Früher gab es zum Teil Schock-Telefonrechnungen von Hunderten, ja sogar Tausenden von Franken. Heute passiert das in diesem Ausmass zum Glück nicht mehr. Die Anbieter haben ein Warnsystem eingeführt. Viele Anbieter sperren auch die Standardtarife fürs Ausland und bieten Zusatzoptionen an. Dennoch können Roaming-Gebühren entstehen, die vermeidbar sind. Hier gibt es Tipps. Vor der Abreise * Falls Ihr Handy-Abo keine Auslandnutzung beinhaltet, lohnt es sich, eine Zusatz-Option zu kaufen. Auch hier lohnt es sich, wenn man das vor der Reise aufs Handy lädt. Welche Option soll ich für meine Ferien lösen? Kaufen Sie eine Ausland-Option, haben Sie gewisse Gesprächsminuten und Datenmengen zur Verfügung. Diese Ferien-Pakete sind in verschiedenen Grössen erhältlich. Überlegen Sie sich beim Kauf, wie oft Sie während der Ferien im Ausland telefonieren möchten. Was die Datenmenge betrifft, so sagen Experten, reicht ein Gigabyte. Damit sollte man während zwei Wochen Ferien im Ausland ab und zu im Internet surfen können, zwischendurch Mails lesen und versenden, Fotos per Whatsapp verschicken oder auch mal auf Google Maps navigieren können. Poor Android updates. I would recommend looking at a ChromeOS tablet - like the Lenovo Chromebook Duet, there's a new Acer ChromeBook Tab 10 too. And there's an Asus about to drop. The Duet benefits from 7 years of updates, so similar to Apple. Has Android app support, keyboard and supports USI stylus pens. I have one and it is great, easily my most versatile device.   Ian Barton suggests and recommends the Acer Chromebook Spin 13 slightly different but can be swung right round into tablet mode. "Wir sind die Bots" – über 1000 demonstrieren gegen Artikel 13 Nachdem sich die verschiedenen EU-Gremien auf die Urheberrechtsreform geeinigt haben, geben die Gegner nicht auf. Bei einer ersten Straßendemonstration in Köln kamen trotz kurzer Vorlaufzeit mehr als 1000 Demonstranten zusammen, darunter viele YouTube-Fans. Nach dem erfolgreichen Auftakt wollen die Organisatoren an weiteren Aktionen arbeiten. So soll diese Woche die Online-Petition gegen Upload-Filter, die bereits über 4,7 Millionen Unterschriften gesammelt hat, an Vertreter der Bundesregierung übergeben werden. TRENNER High-End-Smartphones: Immer mehr Geräte mit Dual-SIM Weil ein Großteil der Handys hierzulande über die Netzbetreiber verkauft wird, waren Smartphones mit zwei SIM-Slots vor allem im Spitzensegment eine Rarität. Nun scheint sich das Blatt allerdings gewendet zu haben. Im Vergleichstest von High-End-Smartphones der c't konnten sechs von acht Testkandidaten mit zwei Mobilfunkverträgen gleichzeitig umgehen. TRENNER Elektrokleinstfahrzeuge: Erlaubnis für E-Tretroller soll dieses Jahr kommen Elektro-Tretroller – auch E-Scooter genannt – und E-Boards dürfen bisher nicht auf öffentlichen Straßen benutzt werden. Das soll sich dieses Jahr ändern. Bundesverkehrsminister Andreas Scheuer will nun elektrisch angetriebene Tretroller und Skateboards zulassen. Er habe eine Freigabe für Elektrokleinstfahrzeuge autorisiert, heißt es im Nachrichtenmagazin Der Spiegel. Die Verordnung solle in diesem Frühjahr dem Bundesrat zugeleitet werden. TRENNER Studie: YouTube verantwortlich für Verbreitung von Flat-Earth-Bewegung Eine wissenschaftliche Studie hat ergeben, dass Menschen sich hauptsächlich durch Videos bei YouTube von der Auffassung überzeugen lassen, die Erde sei flach. Diese im englischen Sprachraum als Flat-Earth-Theorie bekannte, wissenschaftlich unhaltbare Behauptung ist zwar seit Langem im Umlauf, gewinnt aber in den letzten Jahren – trotz Gegenaufklärung – stark an Popularität. Apple released the fifth beta of iOS 12 a few days ago. 9to5mac discovered strings in configuration files that reference dual SIM devices. You should expect at least one new iPhone model with two SIM trays. Apple is said to unveil three new iPhone models in September. In addition to an updated iPhone X, the company should announce a bigger second generation “iPhone X Plus”. Apple also plans to bring the notch to more devices with a replacement to the iPhone 8.
