Following up from one of the show's most popular episodes, Productive Conversations, Nate takes on the challenging topic of Racial and Gender bias using content from the Women's Basketball Championship game which was won by LSU over Iowa.Nate uses comments from Dave Portnoy and Emmanuel Acho to illustrate the "two sides" of this argument, and then explains his bold point of view that many media members and media companies are *claiming* to use their platform to advance the efforts of Diversity & Inclusion, but their actions may actually be counterproductive to that very mission.  He gives an impassioned plea for influencers to stop calling people OUT, and instead to start calling people IN, so that the conversation can truly be productive towards advancing equality. This week we’re going to be sharing a few mistakes we’re seeing aspiring bloggers and influencers make. We’ve personally made some of these mistakes so we want you to be aware and learn from these mistakes so you can focus on growing and establishing your brand.Mistake #1: Spending money on courses when they haven’t started a blog a yetIn 2020, there’s a massive amount of online courses you can take about how to pitch to brands or step up your Instagram game. While all of these courses can be helpful to your journey, they may not be the right thing to focus on if you’re just getting started.You probably could take a new course about Instagram or blogging every single week for a year – but until you actually launch your blog, you can’t apply any of this information you’ve learned. If you want to start a blog in 2020, you must start a blog. If you want to start an Instagram account or TikTok, you must start an account on those platforms.Mistake #2: Focus on making money when they haven’t made any contentBlogging can be a great side hustle or full time job that earns you money – but this does NOT happen overnight. This takes time. Just because you change over to an Instagram business account and launch your website doesn’t mean that people will start flocking to your website and driving up your page views and engagement. If your ultimate goal is to make money with blogging, you have to create content, build an engaged audience, and understand how to work with brands. We personally recommend building up at least 6 months’ worth of content before you start asking for money from brands. Mistake #3: Getting caught up and frustrated in the follow/unfollow gameThis is NOT a productive way to spend your time as a blogger and content creator. What other people do with follow/unfollow does NOT affect your ability to create content or engaged with your audience. Instead of getting caught up in the F/UF game, you should focus on meaningful content to your audience. Steelers 17 Rams 12The Steelers suppressed the LA Rams, holding them to 3 points. Unfortunately the offense gave up 9 points en route to a 17-12 victory.How good is this defense really? In this game, it held the Charges to 2 of 10 on 3rd down. Further, it held the Chargers in check, preventing them from passing the 50 yard line on only 5 of 15 possessions.TurnoversThe Steelers have recovered 12 fumbles and 14 interceptions, placing them second in turnovers to the Patriots.In the course of the last decade, we have only exceeded 26 turnover twice IN A FULL SEASON! In 2015 the Steelers had 17 fumble recoveries and 13 INTs (with Mike Mitchell getting 3 INTs). Going back to 2010 Pittsburgh had 21 recoveries and 14 INTs, with Troy Polamalu getting 7 INTs.The Black & Gold are currently #1 in QB pressures and #2 in sacks (33). Speaking of which, Cam Heyward is now the 7th Steeler to have 50 career sacks. He joins an illustrious group: James Harrison, Jason Gildon, Joey Porter, Keith Willis, LaMarr Woodley, Greg Lloyd.Remember the fear we endured each time an opposing QB dropped back to pass? He threw a few more balls downfield (not just go-balls). It was his worst completion % of the season (57%), but he was victimized by his own receivers who dropped 5 passes. It was also the most times he was sacked (3); but he’s the least-sacked QB in the league (9).Although he was pretty poised as usual, he had the Same issues with lollipops to middle field and sailing passes over 10yds. Unfortunately, this offense is still totally dink-n-dunk and the coaches don’t trust them to win game (another 3 & out run series instead of icing game in the 4th).The Young WRs Give & Take AwayJames Washington had a great red zone catch for a TD, but also allowed himself to be stripped while on his way to at 50 gain.Diontae Johnson effectively ran his drag routes, pulling in 4 receptions for 64 yards, but dropping a 30 yard pass and fumbling a punt.Juju Smith-Schuster had an early drop, but was able to get 20 yards on a slant catch, and pulled in a first down catch at the sideline on a free play.Jaylen Samuels, ineffective in the ground game, managed a 3rd down drop .There is huge POTENTIAL from this group: Washing is as advertised from preseason; Johnson UNREAL lateral quickness.Mike Tomlin is proving his worthThis is where he is at his best - when team is counted out. He’s an incredible motivator. Unfortunately he offers no schematic advantages (Lebeau & Munchak helped).
