Con Javier López, director CEO de SilverGold patrimonio, analizamos la situación del oro después de que Estados Unidos llegue a un acuerdo comercial con China. Añade que si “queremos inversiones estables no podemos ir a los metales industriales aunque siempre lo primero es la formación, para ver que según las preferencias del cliente”. Para él, “que con una joya puede haber otros impuestos, por eso a los efectos de inversión como tal siempre recomendamos lingotes o monedas, todo esto lo consideramos peso a peso”.

James (incumbent), Ralph Wayne Winkler Ward I, Paul C. Guttenberg, David Winkler (incumbent)Ward II, Richard Gilpin, Patrick McCormick Ward III, Tarinna Olley, Gregory Sampson, Jr. Ward IV, Tyjon C "TJ" Johnson – unopposed   Questions were provided to the candidates before the forum. Format:2-minute opening statement 2-minute response to three questions 2-minute closing statement All candidates were requested to provide written or video responses after the form ended.  The forum was recorded. This was an informative event. Then swim under the lane line to the next lane and repeat the process until athletes have completed a lap in six lanes for a total of 300 meters. Please include advice about: *passing when someone is coming back down the same lane ( possibility of 3 abreast) *does it matter if you pass on the right or left of the athlete? *touch & kick off OR flip when returning down the SAME lane *your technique for getting under the lane rope and heading off again *explain the mind set, as I'm used to open water races and I want to dominate Thank you in advance! I listen to your podcasts during long, indoor bike sessions. You make me feel a part of the triathlon world. I get your email notifications for Grit2Greatness Endurance. I hope the following specifics aid you in your response to me. I don't like adding the anxiousness of "how" to execute the swim, so any advice is welcome! The race is May 3, so I have time to practice what you suggest. I've done 2 serpentine swim races and the biggest issues for me were:  *passing through the congestion of swimmers returning down the lane *swimmers resting at the wall and thusly blocking the ability to push-off/flip-turn *choosing which side to pass a swimmer on that is meandering   Dear Ruth, This serpentine swim format presents some unique challenges, but with the right strategies, you can navigate the congestion smoothly and maintain momentum throughout the race. Here are a few strategies: 1. Passing Through Lane Congestion Strategic Positioning: Start strong to secure a front position and avoid major bottlenecks early on. If starting later, be mentally prepared for more congestion. Breath Control & Awareness: Practice bilateral breathing to keep an eye on approaching swimmers. This helps with timing a pass effectively. Speed Bursts: Rather than attempting a sustained faster pace, use short, controlled accelerations to overtake when space opens up.   2. Dealing With Swimmers Blocking the Wall Adaptable Turn Techniques: If a flip turn isn't possible, opt for an open turn with a powerful push-off at an angle. Underwater Exit: If the lane rope transition is congested, avoid surface-level interference by streamlining under the resting swimmers while transferring to the next lane. Pre-race Observation: Before starting, assess common bottleneck areas—know which lanes tend to clog near the walls and mentally prepare alternate strategies. Communicate: Before the race, talk to the 3-4 swimmers ahead of you to come to a working agreement that if you get your toes tapped, move to the side at the next wall. 3. Choosing the Best Side to Pass a Meandering Swimmer (if you can't pass at the wall) Reading Body Language: Observe patterns in how the swimmer moves—does their meandering have a rhythm? Predict their next movement before passing. Firm Commitment: Once you initiate a pass, sticking to your chosen side with confidence to prevent hesitation that could slow you down or cause contact. Gentle Tap: If someone is repeatedly veering into her path, a subtle tap or verbal signal can alert them without disrupting their rhythm. Practice these strategies in training sessions with other swimmers to simulate race-day conditions. This combination of communication, awareness, adaptability, and assertiveness will make all the difference. Mañana, 19 de abril, se conmemora el bicentenario del primer hito de los hechos históricos de 1825: el Desembarco de los 33 Orientales. 1825 marcó un punto de inflexión y sentó las bases para el nacimiento de un país nuevo. Podríamos armar una lista con las fechas clave que cumplen 200 años en este 2025: el abrazo del Monzón entre Juan Antonio Lavalleja y Fructuoso Rivera; las grandes batallas en Rincón y Sarandí; y, por supuesto, la Declaratoria de Independencia, en agosto. Pero todo ese camino comenzó aquel 19 de abril, cuando 33 hombres -que eran más que 33 y no eran todos orientales- arribaron a la playa de la Agraciada, en lo que hoy es el departamento de Soriano. Habían partido desde Buenos Aires y llevaban varios días surcando las aguas donde se mezclan los ríos de La Plata, Uruguay y Paraná, esquivando entre las islas a la vigilancia del Imperio del Brasil. Con el liderazgo de Lavalleja y Manuel Oribe, más Rivera luego, esos hombres juntarían un ejército y volverían a encender en el pueblo oriental la mecha de la libertad, que se había apagado con la derrota artiguista. El imperio opresor era otro: el brasileño en lugar del español; el barón Carlos Federico Lecor en lugar del gobernador Gaspar de Vigodet. Pero la opresión era la misma. Aquel 19 de abril de 1925 se iniciaba la historia de un pequeño David contra un Goliat imperial. En estos momentos, un grupo de “cruzados” recorre las mismas aguas, repasando el recorrido de los libertadores para llegar mañana sábado a las 10 a la playa de la Agraciada y dar inicio a los festejos. ¿Qué les despierta a los tertulianos el aniversario? Scott Petsel, President of Metallic Minerals (TSX.V:MMG – OTCQB:MMNGF),  joins me for a comprehensive review of all the work to date at both the Keno Silver Project in the Yukon and the La Plata Copper Project in Colorado.  Then we take a deeper dive into the Australia Creek gold alluvial claims and how the current operator has now added a 2nd project to their 2025 work program, giving Metallic Minerals a 2nd paying and producing royalty for this year.   We lead off discussing all the prior year's drilling that has been completed at the Keno Silver project, which led into the inaugural NI-43-101 mineral resource estimate last year. This was a key milestone for this Project which defined 18.16 million ounces of silver equivalent (inferred), over 4 deposits (Formo, Fox, Caribou and Homestake). The board is currently evaluating next steps for the work programs at Keno Silver for later in the season.   Next we pivoted over to the developing exploration strategy, ongoing groundwork, and targeting for this year at the La Plata Copper-Silver Project, following up on the prior 4 drill holes over 4,530 meters in 2023, and the foundational field season in 2024 looking at a number of new porphyry target across their land package with their strategic partners at Newmont Corporation. Newmont has maintained their 9.5% strategic equity investment in Metallic Minerals due to their interest in the prospectivity for both copper and precious metals at the La Plata Project. Scott outlines that those 4500 meters drilled have not yet been added into the existing 1.21-billion-pound copper and 17.6-million-ounce silver inferred mineral resource, and that the upcoming resource update will also add in resource values from gold, platinum, and palladium for the first time; which have not previously been included.   Wrapping up Scott unpacks the announcement on April 15th highlighting the signing of a new production royalty agreement for a mile of alluvial gold claims at its Australia Creek property in the Klondike Gold District, Yukon Territory. This agreement builds on Metallic Minerals gold royalty business in 2025, with an experienced mining operator, who brings over 40 years of gold mining experience in the Yukon. This marks the second agreement at Australia Creek expanding the Company's leased ground to over two miles from the original one-mile lease in Australia Creek, which gives the company at least two gold mining operations on its Klondike Gold District claims for the 2025 season; with discussions underway with other potential operators on other properties. Hoy quiero presentarles al bandoneonista y compositor Bruno Cabadas. Lo conocí personalmente en diciembre de 2022 cuando estuve en Buenos Aires. Ya toqué una de sus composiciones muy animada y divertida, la Milonga pa'l Pichi. Desde entonces la he grabado en nuestro último CD Reflejos. Bruno dedicó esta milonga a su abuelo. Bruno nació en Ayacucho, provincia de Buenos Aires, en 1987. Empezó a tocar la guitarra a los 15 años. Pero Bruno escuchaba a su abuelo y a su tío abuelo tocar el bandoneón desde su más tierna infancia. A los 19 años, decidió dedicarse a este instrumento y recibió clases de su abuelo, aunque por aquel entonces estaba más interesado en el Rock Nacional que en el tango. Luego estudió en la Facultad de las Artes de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata, donde ahora esta enseñando. Escuchen ustedes mismos todo   lo que Bruno Cabadas , este dinámico y versátil compositor y bandoneonista, me contó en diciembre de 2022, mientras toda Argentina vivía la fiebre del fútbol.

China concluyó este miércoles sus maniobras militares de dos días alrededor de Taiwán, isla sobre la que reivindica su soberanía. Unos ejercicios con fuego real y con un simulacro de bloqueo y ataques contra puertos e infraestructuras energéticas claves. Todo indica que se trata de una advertencia. Parece que a Pekín no le han sentado muy bien los últimos comentarios del mandatario de Taiwán, Lai Ching-te, y por eso habría lanzado esta nueva maniobra militar."Estos ejercicios nos llegan relativamente poco tiempo después de que el actual presidente de Taiwán haya calificado a la República Popular China como fuerza hostil extranjera. Y remarcamos este punto: 'Extranjera'. Esto, obviamente, da a entender otro sutil mensaje y quizás no tan sutil, de la intención de cierta parte de la dirigencia política en Taiwán de ir separándose de China", explica Diego Riddick, secretario del Centro de Estudios Chinos de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata, en Argentina. Eso no quiere decir, sin embargo, que vaya a haber un ataque militar inminente contra Taiwán. Al menos si no se cruza una línea roja bien definida por los chinos."La República Popular China en esto es muy concisa y muy clara. La reunificación de Taiwán con China es un hecho inminente. Así lo ha calificado Xi Jinping y sistemáticamente la República Popular China establece que esta reunificación con Taiwán se va a llevar a cabo de manera pacífica y de manera consensuada, siguiendo el famoso consenso de 1992 entre ambos lados de los estrechos. Ahora bien, esto no descarta el uso de la fuerza militar, si Taiwán decide declarar unilateralmente la independencia", precisa el experto. Aunque China desarrolla frecuentemente ejercicios militares de intimidación en el estrecho que separa al continente de la isla, estas últimas maniobras han pillado desprevenido a más de uno, como a Estados Unidos. Washington reconoce a China como país, estableció relaciones diplomáticas en 1979, pero se abstiene de indicar en qué circunstancias intervendrían militarmente para defender a Taiwán. Es lo que se conoce como "la ambigüedad estratégica"."Replicando lo que dice de alguna manera Washington, no dando el aviso de estas maniobras, China interpreta que no debe dar ningún tipo de aviso ni de señal en este sentido. ¿Por qué? Porque (para ellos) la cuestión de Taiwán es un asunto interno de la República Popular China que bajo ningún concepto puede discutir con poderes foráneos", concluye Diego Riddick.
