It is a privilege to welcome recording artist WOWASHWOW as a guest of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Known as the Queen of the Bop, WOWASHWOW has a flare for the theatrical and a freestyling fluency fierce enough to threaten the male-dominated hip-hop scene and brings an “unbridled bravado thorough no holds barred, unapologetic rhymes.” On top of releasing her music, WOWASHWOW hopped onto Love Bailey's song, “Hornatia,” near the end of 2022, and PAPER Magazine referred to her vocals as “commanding” and “hypnotic.” Following its release, “Hornatia” was an official selection short for the Cannes Film Festival. The Los Angeles transplant has played over 15 shows in two years, opened for Snoop Dogg and Travis Barker, appeared at the 2022 Soul Train Awards, charted number 115 on the Hot 300 List, and was featured in Earmilk and iHeartRadio's Arena Podcast. Her music has been on regular radio rotation on the City of Angels' KQBH 101.5 FM. So far this year, she has been nominated to perform on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert, performed at San Francisco Pride and Venice Pride Festivals, and debuted some of her work at the iconic LA music venue Hotel Café. In this edition of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, WOWASHWOW previewed her upcoming album, The Algorithm, which is scheduled to be released on July 7, 2023. She also shared the stories behind her songs, including “Class Enrollment,” “Pu$$i Power,” and “Rick Ross.”

He also recalls being a dancer on Taylor Swift's Fearless tour around the same time he came out, his favorite T Swift tune and the sweet note Taylor wrote to him. Sacrifices must be made to make it to the top of the music world. No one knows this better than Dixon James, who promised his wife they would get there. In this haunting message of hope and despair, mother and daughter singers have been separated for over twenty years by race, wealth, fame, and a heroin addiction. They long to find one another…. Before it's too late. In the tradition of a Greek tragedy, the journey is never straightforward. Susannah B is an accomplished singer-songwriter, screenwriter and actor. A Los Angeles resident for most of her adult life, Susannah (aka Susannah Blinkoff) grew up in Manhattan as the daughter of well-known Broadway composer/lyricist Carol Hall. From an early age, Susannah was acting off-Broadway and singing professionally in NYC clubs. At Brown University, she met her longtime friend, director Drew Ann Rosenberg. As an actor, Susannah has appeared on Broadway and in film and TV. She co-wrote the film BELLYFRUIT and collaborated on the title song with composer/producer Stephen Bray (Madonna, THE COLOR PURPLE). She is currently writing a comedic musical TV series with author Annabelle Gurwitch. As a singer, Susannah B has performed at many clubs in L.A. including Hotel Café and Catalina Jazz Club. Hey, y'all. I am Shay. This is thebuzzr podcast. On air indie, from my pad to yours over the airways. Tonight I chat with RALPHY. Ralphy is an Aussie creative making waves in the LA music scene, well known for her incredible live shows. Enjoy the show! Thank you for tuning in. Enjoy the show! 10 P.M. EST at https://www.thebuzzrpod.com Track lineup: “Unplugged” during the show. Cheers! Shay From the Artist There must be something in the water down under, because here comes another amazing Aussie making waves here in the US. In 2016 Ralphy made a huge splash in the LA scene with her single ‘Lover', the passionate forerunner to her debut album ‘PeaceLover'. Since then she's received an overwhelming response to her heart-pounding music and electric live performances, taking LA by storm as an independent pop sensation. While her simmering, sultry singing is the most striking Ralphy quality, what this stage siren has really become most widely known for is her incredible live shows. With their dynamic choreography and high-fashion dance aesthetic, Ralphy captures the true meaning of performance, elevating her audience into a beautiful space of love, freedom, and expression. As a proud advocate of equal rights and an ardent supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, this is what Ralphy's all about: “I just want the world to remember gratitude and how good it feels to be in the moment, have fun, and respect each other. We are all so lucky to have this thing called life and we owe it to ourselves to live it with LOVE.” Ralphy never breaks her stride: after a whirlwind two years performing at quintessential Los Angeles venues, including the Hotel Café main room, the Viper Room, Rage, The Rose, The Mint, El Cid, and more, 2019 was a prolific recording year. Things kicked things off with the release of her hotly anticipated single ‘Hesitate', a slick R&B number that was a stylistic departure from her previously more disco-inspired grooves, which was followed by ‘Stones', a smoldering collaboration with Brazilian pop singer Tiago and LA R&B singer Justin Green. Ralphy then rounded out the season with the release of ‘Can't Sleep', her darkest track yet, with its moody, ‘80s new wave feel. Despite the unprecedented global social climate of the following year, 2020 marked the release of still more singles: the emotional ‘Confess' and up-and-at-‘em ‘Dancing on a HeartBreak'. Not only did she continue to deliver heartfelt, high-energy hits, but she did one better: Ralphy performed in a number of live virtual shows, proving that her captivating performances translate across mediums. This year saw Ralphy's return to the stage with her first in-person show post-pandemic, her Out From Under concert. This triumphant, electrifying return marked the start of more great things to come from this artist, including remixes of her most recent singles, plus an acoustic version of Confess, and more. So keep your eyes and ears open—you definitely won't want to miss what Ralphy has happening next! https://youtu.be/-kT6dfXeHww Directed by Maya Miller- Edited Matthew Diebler - Styled & Ralphy Makeup & Hair - Ralphy Facebook Twitter Youtube Vimeo-v Instagram Soundcloud Spotify External-link-alt

Part two of the Angela Petrilli of Roses & Cigarettes interview marks the end of the first season of Front of House 2019. This season was dedicated to the fabulous musician Jenny Pagliaro, who was part of the group Roses & Cigarettes. Jenny passed away earlier this year, and her songs have lived on through this podcast this year. The silence of Jenny's voice from these tracks hits us hard, but she is still with us.Roses & Cigarettes’ music is an eclectic blend of Roots, Rock, Americana, Country and Pop – the perfect recipe for the classic California sound. Interlaced in singer-songwriter Jesse Macht’s catchy melodies are an abundance of stories overflowing with passion, vulnerability, empathy and honesty. Much like legendary songwriters before him such as Tom Petty and Neil Young, and modern day influences like Dan Wilson and Jon Brion, Jesse has proven his aptitude for storytelling. His music has been placed in many television shows and networks, as well as commercials, including The Voice, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Giuliana and Bill, Nickelodeon, Cymbalta and the MTV/E! cable catalogue. He’s also had numerous original songs placed in independent films such as James Franco’s "Good Time Max." Jesse has followed a path similar to his family of entertainers (his brother is actor Gabriel Macht, currently starring in USA’s "Suits," and father is veteran actor Stephen Macht). He has worked hard to make a musical home for himself (both as a solo artist and with his old band Burn Down the Mission) within L.A.’s well-known songwriter community with regular appearances at the Hotel Café, Room 5 and WitZend. Jesse Macht connects with his audience through reflective, conversational lyrics. While his words are dynamic and unapologetically truthful at times, he leaves room for his audience to contribute to the dialogue by using their own experiences. The new album, expected to come out in the fall of 2014, follows Jesse’s 2012 debut solo release Acts of Providence. Actress Abby Miller (Justified, Mad Men, Private Practice…) stops by Detroit Coney Dog LA for The Matthew Aaron Show LIVE this Monday (4/9) afternoon at 4:00pm PT. Abby will be swinging by to discuss her career, her recurring role as Ellen May on the FX series Justified, and what's coming up next. Show starts at 4:00pm PT (6:00pm CT / 7:00pm ET.) Drop on by Detroit Coney Dog LA and see us or stream the live show through our website. Don't forget you can also subscribe for free and download the show on iTunes. As world-weary prostitute Ellen May on the Emmy Award-winning FX series JUSTIFIED, Miller is both refreshingly unaffected and daringly courageous. Wholly without self-awareness, Miller's approach to hardscrabble Ellen May is always surprising and true. Ultimately, in Miller's honesty, we recognize parts of ourselves in Ellen May – a startling and humbling revelation. Miller's recurring role on JUSTIFIED follows on the heels of memorable guest starring roles on MAD MAN, PRIVATE PRACTICE, and THE NINE to name a few. Upcoming projects include the feature film CONGRATULATIONS (which Miller co-wrote), FUZZ TRACK CITY, and IT'S NOT YOU, IT'S ME with Vivica A. Fox. A prolific writer and gifted vocalist, Miller writes screenplays, poetry, and music. Prior to JUSTIFIED, Miller toured extensively with the indie musical duo JEN & ABBY, which garnered a loyal fan base on the west coast and led to gigs at several iconic LA venues and finally a regular “home” at Hotel Café. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
