Solon is one of the seven sages of Athens, and he's credited with laying the groundwork for Athenian democracy. Herakles, der Sohn des Zeus, wird von Eurystheus (dem Nachfahr des Perseus, der von Hera übrigens extra vor Herakles auf die Welt gebracht wurde um Zeus Prophezeiung auf ihn umzulenken… siehe Folge 32) beauftragt, 10 Aufgaben zu erfüllen, um Unsterblichkeit zu erlangen. Hera schlägt Herakles mit Wahn und verursacht eine Tragödie. Dann geht Herakles nach Mykene und bewältigt die ersten Arbeiten für Eurystheus: Herakles muss den unbesiegbaren nemeischen Löwen zu töten. Mit List und Tapferkeit überwindet er diese erste Prüfung. Als nächstes muss Herakles die Hydra bekämpfen, eine neunköpfige Schlange, deren Köpfe immer wieder nachwachsen. Mit Unterstützung seines Neffen und einer klugen Strategie besiegt er auch diese gefährliche Kreatur. Die kerynithische Hirschkuh oder Hindin, ein heiliges Tier der Artemis ist sehr schnell und lässt sich ein Jahr lang jagen. Der Erymanthische Eber, ebenfalls heilig, aber mit Schnee wird Herakles auch ihn einfangen. Auf seinem Weg begegnet Herakles einem freundlichen Kentaur namens Pholos, der ihm einen besonderen Wein anbietet. Doch die Begegnung endet tragisch. Dennoch gelingt es Herakles, die Aufgabe zu erfüllen und den Erymanthischen Eber zu fangen. Durch die Übersetzung ins Basel- und Berndeutsche wird die alte Tragödie topaktuell. Die moderne Mundart wirkt unmittelbarer auf das Publikum als gestelztes Bühnendeutsch. Am Theater Basel wird aktuell das fast 2500 Jahre alte Stück «Antigone» von Sophokles aufgeführt. Allerdings nicht auf Hochdeutsch, wie das an Deutschschweizer Theatern üblich ist, sondern im Dialekt. Konkret hat Lucien Haug die klassische Tragödie ins Baseldeutsche und ins Berndeutsche übersetzt. Die beiden Dialekte verteilen sich auf die beiden Fraktionen, die in «Antigone» die zentrale Frage verhandeln: Was ist wichtiger? Weltliches Recht und Disziplin oder göttliches Recht und die Familie? Antigone spricht Berndeutsch, Kreon Baseldeutsch Während Kreon, der König von Theben und seine Leute Baseldeutsch sprechen, reden Antigone und ihre Unterstützer Berndeutsch. Das Stück spielt gleichzeitig im antiken Griechenland und in der heutigen Deutschschweiz. Durch popkulturelle Bezüge, nicht zuletzt die Rivalität zwischen FC Basel und Young Boys Bern, bringt der Text das Publikum immer wieder zum Schmunzeln – aber auch zum Nachdenken. "Antigone": die Schwester der beiden, versucht den Streit zu schlichten und wird versuchen beiden einen gleichsam würdigen Übergang in den Hades zu ermöglichen. Literarne, gledališke, glasbene in filmske ocene.Žižkova interpretacija Antigone je, kot bi pričakovali, nasprotna večinski intuicijiŽižkova interpretacija Antigone je, kot bi pričakovali, nasprotna večinski intuiciji. Glavna junakinja drame ni politična borka za univerzalno dobro, temveč za partikularno. V kontekstu sodobne Evrope jo mislec primerja s skrajno desnico, ki zahteva vračilo k domnevnim lokalnim tradicijam. Kreon, na drugi strani, je resnični tragični lik, ki z doslednim uveljavljanjem zakona skuša ohraniti družbeno vezivo, in za to plača visoko ceno. Filozofova drama je dialektična: v skladu s siceršnjimi izpeljavami sta tako lažni progresizem Antigone kot slepi legalizem Kreona slabi izbiri. Zadevo lahko reši samo revolucionarni subjekt, ki gre z njima onkraj njiju. Film sestavljajo tri jasno razmejene linije. Prva je Žižkovo izvajanje tez v črnem filmskem prostoru. Drugi je uprizarjanje prizorov njegove drame, ki ga slovenski gledalci izvajajo na različnih lokacijah v Ljubljani. Tretja pa kolaž arhivskih posnetkov, političnih govorov in protestov, ki segajo vse od druge svetovne vojne do sodobnosti, posnetkov, ki odsevajo razvoj protislovij Evrope ter nastanek in krizo Evropske unije. Gledalci, ki ne poznajo Žižkove misli in njenih osnovnih izhodišč, bodo vse tri najbrž težko prepletli. To je namreč, vse do konca, dokajšen izziv tudi za tiste, ki se s filozofijo bolj redno ukvarjajo. Ne gre za to, da bi bil osrednji protagonist filma hermetičen, prej za to, da nam režiser pomen skozi omenjeno razcepljenost zgolj nakazuje. Vsebinsko jedro filma je toliko bolj zaprto, ker se ukvarja z Evropo kot bolj ali manj izoliranim in enovitim območjem. Simptomatična je Žižkova izjava, da je do stanja celine kritičen, vendar vse kritike, na primer protirasistična in feministična, vendarle izhajajo iz evropske tradicije. Pri tem spregleda, da je tudi rasizem sam v današnji obliki produkt Evrope, da so ideje in prakse enakopravnosti spolov obstajale na drugih celinah, da je vpliv evropske filozofije razumljiv tudi zaradi idejnega kolonializma. Pa seveda to, da je evropska identiteta, kot tudi druge, fikcija, utemeljena na namernem potlačevanju drugih vplivov, in da ima morda Južna Evropa več skupnega s severno Afriko kot Skandinavijo. Stara Grčija, denimo, temelji tudi na idejah starega Egipta in Perzije. Levičarska rešitev, kakor jo ponudi režiser v igranem delu, je smiselna, vendar poigravanje s starim komunističnim imaginarijem ter črnim humorjem o streljanju nasprotnikov deluje organsko preživeto. Na filmu je preprosto nekaj boomerskega; nekaj takega, kar bi morda delovalo pred nekaj leti, medtem ko se je zdajšnji zgodovinski trenutek od tega pospešeno oddaljil. Kljub temu si ga je vredno ogledati; Žižkove izpeljave so vendarle intelektualno stimulativne, poetika igranih prizorov ter izvedbe domačih igralcev vzbudita radovednost, arhivski posnetki pa osvežujejo spomin in stvari postavljajo v kontekst.

Sophocles challenges social norms with Antigone. Antigone tells us what drives her. She is obeying the gods rather than Kreon because his edict is invalid because it goes against what the gods have told her to do with her family, namely to bury them.

The basic plot is that after Oedipus gouges out his eyes and leaves Thebes, his two sons Polynices and Eteocles decide to rule, not in tandem, but alternately. When Eteocles doesn't relinquish the throne, Polynices enlists the help of the Argives to conquer the city and take the throne. Both he and Eteocles meet on the battlefield and destroy each other. Kreon takes the throne who is their uncle and brother to Oedipus' wife and mother Jocasta. So Kreon makes an edict that Polynices is an enemy of the state and shouldn't be buried.

Opisuję dwie figury - uroczej, zawsze młodej dziewoi oraz walecznej i zasadniczej Amazonki, które są dwoma (pośród wielu) archetypami żeńskiej psychiki. Wyznaczają dwa bieguny, pomiędzy skrajnie opozycyjnymi cechami, które może mieć każda z nas, w różnym natężeniu. Pamiętając, że czyste Dziewoje i Amazonki zdarzają się jedynie w baśniach i mitach, możemy obserwować swój środek ciężkości, wyciągać wnioski i szukać dróg, które wyjmą nas z przymusów bycia "słodką i wdzięczną" albo "zwartą i gotową" i zmniejszać naszą identyfikację z powszechnie narzucanymi wzorcami.

Piotrusia Pana nie trzeba przedstawiać, wieczny chłopiec mogący wszystko w swojej Nibylandii. Kreona warto przypomnieć - surowy ojciec Antygony i władca Teb, który prawo przedkładał nad miłość do dziecka. Pierwszy i drugi reprezentują dwa, skrajnie odmienne wzorce męskiej psychiki. Jeden niefrasobliwość ma na sztandarze i nie zwykł był płacić swoich rachunków. Drugi z zasadniczości i pryncypialności uczynił klucz do każdego zamka, nawet cyfrowego. Odcinek poświęcony tym emanacjom męskości, przeróżnym powodom dla których wpadamy w projekcje na ich temat oraz nowym pytaniom o męskość.

Es ist vollbracht. Kreon ist besiegt, Atlantis… Huch. Falsches Spiel, falsches Ende. Ende? Ihr lest richtig. In nur 3 Folgen haben es Jörg und Kai geschafft in der Stadt der verlorenen Kinder selbige zu retten. Am Ende klingen die beiden aber nicht euphorisch, sondern eher lethargisch. “Was haben wir hier gerade gemacht?”, lautet die große Frage, nach deren Antwort die Beiden suchen. Viel Spaß mit der letzten Folge der 2. Staffel Durchgewalt: Die Stadt der verlorenen Kinder.

Es ist vollbracht. Kreon ist besiegt, Atlantis... na ja, lassen wir das. Bevor Jörg und Kai aber mit Eno zusammen den Sieg und das Ende der Reise feiern können, gilt es erst einmal einige Widrigkeiten zu umschiffen. Da die beiden Abenteurer ihr Mindset mittlerweile komplett auf das Spiel eingestellt haben, wundern sie sich zwar über all den Mist der hier passiert, sind sich aber für die abwegisten Rätsel bzw. Lösungsansätze auch nicht zu schade. So werden in der letzten Folge sogar Karten gezeichnet, Kai geht seinem Fetisch auf goldenen Statuen nach und mit dem Bösewicht spielen wir Hascher. Da dieser ganze verschwurbelte Quatsch eh langsam keinen Sinn mehr ergibt, wird noch ein wenig Star Wars reingemixt. Mit der Macht und dem Prinzessin-Leia-Bikini. Am Ende gibt es noch ein ca. 10 minütiges Fazit und da die beiden ein großes Geheimnis daraus machen...aus dem nächsten geplanten Spiel wurde nix. Statt dessen folgt in Staffel 2: "Die Stadt der verlorenen Kinder". Jetzt aber erstmal viel Spaß mit der letzen Folge von Atlantis

Antigona je prevod in priredba Jovanovićeve Antigone (Balkanska trilogija) v angleški jezik, z mednarodno zasedbo igralcev iz Italije, Amerike, Britanije in Slovenije. Zgodba sledi klasičnemu antičnemu mitu o bratomoru in prepovedanem pokopu brata izdajalca, le da je postavljena v zasedeno Sarajevo v čas krvave balkanske vojne. Kraljeva družina se skriva v zaklonišču, kjer si Kreon, Jokasta, Antigona in Ismena prepevajo stari jugo rok in kjer prerok Tejrezias napoveduje prihodnost iz straniščne kolibe. Predstava nastaja v spomin na vojne dogodke na ozemlju nekdanje Jugoslavije in v trajen opomin, da je preteklo zgodovino nujno spoštovati in prenašati na nove rodove. This week is mostly catch up with all the craziness leading up to SDCC. Not a lot news, but ridiculous amounts of sightings and new pre-orders which is about par for the course. With Joecon came The Concept Case. This thing has instigated a lot of discussion and as with all fandoms a good share of negativity. These two Kreon "combiners" kicked off what we would find out at SDCC is basically an amazing new direction for Kre-O Transformers. Star Wars has been a little lack luster as of late, but we have a little more Vintage on the way, but not much else. SPOILER, the first part of 2013 is going to suck. Lastly, Matty had an amazing (in my opinion at least) albeit expensive month. The Griffin, Atrocitus, Green Lion, Horde Prime and Snake Man-At-Arms were superb.

Hier lebte er zehn Jahre mit ihr, und sie gebar ihm zwei Söhne, Memeros und Pheros mit Namen. Während jener Zeit war Medea nicht nur um ihrer Schönheit willen, sondern auch wegen ihres edlen Sinnes und ihrer übrigen Vorzüge von ihrem Gatten geliebt und geehrt. Als aber später die Zeit die Reize ihrer Gestalt allmählich vertilgte, wurde Iason von der Schönheit eines jungen Mädchens, der Tochter des Korintherkönigs Kreon, mit Namen Glauke, entzündet und betört. Ohne daß seine Gattin darum wußte, warb er um die Jungfrau, und erst nachdem der Vater eingewilligt und den Tag der Hochzeit bestimmt hatte, suchte er seine Gemahlin zu bewegen, daß sie freiwillig auf die Ehe verzichten sollte. Medea war entrüstet über diesen Antrag und rief zürnend die Götter an, als Zeugen seiner Schwüre. Iason achtete desen nicht und vermählte sich mit der Königstochter. Verzweifelnd irrte Medea im Palast ihres Gatten umher. »Wehe mir«, rief sie, »möchte die Flamme des Himmels auf meinem Haupt herniederzücken! Was soll ich länger leben? Möchte der Tod sich meiner erbarmen! O Vater, o Vaterstadt, die ich schimpflich verlassen habe! O Bruder, den ich gemordet und dessen Blut jetzt über mich kommt! Aber nicht an meinem Gatten Iason war es, mich zu strafen; für ihn habe ich gesündigt! Göttin der Gerechtigkeit, mögest du ihn und sein junges Weib verderben!« Noch jammerte sie so, als Kreon, Iasons neuer Schwiegervater, im Palast ihr begegnete. »Du finster Blickende, auf deinen Gemahl Ergrimmte«, redete er sie an, »nimm deine Söhne an der Hand und verlaße mein Land auf der Stelle; ich werde nicht nach Hause kehren, ehe ich dich über meine Grenzen gejagt.« Medea, ihren Zorn unterdrückend, sprach mit gefaßter Stimme: »Warum fürchtest du ein Übel von mir, Kreon? Was hast du mir Böses getan, was wärest du mir schuldig? Nur meinen Gatten hasse ich, der mir alles schuldig ist. Doch es ist geschehen; mögen sie als Gatten leben. Mich aber laßt in diesem Lande wohnen; denn obgleich ich tief gekränkt bin, so will ich doch schweigen und den Mächtigeren mich unterwerfen.« Aber Kreon sah ihr die Wut in den Augen an, er traute ihr nicht, obgleich sie seine Kniee umschlang und ihn bei dem Namen der eigenen, ihr so verhaßten Tochter Glauke beschwor. »Geh«, erwiderte er, »und befreie mich von Sorgen!« Da bat sie nur um einen einzigen Tag Aufschub, um einen Weg zur Flucht und ein Asyl für ihre Kinder wählen zu können. »Meine Seele ist nicht tyrannisch«, sprach nun der König; »schon viel törichte Nachgiebigkeit habe ich aus falscher Scheu geübt. Auch jetzt fühle ich, daß ich nicht weise handle; dennoch sei es dir gestattet, Weib.« Als Medea die gewünschte Frist erhalten hatte, bemächtigte sich ihrer der Wahnsinn, und sie schritt zur Vollführung einer Tat, die ihr wohl bisher dunkel im Geist vorgeschwebt, an deren Möglichkeit sie aber selbst nicht geglaubt hatte. Dennoch machte sie vorher einen letzten Versuch, ihren Gatten von seinem Unrecht und seinem Frevel zu überzeugen. Sie trat vor ihn und sprach zu ihm: »O du schlimmster aller Männer, du hast mich verraten, bist einen neuen Ehebund eingegangen, während du doch Kinder hast. Wärest du kinderlos, so wollte ich dir verzeihen; du hättest eine Ausrede. So bist du unentschuldbar; Meinst du, die Götter, die damals herrschten, als du mir Treue versprachst, regieren nicht mehr, oder es seien den Menschen neue Gesetze für ihre Handlungen gegeben worden, daß du glaubst, meineidig werden zu dürfen? Er versprach ihr, sie und die Kinder, mit reichlich Geld und Briefen an seine Gastfreunde versehen, zu entlassen. Sie aber verschmähte alles: »Geh, vermähle dich«, sprach sie; »du wirst eine Hochzeit feiern, die dich schmerzen wird!« Als sie ihren Gemahl verlassen hatte, reuten sie die letzten Worte wieder, nicht, weil sie anderen Sinnes geworden war, sondern weil sie fürchtete, er möchte ihre Schritte beobachten und sie an der Ausübung ihres Frevels verhindern. Sie ließ daher um eine zweite Unterredung mit ihm bitten und sprach zu ihm mit veränderter Miene: »Iason, verzeih mir, was ich gesprochen; der blinde Zorn hat mich verführt, ich sehe jetzt ein, daß alles, was du getan hast, zu unserm eigenen Besten gereichen soll. Arm und verbannt sind wir hierhergekommen; du willst durch deine neue Heirat für dich, für deine Kinder, zuletzt auch für mich selbst sorgen. Wenn sie eine Weile fern gewesen sind, wirst du deine Söhne zurückrufen, wirst sie teilnehmen lassen am Glück der Geschwister, die sie erhalten sollen. Kommt herbei, kommt herbei, Kinder, umarmt euren Vater, versöhnt euch mit ihm, wie ich mich mit ihm versöhnt habe!« Iason glaubte an diese Sinnesänderung und war hocherfreut darüber, er versprach ihr und den Kindern das Beste; und Medea fing an, ihn noch sicherer zu machen. Sie bat ihn, die Kinder bei sich zu behalten und sie alleine ziehen zu lassen. Damit die neue Gattin und ihr Vater dieses dulde, ließ sie aus ihrer Vorratskammer köstliche goldene Gewänder holen und reichte sie dem Iason als Brautgeschenk für die Königstochter. Nach einigem Bedenken ließ dieser sich überreden, und ein Diener ward abgesandt, die Gaben der Braut zu bringen. Aber diese köstlichen Kleider waren mit Zauberkraft getränkte giftige Gewänder, und als Medea heuchlerischen Abschied von ihrem Gatten genommen hatte, harrte sie von Stunde zu Stunde, der Nachricht vom Empfang ihrer Geschenke die ein vertrauter Bote ihr bringen sollte. Dieser kam endlich und rief ihr entgegen: »Steig in dein Schiff, Medea, fliehe! fliehe! Deine Feindin und ihr Vater sind tot. Doch Iason besänftigte ihren Zorn, sprach ein gutes Wort für dich und breitete die Geschenke vor ihr aus. Als sie die herrlichen Gewande sah, wurde ihr das Herz von der Pracht gereizt, es wandte sich, und sie versprach ihrem Bräutigam, in alles zu willigen. Als dein Gemahl mit den Söhnen sie verlassen hatte, griff sie mit Begierde nach dem Schmuck, legte den Goldmantel um, setzte den goldenen Kranz sich ins Haar und betrachtete sich vergnügt in einem hellen Spiegel. Dann durchwandelte sie die Gemächer und freute sich wie ein kindisches Mädchen ihrer Herrlichkeit. Bald aber wechselte das Schauspiel. Mit verwandelter Farbe, an allen Gliedern zitternd, wankte sie rückwärts, und bevor sie ihren Sitz erreicht hatte, stürzte sie auf den Boden nieder, erbleichte, begann die Augensterne zu verdrehen, und Schaum trat ihr vor den Mund. Wehklagen ertönte in dem Palaste, die einen Diener eilten zu ihrem Vater, die andern zu ihrem künftigen Gatten. Inzwischen flammte der verzauberte Kranz auf ihrem Haupte in Feuer auf; Gift und Flamme zehrten an ihr um die Wette; und als ihr Vater jammernd herbeigestürzt kam, fand er nur noch den entstellten Leichnam der Tochter. Er warf sich in Verzweiflung auf sie; vom Gifte des mörderischen Gewandes ergriffen, hat auch er sein Leben geendet.« Die Erzählung dieser Greuel, statt die Wut Medeas zu dämpfen, entflammte sie vielmehr; und ganz zur Erinye Rachsucht geworden, rannte sie fort, ihrem Gatten und sich selbst den tödlichsten Schlag zu versetzen. Sie eilte zur Kammer, wo ihre Söhne schliefen; denn die Nacht war herbeigekommen. »Waffne dich, mein Herz«, sprach sie unterwegs zu sich selber, »was zögerst du, das Gräßliche und Notwendige zu vollbringen? Vergiß, Unglückliche, daß es deine Kinder sind, daß du sie geboren hast. Nur diese eine Stunde vergiß es! Nachher beweine sie dein ganzes Leben lang. Du tust ihnen selbst einen Dienst. Tötest du sie nicht, so sterben sie von einer feindseligen Hand.« Als Iason in sein Haus geflogen kam, die Mörderin seiner jungen Braut aufsuchend und sie seiner Rache zu opfern, scholl ihm das Jammergeschrei seiner Kinder entgegen, die unter dem Mordstahl bluteten; er trat in die aufgestoßene Kammer und fand seine Söhne wie Schuldopfer hingewürgt. Als er in Verzweiflung sein Haus verließ, hörte er in der Luft ein Geräusch über seinem Haupt. Emporschauend ward er hier die fürchterliche Mörderin gewahr, wie sie auf einem mit Drachen bespannten Wagen, den ihre Kunst herbeigezaubert hatte, durch die Lüfte davonfuhr und den Schauplatz ihrer Rache verließ. Iason hatte die Hoffnung verloren, sie je für ihren Frevel zu strafen; die Verzweiflung kam über ihn, er stürzte sich in sein Schwert und fiel auf der Schwelle seines Hauses.
