Welcome to the most chaotic week of IndyCar in years. Well, he was back with a vengence in Japan as Red Bull would go onto dominate the Japanese GP with a 1-2 finish in its new April timeslot. But in optimistic news, if there was any doubt left, Ferrari are clearly the #2 team with Carlos Sainz keeping up his 100% podium streak alive, and Charles Leclerc with a masterful tyre saving drive to finish 4th, we break down their performances, as well as the reshuffle behind the scenes at McLaren and the struggles of Mercedes. We also breakdown the Lap 1 crash between Alex Albon and Daniel Ricciardo, and with Yuki Tsunoda in the points (The first for a Japanese rider at home since 2012), is the Honey Badger's seat in trouble? Apologies this one's coming out a little bit later than planned, it's been a really busy week back at M101 HQ and you'll know about it later this week, promise. But yeah, F1 is back in Bahrain to kick off 2024 and the racing itself (And there wasn't much of it), already feels like it was playing second fiddle to the politics and horrible drama that has been the Christian Horner investigation, and this podcast drops more news and talk about those rumours. Again, be careful, it's near the end of the episode if you think it may be upsetting. But we also talk about Max Verstappen and Career Win #55 as he dominated proceedings to win very much like how last season ended. But what do we make of the state of the field now we've seen the cars in action at full speed. Haas not as bad as expected? Williams slipping? And what the heck is going on at Alpine after a diasterous pre-season and now we know that two major parts of their technical staff have since resigned? All that and a whole lot more on a (slightly late), M101!

Well, this is it. The 500th Episode of Motorsport101. And in an idea that came together by the wonderful RJ O'Connell, we decided to recount and retell the 50 most important moments in the nine and a half year history of the show. Back in October 2014, Dre Harrison and Ryan King decided to start a podcast for Dre's final-year University project. We never thought a decade on, we'd still be doing this. From the 2014 Russian GP, to Cam and RJ's debuts, to Kurt Busch's ex-girlfriend being a trained assassin, all the way to Abu Dhabi 2021, Marc Marquez leaving Honda and so many of us actually finding a better place for ourselves in and outside of Motorsport. This is an archive of the moments that made us, and made Motorsport what it's become in the last decade. And make no mistake, we couldn't have done it without you, the audience. This place has grown so much in the last decade and we know there's 100 plus places you can get your Motorsport news and opinion fix... you chose us. That means the world. While we were delighted for Enea Bastianini to take his first win for the factory Ducati team, the distance between the Top 4 was exacerbated by a heavy amount of dirty air. The tyre pressure issue reared its ugly head again as well as five riders break the rule on the limits and Bagnaia loses his practical "joker" after Martin's "illegal" win in Thailand. Is there anything that can be done to fix the problem? And we also talk more about the incoming mess at Repsol Honda. Red Bull will be walking away from the team as a key sponsor at the end of the year, and Luca Marini has now become the favourite for the Marquez replacement seat in 2024. But with Valencia's test now just 13 days away, is it a good look for the most decorated team in the business to have no confirmed lineup and 50 crashes on the season? It's a headache inducing M101 and it starts now!

It's happened again. Alex Palou has caused another big contract dispute, or it's continued on from last year depending on who you ask - And we called in our super-sub Ryan Erik King to fill in for Cam Buckley to try and make sense of this hot mess. So the latest chapter of the Palou dispute has now had the Champion-Elect Spaniard tell Zak Brown he's backing out of his agreement to join McLaren in 2024 despite having an agreement in place. It's caused yet more tension as Zak's kicked up a stink and ran to Jenna Fryer, Chip Ganassi has commented on the story for the first time ever and rips into McLaren, and even Palou's old management has severed ties with Palou as a fall out of the drama. What the fuck is going on here and what the heck happens next?! We also talk about the Gallagher GP of last weekend and Scott Dixon shocked the world to pull off the Spin-And-Win from the back of the field and the opening lap of the race to win by getting back on sequence via a 2-stopper in a race of 3's. And he had to stop a dominant, 36-lap leading Graham Rahal to do it, after his first pole position in six years. We go in-depth on Dixon's 19th consecutive season with a win, in his 319th consecutive start. And we also talk on yesterday's breaking news that Jack Harvey was immediately released from his RLL contract ahead of Gateway next weekend. All that on a heaped M101!

We also talk about the tame Race 2 as the rain led to a 90-minute delay, and then a race that had next to no action in it at all as Nick Cassidy would dominate to take 2nd in the Championship and the Teams Title for Envision Racing, one of the originals getting their big moment! Can there be any worse feeling for Josef Newgarden after winning both Iowa races in such dominant fashion than seeing Alex Palou shake his hand after finishing on the podium? In a scene straight out of The Office, that's exactly what happened! M101 recount the tale as Josef Newgarden and Penske completely restablished their short oval dominance, leading literally 99.4% of all the Iowa laps across the weekend. And with Josef taking 340 of those laps and reducing the lead down to just 80 points - Can Josef make another late comeback and gun Palou down? Also, is it time the series push for more ovals? Would we like to see Milwakuee and other Ovals back on the calendar after a 30% increase in TV ratings? And a live reaction to the news that Nashville is becoming the season finale, all on another M101!

Another complicated week in the F1 circus as the sport headed to North America and the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. And we even got a special guest, Ryan Erik King from Jalopnik is here for the next two episodes! Max Verstappen made more history with his 13th win of 2022 making him just the third man ever with a 13 in a year. But he had to earn it after a botched 11-second final pitstop meant he had to chase down Charles Leclerc and a surprising Lewis Hamilton threat, in what turned out to be quite possibly F1's race of the year. We break down a thriller of a US race. And within that, we also had a frightening crash. A 185mph clash between Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso the future teammates as Stroll turning into Alonso, nearly put the Spainard into the catchfence. Amazingly, Alonso was able to keep the car going despite being airborne (Marcus Ericsson, anyone?), and finish in 7th... until a post-race controversy regarding the lack of a meatball flag led to a protest from Haas. Again, the boys take a look at whether Stroll was in the wrong and whether Alonso should have been punished. We also talk about the diffcult to handle news out of Red Bull that their own Dietrich Mateschitz passed away at the age of 78. He was responsible for so much of the funding and investment that's made modern day F1 what it is. But he's also made some horrific comments about the world at large with his platforms. Mitch now resides just 9 points off the top of the Championship? Does King have to eat a Blueberry Pie after being adamant that Jaguar won't win? Including trying to sync up Quali laps, having a mood room Parc Ferme style after the race, and adding extra... rather cringey intros during Qualifying. No, despite the occasional 10/10 in a Season Review, Ryan King doesn't stan Valtteri Bottas. Honest. Even if the episode title MIGHT suggest otherwise! F1's travelling circus moved to Istanbul Park this past weekend for the return of the Turkish Grand Prix. And since coming back, its 100% wet record has been maintained as it was an Intermediate damp fest for the 2nd time. But the biggest news of all was that Championship Leader Lewis Hamilton was taking a new ICE engine on, and hence, a 10-place grid penalty. What we perhaps didn't see coming was the rise of Valtteri Bottas. After Hamilton took “pole”, Bottas was bumped up to the top, and Verstappen… Who then proceeded to get seal clubbed in a near flawless drive from the Fin. His 10th GP win, the 35th member of the double digit club. But this race still found a way to be the Hamilton show too, after a controversial decision to disagree with his team as to when to pit for fresh Inters, with Hamilton wanting to copy pseudo-leader Charles Leclerc and run on Inters to the end. Trust me, this wasn't ideal. We discuss that move and whether drivers or cars should make the call on changeable conditions! We also talk about F1's expanding calendar as Stefano Domenicalli revealed that F1 will definitely have a 23-race calendar next year, the toll that may take on the team, crew and drivers. Should F1 be pushing for 25-race calendars? How do we feel about it? And what do we make of Losail making F1's calendar for this year in Japan's place? All that and more on Episode 327 of M101!

The biggest F1 Championship Flashpoint in maybe half a decade landed at the British Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton takes a narrower line into Copps... and you know what happened next. This week I am joined for a chat with Brian O'Loughlin, one of the founders of Movement 101. I joined up to their online programme last year after having a few different injuries, and just getting fed up with one injury leading on to another! So it was great to chat in person with Brian and hear more about the ethos behind the movement!Brian and his business partner Rob recognised the need for people, in general, to first learn to move their bodies better before they then go on to engage in whatever sport or activity they choose. Their thinking is that we can overcome most pain and injury if we work on the daily movement of our body first. As opposed to maybe working 5 days a week sat slouched over a computer and then wonder what is wrong with us when our back gives way when we go say, surfing on the weekend. We've gone from 0 to 90 and then feel let down by our body when it can't cooperate with the rapid transition!  Importantly, Movement101 advocates that rather than letting that back pain (or whatever pain) define what we can continue to do (or not do) in the future, they propose we can return to active sport, once we have integrated daily movement and preparation of the back, spine or whatever body part, first.   The chat moves on to introduce a new men's only platform that they are launching this week, called Telos. I think this is a very interesting development in their journey to integrate learning more about the body, the mind, and personal development holistically. It was a weekend with screws being turned. Andre Harrison, Ryan King and RJ O'Connell (with Chris DeHarde for the IndyCar section), return with Episode 161! In it, we review the Singapore Grand Prix. Ferrari goes missing, and Lewis Hamilton delivers another perfect weekend to put the title within reach, now 40 points clear with just 6 rounds left. We also review Sergio Perez going crazy with two hits on his teammate and on Sergei Sirotkin! We also take a look at the IndyCar Grand Prix of Sonoma, with Ryan Hunter-Reay dominating the weekend leading 80 of 85 laps from pole, and Dixon following along in 2nd to win his 5th IndyCar title, just the 2nd man ever to get there. We also look at Alex Rossi, who lost a lap on the start, got it back, and then passed 17 cars to finish in 7th in a last ditch attempt to win the title. All that and more on a "stacked" M101. Anyone for Pancakes?

Says a lot when the maddest part of the weekend happened on Thursday! In Episode 157 of M101, Andre Harrison, Ryan King and Chris DeHarde break down a Belgian GP known for off-track politics just as much as on-track as Force India gets shut down and immediately brought back... For a 2nd row lockout, and a double Top 6 finish in their best result of the season. Oh, and Sebastian Vettel won. That's about it. We also review IndyCar at Gateway as Scott Dixon, Alex Rossi and Will Power went to war in Gateway, and we sponsored a lap! And it was awesome! Enjoy!

Rain so bad, the race had to be re-run on Monday.with Josef Newgarden dominating proceedings to take his 2nd win of 2018, with Ryan Hunter-Reay's best IndyCar finish in over 2 years, and James Hinchcliffe rounding off the podium. We get into the battle at the front, the rain, TWO cases of fight club between Marco Andretti, Zachary, Clackary, Machary, and Gabby Chaves and Simon Pagenaud nearly getting into a fistfight, and much, much more in this IndyCar special episode with Andre Harrison, RJ O'Connell and Ryan King!
