Learn how to JournalSpeak https://www.yourbreakawake.com/journalspeak Evie's life was planned before she was old enough to have a real opinion. A child prodigy, she began boarding school for professional violin when she was 9. Although she loved playing her instrument, by the time she was 15 she was debilitated in back pain with no idea why. At first (as so many of us do) she thought the origin of her pain was poor posture or muscle weakness. After years of failed treatments and exercises, she was forced to leave conservatory, and her journey of self-discovery began. At the young age of 20, Evie is so wise. She has done the work to heal herself completely and lives a limitless life, but she is quick to say that this work is about so much more than getting out of pain. Evie's message is one every one of us needs to hear. Join us for an inspiring and insightful conversation. Hi friend, it's Jody. Welcome to the Choose Joy Series. I crashed out last week. And once I got through the frustration, disappointment, and emotions of it all, I realized there was a lesson underneath it that I really needed:I am way too attached to the outcomes of things. In today's episode, we're talking about what happens when you care deeply about something, do everything you can to make it work, and then have to accept that you still can't control how it turns out. We're talking about releasing control, managing expectations, navigating disappointment, and learning how to give your best effort without making your happiness dependent on the result.Sometimes peace doesn't come from getting the outcome you wanted.Sometimes it comes from finally realizing you don't need to control it.If you're a recovering perfectionist, chronic overthinker, or someone who struggles to let go when life doesn't go according to plan, this one's for you. XO.
Do you ever feel like your week is running you instead of you running your week? I know I do! My friend Heather Brown joins me to talk about simple, practical ways we can care for our minds, bodies, and spirits without adding another overwhelming item to our to-do lists. We talk about creating intentional rhythms, managing chronic stress, protecting what matters most, and letting God help us see where our lives need a reset. Heather also shares some incredibly doable ways to slow down and care for ourselves in the middle of real, busy life. If you're tired of running on empty, this conversation is for you. Remember, I'd love to connect more on Instagram, where you'll find me at @donnaajones. And don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss a single episode! Xo, Donna Key Takeaways: 0:02:24 - “Sunday Reset” for Overwhelmed Women 0:08:34 - Start With God’s Vision for Your Week 0:17:18 - Chronic Stress and the Overloaded Nervous System 0:21:19 - Box Breathing as a Daily Reset Tool 0:24:34 - Simple Hydration & Salt Hacks for Energy What We Talk About Why busy women so easily end up running on empty What it means to love your neighbor as yourself Heather's Sunday Reset and how to begin creating one Asking God what your ideal day and week should look like Making your calendar reflect your actual priorities Recognizing where distractions are stealing your time Prioritizing your closest relationships How chronic stress affects the body The importance of sleep and true rest Using box breathing as a quick way to calm your nervous system Simple ways to incorporate prayer, Scripture, and worship into everyday routines Creating small habits that support your physical, mental, relational, and spiritual health Why caring for yourself sets an example for your children and family Heather's Sunday Reset Heather's approach begins with slowing down long enough to intentionally look at your life with God instead of simply reacting to everything coming at you. Start with God. Ask: Lord, what do You want this season, week, or day to look like? Identify what matters most. Consider your relationship with God, your closest relationships, your physical and mental health, and the specific calling God has placed on your life. Look honestly at your calendar. Do the things taking up your time match the things you say are important? Find the gaps and distractions. Ask where you're wasting time, what may need to be removed, and which habits aren't serving you well in this season. Put your priorities on the calendar. Schedule the important things instead of assuming they'll happen once everything else is done. Reset instead of expecting perfect balance. Some weeks will get crazy. The goal isn't perfection; it's recognizing when you've gotten off track and intentionally resetting. A Simple Stress Reset: Box Breathing Heather also shares a practical breathing exercise you can use in just a few moments: Inhale for 4 → Hold for 4 → Exhale for 4 → Hold for 4 Repeat for a few cycles to intentionally slow your breathing and create a moment of calm. What happens when success looks great on paper, but the person carrying it feels exhausted, stuck, or disconnected? On this episode of I Am Refocused Radio, host Shemaiah Reed sits down with Annie Yatch, founder of Reinvention, XO, a former counterterrorism analyst turned leadership reinvention strategist and performance coach. Annie works with founders, CEOs, investors, and high-capacity leaders to identify the hidden patterns influencing how they lead, make decisions, build relationships, and respond under pressure.Drawing from a background that includes counterterrorism analysis, entrepreneurship, behavioral strategy, emotional intelligence, and leadership performance, Annie explains why reaching the next level isn't always about working harder or finding another business strategy. What happens when the life you thought was secure suddenly falls apart? My friend Danna Demetre knows what it’s like to face deep betrayal and to discover God’s faithfulness right in the middle of it. We talk honestly about heartbreak, forgiveness, rebuilding trust, and what it means to anchor our identity in Christ when everything feels shaken. Danna also shares how her own painful experience inspired her debut novel, Beyond Betrayal, which she wrote in her 70s! This conversation is a beautiful reminder that God doesn’t waste our pain, forgiveness and trust aren’t the same thing, and you are never too old or too young to pursue the purpose God still has for you. Trust: Trust is not automatically restored because forgiveness has been given. Trust must be rebuilt through consistent actions over time. Reconciliation: A restored relationship requires two people. I can do what God asks of me, but I cannot control another person’s choices. Danna’s reminder is so important: forgiveness doesn’t mean pretending something didn’t hurt. It doesn’t mean forgetting, immediately trusting again, or skipping the grieving process. It means releasing the offense to God while allowing Him to guide what comes next. You may feel like you have tried everything to regain your energy and the “you” you used to be….The elimination diet you followed to a T. The copious amount of supplements lined up on the counter like little toy soldiers. The early hard workouts, the green smoothies and juices, the app that reminds you to drink your water and just breathe already. You have read the books. You have followed the plans. And you are still tired. Still exhausted. So at night, when you lie down and your mind will not settle down, a small little voice inside you starts to ask the question you may be afraid of saying out loud because you aren't trying to be a negative Nancy! But you may wonder…. What is even the point of trying again.Sister, I need you to hear this before we go one step further. You are far from alone. Many women are experiencing what you are right now.In a large global survey, among women 35 and older, the two most common experiences reported were fatigue and physical + mental exhaustion, both above 80%. 80 PERCENT!There was one functional-health source that estimates up to 40 percent of adults still feel exhausted after trying the usual changes. That is pretty high and one of my theories is because they may be keeping God out of their health changes. We simply can't compartmentalize a brilliantly designed body. It's all connected. Body, mind, spirit. You only focus on one part… you will only get partial results.Just like the neurologists only looking at my daughter's brain for her migraines… they compartmentalized. And because they did that… we spent 3 years of our lives with no answer to show for it… her migraines weren't the root problem… they were a symptom. So when you feel this high functioning fatigue and all the symptoms it brings with it, tired but wired, forgetting important details, using more mental energy to focus now, sheer exhaustion every single afternoon…. ….this is not a you problem. And the fact that you keep showing up, that you have not stopped looking for answers, is not foolishness or a waste of time. It is faithfulness with a backbone. It is determination.I am walking through this On August 25th in my free masterclass called Stop Normalizing Exhaustion. We are going to walk through why you are still so tired even though your labs look fine, and what faithful, root-cause stewardship of your body actually looks like from here.Listen to this week's episode above to dig into this 2nd part of the Biblical Stewardship of Your Health Series on the Podcast.Treasure your wellness.XO, Michelle Get full access to Treasured Wellness at treasuredwellness.substack.com/subscribe

Learn how to JournalSpeak https://www.yourbreakawake.com/journalspeak When Rachel Gofman was in college, she had terrible back pain - just like me! After going down the Western Medical rabbit hole to no avail, she discovered Dr. Sarno and her back pain subsided completely. But years later, when Rachel was in her Doctorate program for Physical Therapy, acute and widespread pelvic pain struck. Similar to me as well, this time she forgot all about Dr. Sarno and went full steam into traditional medicine in the hope of helping herself. When the best specialists told her there was, "nothing else they could do for her," thankfully she considered Sarno again, and this time found my work. Rachel had to confront her scientific training around the human body, and realized that there is a huge hole in so much that is taught to PTs and all medical professionals. Embracing MindBody medicine, Rachel was able to TOTALLY recover from debilitating pelvic pain, and now is a MindBody PT! What if sleep isn't just something your body needs but a gift from God that can actually teach you something about Him? In this fascinating conversation with Brett McCracken, author of The Wisdom of Sleep, we explore why God designed us to spend nearly a third of our lives asleep, how sleep gives us a beautiful picture of grace and the gospel, and why our resistance to rest may reveal more than we realize. We also talk about dreams, Sabbath, hustle culture, and what to do when good sleep feels impossible. I walked away seeing something I do every single night in a completely new way, and I think you will, too. Remember, I'd love to connect more on Instagram, where you'll find me at @donnaajones. Sleep requires us to stop striving and surrender control. We receive. While we sleep, restoration happens without our effort. We don't achieve the benefits of sleep—we receive them. We rise. Each morning, we wake to new life, giving us a small picture of resurrection. We remember. Sleep reminds us that we're limited, God isn't, and His grace sustains us even when we're doing absolutely nothing. That changes the way I think about going to bed! You know when you wake up already tired… and before your feet even hit the floor, you feel it... that low pull of dread at the day stacked up ahead of you, and you have not even started it yet. Did you feel it this morning?? Then, you hit the wall by two, push through on willpower, and lie down at night with a mind that will not turn off. You have heard your labs are "normal", that it is just stress or your age. And yet, you don't feel like it's normal or that you should have to deal with it. I hear you and I see you because I was you. This first episode in the Biblical Stewardship of Your Health series is for the Christian woman living with high-functioning fatigue who is ready for real answers. We turn to Scripture for what it means to steward the body God gave you, starting with faithfulness, and why consistent, ordinary care does more for your energy than any dramatic overhaul. If you are a Christian woman who feels tired all the time, told your labs look "normal" while you still feel like crap, and have been pushing through anyway, I see you sister. You will appreciate this episode as I am diving a bit deeper into a biblical approach to fatigue and women's wellness. We go into why so many capable, faith-filled women are always tired, why it's quietly becoming accepted as a new normal, why more information has not changed how they feel, and the real difference between chasing wellness and practicing biblical health stewardship. If you have prayed about your exhaustion, pushed through it, and told yourself to be grateful and keep going...you will feel seen as you listen. And you will leave with the first real step toward understanding what your body has been trying to tell you. Hi Friends! Press play, head to your bedroom, and declutter with me. In this guided session, I'll walk you through my method, which is a mindful approach that turns decluttering into a moving meditation. We'll arrive in the space, connect with the deeper meaning behind what we're doing, breathe, explore the clutter without judgment, and then notice what becomes possible when we create a little more space. Declutter in Layers Start with one category at a time and make your way around the room: Layer 1: Trash Walk around the room and collect anything that can simply be thrown away or recycled. Layer 2: Clothes Gather clothes and separate what needs to be put away, washed, donated, or let go. Layer 3: Toiletries & Personal Items Collect skincare, makeup, hair products, medications, and other personal items and return them to where they belong. Layer 4: Give Away Look for anything you already know you're ready to donate or give to someone else. Layer 5: Things That Belong Somewhere Else Gather anything that belongs in another room. Put it in a basket or pile to relocate when you're finished. Layer 6: Things You're Still Deciding About Set aside anything you're not ready to make a decision about yet. Don't let one difficult item stop your momentum. Layer 7: Clean Once the clutter is cleared, wipe down surfaces, vacuum, dust, open a window, or do whatever makes the room feel fresh. Layer 8: Put Everything Away Return the things you're keeping to their homes and enjoy the space you created. Hope this helps you! Have you been reading the Word, praying, showing up at church, and still walking away feeling flat and far from God?Kathy Lindberg, founder of Watered by the Word, named something on the Treasured Wellness Show that I have watched play out in the lives of so many women I work with. Women come to her and say, “Kathy, I'm doing all the things. I'm going to church. I'm reading my Bible. I'm praying. I have my quiet time.” And they still feel empty. Still dissatisfied. Still stuck.I told Kathy something I believe with my whole heart. Spiritual fatigue is the most dangerous form of fatigue there is. When your body is tired, you feel it. When your mind is foggy, you notice it. But when your spirit runs dry while you keep performing the motions of faith, you can go a long time before anyone, including you, recognizes what is happening. The Trap of the Full ChecklistKathy calls it being a box checker, and she is honest that she has been there herself. The quiet time gets crossed off the list right alongside the emails, the school pickups, and the meetings. The heart posture underneath quietly slips away while the activity keeps going. Here is what most women never get told. A full checklist can sit right on top of an empty tank. You can be faithful in every observable way and still feel disconnected, because the doing was never the point. The relationship was. And that gap carries a real cost, one that often has a physical layer nobody is examining. When Your Faith Feels Flat, Look at Your Whole PersonI want to address something to the woman who has been praying harder, serving more, and secretly wondering whether her dryness means her faith is failing.Sometimes the spiritual flatness you feel has a root that reaches all the way into your body. When you have been running on chronic stress for years, your cortisol rhythm flattens, inflammation builds quietly, and your nervous system stays locked in a state of powering through. In that state, your capacity to feel almost anything, including the presence of God you know is there, gets muffled or muted. Here is the part most midlife women do not realize yet. What you are feeling is common, and it is a signal. The exhaustion, the flatness, the sense that something is off long before any lab test reading confirms it. In my experience most women are already roughly two-thirds of the way toward a diagnosis by the time their bloodwork flags it through a conventional reading. That means the tiredness you have been powering through sits inside a window where things are still very changeable. Common has quietly convinced a lot of women it is normal. It is common, and it is not normal, and this is exactly the moment where taking the reins changes the outcome. This is part of what I call High-Functioning Fatigue™, the invisible depletion of a woman whose drive has outpaced her body's current capacity. She looks capable on the outside because she is. Underneath, the tank is running dangerously low, and it touches every part of her, spirit included. The woman in that place is asking for answers, for language to understand what her body has been trying to tell her, so her spirit has room to breathe again. The Invitation Is Smaller Than You ThinkHave you been believing that reconnecting with God requires an hour you do not have?Kathy shared something freeing. Jesus is offering an invitation, and it holds whether you have five minutes or five hours. There is life to be given through the Word, through silence, through prayer, in whatever measure of time you can plug in today. It is never too late, and there is no expectation of perfection. This is the same principle I build into the lives of the women I guide. We create daily restore times, small intentional pauses to be with the Lord and to let the body settle out of emergency mode. Some days that looks like a cozy chair and a full cup of coffee. Most days it looks like five minutes before you open your laptop, listening to a Psalm, breathing slow, letting your nervous system come down. Scripture calls us to “be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). Stillness is a practice you can steward, one small choice at a time.Kathy keeps Scripture note cards where she will see them, on the mirror, on the refrigerator, in the car during her commute. During her own fiery season, filling her mind with the things of God was literally life giving. That is stewardship of the mind, and it is a spiritual practice and a physiological one at the same time. What you feed your mind, your body listens to.You Were Made to Prosper as Your Soul ProspersThe verse that anchors everything I do is 3 John 1:2. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”Read it slowly. Your health and your soul were designed to rise together. To be united. When one is depleted for long enough, the other feels the drought. So here is the question I want to leave with you. What if that emptiness you have been carrying is your whole person asking to be understood and cared for, while there is still time to respond well? You do not have to figure this out alone. Kathy said it plainly, and Scripture said it first in Genesis. We were made for community, not to walk this out in isolation. The same is true of your health. This is the season to take control and steward it with intention, before the window narrows.Ready to begin stewarding your health with specific intention?Subscribe to Treasured Wellness!Treasure your wellness!XO, Michelle. This content is for educational purposes only and is not intended as medical advice. Today I'm sitting down with my friend Kathy Lindberg to talk about God's call on our lives in this midlife season, and why answering it is never too late. Even if...those dreams have been deferred for a while now. God gives us the desires of our heart for a reason, and those desires do not retire at 40, 50, or 60. Feeling tired spiritually is real and often women feel they need to push through this fatigue even harder with more action. More doing. But your spirit whispers something different. If you are a high-achieving woman who has built a full life and still senses a quiet pull toward something deeper, you want to really lean into our conversation today. I have spent over a decade teaching God's daughters that we are called to steward our whole selves. Body, mind, and spirit. Treasuring your temple in midlife is not only physical. It begins with the health of your spirit and the consistency of your time in His Word. Kathy puts language to the question that reframes this entire season: "Where is the kingdom impact in what I am doing?" In this episode we get into: What Kathy is treasuring most in this season of life How her own story shaped her passion for discipling and equipping women What actually helps busy, distracted women reignite their love for God and build consistency in Scripture Why grounding yourself in the Word is foundational to maturing into your true identity in Christ I pray this blesses you and moves you to action! Understanding disclosure starts with understanding the language. In this episode, Ginette breaks down the key terminology surrounding today's disclosure movement, including extraterrestrials, interdimensionals, non-human intelligence (NHI), human hybrids, and other commonly discussed concepts. By exploring what these terms mean—and why they matter—you'll gain greater clarity and confidence when navigating this rapidly evolving conversation. Ginette also shines a light on two destructive narratives currently circulating within the disclosure community that can create unnecessary fear and division. Through thoughtful discussion, she explains why discernment has never been more important and how to stay grounded, open-minded, and empowered while exploring these fascinating topics. Knowledge, curiosity, and discernment are your greatest tools. LEARN HOW TO JOURNALSPEAK When Christian developed chronic dizziness, vestibular migraines, fatigue, and post-exertional crashes after COVID, his life quickly became organized around fear. As a sports broadcaster, his symptoms were especially intense at work—the very place where his identity, ambition, and ability to provide for his growing family felt most vulnerable. After normal medical testing and months of searching for answers, Christian found Mind Your Body, began JournalSpeak, and started to recognize that his nervous system was capable of change. But when his symptoms didn't disappear as quickly as he hoped, a new fear took over: What if he couldn't heal unless he quit his job? What if he hadn't reached rock bottom yet? In this hybrid success story and Real-Time Heal, I help Christian understand why his symptoms attached themselves to work, achievement, and self-worth—and why recovery doesn't require abandoning his life or waiting for his body to collapse. With his first son on the way, Christian begins to see this experience not as the end of the life he planned, but as an opportunity to build the emotional strength he'll carry into fatherhood. We talk about predictive coding, symptom monitoring, fear of crashes, and the importance of meeting symptoms with safety rather than panic. Christian believes his story will have a happy ending. My answer is simple: It already does. XO n. More for you: THIS WILL SELL OUT SO BOOK SOON!! Today we're talking to Will Rodriguez and Karen Endsley. Here's a bit more about Will's journey: My whole life I've been on a search for truth. But as a pragmatist, having been raised in the New York area, I was deeply skeptical of the messages I was hearing form the New Age movement. So I embarked on a journey of discovery. I needed to find “proof” that we were more than this 3 dimensional body we inhabit. I needed to feel it, see it, hear it, tastes it, whatever it took, but it HAD to be physical in nature. I couldn't just take someone's word for it, I had to experience it for myself. So I dove into all kinds of modalities, I even joined a coven of witches in an effort to prove to myself that the spiritual world actually existed and that we weren't just “worm food” once we died. What I found upended my reality completely. What I was most afraid of, being taken advantage of, being seen as naïve or gullible, was actually exactly what was already happening in the physical world. I found that the liars weren't those who spoke about life after death, or energy healing, or communicators with the other side……the liars were the establishments that I put my faith in; religions, government, education system. NOT in a conspiracy theory type of way….but in a much more real way.The truth I've found is that we've been lied to for thousands of years by those that didn't want us to know the truth of who we are at our core. Because if we learned the truth that we are infinite beings of creation, they would lose the ability to control us. So suddenly I found myself with the knowledge that this Skeptic Metaphysician that I labeled myself as…..was actually already being hoodwinked. And by diving into the world of metaphysics and spirituality with a skeptical mindset…..so long as I wasn't cynical….it helped me to se the truth of who I was. Being discerning of the messages I was hearing, but still keeping my mind open to the possibility of what the messages were revealing…that made all the difference.I feel that my co-host (who is also my wife) and I can speak to this reality very well, having conducted over 130 fun, engaging, light-hearted conversations that speak to the truth of our experiences….and shining a light on the fact that we are all indeed far more than the establishment has wanted us to believe we are.Connect with Will and Karen here:https://www.skepticmetaphysician.com/What resonated most with you and do you have further questions?DM me on IG www.instagram.com/liveintechnicolorofficialIf you enjoyed this episode, follow the podcast and share it with someone you know.Remember - you're amazing and powerful beyond your wildest imagination! “God, what should I do?” That's the question most of us ask–maybe you’re asking it right now.. Put another way, “what is your will, God?” These aren’t bad questions–they’re good. But they can also be incomplete. Kind of like missing the forest because of the trees. Sometimes the better question is not, “God what should I do?” but “God what are you doing?” In this episode, I want to encourage you to see your circumstances (yes, the ones you are in right now) from a different perspective. Instead of only asking God what decision you should make, what if you also asked what He's doing in you? We'll talk about how God uses trials, relationships, and His Word to shape us into the image of Christ. My prayer is that you'll walk away with renewed hope, greater confidence in God's plan, and the peace that comes from knowing He's faithfully finishing the work He started in you. And, if you’re thinking, That’s great, but I still need to know God’s will. Today’s episode is the beginning point to that dilemma and next week my guest will answer the question, “How can I discern God’s will?” You won’t want to miss it! And remember, I'd love to connect more on Instagram, where you'll find me at @donnaajones. And don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss a single episode! Rather than only asking: "God, what should I do?" Also ask: "God, what are You doing in me?" God shapes us through three primary tools: Trials – Building endurance and revealing areas for growth. People – Using authentic relationships to encourage and sharpen us. His Word – Revealing who God is and teaching us how to live. When reading Scripture, ask two simple questions: Who are You, Lord? In light of who You are, how do You want me to live? I loved this conversation because it reminded me that God doesn't just call pastors and missionaries; He calls teachers, nurses, engineers, business leaders, parents, and every one of us to make an impact for His kingdom. Brian Mueller shares his incredible journey from basketball coach to president of Grand Canyon University, along with his heart for raising up a generation that lives out their faith wherever God places them. If you've ever wondered whether your work, your family, or your gifts really matter to God, I think this episode will encourage you to see your everyday life as a sacred calling. And remember, I'd love to connect more on Instagram, where you'll find me at @donnaajones. And don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss a single episode! Every profession can honor God. Integrate your faith into your everyday work. Don't compartmentalize your spiritual life. Serve people with excellence and integrity. Your character often speaks louder than your words. Build relationships that reflect Christ. The Gospel is demonstrated through how we love others. Trust God to use your unique gifts. Your passions and experiences are part of His greater purpose. You have been tired for a while now. Not lazy tired... no one would ever accuse you of that! And your tired is not the kind of tired that a good night's sleep or stealing a few hours on the weekend to recover actually fixes. It's more like the kind of tired that is just always there, underneath everything, no matter what you do. You're still showing up, still getting it done, still being everything for everyone...but it's costing you more than it used to, and you know it. The weight is shifting and nothing you've tried is moving it. The brain fog is making you question yourself at work. The mood swings are catching you off guard. And somewhere in the back of your mind you're wondering if this is just what your 40's & 50's are supposed to feel like. (It's not.) In this episode, I am sitting down with Bria Gadd, functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner, holistic health coach, and host of the top 1% global wellness podcast The Period Whisperer, and we are getting into exactly what is happening in your body and why the harder you push, the worse you feel. (Been there, done that!) What Bria and I unpack in this conversation will shift the way you think about everything. Why your symptoms are not a betrayal, they are a message. Why the instinct to do more, eat less, and push through is the very thing keeping you stuck. What has to change in your thinking before any supplement, protocol, or therapy will actually work. And one of the most searched topics in women's wellness right now...peptides. What they actually are, what the research supports, the real danger of jumping straight to peptide therapy before you've addressed the root, and what it looks like to use them the right way at the right time. You are not falling apart. You are a high-achieving woman whose body has been running a deficit for a long time, and it is finally asking you to listen. This conversation will help you do exactly that. Your most vibrant, energized, clear-headed years are not behind you. They are ahead of you and this episode is a step toward them! I pray this blesses you abundantly today! XO, Michelle Get your copy of the Whole Health Journal!
