Dies gelingt ihr auch, jedoch schleicht sich das Suchtverhalten unter anderem Namen wieder in ihr Leben, weshalb sie sich schließlich im Programm anmeldet. In diesem spannenden Interview erfährst du, wie das Programm Yvi geholfen hat, sich von ständigen Gedanken ums Essen, Schwarz-Weiß-Denken, Neid und angeblicher “Disziplinlosigkeit” zu befreien. Dopo gli studi in storia, letteratura francese e italiana all'Uni di Zurigo, ha saputo portare in Ticino quell'apertura mentale e culturale che spesso fa difetto nel piccolo territorio che scende dal San Gottardo a Chiasso. Millevoci la incontra per conoscerla un po' meglio e per raccogliere suggerimenti e proposte per continuare a dare peso e forza alle diverse declinazioni delle espressioni culturali.

Tonight's special guest is Lika Saliscente-Phipps from Racine, Wisconsin, a returning NAASCA family member. "I'm a survivor of abuse of many levels," Lika says. After living with a physically and verbally abusive father, a passive aggressive and manipulative mother, and dealing with abuse from her siblings, her first attempt to escape the abuse by marrying did not work out. Lika was scapegoated not only by her family, but also by people in her town who spread gossip. She describes the feeling, saying, "My life was hell, and I couldn't get away." However, she did eventually break away from the abuse and in recovery has used her experience to speak out for rights and protection of others. Lika founded Youth Voice Initiative, a non-profit social action group that authors and lobbies laws to protect women and children from dangers that arise from abuse, and other laws that take away tools from child predators who conspire to commit crimes. YVI also addresses the growing problem of domestic violence. YVI gathers support for these laws and builds awareness to the problems that inspire them. Some of the successful laws Lika has lobbied include the state of WI for Act 177, a fair pay bill for equal work, and the "Mini Skirt Bill" which renders the attire of the rape victim inadmissible as evidence against the victim in court. They've also worked on two federal laws called the 'Violence Against Women Act of 1993' and 'The Safer Campuses for Women'. YVI is currently working on several new laws. Wenn es einmal im Monat mehr als nur zwickt im Unterleib und einem davon sogar schlecht wird oder man Kopfweh bekommt, sogar umkippt, dann hat frau wohl nicht eine ganz so normale Periode. Oft handelt es sich hier um Endometriose - eine Krankheit, die nicht genug erforscht ist und bisher hauptsächlich durch Symptombekämpfung in den Griff zu kriegen ist. Ob sich das im nächsten Jahrzehnt ändert? Wir reden drüber und Yvi erzählt wie es so ist, wenn man 7 Jahre lang damit zu kämpfen hatte.

Tonight's special guest is a returning NAASCA family member, Lika Saliscente-Phipps from Racine, Wisconsin who last appeared in 2013 on SCAN episode 609. "I'm a survivor of abuse of many levels," Lika says. After living with a physically and verbally abusive father, a passive aggressive and manipulative mother, and dealing with abuse from her siblings, her first attempt to escape the abuse by marrying did not work out. Lika was scapegoated not only by her family, but also by people in her town who spread gossip. She describes feeling by stating, "My life was hell, and I couldn't get away." However, she did eventually break away from the abuse and in recovery has used her experience to speak out for rights and protection of others as a lobbyist. Lika founded Youth Voice Initiative, a non-profit social action group that authors and lobbies laws to protect women and children from dangers that arise from abuse, and other laws that take away tools from child predators who conspire to commit crimes. YVI also addresses the growing problem of domestic violence. YVI gathers support for these laws and builds awareness to the problems that inspire them. Some of the successful laws Lika has lobbied include the state of WI for Act 177, a fair pay bill for equal work, and the "Mini Skirt Bill" which renders the attire of the rape victim inadmissible as evidence against the victim in court. They've also worked on two federal laws called the 'Violence Against Women Act of 1993' and 'The Safer Campuses for Women'. YVI is currently working on several new laws. While you can find CEO of Pacific Crest Media Yvonne "Yvi" Heimann in sunny California now, she was born and raised in Germany. Yvi was educated in business, trained as an electrician, and schooled in the art of hospitality management. By 22, she was running her own pub until a casual comment sparked an epic, international shift in 2007. Upon landing in California, Yvi started her consulting business Ask Yvi, with PCM as her first associate. Also, she fell in love with and later married the company's founder, Peter Oakes. In 2012, when Peter was diagnosed with cancer, Yvi took over Pacific Crest Media, while maintaining her consulting firm, Ask Yvi. Not only was she Peter's partner in life and work, but she became his caretaker in an up-and-down battle with cancer until Peter's death in 2014. Juggling all of this propelled Yvi into becoming the passionate Business Streamliner and Automation Addict she is now, so other small business owners and entrepreneurs create businesses that can withstand anything, including cancer. If you're someone who procrastinates via overthinking, talks yourself out of making decisions, and thinks taking breaks are for wimps, you won't want to miss this episode.
Tonight's special guest is Lika Saliscente from Wisconsin, a lobbyist who specializes in issues related to women and children. She's also the founder of the Youth Voice Initiative, an action group, to take an active stand against those who abuse children. The YVI is a social welfare organization which authors and lobbies the innovative and groundbreaking laws needed to protect children from the dangers that arise from abuse and take away the tools for child predators who conspire to commit crimes against children. It also addresses the growing problem of domestic violence against men and fathers, as well as other abuses against our children. YVI also gathers support for these laws and build awareness to the problems that inspire them. Lika writes, "I have successfully lobbied the State of Wisconsin for Act 177, a fair pay bill for equal work as well as the "Mini Skirt Bill" which renders the attire of the rape victim inadmissible as evidence against the victim in the court of law." And she goes on, "I've also successfully lobbied for the federal law called the Violence Against Women Act of 1993. The Safer Campuses for Women was written by the Wisconsin student body." YVI is currently working on April's Law Wisconsin, currently going to the floor of the State Assembly, and the federal version yet to be introduced. We are also still working on getting equal services, shelter and support for our male abuse victims, as currently there are little to nothing for them.
