Heute früh, als ich nach dem Wachwerden aus dem Fenster geguckt habe, war ich doch mehr als überrascht: Die wunderbar grünen Wiesen hatten einen weißen Hauch. Es hat leichten Nachtfrost gegeben und das ist gar nicht so ohne: Viele Pflanzen und Blüten, die sich schon gut gezeigt haben, können durch Frost um diese Zeit noch ernsthaft gefährdet werden und später die Ernte geringer ausfallen lassen. Aber dann ist mir auch eingefallen: Wir haben die Eisheiligen. So nennen wir die Heiligen, die zwischen dem 11. und 15. Mai ihren Gedenktag haben und es genau diese Zeit ist, in der es oft noch eine kalte Luftmassenbewegung über Europa gibt und alles, was durch den warmen Frühling schon gekommen ist, noch gefährden kann.Über diese Tage der Eisheiligen gibt es viele Sprüche und Bauernregeln zum Beispiel: "Vor Nachtfrost Du nie sicher bist, bis die Sophie vorüber ist" oder auch: "Vor Bonifaz kein Sommer, nach Sophie kein Frost". Die Heiligen, die diese Tage prägen, sind alle aus der frühchristlichen Zeit zwischen 300 und 400 nach Christus. Von Mamertus weiß man, dass er Bischof war und auf ihn zum Beispiel die Bittprozessionen zurückgehen, die in vielen Gegenden vor Christi Himmelfahrt gehalten werden und meist um eine gute Ernte bitten. Pankratius ist in Rom den Märtyrertod gestorben und Servatius und Bonifatius von Tarsus waren Bischöfe. Und Sophie ist 304 als Märtyrerin für ihren Glauben an Christus gestorben.Das waren also Menschen, die Christus nachgefolgt sind und eher Heißblütige als Eisheilige. Menschen, die mit ihrer Glaubenskraft allen Widrigkeiten getrotzt haben und eher in den Tod gegangen sind, als dass sie ihren Glauben verleugnet hätten. Wahrscheinlich weiß man von daher bis heute von ihnen und feiert ihre Gedenktage. Ich denke, dass es ein guter Tipp in diesen Tagen ist: Seien wir ein bisschen mehr heißblütige Christen, die sich trauen für das, was sie glauben einzustehen und nicht Eisheilige, in deren Umgebung alles starr und kalt und festgefroren scheint.

Der neue Papst Leo XIV. wird nach Ansicht seines Bruders in die Fußstapfen seines Vorgängers Franziskus treten. Robert habe sich immer für die Armen eingesetzt, und für alle die, die keine Stimme haben, sagte John Prevost. Er gehe davon aus, dass Robert bei sozialöen Themen "ein zweiter Franziskus" sein werde. Ähnliche Erwartungen an den neuen Papst äußerten auch katholische Bischöfe in Deutschland. Die evangelische Kirche in Niedersachsen erklärte, in seinen ersten Worten nach der Wahl habe er deutlich gemacht, wie wichtig für ihn der Einsatz für weltweiten Frieden sei.

Es war der erste Arbeitstag des neuen Papstes. Leo, der Vierzehnte hat eine Messe in der sixtinischen Kapelle im Vatikan geleitet - dort, wo er am Tag zuvor zum Pontifex gewählt worden war. Wie hat sich der 69-Jährige präsentiert? Und welche Erwartungen werden mit ihm verbunden? Darum geht es in unserem Thema des Tages. Er ist US-Amerikaner, 69 Jahre alt aber man darf vermuten, dass er bewusst als Gegengewicht zur derzeitigen amerikanischen Isolationspolitik gewählt wurde. Robert Prevost hat die meiste Zeit seines Wirkens in Lateinamerika verbracht. Dass er Franziskus nachfolgt, der auch Lateinamerikaner war und dass er den Namen Leo trägt, macht ebenfalls Hoffnung. Denn Leo der 13. war ein sozialer Papst. Auch der älteste aller Päpste, Leo der 13. Wurde 93 Jahre alt. Im Jahre 1891 verschickt Papst Leo XIII. seine Gedanken über soziale Gerechtigkeit an seine Bischöfe. "Rerum novarum", die erste Sozialenzyklika, legt den Grundstein für die katholische Soziallehre. "Was den Menschen adelt und ihn zu der ihm eigenen Würde erhebt, das ist der vernünftige Geist.“Keiner hatte damit gerechnet, dass ausgerechnet in der jetzigen Weltsituation ausgerechnet ein US-Amerikaner Papst werden würde. Ich meine, es ist bestmöglichst gelaufen. Der neue Papst ist relativ jung, ein sozialer Papst es ist davon auszugehen, dass er wie sein Vorgänger Franziskus sich den Menschen zuwenden wird, die der Hilfe und Fürsorge besonders bedürfen. Friede sei mit Euch allen – das waren die ersten Worte des neuen Hoffnungsträgers der 1,4 Milliarden Menschen umfassenden römisch-katholischen Kirche. Und was ist mit den Frauen? Ein Zitat von Kardinal Robert Prevost aus vergangener Zeit lässt zumindest hoffen: Die Zeitabläufe in der katholischen Kirche sind langsamer als in der schnelllebigen Gesellschaft, sagte der Prevost sinngemäß. Aber er hat auch nich ausgeschlossen, dass Frauen irgendwann zum Priesteramt geweiht werden. Möge es so sein, dass es noch zu Lebzeiten von Leo dem 14. geschieht. Das wäre ein wichtiger Meilenstein des Nachfolgers von Franziskus und würde auch dessen Bemühungen um Reformen zur Vollendung führen. 250505PC: Mutig. Stark. Beherzt.Mensch Mahler am 05.05.2025Ich bin noch ganz geflasht. Der 39. Evangelische Kirchentag in Hannover war einfach ein Fest. Ein Fest des Glaubens. Ein Fest der Musik. Ein Fest der Vielfalt, der Begegnung, der Demokratie. Demokratie war das beherrschende Thema: Zum einen, weil am Freitag das Urteil des Verfassungsgerichts bekannt wurde, nach dem die ganze AfD gesichert als rechtsextrem gelten kann und zum anderen weil Donald Trump natürlich die Podien beherrschte. In der Abschlusspredigt kam auch Vicepresdident J.D. Vance zur Sprache. Und Franziskus, Gott hab ihn selig. J.D.Vance wollte die Liebe Gottes zuerst für seine Familie in Anspruch nehmen und dann für die Nation. Wenn noch etwas übrig ist, vielleicht auch noch für den Rest der Welt. Ihm widersprach Papst Franziskus noch zu Lebzeiten – denn Gottes Liebe gilt ausnahmslos und unterschiedslos allen Menschen und der ganzen Schöpfung. So sagte es auch die Predigerin des Abschlussgottesdienstes, die Theologin Prof. Dr. Hanna Reichel. „Nicht Gott gehört uns, Mr. Vance, wir gehören Gott“. Nichts und niemand kann uns trennen von der Liebe Gottes. Uns alle. Bischöfin Mariann Budde, ja, genau die, die Trump im Gottesdienst bei seiner Ernennung zum Präsidenten ins Gewissen geredet hat, erntete auf dem Kirchentag großen Applaus. Sie hatte Trump zur Barmherzigkeit aufgerufen, zur Barmherzigkeit gegenüber denen, die Jetzt Angst haben, vor dem was kommt. Dazu gehört die Queere Community, die Migranten, die Arbeitslosen ohne Krankenversicherung. Trump hatte die sogenannte Bischöfin als linksradikale Trump-Hasserin verspottet, die Rede sei dumm und scheußlich gewesen. Nicht so Franziskus und der Kirchentag, Budde wurde für ihren Mut gefeiert – mit Standing Ovations. Bundestagspräsidentin Julia Klöckner ließ sich auch blicken und verteidigte ihre Aussage, die Kirchen sollten sich weniger um Tempolimits kümmern und bei ihrer Kernkompetenz Leben und Tod bleiben. Der Kirchentag widersprach: Wir mischen uns ein, Tag für Tag und wir werden die Demokratie verteidigen. So war es ein politischer – aber auch ein spiritueller Kirchentag. Mutig. Stark. Beherzt. Donnerstagsfeiertage in Deutschland sind sehr beliebt. Weil sich mit einem Urlaubstag daran gehängt und dem Wochenende vier freie Tage ergeben. Solche Tage zwischen Feiertag und Wochenende heißen Brückentage und diese Formulierung ist interessant. Rein bedeutungstechnisch heißen sie so, weil dieser Freitag heute eine Brücke baut zwischen dem Maifeiertag und dem Wochenende. Wie füllen Sie Ihren Brückentag? Ausschlafen, ohne Stress zusammen frühstücken, einen Kurzurlaub machen oder Freunde, Familie besuchen? Oder den Garten auf Vordermann bringen und zuhause Sachen erledigen, die immer liegen bleiben. Oder, oder, oder. Es gibt so viele Möglichkeiten. Eine Formulierung, die ich dieser Tage gehört habe, gefällt mir da sehr gut. Es hieß: bringen wir doch nicht nur den Garten, sondern auch unsere Kirche mal wieder auf Vordermann, auf Vorderfrau. Die Redewendung an sich bedeutet, etwas wieder in Ordnung bringen, aufräumen, einen Ursprungszustand wieder herstellen. Eigentlich kommt diese Formulierung aus dem Militär. Bei Appellen oder Paraden sind die Soldaten in so geraden Reihen aufgestellt, dass man durch die Reihen hindurchgehen kann. Das kann nur passieren, weil sich die hinteren Reihen genau am Vordermann orientieren. Ich denke nicht, dass wir als Christinnen und Christen parademäßig marschieren müssen. Aber sich orientieren an Vordermann und Vorderfrau ist nicht so schlecht. Zunächst auf Jesus Christus zu schauen und ihm nachzufolgen, ist der Anfangsauftrag aller Getauften. Und dann waren und sind andere Vordermänner und -Frauen immer schon hilfreich gewesen zu schauen, wie das denn gehen kann. Zunächst waren es die Apostel und die große Zahl der Jüngerinnen und Jünger aus dem Umfeld Jesu und die, die durch ihre Verkündigung zum Glauben gekommen sind. Später waren es Heilige, Ordensgründer, Bischöfe und noch ganz viele Menschen mehr, an denen sich nachfolgende Generationen orientiert haben. Es ist sehr zu wünschen und zu hoffen, dass in unserer Zeit, in unserem Land, in unserer Kirche wir alle zu Vorderfrauen und Vordermännern werden, an denen sich Mitmenschen orientieren könnten und somit zu Brückenbauern zwischen den Menschen und zwischen den Menschen und Gott werden können. Bringen wir doch unsere Kirche auf Vordermann und auf Vorderfrau!

Ihre Predigt nach der Amtseinführung von Donald Trump ging um die Welt: die amerikanische Bischöfin Mariann Edgar Budde bat Trump darin um Barmherzigkeit gegenüber den Menschen, die nach seinem Amtseintritt in Angst lebten, sexuelle Minderheiten, Immigranten, Menschen, die vor Krieg und Verfolgung in die USA geflüchtet waren. Und sie bat ihn, das Land nicht weiter zu spalten. Diese Predigt erforderte Mut. Budde hatte sich schon fünf Jahre früher während der Black-Lives-Matter-Proteste gegen Trump gestellt. Das war damals der Ausgangspunkt für ihr Buch "Mutig sein", das jetzt inklusive ihrer Predigt im S. Fischer Verlag auf deutsch erschienen ist. Gerd Nefzer aus Schwäbisch Hall ist den diesjährigen Oscar-Verleihungen zum dritten Mal für die besten visuelle Effekte ausgezeichnet worden – für seine Mitwirkung am Film „Dune: Part 2“. Die begehrte Trophäe hatte er bereits 2022 für den ersten Teil von „Dune“ sowie 2018 für „Blade Runner 2049“ erhalten. Es seit vielleicht die schönste Oscar-Show bisher gewesen, sagte Nefzer am Morgen nach der Preisverleihung im Gespräch mit SWR Kultur. Das Gefühl, bei diesem Ereignis dabei zu sein, sei einfach unbeschreiblich: „Ich stehe ja nicht oft mit echten Stars auf dem roten Teppich. Das wird nie zur Routine.“. Die verlangten Spezialeffekte für „Dune 2“ seien sehr aufwändig gewesen. Die größte Herausforderung war die Schlüsselszene, in der Hauptdarsteller Timothy Chalamet auf einem Sandwurm reitet. „Regisseur Denis Villeneuve hat uns gesagt: wenn diese Szene nicht gut ist, ist der ganze Film nichts.“ Trotz digitaler Nachbearbeitungen und Ergänzungen stecke in solchen Szenen immer noch sehr komplizierte selbstgebaute Mechanik, erklärt der Spezialeffekt-Künstler. Nefzer ist eigentlich studierter Agrartechniker und kam in den späten 1980er-Jahren durch seinen Schwiegervater und seinen Schwager zum Filmgeschäft. Beide betrieben damals einen Film-Auto-Verleih in Schwäbisch-Hall. Mit Nefzers Einstieg wurde die Spezial-Effekte-Sparte ausgebaut. Trotz einer Filiale in Potsdam-Babelsberg hat die Firma ihren Haupsitz aber immer noch in der Kleinstadt am Kocher. „Es ist schön hier, und ich bin nicht so der Typ für Großstädte“, so Nefzer. Außerdem hat er immer noch Kontakt zu den landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben, in denen er vor Jahrzehnten seine Ausbildung gemacht hat – um den Kopf freizubekommen vom Filmgeschäft, hilft er dort gerne mal aus, am liebsten beim Traktorfahren.
