Trump's State of the Union was a two-hour Willie Horton ad designed to keep his shrinking base loyal through blood-soaked imagery borrowed from imperial Rome. Proleftpod traces how Michele Bachmann's 2011 Tea Party response prefigured today's MAGA lies by pretending the Great Recession never happened, just as Trump pretends away ICE murders, the Epstein files, and economic chaos. It's about memory, manipulation, and why the anomalies we remember from the past tell us exactly where we're headed. They believed Allah created them. So why didn't they worship Him? It wasn't ignorance. They knew Allah gives life, controls the universe, and sends provision. But when it came to worshipping Him alone, they stopped. That same gap exists today. And it starts with a Name you say in every prayer, every Dua, every day, but may never have truly understood: Ar-Rabb. Scholars say this Name is so vast, it carries the meaning of every other Name and Attribute of Allah within it. Once you see what it contains, your entire relationship with Him shifts. There's a reason the Prophets used this Name when they called upon Allah. A reason it's the opening of the very first Surah. A reason it separates those who merely acknowledge Allah from those who truly worship Him. Ustadh Muhammad Tim Humble explains what Ar-Rabb reveals about Allah's control, His nurturing, His perfect decree, and what changes when you finally grasp what you're saying when you call upon your Rabb. When does sincere advice turn into public humiliation? The Prophet ﷺ called the religion Naseehah. Yet today, that same principle is being misused. Some tear into others under the banner of "advice," while others stay silent about mistakes, afraid to speak up. In this lecture, Sheikh Ahmad Yare explains Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali's treatise Al-Farq Bayna An-Naseehah wa At-Ta'yeer, a work that feels more relevant than ever. There is a line. A razor-thin line between sincere concern for the Deen and ego disguised as righteousness. Between protecting people from error and quietly feeding pride, resentment, or the desire to shame. Ibn Rajab identified the difference with striking clarity. He exposed not only the outward signs, but the hidden intentions beneath them. Some people truly believe they're defending Islam. They quote the right scholars, use the right language, and sound sincere. Yet without realising it, they may be serving Shaytan. The uncomfortable question is this: How do you know you're not one of them? Watch to uncover what Ibn Rajab understood, and what every Muslim needs to reflect on today. Every Ramadan, millions of Muslims fast, pray, and strive, yet many unknowingly lose the reward of their fast, fall into confusion, or enter the month without clarity, confidence, or direction. This special Ramadan Q&A 2026 tackles the real questions people struggle with but rarely receive clear, grounded answers to. From fasting with medical conditions, menstruation rulings, Fidyah, blood donation, eye drops, and Dhikr goals, to Taraweeh, Laylatul Qadr, charity, work-life balance, and Qur'an recitation priorities, this Q&A cuts through confusion and replaces it with certainty. Ustadh Muhammad Tim addresses these issues directly, with clarity, balance, and practical guidance. If you are serious about protecting your fast, maximising your reward, and entering Ramadan with purpose instead of pressure, this session is not optional, it is essential. Introducing Ilm with AMAU - our five-year, semester-based Islamic Studies programme, developed through years of online teaching and student experience. It is built to take sincere Muslims wanting to study Islam, and guide them into becoming serious, grounded students of knowledge. The programme is shaped by a clear understanding of the challenges online students face: distraction, inconsistency, isolation, and lack of direction. Ilm with AMAU aims to close the gap between online learning and traditional on-site study by restoring clarity, discipline, and purpose to the digital learning space. The journey begins with Semester Zero - a practical foundation focused on mindset, habits, sincerity, and the discipline needed to sustain the path of seeking knowledge before formal study begins. With subjects including Aqeedah, Fiqh, Hadith, Tafseer, Seerah and Tarbiyah, this video offers an inside look into the vision, tone, and methodology of the programme. If you want a clear sense of what studying with AMAU is like, this is where it starts. Presenting Hifdh with AMAU, a programme for those who don't want the Qur'an to return to the shelf after Ramadan, but want to be among the people of the Qur'an, the people of Allah and His chosen ones. Many Muslims feel close to the Qur'an in this month. But when routine returns, that closeness fades. Not because of weak intention, but because the journey was never built properly. Hifdh with AMAU is designed to change that, with the help of Allah. It begins where memorisation actually survives: the heart. Before memorising a single ayah, the focus is on building love for the Qur'an, correcting intention, strengthening discipline, and removing the spiritual and lifestyle barriers that quietly break consistency. From there, students learn to read Arabic letters with confidence, correct pronunciation and Makharij, essential Tajweed, and fluency through Al-Fatihah and the Mufassal Surahs. Only then does memorisation begin, step by step, with structure, clear methods, and systems that protect Hifdh long term, helping the sincere student walk the path towards becoming a Hafidh of the Book of Allah. This video marks the beginning of Module One: Hearts Before Hifdh, and the opening of the Hifdh with AMAU journey. It's time to give the Qur'an a new place: from the shelf, to the heart. How is your heart, really? Not broken. Not in crisis. Just… lost. Like something feels slightly off, even if life looks stable on the outside. In this opening episode, Ustadh Muhammad Tim Humble brings you back to the root of that feeling and begins to uncover what a heart in that state truly needs. Sometimes direction isn't about moving somewhere new. It's something far simpler than that. And that's where this episode begins. If you've been quietly asking yourself what the next chapter of your life is supposed to look like, this is where it starts. Are we governing for the moment? Or reacting to it?This week on Balance of Power, Annalise Klingbeil, Leah Ward and Shannon Phillips break down three political pressure points, and what they reveal about leadership in high-stakes moments.First: The fallout from the Tumbler Ridge tragedy in B.C. After reporting revealed OpenAI had flagged violent content from the alleged shooter but did not alert authorities, the panel digs into AI regulation, public safety, and the politics of crisis response. How fast can governments realistically move? And when international media drives the story, does that change the pressure on Ottawa? Then: Alberta's referendum fight. With multiple groups organizing against separatism, and others pushing citizen initiatives of their own, is decentralized activism a strength or a liability? What does effective organizing actually look like before the writ drops?Plus: a new segment, The Opinionati. When progressive columnists publicly question Naheed Nenshi's leadership, what happens inside caucus? Is this a real warning sign — or just the hyper-engaged political class talking to itself? And if there is a pivot coming, what would it look like?AI, organizing, narrative control, and a reminder that sometimes the most strategic move is to touch grass and calm down.Welcome to Balance of Power. Ray Noble, born Dec 17th, 1903, was a British big band leader responsible for composing a number of songs that have become standards. Jazz musicians have long played his tune Cherokee, with its bridge that traverses a number of far-flung key centers foreign to the tune's home key, but he is also responsible for The Very Thought of You, I Hadn't Anyone Till You, Goodnight Sweetheart, The Touch of Your Lips, the lesser-known Love is the Sweetest Thing, and Live Locked Out. He is also remembered as a radio and motion picture star, appearing alongside Burns and Allen and Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy.

What happens when you spend your whole life chasing your dreams, only to realize peace was the real success all along? Five years after their first conversation, Jay sits down in person with global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas for a deeply intimate and unfiltered dialogue about evolution, identity, motherhood, and the courage to begin again. What unfolds isn’t just a reflection on career milestones or public success, it’s a story about slowing down after decades at full speed, choosing peace over pressure, and realizing that the greatest luxury in life isn’t achievement, but time. Priyanka opens up about the ambition that defined her early years, dominating Bollywood, pivoting to Hollywood at the height of her success, and always chasing the next opportunity. In this season of her life, something has shifted. Marriage, motherhood, and hard-won self-awareness have softened the edges of perfectionism and control. Priyanka speaks candidly about feeling “cornered” at pivotal moments, moving continents during one of the darkest periods of her life, and rebuilding from the ground up in a new industry. Through therapy, faith, and the steady presence of her husband Nick, she’s learned to ask a powerful question: Is this thought constructive? In a world that celebrates hustle, Priyanka is learning to celebrate stillness. The most profound transformation, however, came with the birth of her daughter, Malti Marie, a journey marked by fear, fragility, and fierce devotion. Priyanka shares the emotional reality of welcoming a premature baby into the world, the long months in the NICU, and the moment her priorities shifted forever. It was a season that changed how she understood strength, not as control, but in letting go and protecting what matters. Through faith, family, and a steady commitment to her partner, Priyanka’s grown not just as an artist navigating industries, but as a woman more at ease with who she is and where she’s headed. In this interview, you'll learn: How to Pivot Careers Without Losing Yourself How to Stop Being So Hard on Yourself How to Handle Public Criticism Without Breaking How to Communicate Feelings Before Jumping to Solutions How to Trust the Timing of Your Life How to Protect Your Peace in a Noisy World How to Stay Grounded Through Trauma and Uncertainty How to Choose Gratitude Over “What If” Thinking Choosing family won’t cost you your dreams. Slowing down won’t erase your ambition. Keep going, keep growing, and most of all evolve on your own terms. Most coaches don't struggle because they lack confidence or passion—they struggle because they're in a predictable stage of skill development. In this episode, I break down the 5 stages of becoming a coach, why each stage feels the way it does, and how learning theory and the four stages of competence explain why so many coaches feel stuck despite doing "all the right things." We'll talk about: Why personal growth doesn't automatically translate into coaching skill The difference between consuming information and developing competence What I call the coaching gap—and why it's a training issue, not a personal flaw How coaches move from intuition and soft skills to real, repeatable results What separates good coaches from expert-level coaches If you're a coach who wants to go beyond the basics, refine your craft, and coach with confidence rooted in skill, this episode will help you identify where you are—and what your next step should be. "Your definition of yourself will help you position yourself. Define what you want; money might not flow in immediately. Know your worth and stand your ground."― Olawale Daniel Check Out These Highlights: Over the past four decades, the one constant that has worked well for me and made my sales results easy and successful is anchoring my strategy in who I am in my heart, how I was raised, and the core values that are not negotiable for me. It was not what my sales leaders told me to do or be. I was raised to follow the rules, be respectful of myself and others, work hard, and be an honest and good person. Great lessons that I believe my two grown boys live their lives by. Being a good human matters! Now, I want to share some stories that will show you how to stand up for yourself, honor yourself and your clients, and how financial success will be inevitable. What if the most powerful health upgrade isn't a tech gadget or a supplement, but being outside? In this episode, Julia Bradbury tells Katie how a breast cancer diagnosis reshaped her understanding of wellness, moving her from performance and productivity to presence and prevention. They also challenge the idea of whether tech equals better health? Why listening to the whispers before the body shouts is important, and remembering that sometimes the simplest act, like walking in nature, is the most powerful. In a world that constantly pulls at our attention, opinions, and energy, reclaiming sovereignty is a spiritual act. President Donald Trump said he has learned that his administration might need to take "a little bit of a softer touch" in its immigration crackdown in Minneapolis, following the fatal shootings of U.S. citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti by federal agents last month. Trump's comments come amid mounting backlash, including from some Republican lawmakers, over the Department of Homeland Security's response to the shootings and its broader handling of operations in Minneapolis. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, both Democrats, called the withdrawal a positive first step but urged the Trump administration to end the remaining federal presence as soon as possible. After Pretti's shooting, Trump removed Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino from overseeing the Minneapolis operation and placed Homan in charge, calling him "tough but fair" and saying he would report directly to the president.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Episode 971 examines why fact-checkers keep losing to Republican lies in America's ongoing culture war, and why better stories—not more facts—are the only way to win. Driftglass and Blue Gal break down Will McGrath's powerful essay "In the Resistance, We Drive Minivans" to show how real stories about real people cut through propaganda in ways statistics never can. The episode also tackles why centrist pundits are tying themselves in knots now that "resistance liberals" turned out to be right about Trump and fascism all along, yet still can't be allowed to lead. It's about storytelling, leadership, and why some people would rather let their Bullshit Igloos collapse than admit the Left saw this coming a decade ago.Links for this episode: Will McGrath: "In The Resistance, We Drive Minivans" The New Republic: "What's Behind the Centrists' Resistance to the “Resistance Liberals”?"Crooks and Liars: "This Dingus Of The Week Also Seems To Be A Voyeur"https://crooksandliars.com/2026/02/dingus-week-also-seems-be-voyeurStay in Touch! Abigail had the pleasure of joining our friend and frequent guest Matt Carlson on the podcast portion of his project, What Am I Making, back on August 10, 2025.Now 14-timer Matt is the undisputed king of the Pops on Hops multiple guest club. He is a talented musician and songwriter from East Lansing, Michigan, whom Barry met as part of an online community created by Pete Dominick, the host of the Stand Up With Pete Dominick podcast. During one of their weekly hangouts, Matt shared the name of his latest band, Harborcoat. Barry caught the R.E.M. connection, which led to a Pops on Hops episode to discuss the album Joy is Elusive. The outtakes alone from that conversation also led to a POH bonus episode to discuss Matt's top five R.E.M. albums. Matt has contributed songs to our Christmas bonus episodes in both 2021 and 2022, and he served as the beertender for our first live episode. Most recently, Matt and longtime collaborator Jeff Gower appeared on POH to talk about their 2018 album Ways to Hang On.So, obviously, when Matt asked Abigail to participate in Six Questions with Matty C, she jumped at the chance! Enjoy!Learn about Matty's plans for 2026!Up next… Touch by EurythmicsJingles are by our friend Pete Coe.Visit Anosmia Awareness for more information on Barry's condition.Follow Barry or Abigail on Untappd to see what we're drinking when we're not on mic!Leave us a rating or a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify!Facebook | Instagram | Bluesky | YouTube | Substack | Website | Email us | Virtual Jukebox | Beer Media Group
A Note from James:In the first episode with Dr. Nicole McNichols, we talked about chemistry, myths, and why communication matters more than performance. This episode goes deeper—into biology, anatomy, dopamine, desire, and the mechanics of pleasure. There are a lot of myths around sex. Some are cultural. Some are Hollywood. Some come from bad science. And some just come from silence. This conversation gets specific. We talk about orgasm, desire, scheduling sex, the so-called “missionary problem,” novelty in long-term relationships, and why so much of what we assume about men and women sexually just isn't true.If Part 1 was about mindset, Part 2 is about understanding how sex actually works.Episode Description:What actually happens in the body during orgasm? Why does anticipation sometimes feel better than the act itself? And why are so many of our beliefs about sex simply wrong? In Part 2 of this three-part series, Dr. Nicole McNichols breaks down the biology of desire, the science of orgasm, and the myths that quietly sabotage long-term relationships. She explains why dopamine peaks during anticipation, why consistency—not intensity—is often key to orgasm, and why “missionary” might be underrated. They explore the anatomy of the clitoris (including research only fully mapped in 2006), the orgasm gap, responsive vs. spontaneous desire, and why scheduling intimacy can actually increase desire. This episode reframes sex not as performance, but as collaboration—an evolving, communicative process rooted in curiosity and growth. What You'll Learn:Why dopamine spikes during anticipation—and how to avoid the post-expectation letdownThe difference between spontaneous and responsive desire (for both men and women)Why consistency is physiologically critical during orgasmThe science behind the orgasm gap and what actually closes itWhy scheduling intimacy can increase frequency and desire—not kill spontaneityTimestamped Chapters:[00:02:00] No One Craves Bad Sex & The Myth of “Boring” Positions[00:03:18] Previously on Part 1: Porn Myths & Feeling Wanted[00:04:00] Chemistry, Pheromones & The Role of Safety[00:06:00] Sexual Growth Mindset & Compatibility[00:08:00] Fireworks vs. Communication[00:10:00] Anatomy, Diversity of Touch & The Clitoris Explained[00:12:00] Scripts, Feedback & How to Talk During Sex[00:17:00] Novelty, Micro-Novelty & Preventing Boredom[00:19:00] Wanting, Liking & Learning: The Pleasure Cycle[00:23:00] Expanding the Definition of Sex[00:25:00] The “Sex Recession” & Frequency Myths[00:27:00] Planning Intimacy & Scheduling Sex[00:31:00] Why Missionary Deserves a Rebrand[00:34:00] Internal Anatomy, the Clitoral Complex & Size Myths[00:39:00] What Is an Orgasm, Physiologically?[00:45:00] The Orgasm Gap & Why Fingering Matters[00:47:00] Consistency vs. “Faster & Harder”[00:49:00] Masturbation Myths & No Nut November[00:51:00] Refractory Period & Aging[00:55:00] Multiple Orgasms & What Research Shows[01:00:00] Love, Orientation & Novelty in Long-Term RelationshipsAdditional Resources:You Could Be Having Better SexNicole McNicholsHelen O'Connell – Research mapping full clitoral anatomy (MRI studies)Beverly Whipple – Orgasm research & physiological studiesA Moveable Feast – Referenced during discussionSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Episode 970 asks why Democrats are always expected to play by rules that Republicans openly mock and destroy, and whether apologies from Trump voters mean anything without actual accountability. Drawing on one writer's (Jamil Smith) refusal to accept an apology from a Trump voter, the show tackles the question of what comes after "I'm sorry" in American politics.Stay in Touch!
