Tragedy has a way of forcing a crossroads—either it breaks you, or it reshapes you into something stronger. Losing everything in an instant can feel like an unbearable weight, but for some, it becomes the spark that ignites a deeper transformation. When survival shifts from just getting through the day to redefining life on new terms, pain turns into power. Through resilience, introspection, and a willingness to embrace the unknown, even the darkest moments can lead to a life more meaningful than ever imagined.Thitinart Na Pattalung, also known as Dr. Ddnard, is a self-help guru, entrepreneur, healer, and bestselling author of the Life Compass series, with over 3 million copies sold worldwide. A meditation expert and founder of the Soul Meditation & Sleep app, she began her journey studying in London at 11 and earned two master's degrees by 19. After losing her husband and inheriting $3 million in debt, she rebuilt her life through meditation and spirituality. Now, she mentors business leaders and promotes mindfulness. Today, she shared her story of resilience, mindset, and the power of inner peace. Join in as young leaders pose inquiries about life, personal development, and beyond!Quotes: “Every great thing we have now comes from moments that were once perceived as negative.” – Dr. Dnard“Everyone needs a purpose in life. If you find your big ‘why,' you can accomplish anything.” – Dr. Ddnard“If it starts with pain, it will end with pain. So it should start with happiness, then it will end with happiness.” – Dr. DdnardTakeaways:Start a daily 2-minute meditation practice where you simply observe your thoughts without judgment - no fancy techniques, just watching your mind wander and noticing when it does.Cancel one energy-draining commitment this week and replace it with something that genuinely sparks joy or personal growth, even if it feels uncomfortable.Create a personal "positivity playlist" with affirmations that challenge your old limiting beliefs about money, success, or self-worth - listen to it while getting ready or during mundane tasks.Write down three moments from your childhood when you felt pure imagination and creativity, then brainstorm one small way to reconnect with that uninhibited spirit this month.Spend 5 minutes each morning smiling intentionally and tracking how it shifts your internal energy - notice what thoughts or feelings emerge without trying to control them. Conclusion:Peace comes from within, not external events. Mindfulness and meditation create space to observe thoughts without being overwhelmed, turning pain into growth. Challenges aren't roadblocks but chances for transformation. Fulfillment isn't in what we gain but in how we experience the present. Letting go of control and embracing acceptance leads to a deeper, more meaningful life.

She was featured in the 2021 film The Alpinist alongside her late partner, Marc-André Leclerc., who died while climbing from an unexpected avalanche.  She is best known for the first free solo of the 760 meter (2,500-foot) Chiaro di Luna (5.11a) in Patagonia, for her development of new alpine climbing routes, and as the star of Brette, a Reel Rock Film Tourshort film. Harrington's long-time partner, fellow alpinist Marc-André Leclerc, was confirmed dead after going missing during a climbing expedition near Juneau, Alaska in March 2018. Following Leclerc's death, Harrington devoted two years to working on alpine routes. She spent the first year processing Leclerc's death while she "was deep in the mountains". Harrington dedicated her May 2018 Mount Blane route to Leclerc, writing: "We have named it Life Compass for a number of reasons. Primarily because my life has taken such a sudden 180-degree turn since the loss of Marc in March and alpine climbing has been my guide. I dedicate this climb to my climbing mentor, partner, and love Marc-Andre who would probably solo it the following day if he was here." Sara and Brette talk about mountain and rock climbing and it's paradigm for life and it's highs and lows, going forward boldly, doing what you love, learning to live with peace and zen along with the tragedies and sacrifices. Welcome to Episode 105 – Using values as a life compass   The Christmas and New Years period often brings up a bunch of “what am I doing with my life?” style questions. You've been through a year of hell, or a year of the same old, same old… and you're yearning for change. But where do you start?    This week I give you an insight into a powerful mindfulness tool called – values. Values serve to connect us with our true and authentic selves. They can also be used to make difficult decisions, such as changing career, entering into a new relationship or even tackling your finances once and for all.    This week I'll go through some core values and how they can be applied to your daily life. I'll also guide you through how you can discover your own core values, and leave you inspired to turn off the auto-pilot, and switch on conscious living!    In this episode, I share: Why values are important – particularly during the holiday season The benefits of values-based work How I used values to stop drinking alcohol 3 big values – trust, honesty and respect Some values you probably haven't thought about before How to discover your core values 3 things to remember about values How to use your values as a life compass   Key Quotes:   “It's about using our values to guide and direct us to make better decisions, to do the things that we want, to be that authentic self and to essentially reach for the stars”   “And if you want to be free, you kind of need to take responsibility. And so values based work helps us do this”   “do something small every day. That's how you use them as your life compass”   Buy the values cards here: https://www.actmindfully.com.au/product-category/values-cards/ Connect with Mindful Men Website at www.mindful-men.com.au Community Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2050441875316594 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mindful.men.aus Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mindful.men.aus/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/simon-rinne-246207247/ Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mindful.men.aus Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbXBNQmbj4ZQj3rzFAZALTA   ***If anything triggers you from today's episode, please reach out to your support networks or seek professional help***   Stay Mindful, Simon --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mindfulmen/message

Deine Vision. Und zwar für alle Lebensbereiche. One of the most important steps we can take when investing in our well-being is identifying our values: or, as this week's guest Ali DeLizza, PhD, defines them, “the things in life that give us meaning and purpose.” Once we've identified our values, we can set goals that help us prioritize actions that make us feel fulfilled — even when we are experiencing stress or burnout in other parts of our professional and personal lives. Dr. DeLizza is a child psychologist and director of wellness programming at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she also serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry. This week, she chats with the Burnout Busters about how living life in accordance with your values can improve your well-being, and she teaches a simple, mindful technique that can help you gain a little perspective even on a hectic day. -- Ali DeLizza, PhD, is director of wellness programming and an assistant professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). As a child psychologist, Dr. DeLizza works extensively with children and teens with anxiety and depression, using approaches from acceptance and commitment therapy to help her patients improve their well-being in part by committing to valued actions. Dr. DeLizza also works with children and teens with ADHD and other behavior disorders, and with LGBTQIA+ youth. In addition to her clinical interests, she is committed to making organizational-level changes to support professional well-being at UNMC and beyond. She has been working in Nebraska since 2018, when she relocated from Western Michigan. -- Remember, you can use the hashtag #mhttcbyebyeburnout to share your well-being journey with us and others! In this feature story from Alpinist 64 (Winter 2018-19), Brette Harrington writes about her life partner, Marc-André Leclerc, who died in the Mendenhall Towers of Alaska, with Ryan Johnson in March 2018. Sleep researcher, writer and international speaker Greg Potter, PhD is with us once again to continue our conversation about improving your sleep. In my last interview with Greg, we discussed practical steps to take when sleep eludes you, as well as preventing sleep problems in the first place. We’ve circled back around today to take a closer look at some of the most promising interventions for insomnia as well as special considerations for athletes with regard to sleep. In this interview, Greg describes Sleep Restriction Therapy and Intensive Sleep Retraining in detail, two approaches to fixing insomnia that sound counterintuitive at first but which can pay off quickly with more restful sleep. Greg talks about mindfulness and meditation, sharing tips for using these practices to reduce insomnia and overall stress. Values are not always consciously utilized. Once we figure out what they are they can be monumental in lighting the path that we need to take. Each person has their own set of values that are really the core of their being. Using your values as a compass in tough situations can really make the decision-making process easier if you are committed to using them. While this topic isn't always very exhilarating it is life-changing when used intentionally. Go to bojanamilic.com/epi004 for this week exercise. Leigh Martinuzzi is The Hidden Why Guy. He is an expert in lifestyle design although he would say that he’s just another guy trying to figure out life. He is passionate about creating and living a meaningful life – a life that dissolves suffering and regret. As a compassionate guy Leigh wishes to inspire, educate and help others do the same. He assists people via speaking, mentoring, writing, and podcasting. Having a corporate background in senior executive positions for various multi-national companies, Leigh made the realisation that his life didn’t make a great deal of sense and decided to redesign his life to give him more freedom, fulfilment, and happiness. He has successfully transitioned from a dissatisfying existence to living with higher purpose. Now he pays forward what he has learned to help other people do the same. Leigh is an author of two books Four Pillars of Success, Delegate to Freedom and soon to be published – The Ultimate Life Map.He has a top rated podcast – The Hidden Why that is listened to by thousands of people around the world each week. Leigh creates tools, resources and inspirational material including The Life Compass, The Ultimate Life Mapand Fast Track to Effectivenessto assist others in creating a lifestyle they love. People describe Leigh as sincere, spiritual, compassionate, driven, curious and highly motivated. He is integral to his values and the autonomous leader of his life. He’s a family man with two beautiful young girls and a supportive and loving wife. Leigh believes perfection isn’t the goal nor does such a state exist – progress is key. It requires the ability to tap into our inner motivation, follow our passions, and to proceed with integral and undeniable purpose. Evolution is progress, natural selection ensures survival, a life with meaning results in happiness. Leigh believes that to break free from conformity and the stagnation of life we first make wake up. In doing so we will genuinely unleash our best potential and realise the absolute beauty that life offers. Key Points from the Episode with Leigh Martinuzzi Freedom has always been a very powerful draw in his life. That feeling always spoke to him, and he found himself drawn to things that gave him more freedom throughout his life. The flipside of freedom is uncertainty, which he started to realize as he had more freedom as an adult, only coupled with responsibilities that also come with adulthood. The search for what you love and who you are is actually incredibly fun, and is something Leigh has always resonated with. Leigh always sought financial freedom, but more the freedom to do what he wanted to do when he wanted to do it. He always seemed able to make a dollar, so he was less money-focused than purpose-focused with the idea that the money would follow. He spent much of his 20s and 30s searching for what he could do that would give him freedom of time while still supporting him. He landed on a successful career in real estate, but he realized there was a lack of purpose in it. So he stopped. He didn’t just stop doing it, but he and his wife picked everything up, including their two young kids, and set out to explore the world, ending up in Japan for two years. He was after a level of joy – happiness and fulfillment at a deeper level. While in Japan, he worked very heavily and deeply on The Hidden Why and his books. Being in touch with a life that connects with his joy means Leigh wakes up early every morning and goes after his day with energy and focus in a way he wouldn’t do if he wasn’t living in such connection with what matters to him. Leigh is a great example of the ability to wake up to a better life without having to have a single, stark moment or tragedy. What he gives credit for having the wake up and making the shift is a life-long interest in why, what matters, and take in the thoughts of others without judgment and only reflection. As he looked at every source of unease or dissatisfaction in his life, he has found that they are usually the result of self-incurred immaturity. We haven’t yet become our greatest leader or guide in our life and we rely on our external reality more than what’s within, and we suffer for that. This is based on the ideas of Immanuel Kant, the 18thcentury German philosopher. He likes to think about things in terms of Be, Do and Have. Most of us go with Do, Have and Be. As in, work, get stuff, and then you can be who you are. Actually, we should focus on who we want to be, which then dictates what we do, and what we have is an outcome of that. It’s about values first. The Ultimate Life Map The Ultimate Life Map is now up for pre-order. I’ve been working on this baby for some time now and am excited to getting it published. What does it mean to live The Ultimate Life? The answer to that question is an individual one. And so is your life! I wrote this book in efforts to scratch my own itch. To figure life out. As I look around me I see so much suffering, hardship, depression, dissatisfaction and unhappiness. I felt the same way in my own life.  So, I had to ask WHY? For too long I sat on the edge of my seat teasing myself with my deepest dreams and desires yet I did nothing about it.  I had to wake up!  I don't want to sleep through this existence. I don't want to live with regret.  In this book I share you my story. My transformational journey. In it I provide the blueprint and the tools that you can use to map out and live your Ultimate Life. I will show you how to define your WHY – or purpose. I will guide you in the creation of your Life Compass. I will explain how you can reconnect to the fundamental Life Principles. I will then highlight how to use these tools, so you can navigate your life towards greater freedom, fulfilment and happiness. The book goes up for pre-order from July the 15th until August the 15th on Publishizer. Please help me out and pre-order a copy!
