There is an old joke, "What is Beethoven up to these days?" Answer, "Decomposing." Haha very funny. Everybody laughs. But what if I told you that in the 1960's famous dead musicians of the past got tired of decomposing and decided to start re-composing? With the help of a mild mannered British single mother and lunch lady, a full Liszt of the greats were ready to take the stage once more and start their encore.  Support us on Patreon! patreon.com/leasthaunted Join us on Discord! https://discord.gg/6jSqPXupJk Follow us on Tumblr! https://leasthaunted.tumblr.com Check out our Skeets! https://bsky.app/profile/leasthaunted.bsky.social Support The Trans Lifeline https://translifeline.org and The Trevor Project https://www.thetrevorproject.org Least Haunted & The Least Haunted Podcast ©2020-2025 Sequoidea Productions LLC.

Bunun için Kur'an felsefeleşmeli, Kur'an tefsirleri yeniden gözden geçirilmelidir, zamana göre yeniden yorumlanmalıdır.

CONTENT WARNING: Discussion of brownface. If this movie is the rebirth of the Western, it'd be hard to tell because it's a real mess. It's a classic, and it absolutely makes sense why, but it's also a total mess of a film. No one knows what movie they're supposed to be in, the script is missing a ton of connective tissue, and Steve McQueen has the audacity to be bad at acting and an insufferable tool. Still, Yul Brynner and Charles Bronson are total badasses, and this Western via samurai flick manages to be a little entertaining. But really, just go watch Seven Samurai instead.

We'd love to hear from you! Please send us a Text Message!I discovered a song I had written 4 or five decades ago. It was a response to a very bad habit that I had fallen into in life. The song was written and performed in my living room studio and was a one take … this means that I sang and played it one time in the recording process. It was an imperfect performance, but, for me, it was a powerful reaction to a profound turning point in my life. It touched me very deeply to hear the depth of emotion contained in this one take. I loved the song and decided to re-record it. As it was , in several tries I could not match the depth of the song sung by the much younger me. So I used the original Guitar/Vocal mixed track and added an orchestration to it in my studio – a duet performed by the two Mes – young and old.Theater of the Imagination is presented by Watchfire Music:  https://watchfiremusic.com/Updated Watchfire Music Commercial

    Banjo Hangout Newest 100 Songs

I recorded and mixed 3 banjo tracks to create this banjo version of 'In the Cave'. This piece of music was written by the Finnish band Pepe Deluxe specifically to be played on the Great Stalacpipe Organ in the Luray Caverns in Virginia - (a recording of that is available on YouTube). While not a great piece of music, it is at once haunting and alluring. The structure of the piece is simple: a continuous 3 note arpeggio (adagio sostenuto), very similar to that found in Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, with a simple melody and sparse base line. It is in A minor and has a 12/8-time signature. Enjoy.

Top Stories for August 19th Publish Date: August 19th PRE-ROLL: MONSTER JAM From The BG AD Group Studio, Welcome to the Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Today is Tuesday, August 19th and Happy Heavenly Birthday to Matthew Perry I’m Peyton Spurlock and here are your top stories presented by KIA Mall of Georgia Approaching 90, Lawrenceville's Bob Cunningham still in the swing of things as a golf teacher Rascal Flatts bringing Life Is A Highway tour to Gas South Arena Gwinnett wants to increase poll worker pay for 2026 elections All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen and subscribe! Break 1: Kia MOG STORY 1: Approaching 90, Lawrenceville's Bob Cunningham still in the swing of things as a golf teacher Come September, Bob Cunningham—“Georgia’s Golf Guru” to those who know him—will hit a milestone most golfers only dream of: turning 90 and still shooting his age. But for Bob, golf isn’t just about playing—it’s about teaching. Five days a week, you’ll find him at Pine Hills Golf Club or The Sports Academy, sharing his “Alignment, Balance, Connection” philosophy with students. Bob’s been teaching for over 20 years, charging the same $50 an hour since day one. And retirement? Not a chance. Bob’s secret to staying young? Golf, fresh air, and purpose. For lessons, call 770-378-4310. STORY 2: Rascal Flatts bringing Life Is A Highway tour to Gas South Arena Fresh off their sold-out comeback tour, Rascal Flatts is gearing up for another run in 2026 with their Life Is A Highway tour—and yep, they’re stopping in Gwinnett. Mark your calendar: Feb. 12 at Gas South Arena. Joining them? Country favorite Chris Lane, adding even more energy to the 21-city tour that’s set to bring all the hits (and probably a few tears) to fans across the country. Tickets? They’re already on sale, so don’t wait—grab yours at Ticketmaster before they’re gone. Because let’s be honest, they will be. STORY 3: Gwinnett wants to increase poll worker pay for 2026 elections Gwinnett County wants to bump up pay for poll workers in 2026—and honestly, it’s about time. With a packed election year ahead (think: governor, U.S. Senate, and all the chaos in between), they’re asking for $120,913 to raise stipends and $87,972 for in-person training. The pay hikes? Modest but meaningful: poll managers could see $350 a day (up $10), assistant managers $280 (up $40), issuing clerks $235 (up $20), and non-issuing clerks $170 (up $10). Why? To stay competitive with neighboring counties and attract qualified workers. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We’ll be right back Break 2: MONSTER JAM STORY 4: NBA Champion Adam Flagler Hosts Basketball Camp at Alma Mater Duluth Less than two months after winning an NBA championship with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Adam Flagler was back where it all started—Duluth High School—hosting his first-ever youth camp on Saturday. Over 200 kids showed up, from elementary schoolers to high school athletes, to learn from the former Wildcat who once dominated these same courts. Planning started months ago, with Duluth assistant coach Byron Wilson leading the charge. Flagler’s journey to the NBA wasn’t smooth. After graduating from Duluth in 2018 as the school’s all-time leading scorer, he took his only Division I offer at Presbyterian College. After a standout freshman year, he transferred to Baylor, where he helped the Bears win a national championship in 2021. Undrafted in 2023, Flagler signed with the Thunder, grinding in the G-League before earning a spot on the roster. This past season, he played 37 games and became an NBA champion. Now signed with the Spurs, Flagler’s future is bright, but Saturday was all about the kids. STORY 5: Study: Georgia Gwinnett College has made a $7 billion economic impact since its inception Georgia Gwinnett College isn’t just shaping minds—it’s driving dollars, too. Since 2007, GGC has pumped over $7 billion into the economy, according to a University System of Georgia study. Just last year? More than $558 million flowed into Gwinnett County and metro Atlanta, supporting nearly 3,800 jobs—on and off campus. With 14,000+ alumni living and working locally, GGC’s influence stretches far beyond its classrooms, building communities and preparing tomorrow’s leaders. We’ll be right back. Break: MONSTER JAM STORY 6: Let The Search Begin The Gwinnett County Board of Education is back at it—searching for yet another superintendent after firing two in just four years. It’s a mess, honestly. Who’s even going to want this job? And how do you find someone who can handle the chaos, the politics, and the sheer size of this district? This time, they’re slowing down. The board hired Alma Advisory Group for $99,840 to lead the search, promising community input through town halls, surveys, and focus groups. But critics are already talking. Some say the process feels predetermined, others worry about bias, and a few question if Alma’s track record is strong enough. Meanwhile, Interim Superintendent Al Taylor, a GCPS veteran, has quietly won over many with his steady leadership. Whoever takes the job will face big challenges: chronic absenteeism, behavior issues, budget scrutiny, and the ever-present pressure to improve academics. The board says they’ll have someone in place by the 2026 school year. But with so many eyes watching—and so much at stake—this hire feels like more than just filling a position. It’s about restoring trust, stability, and hope in a district that desperately needs all three. STORY 7: ART BEAT: Gwinnett Symphony announces 2025-26 concert schedule “Expect the Unexpected.” That’s the theme for the Gwinnett Symphony’s 2025-2026 season, and honestly? They’re not kidding. This year’s lineup is packed with everything from Copland to carols, Beethoven to the King of Pop. Classical purists, modern music lovers, and everyone in between—there’s something here for you. Kicking off Sept. 21, the “80th Anniversary World War 2 Victory Concert” at Atlanta’s Symphony Hall promises a powerhouse collaboration with the Atlanta International Symphony Orchestra. Think Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and Bernstein’s Candide Overture. Other highlights? Handel’s Messiah in November, a Christmas concert with Sleigh Ride (kid conductors included!), and a May finale featuring Elvis, Aretha, and MJ. Details at gwinnettsymphony.org. Don’t wait—tickets will go fast. We’ll have closing comments after this. Break 4: Ingles Markets 8 Signoff – Thanks again for hanging out with us on today’s Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. As infamous Youtube gems were mined, during lockdown, by intrepid Millennial podcasters, Bruce bravely opened wounds to spill toxic details.Yes, we are talking Star Wars Holiday & Paul Lynde Halloween Specials. The hot tea is on tap in Bruce's new book, It Seemed Like A Bad Idea At The Time.As a child, Bruce was not just your garden variety funny fat kid. His mother recognized his unique potential and submitted young Bruce as a Lane Bryant Charming Chub print model.  His journalism career took off at summer camp where Bruce successfully avoided outdoor activities by writing a popular and dishy camp newspaper. During college he went pro as a cub reporter for The Chicago Tribune, watching the films Gene Siskel elected to skip. A review of Bette Midler's cabaret show led to a collaborative lifelong friendship. The pattern has continued with Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, Dolly Parton and beyond. Bruce's comedic charms are so potent, he can take stinkers like Can't Stop The Music and Ice Pirates (featuring Bruce as a court jesting body-less head) and  churn hilarity. Wherever the comedy leaned towards tragedy, Bruce mined the gold that is his new book.Bruce also tells us how Donny Osmond's pull with Mormon elders got a Utah affiliate to broadcast Bette Midler's HBO special. Bruce then boldly addresses the Jo Koy Golden Globes fiasco. He imparts the famous legend of Beethoven (the dog's) Oscar movement, and tells of his daring journey in search of a look at Milton Berle's alleged equipment. But, Bruce's glories will not be outshined by his duds because we are ringing in a round of IMDB Roulette in which we celebrate: Ray Charles, Dolly Parton Elizabeth Taylor and The Constitution! Our next film should, by all rights, be one of the greatest all-time Westerns even made. Instead, it's a mealy-mouthed, boring, limp noodle of a movie that's stuck trying too hard to be a Big Deal instead of being the allegory for McCarthyism it was written to be. Fred Zinneman has shots for days, but he can't get convincing performances from his actors, and nobody in the cast can convincingly portray the real tension of this movie. Sure, it makes sense why this resonates today. But overall it's a real slog to sit through. Watch the clocks as we watch 1952's High Noon on Have a Good Movie! CONTENT WARNING: Discussion of racism against Natives, bullying, animal cruelty. Grab your six shooters and your saddles, we're kicking off our first-ever Westerns series! There's a lot in the genre for us to catch up on, and we start this week with a seminal film, one whose importance is unfortunately the only thing it's really got going for it. John Ford practically created the Western as we know making this movie but the dialogue and the characters are so rigid that it's somehow boring for a 90-minute movie. Still, if you've ever rolled your eyes at John Wayne and wondered "how the hell did he get to be a movie star", look no further than his performance here, smoldering and intense while staying relatable. The cast is pretty great, and the stunts are on par with anything that can be done with wires today. Still, this one is more "important" than a fun hang, so proceed with caution. From lynchings in the name of “patriotism” to German language bans and Beethoven getting canceled, we explore the dark side of American nativism and what it reveals about identity, propaganda, and assimilation. I was immediately taken with their purity and clarity of sound and I used them for myself, my family and my students. They helped open blockages, relieved stress, eased  physical pains and enhanced freedom of expression.  On March 27, 2015, my life changed forever when I lost my son. My only child, my beloved son, 19 years old. My world was shaken to the very core and I was brought to my knees. Nothing made sense anymore. Everything I believed about life was in question.  Never had I imagined that one day music and sound would be my emotional stability through such unimaginable loss. Life became a journey of negotiating profound grief, and music and sound vibration created the container that held me on the healing path through that anguish. When the feelings were overwhelming, the crystalline alchemy sounds offered me comfort, solace and friendship. Their exquisite, grounding yet ethereal tones soothed my brokenness, allowed me to move through the intense emotions and feelings and brought acceptance, hope and transmutation." CONTENT WARNING: Discussion of sexual abuse of minors by clergy. While no explicit mentions are made of actions or abuse, listener discretion is advised. This one has been on our must watch list since it came out, and somehow it lingered for 10 years. In fact, you might suspect we did this series just to watch this movie, and you'd be at least a little bit right. Fortunately, the film doesn't disappoint, taking the well-worn movie journalism formula and taking it in a completely different direction. This movie is all about subtlety, accuracy, and most of all, real human storytelling. There's very few frills involved and very few liberties taken, which is the perfect way to tell the story of uncovering one of the most heinous abuses of power and trust in human history. There's no hero worship and no easy answers here, just plain great storytelling. No wonder it won Best Picture. We're finish on a high note with 2015's Spotlight on Have a Good Movie! There is a special category when it comes to Beethoven; a catalogue that doesn't include complete symphonies, sonatas, concerti, string quartets, etc., but just single movements. This is the catalogue of great Beethoven slow movements. Beethoven's slow movements are like a great Tolstoy novel. They span the gamut of human experience and also reach beyond it, into something we cannot understand but all somehow perceive. Simply put, Beethoven often seems to know us better than we know ourselves. This brings me to the slow movement of Beethoven's Hammerklavier Sonata. Unlike those late quartet slow movements, the slow movement of the Hammerklavier is not about ecstatic contemplation. Instead, it is a movement of pure and profound despair. It has been described as “a mausoleum of the collective suffering of the world,” and “the apotheosis of pain, of that deep sorrow for which there is no remedy, and which finds expression not in passionate outpourings, but in the immeasurable stillness of utter woe.” This is not a movement I would necessarily enter into lightly as you go about your day—it requires you to take a moment and enter a world unlike any other. Today, in Part 2 of this Patreon-sponsored exploration of this great, in all senses of the word, Sonata, we'll go through this slow movement in detail. Then we'll tackle the life-affirming and maddeningly complex last movement, which is not quite the antidote to the slow movement, but perhaps it is the only possible answer to the questions the third movement so profoundly asks. Lord Alf Dubs is a Labour peer and former MP. He came to the UK from Prague in 1939 on one of the Kindertransport trains organised by Sir Nicholas Winton which rescued mostly Jewish children from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia.Alf was born in Prague in 1932. His father was from a Jewish background and was brought up in what was then Northern Bohemia while his mother came from Austria. His father left Prague for London as soon as the Nazis invaded Czechoslovakia in March 1939. In June, when he was six-years-old, Alf was put on a Kindertransport train, arriving at Liverpool Street station two days later where he was met by his father. His mother eventually joined them in London the day before war broke out. Alf studied Politics and Economics at the London School of Economics and was elected as the Member of Parliament for Battersea South in May 1979. He lost his seat in 1987 and the following year he was appointed director of the Refugee Council, becoming the first refugee to head up the charity. In March 2016 Alf tabled an amendment to the 2016 Immigration Act (known as the Dubs Amendment) which asked the Government to accept 3,000 unaccompanied refugee children into the UK. The amendment passed but the Government closed the scheme the following year after accepting 480 children. In 2016 Alf received the Humanist of the Year award by Humanists UK of which he is also a patron. In 2021 his Czech citizenship was restored making him the first Czech-British member of the House of Lords.DISC ONE: It's Easy To Remember (Take 4) - John Coltrane Quartet DISC TWO: Smetana: Má Vlast, JB1:112: 2.
