You are in for such an awesome treat today and this is hands-down one of my fave interviews of all-time, and we’re about 30 in, so that’s saying a lot. I will warn you that there is salty language in this episode so if you have tiny humans around, throw on your headphones, but trust me when I tell you that you need this interview in your life. And why? Because my guest, Anaïs Bock, is here to tell you all about the monsters holding you back in your business – and in life. They are, specifically, the Bullshit Monsters™. And I personally have never laughed so hard while confronting my demons – and I bet you will, too. But do not make the mistake of confusing Anaïs’ humor with lack of seriousness. She is laser-focused on squashing entrepreneurial self-sabotage, and drawing out the very best you have to offer so that you can leave the negative self-chatter behind, and focus on crushing it in your business. And today, Anaïs and I talk about: The outer revolution in 2011 which caused her inner revolution to start her businessHow her first business led to a rude awakening about lies she was telling herselfHow her work was taken and applied in several Fortune 500 companies – under someone else’s nameHow she had to be her own best case study to Leapfrog past her Bullshit Monsters™How the Coronavirus epidemic lit a fire under her to turn her dream into realityHow you will always have your own monsters, no matter which goals you meet along the way – and how to handle itWhy you need to use your anger as fuelNow buckle up for this one because Anaïs is a whole mood that you definitely want to be a part of. She is hear to shatter your Imposter Syndrome, and who doesn’t want that? More about AnaïsFind her on InstagramGet your hands on the Bullshit Monsters book and card deck – and blast your Impostor Syndrome!BioAnaïs Bock is a leadership trainer, communication strategist and the CEO of Let’s Work Magic. She works with Fortune 500 companies and entrepreneurs, speaking on international stages in fluent German, English and Spanish. Anaïs is best known for the four-part Purpose Diagram and the Bullsh*t Monster method. But don’t be fooled by the playfulness, as her programmes help people and teams work with their inner critics and transform self-sabotage into productivity. Her focus during her Master’s (MSc Organisational Behaviour Birkbeck, University of London) was location-independence and the future of work. She has been researching purpose and everything that inhibits it since 2011 and has helped a series of big corporate players with their definition and operationalisation of purpose, at an individual, team and organisational level. Anaïs Bock has lived in 7 countries and is now based in Berlin, Germany.

FVC Sermon Podcast

https://youtu.be/JUjULncwhJQ Insane Man with Saliva On His beard - 1st Samuel 1:21 There’s some pretty big things that David does here that are really really bad. David lies to the priestThis is a big deal Prov 17:20 He who has a deceitful heart finds no good, the priest asks- here by yourself? You’re the King?- What are you doing here? HE LIESThe priest more than likely has heard that David is on the lam- he’s trying to see whats upDavid should have told him the truth- Saul is trying to kill me! I need to be hidden- I need help! This is the Priest! This is the guy who is in a position to help him- a guy who can protect himBut no- for whatever reason- David chooses to lie to protect himself. Leviticus 19:11 ‘You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.Henry- David had great faith and courage, yet both failed him; he fell thus foully through fear and cowardice, and owing to the weakness of his faith. David eats the consecrated breadOnly Levites were allowed to eat this bread. Proverbs 20:17 Bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man, But afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel.12 loves, 12 tribes, fresh every week, eaten by the priests only. Showed Israel dependence Exodus 25:30 And you shall set the showbread on the table before Me always. Leviticus 24:8–9 Makes it clear- Only the priests are allowed to eat it (feasting- JC Bread of Life)God showed him mercy in this instance- but he wasn’t supposed to eat it in the first placeIt was wrong. It was not for him. It was for the Priests. God forgave it- but its not his ideal. David takes Goliaths swordHow do you go from fully trusting God, killing Goliath with a sling shot to now, trying to find a way to defend yourself from Saul?Jeremiah 17:7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.Who is he trusting? Is he trusting in God, or trusting in his own strength? He eventually learned- Psalm 3:3 But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. But that’s not happening now- Its an act of unbelief that he takes the sword- an act of unbelief. David hides with the enemySo the lying, bread stealing, unfaithful man goes a step further. Looking for protection? You can go and set up shop with the enemy- The ones who worship false gods, hurt Israel, pagansHelp me understand- how do you go from defeating the enemy to sleeping with the enemy? You don’t go and find comfort with the Nation of Israel, but with the enemy? What the heck? The King of Gath is a sworn enemy of Israel- and now David is going to find protection there? David acts like a foolSo david is there- he is with the Enemy- He’s made some bad decisions- This guy Doeg is there watching David- probably going to report back to Saul where he’s atDavid loses his marbles here- He goes from the triumphant soon King that defeated Goliath to a faking madman- Scratching on the walls and drooling on himself- No fight. No confrontation- Just- I’m going to act crazy- that will get me out of this bind. I’m crazy- that’s why I did that! What do we do with that? What’s the message? The “don’ts” are pretty obvious- Don’t lie. Don’t be unholy. Don’t trust in your own strength. Don’t go to the enemy. Don’t be a fool- This is not a “be like David” moment. It’s the oppositeDavid has failed God, himself, Israel, his family, He has, in this instance ruined his good nameHow can a man like this be trusted to lead God’s people? How can he be used by God now? The truth is that some of the most powerful influential men of God in the Bible fell into some of the most grevious sins. This passage of Scripture tells us a few things The Bible is realMany people who argue with the Bible argue against its authenticity based on the stories of the failures in the Bible. Moses the murderer. Tamar the woman who prostituted herself to her father in law. The Apostle Paul killed Christians. Peter denied Christ. Jonah was disobedient.
