrass Spa - My Favorite Skincare Line Today I'd like to share with you my favorite skincare line - Lemongrass Spa. I interviewed Karen Smith, a skin consultant for the line on episode 55, I’d highly recommend you listen to that episode if you haven’t yet. I met Karen at the Nourished Festival in Denver last year and tried Healing Elements at her suggestions. She said this was the best cosmetic lotion for dry skin. I have really dry skin and have yet to find a skin cream that keeps me moisturized for 24 hours. To my surprise, Healing Elements did the trick! Additionally, I found out that not only are all their products natural and free from over 100 chemicals, the business is female-owned and all (but one) of their products are 100% gluten-free! I bought a few items and ended up becoming a consultant for Lemongrass Spa. Full disclosure: ordering from Lemongrass Spa links on this page financially supports the TGF show. You get safe, amazing gluten-free cosmetics and in return, get to support the information you love! Spa Products that are Eco Friendly Did you know the average amount of chemicals in your skincare? This is scary, there are, on average, 25 chemicals in each of the cosmetics you use on a daily basis! That’s right, you are putting an average of 25 chemicals onto the largest organ in your body - your skin. Two offenders with the highest amount of toxins are lipstick at 33 toxins and sunscreen and body lotion at 32 toxins. Why is eco-friendly, non-toxic skincare important to me? I have cancer in my family on both sides, low thyroid, and celiac disease. I’m swapping out my skin and body care essentials I own now for lemongrass spa products. Great Idea to Beat COVID Boredom! COVID has created a crazy, unpredictable time and space in our lives. You may be wondering what to do with your time? Treat yourself to a DIY Spa Day - don't you deserve it? Absolutely!
